“A group of 5 of us visited Dish last night and the meals were amazing. Grilled Squid, the best I have ever had. Where else can you find it not breaded and fried? Add to that their amazing sardines so fresh and good. Pasta Funghi another high. Exquisite detail to taste in every dish. The owners go way out of their way to make you feel welcomed and happy and very satisfied. A must visit when you are lucky enough to get a reservation though other friends have happily sat at the bar for dinner just to be there!! Kudos to Dish!“

“This location was recommended for a medical school reunion in Pittsburgh by our alumni association. The food was excellent and the portions very generous. We did the family style dining for a large group, and it was very well received. One of my Italian classmates sate the the Cacio e Pepe was the best that he had tasted outside of Milan. “Probably the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever had. It’s dangerous that it’s only 3 minutes away. The raspberry chicken is absoutley amazing and it’s hard to order something different! I’ve had the calzones, Chicken Romano and a few other things. Everything is delicious. Huge portions and you will not leave hungry. Tried the fried mushroom appetizer last night and it was 10/10! The rolls are delicious! I can’t say enough good things. Our waitress Kim was great. She is very fast and efficient. I don’t think it’s possible to have a bad experience here. Villa Ballanca is definitely our go to when family is visiting and we want them to have a great meal!“

“At the time of writing this, Alta Via has an average rating of 3.7 and I cannot, for the life of me, fathom why. The food was fantastic and served quickly. The portions are generous, and the pricing for a half vs full is linear (half portion is exactly half the price) which is not typical-you’re usually charged a bit more than half in restaurants. Our service was great; Anna was attentive and took questions to help us navigate the menu. The atmosphere is just right with respect to volume and very tidy. Somehow they made the seating comfortable yet fine and all pleasing to the eye. The pricing is deeply reasonable-our meal would have been $100 if not for the wine bottle, and that’s an appetizer, four half portion entrees, and desert. The food is creative, and entrees have been crafted carefully and thoughtfully. Frankly, it’s just way too nice to be that close to a Primantis.“

“Awesome small restaurant in the Strip. Exactly what we were looking for to celebrate our anniversary-cozy, calm, super tasty. I also think price is genuinely super worth it - $45 per person for 2 courses + tip is crazy. First course comes a bit small as expected, but second course was surprisingly filling. Scallops were great, duck pappardelle was super rich, sausage ragu was very flavorful. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a small restaurant that knows what it’s doing. Even treated us to glasses of sparkling wine on the house!“

“Hands down best pizza on Route 8 without question. Generational family owned pizza shop who remember their customers like close friends or family. All of the food is great, however the Primavera pizza is a personal favorite along with the Italian or steak hoagies. The Grande Special Sicilian is an absolute wonder, the cheese reseals the cut if you get what I’m saying. I was coming to you guys as a kid when you were in the strip mall across 8, super happy when I get to have a friendly chat picking up the food!

“This place is absolutely incredible! From the cool modern atmosphere (and great music) to the impeccable food with flavor so amazing I’ve never tasted anything like it before. I highly recommend the spicy meatballs as an appetizer and the baby carrots as a side dish. It was so nice being able to view the chefs cooking in the open kitchen from the dining room. Dominic our server was 10/10 and certainly added to this wonderful experience.

Yes, Joe is our cousin and that is definitely warm and wonderful but Louise, Joe's matriarch, was there too which made it extra special. Lulu, chef, Delaney, "Ms. Brown", Linda and all staff were amazing and fun. So the food, sauteed arthichoke hearts, pasta fagioli, wedding soup, Chicken Romano, Veal Romano, beverage list unsurpassed and our usual standards and oh the red velvet cheesecake was picture and taste perfect. All food made to order fresh and it definitely shows the attention to every morsel we enjoyed. Oh, the bread is made locally and it's the best. We were almost the last to leave and we have all the photos to show our fun time. Can't wait to go back for their Sunday sauce. Salute and see you soon. “I moved to Pittsburgh about two years ago from New Jersey for my studies. I ended up living around the corner from this place for about a year before moving to Shadyside. This place has consistently had great food, and has always felt like a reliable choice for take out. My friends and I have gotten their pizza, gluten free pizza, cheesy bread, and their wings. We would recommend all of those food items :)

“Took my 4 year old granddaughter there for her birthday because she wanted chicken noodle soup. Even though the soup was great, there weren't the typical big noodles that kids like. When the waitress came and I told her that, she brought a Togo container where she fished out all the big noodles. My granddaughter was so happy.
