“The Love. was simply incredible! We came here with our 6 year old son. Our waiter was fabulous and very accommodating to our 6 year old which you don’t always find in Rittenhouse. The atmosphere was light and airy and the food was great! Make sure to try their Dubai Chocolate Sundae and if you’re going with children they do have special kids cups and will accommodate the menu for them.”
“We ate here for the first time and I think this is the best place I’ve ever eaten. The staff was super friendly, they were very accommodating to my gluten allergy, and the food portions were huge. I really enjoyed everything. I wish they would open a restaurant on the Florida Panhandle or honestly anywhere within 8 hours drive of us.”

“This was a pleasant find on Christmas Eve, made single-handedly better by our waiter Fathi. Everything was delicious and his hospitality was unmatched. We had way too much to eat and can’t wait to go back.”
“It was an unforgettable dinner. The moment I stepped inside, I felt as if I had been invited to a close friend’s or family member’s home for a warm, intimate meal. The space is small, cozy, and wonderfully personal. The two chefs prepared and served each course with perfect timing, offering fresh, beautifully crafted dishes one after another without a single moment of dullness.
It was a joy not only to taste the food but also to watch the careful, thoughtful preparation behind every plate. The flavors were excellent, the progression of courses felt seamless, and I left with that perfect feeling of satisfied fullness.
There is no doubt that this restaurant fully deserves its Michelin one-star rating. A truly memorable dining experience.
The only thing I found disappointing was that, although I mentioned it was our wedding anniversary when making the reservation, nothing was acknowledged at all. The staff’s prepared guests’ birthday cakes, special party hats, cards and even a moment where the lights were turned off so everyone in the room could celebrate together. In contrast, our table didn’t receive even a simple mention of our anniversary.”

“Awesome menu!!! Delicious food!!! Quick and friendly service!!! This place is absolutely fantastic!!! We look forward to coming here every time we are in town!!!”
“Batter + Crumbs is not only your go-to for a daily pick me up, it’s THEE premiere place for your speciality desserts as well. For the last six years since we welcomed them into our neighborhood, they have designed my daughter’s annual birthday cake - and each time they exceed our expectations. Book Batter + Crumbs — for your next celebration, and in advance, it’s my pleasure!”
“We ordered a custom cake for our 2 year old’s truck & car themed birthday and it was simply amazing. Not only an incredible design, but the cake was absolutely delicious!! Night Kitchen is definitely my go-to now. And their bagels are delish!!”
“Had a wonderful experience here, food was great, Coffee was plentiful and the owner went out of his way to take care of my daughter, giving her a cookie and juice checking in on us really was a great café. Will definitely come back.!”
“Absolutely stunning dinner at Pietramala. The chicory salad with cashew cheese and smoked olives was sublime and hands-down the best salad I've ever had; the cacio e pepe, also made with cashew cheese, was fantastic, with beautifully fresh handmade pasta cooked to perfection. The black pearl mushroom with potato was transcendent, smoky and caramel-y with an amazing texture and served over amazingly rich but light mashed potatoes. We also loved the crimini carpaccio (beautifully presented, loved the citrus notes) and hazelnut ice cream and enjoyed the nonalcoholic cocktails, which were herby and refreshing without being sweet. Possibly the best restaurant I've been to in almost 20 years as a vegetarian/vegan, and really nice ambience and great service as well.”

“Not kidding. Our table of 4 ordered nearly everything in the menu. Each bite was delicious, balanced, nuanced, worldly, fresh, and inventive. We ordered a second dish of the carrots, and also the cukes. Dessert was outstanding. Interesting wines, including a chilled Croatian wine that paired well with every dish. Definitely returning. Soon! ❤️”

“I think I probably have had just about everything on your menu, and I loved everything. I also like that Stina is not pretentious.”
“It’s very tasty there, we always order from them when going to center city, definitely recommend!!”

“I love this place, great food, lots of flavors to explore. wonderful staff, and seeing the owner front of house and behind the line was a beautiful experience 🦋. I cannot wait to come back and eat here again! 😀 Traveled from Utah to come eat here! (plus visit my son, that surprised us with reservations) a must visit if you get a chance to go! 🦋”
“We love Monster Vegan! It is our favorite spot to go! We have been going for years and it has always been amazing! Best vegan food ever! Everything about this restaurant is incredible! From the decor to the friendly staff! The drinks are out of this world! If you are a horror fan and love great vegan food this spooky fun place is for you!”

24 Hour Restaurants
“The recommendation came from a family member who when on vacation with his family ate there back in 2018. He was able to track it down from customers pictures and the dinnerware that was used. It's easily accessible from the Christmas market just down the street. Everything about this restaurant was fantastic. Our waitress was very energetic and friendly. The ambiance was very nice and the noise level very acceptable. The food however was absolutely above and beyond other Italian restaurants we've dined at. The portions were more than adequate, and it ended up being enough for our dinner the following night. Great place and romantic atmosphere as well.”
“Yes, it is actually open 24 hours. I have no idea how they do it considering how massive the menu is, but I’m so glad it exists. You can get nearly anything here - pancakes, smoothies, burgers, hoagies, gyros (which I highly recommend) - and watch them make it right in front of you. They’re pretty much always blasting music and in a silly mood. Doesn’t matter if it’s 4pm or 4am, the energy in this place is unmatched.”
“My friends and I decided to go to Parks On Tap at Columbus Square Park and we had a great time. The drinks were the best part but the food was nice as well. The staff was very hardworking!”
“Café Albania is truly a gem! My wife and I make it a point to come here every Sunday for their incredible Albanian coffee, and it’s become one of our favorite weekly traditions. The coffee is rich, smooth, and authentic—just the way it should be. It’s the perfect way to start our Sunday.
But what really sets Café Albania apart is the exceptional service. The staff always greets us with a warm welcome and treats us like family. There’s a genuine sense of care and hospitality that makes the entire experience feel special every single time.
If you’re looking for a cozy spot with top-quality coffee and outstanding service, Café Albania is the place to be. We can’t recommend it enough!”
“Their prices is very reasonable for a case of cupcakes, and even cakes that you would see in a regular supermarket are reasonable. And the taste is amazing. Definitely recommend this place.”
“It was an nice medium sized event space. It was very beautifully decorated for my Sister's Bridal Shower. She enjoyed it from beginning to the end. There are two bathrooms in the back. They offered us the back too but I didn't get to see back there. But very nice people who own it here. The parking is limited and the place is easy to miss if you're not paying attention. It has a colored gated door entrance. The parking is on either side of the block. But they rushed to get us to end the event which was weird and unprofessional. But still a very nice place...”
“Tried the chips and guacamole while waiting for a friend who is getting a surgical procedure done. Everything was super fresh and delicious. I’m picky about guacamole but this was so good! I also got the white cheddar cheese cubes, they were also very good. The salads all look amazing, I wish I had tried one of those as well. I wish more places had one of these vending machines!”
“A very pleasant semi self serve offering dining inside or out was just the ticket for weary travelers----- And I don't find their prices at all out of line, as an example they had an iceberg lettuce good sized salad at the self serve for five bucks; a long with many other premade temptations. The daughter enjoyed a generous sied freshly made pepperoni . And my "Soulful Sunday Dinner" was scrumptious! Half a chicken baked and bbqd' served w collard greens and black eyed beans and don't forget the cornbread. The staff were all very helpful and the dining room was a Disney Animators Palette!”

Takeout Restaurants
“An extensive variety of tapas restaurant with a good selection of wines and outdoor seating area. A focus on fresh, all crafted with the finest authentic ingredients. **Wine Selection**: A curated list of wines which achieve recognition as the "Best Organic Wine List" in North America in 2023. **Ambiance**: A cozy, inviting outdoor patio with comfortable seating, perhaps with Spanish decor and ambient lighting to create a relaxing atmosphere. **Service**: Knowledgeable staff who can provide recommendations on food and wine pairings, and who offer friendly, attentive service.”
“I recently celebrated a milestone birthday with a dinner at Elwood with family and friends. Chef Adam and Jenny were wonderful to work with and the meal was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved the venison scrapple amuse bouche. We shared several orders of perogies and cheese platters to kick off the meal, followed by a couple of orders of the tri- tip beef, the sea bass, and the rabbit, which are served family style with a whole host of accompaniments, including exceptional mashed potato that got rave reviews and deserves it's own mention. Several of the diners had never had rabbit, but they all tried it and it was a hit! I already have plans to come with some friends for an afternoon tea, and my husband and I will definitely be back for dinner and/or one of the dining events that Chef Adam hosts. Adam & Jenny, thank you for my birthday dinner one to remember!💖”
“My husband is a lifelong Texan and we recently moved to Philly from Austin and have been searching for good breakfast tacos to no avail, until we found Taco Heart. He loves the Troubadour and the Carrine’s Fave. They have excellent options for me as a vegetarian, too. The migas…chefs kiss! And we love the brrrchata.
But the real thing that makes them taste like home is the green jalepeno sauce. It’s impossible to find. But they make it perfectly!!”
“Ordered a hand-tossed cheese and a hand-tossed white pizza, and both were excellent! Delivery was super fast, and the pizzas arrived hot and crispy on the bottom with perfectly gooey, flavorful cheese on top. The white pizza had just the right amount of garlic and richness without being too heavy. Great experience all around — will definitely be ordering from Circles + Squares again!”
“It's an above-average deli, but they try to jam too many tables into the terrace area. You have so little space that it really affects your eating experience, and that's especially annoying when prices are so high. The baked items are good, not great (huge portions though); the herring in cream sauce is truly excellent.”

“Unique food, cozy, candlelit atmosphere. Our group enjoyed it tremendously. Highly recommend.”
Drive-Thru Restaurants
“Awesome speakeasy style bar. Small (15ish tables plus bar space) and doesnt take reservations. Got lucky that there was a table open when we walked in as it was the last one. Booth was comfty, mood lighting was romantic, music was a bit odd for the setting (latin-ish vibes) but not distracting. Drinks were great, had the bartenders choice which resulted in a good interesting drink. Lots of liquor options too and snacking food looked solid.”
“A truly special and magical place that still exists. I hope it lasts forever. One of the beacons that keeps Philly unique. Looks like more tavern from the outside. Has these awesome musical notes bike locks. Live music. Incredible beer and shot specials. Crazy cool interior. Awesome bartenders and patrons. Protect this place at all costs.”
“Run, don't walk to Helm. . .Great service, food is delicious. Don't tell anyone. You might still get a seat.
Inovative chef. Wonderful combinations.
Great guys and gals making it all happen.
I was introduced to this fabulous place from a local friend. How lucky he is to have this in his neighborhood.

“Bad Brother is one of the best neighborhood bars and restaurants in Philadelphia. I love to take friends and family there for not only their selection at the bar and a delicious and creative menu, but the service and atmosphere are just what you need to feel at home while also enjoying your time out. Get yourself some wings, a burger, and a sausage sandwich! Add a Caesar salad that you won’t regret, either.”
“Been eating there since I was a kid with family in the market. Now live in Key West for last 30 years but specifically make sure each time I come up to see family I go to Villa Di Roma, clams casino, asparagus, gravy and the people there that run it all family. Amazing piece of the food history of the Italian market that is a must try anytime.”
“Waitress was very knowledgeable about the cuisine. Other staff were friendly and courteous. Food was excellent, tastes wonderful and plated beautifully. The interior might remind you of an old time elegant railroad car with curved ceiling, crystal chandeliers, etc. great place for special occasions.”
Fine Dining
“We had a good, not great meal here. For the price (which was considerable) we were definitely expecting a bit more. The cocktails were great and the service great, the food was a bit underwhelming. We went with the tasting menu instead of a la carte and found the dishes good, but not anything particularly special. They were very accommodating with an allergy which was very nice. I'd like to try the bar menu but probably don't need another dining room experience.”
“My first French cuisine experience did not disappoint. My son and I enjoyed a lovely meal and cocktails orchestrated by the best staff - Chef Clay, Beau (our server), and Alex(Bartender). From the first course I knew this was going to be one of, if not the best, dining experiences thus far in my lifetime. I highly recommend that everyone take the time to enjoy this fine dining establishment. You will not be disappointed.”
“Our first experience at a James Beard award winning restaurant (2017) and chef was incredible at Vernick Fish in Philadelphia to celebrate Trent’s graduation! I know now what this caliber of food and service means and all other restaurants pale in comparison to Vernick Fish and Greg Vernick(semi-finalist chef 2025). From the appetizers (dozen oysters from RI, MA, ME, PEI) to the drinks and main course were all uniquely exquisite and cannot be replicated anywhere else. The constant doting with new silverware at each course and cleaning of the table was undeniably royalty treatment. Even the bathroom was an experience-I need the hand lotion in my life (instantly made my hands look 30 years younger). The portions, ambiance and service were all equally perfect! I highly recommend you check out Vernick Fish. We will definitely return!”
“This was one of our most memorable dinners of 2025 so far — everything we ordered was delicious.
We started with the marinated tomatoes with stracciatella and the focaccia, then had the Thai basil tagliatelle with crab and the breaded pork chop as mains, and finished with the corn brûlée and blueberry pâte à choux for dessert.
The marinated tomatoes with the focaccia were an excellent pairing, and the tagliatelle was a surprisingly delightful fusion — spicy, flavorful, and very well balanced. The pork chop was excellent too: juicy and flavorful, though slightly undercooked near the bone. The corn brûlée was fantastic, while the pâte à choux was the only dish that didn’t quite hit the mark.
Overall, the food was outstanding and the space was very cozy. Our only wish was for slightly better ventilation in the restaurant, but otherwise, it was an amazing dining experience.”
“Perhaps the most magical dining experience we have ever had.... each and every time we've been there. Rachel creates unique, delicious, complex, surprising, beautifully presented vegan gourmet five course meals that are served by Ibo and Sally with kindness, skill, and passion. Magnificent anniversary celebration. Cannot wait to go back.”
“Worth every penny IMO. If you're looking for an omakase experience that is both interactive/educational and a good mix of classic/inspired, this is the place for you. Kudos to Chef Andy for his hospitality and expertise! So nice to have an elevated experience without the supercilious elitist attitudes. Will be back!”
“The Bok building is a magical place, but go to the roof and eat at Irwins. The food, drink, and service was outstanding. The outdoor rooftop seating has a beautiful view of south Philly. Our reservation was outside. During our experience it did rain a bit, but it was worth staying. Our server was a trooper for keeping the patio goin. At night during a Phils/Eagles game you can hear the crowd roar. Electric.
The food and drink was great. There are Mezze, Pasta, Main Entree and Dessert options. I assume the menu is seasonal based on the ingredients, but I am unsure. There is a cocktail menu, wine offerings and full bar. I didnt have time to even take pictures of all the food and cocktails we were enjoying it soo much. We ordered about half the menu and will be returning to order the remaining items.
Dessert is worth it's own mention. At a lot of places, dessert is kinda a throwaway/pass. Not at Irwins. I told my wife we will also be coming back to Irwins solely for drinks and desserts next time we are eating somewhere else close by. We got the Milk and Honey Pistachio Gelato and an Almond Torta Cake that should be nominated for some kind of award.
I would recommend making a reservation. If the weather is nice, eat outside. Tell your spouse you are taking them to a Sicily Roof Jawn for dinner.”
“We didn’t get to eat at Zahav - but got the next big thing and ordered the Lamb Meal from gold belly with salatim. It was DELICIOUS!! Best lamb we have ever had, so delicious. Salads were yummy, hummus well done and could easily feed 6 adults. So. Much. Food. If you can’t make it to the restaurant- order the kit from Goldbelly and treat yourself!”
“My friends and I had an amazing experience at Fabrika! We went for my birthday after hearing great things. The show and performers were spectacular. Very interactive and entertaining. The food and drinks were also delicious, and our server was so accommodating. And at the end, they open the dance floor, which is so fun! 10/10.”
“My evening at Morimoto‘s will be the best memory of my visit to Philadelphia! If I was a local, I’d be in to have their Wasabi Watercress Caesar salad at least once a week. Brilliant! Service was excellent, all the food was lovely, and the restaurant itself, with its soft jewel-tone colors and wave-like forms, was a delight to be in.”
Cheap Eats
“Rhonda came through for my daughters 21st bday party! Called her on Thursday for a Saturday late day delivery… top notch, on time delivery but best yet… amazing mini cupcakes…baked on Saturday delivered fresh!!! The cupcakes were so flavorful…each one was mouth watering!!! Thank you Rhonda @seconddaughterbakingco 10 out of 10!!!!”
“My first time having their food which came highly recommended from a picky foodie, like myself! We did takeout which was fast and the young lady was extremely nice. The vegetable rice, sweet chili wings and shrimp rolls were delectable! Not one complaint! I will definitely be back!”
“Loved dropping in here on a Saturday. Very relaxed vibes walking in here, perfect for a relaxed meet up, coffee or quick bite. My wife and I ordered the Ume Plum Tea, Vietnamese Latte, Khang’s Special Banh Mi, Crispy Tofu Banh Mi, and Doenjang Butter Fries. The Ume Plum Tea is so unique, and their Vietnamese Latte is the best I’ve had. Their food portions are big, and will definitely leave you full. Highly recommend this place!”
“A nice spot, rather informal but still fun. We split the lamb glaba, which was fairly good, and the fahsah, which came with large flatbread and was really good. You do have to pay for water. Our server was helpful and easy to talk to. Overall I'd say its a fun ethnic spot to visit. They did some weird stuff with the bill- I think they charged the credit card tax ahead of time on everything regardless of payment method, so be aware of that.”
“We did the tasting menu and were absolutely blown away by the exquisite flavors of each course. The wine pairing complemented each dish perfectly. The staff and chefs were exceptional as well.”
“Ate there yesterday and friendly Atmosphere, very friendly and excellent food”
“The food was wonderful as the service was fast. I couldn’t believe the check. Extremely reasonable for all you get. I’d definitely recommend Kanella to anyone”
“Bar Jawn has Amazing service and food! In addition, a special thank you to Twon, Kelly, and David for helping out Blind Sports Organization (BSO) for letting us raise some money to let us continue and play the sport we really love. They really took great care of us the 6 hours we were there for.”
“As a travel agent, food is important to me. I not only book for my clients, but I also make restaurant recommendations and WOW!!!!!! This place is it 😍😍😍 I took many photos last night of the food, the atmosphere felt as though I was not in Philadelphia, but far away on a perfect vacation dining at an amazing restaurant. I'm going to post my photos on my business page, people, if you want Greek food, THIS IS YOUR PLACE ☺️ Thank you for a wonderful hospitality and an amazing time my fiance and I will never forget.”
“Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The staff is quick and helpful. The dance of flavors between the appetizers, entrees, and desserts were magnificent. A little bit of a walk from the theater but well worth it for a date night out. Careful with the stairs and it’s narrow when walking between tables, but to me this just elevated the coziness of it all. We will definitely come again!”

“Everything was perfect from the moment I entered. The front host greeted me with a welcoming smile. I dined at the bar. My bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and walked me through a beautiful meal. Service was top notch. The team work was beautiful to watch. Great attention to detail. The food absolutely amazing. 5 stars”
“My best friend brought me to this hidden gem last summer for my birthday and surprised me with a return visit this year — and I swear, it just keeps getting better. Hands down, this might be the best Italian in Philly. The food doesn’t just sit pretty on the plate — it jumps out, grabs you by the soul, and gives you a warm, savory hug. Every bite is a bold, beautiful explosion of flavor that hits you in the heart and the taste buds. This place isn’t just dinner — it’s a love story in pasta form.”
“We went for dinner around 5pm today with a group of 7 and everything was fantastic!!! The food was so fresh and flavorful. You can definitely tell they put love into their food and pride themselves on great presentation. BYOB with great mixers and smoothies. The service was very attentive and friendly. Very cozy inviting atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!!”
“Everyone loved every bite! One of my favorite brunch places in and around the city. Awesome food, and attentive service! #lEtsreAlesTate”
“Best cheesesteak I’ve had. Owner came around with extras from his dinner he’d made for his wife and shared it with the customers. That was also delicious, but the cheesesteak was better :) Absolutely recommend!”

“Great food. Authentic taste. We ate chicken jhol mo:mo, goat jhol mo:mo, himalayan chicken noodle and chicken fried rice. All of them tasted great. I would definitely go there again. Chicken jhol mo:mo is my favourite among.
Nice ambience and very well mannered staff at the restaurant. A good place to hang out and eat great food with your friends and family.”
“Excellent experience. Came in from Jersey. Went to Reading Terminal Market and tried Victory Brotherly Love, and was told about this brewery who manufactures the beer. Besides the excellence of the drink selection, the bar tender, Dan was one of the best. He was incredibly attentive. what an amazing experience! Can’t wait to come back!”
“1st time there and can’t wait to go back! Great atmosphere, customer service and outstanding food! Loved the variety and unique tacos. Highly recommend. 👍🏻”
“Each dish, from first course through dessert, was almost indescribably delicious. That had my family sharing our plates all evening. The servers, especially Jonah, were friendly, very attentive, and helpful. A wonderful dining experience.”
“We happened upon this gem purely by chance. We had an amazing meal from A-Z (!!!) The sushi is phenomenal; sit at the newly designed sushi bar in the back and enjoy unique daily catches that come in through the connections the owner has with local fishermen. The restaurant is also known for their aged steaks, and Kobe prime rib, which we will try next time. I had the miso black bass and it was one of the best flavors with fish I have ever had. The broth had such a delicate shiitake mushroom flavor, which I loved. I literally couldn’t have had enough of this delicate, delicious dish. I could have had two orders and eaten it all! I think this dish epitomizes what the word UMAMI means. I also had the sautéed mushroom extravaganza, a treat for every taste bud of incredible flavors melted with a delicate sauce. My husband had their unique collection of sushi and sashimi choices that were all enjoyed at their stunningly beautiful sushi bar, complete with two young, passionate chefs who love what they do, and treasure their personal designs of the fish and rolls. All the rolls are presented in this great wooden cradle design, which I thought was so unique and functional. The owner was all smiles and genuinely happy to have had us try his new restaurant. I recommend it highly for either an exceptional steak meal (all are btw, so reasonably priced so order them for sure), or the traditional sushi. You won’t be disappointed. This will be our weekly go-to restaurant and we are counting the days until we will return, which actually will be next Tuesday the 9th! Bravo to the whole team at Umami and thank you for your passion for Japanese food, and for doing it right from A-Z. We will see you soon! Debbie and Gene”
“Excellent friendly service and some truly remarkable food. Highly recommend.”
“Food so good I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Delicious drinks. Definitely coming back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“I had snapper soup there. It was an 11 out of a possible 10. My wife had New England clam chowder it is (her score system) a 10 out of 10. Best ever. Unfortunately, they do not currently have snapper soup. Missing the old Bookbinder too. Signed, Old Philadelphia natives.”
“Everything was so good. No fishy or stale flavors. Staff were very friendly and very informative on all the different types of sushi. Will be coming back. The A5 Wagu Uni hand roll was amazing!”
“Love this little spot! The drinks are super fun and inventive, and the food is delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful with any questions about the menu, and the space itself is a 10/10. Also a top notch playlist. No notes.”

Get yourself some wings, a burger, and a sausage sandwich! Add a Caesar salad that you won’t regret, either.”
“Incredible food, wonderful staff and service. We loved our date night here! Highly recommend.”
“My fave resto in Philly!!! The food was absolutely phenomenal—always consistent and so delicious. The service is TOP-NOTCH. They’ve always gone above and beyond for us, always treating us with so much care & warmth every time we’re there. We’ve always celebrated special occasions here since we know everyone will always have a great time. Shoutout to Luis and Jane—y’all are the best. ❤️
You won’t regret going! Don’t sleep on this resto!
P.S. Personal faves are the pork chop, NY strip steak, and rigatoni!”

“Excellent, kind, authentic Greek dining experience. The food was spectacular and very flavorful, and everyone was in good spirits. Great price for such delicious food”
“Our food was fresh, delicious, and healthful. The service was charming. And the space is warm and inviting. We recommend it to everyone!”
“Everything we ordered was so good! Very friendly, nice server and the cook! Genuinely happy eating there. A restaurant where you can eat carefully selected dishes at a reasonable price!”
“I had the Tomo roll. Best roll I ever had. Great combination of flavors.”
“Great experience. Chelsea & Manny were a big help for first timers that definitely ate and enjoyed too much. Hope to be back if we can snag the golden ticket reservation in the future.”
“Do yourself a favor; invite 4-5 friends bring a nice bottle of wine and you will have a wonderful evening. Don’t be afraid to simply order the specials.”
“We had a few different things off the menu and shared. Everything was amazing. All of the ingredients were fresh, the servers had great recommendations, and the service was prompt. We will definitely be back in the warmer months to enjoy the outdoor seating.”
“SOUTH restaurant is a gem! The corn bread was on point, and the service was top-notch, saving our night after a reservation mix-up. Jazzy atmosphere and friendly staff made it a great experience. Fried green tomatoes are a must! Just a bit of a wait for entrees. Definitely will be returning.”
“Only been there twice, but was enthralled each time. These guys get it. The service is friendly and impeccable, the food is prepared meticulously, the dishes are creative and high quality. Love the mood of the place; the ambience is perfect. Highly recommend their jazz brunch.”
“GLENN FIXED MY FRIENDS SHOE AND WAS AMAZING MADE AMAZING DRINKS YASSSSS WE LOVE GLENN”
“I moved to the neighborhood from Brooklyn recently. One day while walking around, I passed this unassuming place. The only indication that it was open was a chair outside with a bouquet of flowers to pin down a paper menu to the chair. The menu looked divine.
A few days later I walked past, showing my partner that the place almost seemed closed from the outside but was very cute inside. Someone who worked there came out as we were looking and was very kind, asking us if we had reservations yet. We said no but booked immediately.
The first time I visited, I had the sourdough, Marinated Mussels (hakurei turnips, miso, chili oil), Carrot (crab, brown butter), Shrimp (peaches, coppa, toasted marcona almonds), and Gnudi (corn& basil). It was an entirely no-skips meal. The mussels came cold, out of their shell, and the sauce was incredible. The “carrot” was more like a crab cake with coconut, brown butter, and an unidentifiable but delightful citrus. A perfect balance of rich & light. The gnudi seemed simple, but the lightly spicy sauce really pulled all the ingredients together. Finally, the shrimp with peaches really knocked my socks off. Lots of places will make “seasonal” menus but not put the effort into making sure that produce is top notch. The peaches would’ve been delicious on their own, but with the rest of the dish, they really shined.
The second time I went (just a few weeks later) I got the Chicory Salad (anchovy, buttermilk, comte), the Steelhead Trout (sungold tomato, perilla), and a tuna crudo special. I also re-ordered the bread, the carrot with crab, and the gnudi. Everything was just as good as last time, and the new additions were truly worth trying. Something as simple as a chicory salad can be so hit or miss - but WOW!
For dessert we had the cherry brown butter tart with crème fraiche. No complaints at all here.
Now I’ve rambled on plenty about the delicious food, which I will be back for very soon, but I truly haven’t ever been to a place with better service. The workers are extremely attentive and kind. I felt like I’ve known everyone there for a long time.
Thank you, Illata, for being such a wonderful neighborhood spot.”
“Came here for a joint birthday party and it was so much fun. I thought I hard ordered too much food but it was enough. They also played old school kpop all night and that’s really what I needed ;)”
“We had booked Veda for our daughter's wedding welcome dinner on 5/3/24. The whole process from the time we contacted them till we had our function was smooth. They were very accommodating to our requirements and went beyond our expectations. If you are looking to have a large gathering I will definitely recommend doing a buyout. We decided on the menu and then we were guests at our own dinner. It is full service. The ambience was good and our guests enjoyed both the food and their awesome selection of cocktails. Gaurav Bhardwaj and Brazil provided excellent service. Did I mention Food? Very Good and Flavorful. We are from Delhi and big foodies, and I must tell you that they superseded our expectations. The décor is very pleasant and we didn't need to do anything additional They provided us two stations for our henna ladies. Our function was a big hit. Check them out for your next baby shower, engagement, birthday function!!!!!”
“This place is the real deal! Authentic Italian cuisine that is fresh and flavorful! Service was impeccable and the portions are hearty! Definitely a must visit when coming to Philadelphia!!”
“Food was absolutely delicious! Everything was so fresh and the servers helped us cook our meats. So many sides and options! Pricey, but worth it every once in a while in our opinion. Loved it!
4 for atmosphere because it was a little loud and the ventilation wasn’t great for such a small restaurant.”
“Amazing place, delicious food, fun atmosphere and reasonable prices”
“Always love this place. I try to visit every time I’m in Philly.”
“My friends and I had an amazing experience at Fabrika! We went for my birthday after hearing great things. The show and performers were spectacular. Very interactive and entertaining. The food and drinks were also delicious, and our server was so accommodating. And at the end, they open the dance floor, which is so fun! 10/10.”
“I love visiting Philly as frequently as time allows me. If your looking for an amazing little pub with brews from around the world then this place is for you! The mussels are amazing too, with fresh bread. yum!. Great services, good food, great brew! I Highly recommend!”
“My family had a great experience there. Delicious cocktails and wine, wonderful food, and very attentive, professional, and friendly service. The servers were expert in the food and drinks they were offering and gave great recommendations. Our party of 5 tried very varied menu options and everyone loved their dishes. The cellar dining room feels like an old wine cellar (in a good way!) and was beautifully decorated for the holiday. For us, at this price point, it’s special occasion dining, but we will be back!”
“Had a great meal and an even better experience at Mana – Modern Chinese. The standout of the evening was the Shiitake Bao — pillowy buns filled with perfectly seasoned shiitake mushrooms. I could easily eat a whole plate of these!
Next up was the Jade Harmony Fried Rice, a vibrant vegetarian dish wok-tossed with fresh mixed vegetables. It was flavorful, beautifully presented, and definitely another highlight.
For the main course, we shared the Clay Pot Braised Salmon — slow-braised in a soy-infused broth with ginger, scallions, Chinese broccoli, basil, and bell peppers. This dish was a favorite among my dinner companions, with the rich, aromatic broth complementing the salmon perfectly.
The only slight miss for me was the Forbidden Ribs. While the ribs themselves were tender and well-prepared, the sweet-sour balsamic soy glaze wasn’t quite to my taste — so that may just be personal preference so I don’t see as negative.
Overall, Mana delivers an elevated and creative take on modern Chinese cuisine. The service was top-notch, the staff attentive, and the atmosphere comfortable. I highly recommend visiting — and I’ll definitely be back!”
“Just landed after midnight. Got to my place i am staying tonight. Wanted a drink and googled this place. Good vibes.
And my espresso martini was good. Nick the bartender was awesome and welcoming. First time in Philly for my bday week I'm impressed. Will be a regular here the next five days lol”
“Amazing service amazing bartenders Cecil is the man!!!! Big shout out for great selections and amazing drinks all night!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“We were just there to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from TJU. Impeccable service, delicious food and cocktails. Our server, Michael was amazing from start to finish! The care and concern for my Dad’s well being did not go unnoticed and was appreciated! Will definitely be in again! Thank you for a great evening!”
“My husband took me out to Philly for an early Mother’s Day gift. He said we were going to a “speakeasy” type bar in Chinatown but I didn’t believe him. When we got to an iron screen door, he was like this is it and I was like you got to be kidding me. The owner came out, asked my husband if he knew it was a cash bar took our ids then went inside. The owner brought back our ids then took us inside to a foyer where he told us the rules of the bar. Cash only, absolutely, no photography and no phones. If you need to take a phone call, you go back to foyer area or outside to not disturb people. We agreed to rules and went inside. The bar was dimly lit with candles on each table. The decor was amazing with pictures and antiques on the wall. We were sat at a table and given a cocktail menu. The cocktails were unique and separated by whiskey, gin, vodka and rum. If you need a light since it is so dim in the bar, they will bring you a light because they brought one to my husband. There were no beers on the menu so if that is what you’re looking for then this isn’t the place for you. We ordered our cocktails and they were amazing. Since there is no phone usage, you have more of an intimate experience with the person you are with because you aren’t distracted by your phone. We sat and talked while drinking our drinks. The owner came over and asked us about our drinks and how we were doing. We then ordered another round of drinks and continued talking. We enjoyed our time at Hop Sing Laundromat. Service was great, bartenders were great, owner was great, and the ambiance was amazing. This is a great date night spot for anyone who wants to enjoy a intimate setting with a cocktail or two. I would post pictures but again, No Photography so you would have to go in order to see it to believe it. You will enjoy this experience and not be disappointed.”

“I was looking for roast crispy duck. I didn't want to go to Chinatown because its gotten rundown, yucky traffic, expensive parking and horrible SEPTA. I decided to stay in my neighborhood so I could walk. I worried about it being expensive. Chestnut Hill is high end and the restaurant looked pricey. What a WONDERFUL SURPRISE! I was a solo table but still treated like a queen with lots of servers checking in, giving water and smiling. The roast duck in black bean sauce on the cast iron plate was SCRUMPTIOUS. It comes with a healthy side of white rice and delicate, flavorful bok choi. The skin was crispy yet NOT oily or greasy. The CHUNKS of tender duck meat were excellent. The sauce was thick, savory and yummy. FOODGASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The portion was so healthy that I was able to take a container home for lunch the next day. Then I ordered the Mudslide ice cream pie for dessert. PERFECTION. Dense, creamy, sweet but not cloying with nut accents, fresh strawberries and cream as garnish. Cool treat on a humid Summer night. When the bill came, I was shocked that it was less than $40. I did not order a cocktail because I wanted to concentrate on the food. I gave them a big tip and said I am absolutely returning. I am also addicted to their spring rolls too. Two perfect crunchy flaky rolls filled with a balanced combination of shrimp, cheese, and cabbage that you can dip in duck sauce or mustard or just enjoy plain.”
“The best decision I made was throwing a surprise 60th birthday party at Chickie’s and Pete’s on the boulevard! The party took place in a private back room that held 30 guests. Shout outs to Prima, the party planner and Frank, the server. My guests were very impressed with the atmosphere, menu selection options, and attentive service!! I highly recommend holding any celebratory event here.”

“We ate outside at Parc mid-afternoon today to celebrate our 61st anniversary with our family, including our granddog. Our meal was luscious throughout, though we were too full for dessert❣️I must say, the highlight for me was the tomato tart, which was delicate but hearty, and totally scrumptious. Thanks for a wonderful meal, and as always, we look forward to our next visit.”
“What a charming little restaurant! I sat at the bar on a work trip for an early dinner, which they actually have a menu for! Prices are reasonable for the city, and 4-6 is happy hour so I came at the right time for great prices and drinks and appetizers. Would definitely recommend! Plus this is walking distance to many nice hotels downtown. Only 5 min walk from the Kimpton Palomar! Would recommend calling ahead to ensure availability.”
“They have an intercom which is clear to let people know who have never been which window to go to and also tell people when their orders are ready. The pick up line could have been more smooth and fast paced. The food thought was delicious and full of meat. Would love to go back next time I’m in town.”
“Just wrapped up a "steak-out" at Geno's Steaks in South Philly legendary landmark that draws tourists like moths to a flame. Or me to the Bat signal. And let me tell you, this place is a Gotham-sized slice of Philly flavor! The fluorescent lights and bustling energy felt like a scene straight outta Joker's Gotham night club. I went with the classic "Whiz Without"—that's Philly code for a cheesesteak with Cheez Whiz and no fried onions, for all you Bat-fans out there. One bite, and I was hooked. The thinly sliced steak, melty cheese, and soft roll created a symphony of flavors that would make even the Penguin surrender his lunch money. But Geno's ain't just about cheesesteaks, folks. Their cheese fries, ordered from the separate window where you get fries and sodas, are a gooey, delicious crime against healthy eating. Coke products available to drink. And Cherry peppers, relish, ketchup, and mustard are free and self-serve. While I devoured my feast, I couldn't help but notice the wall adorned with police patches from across the U.S. – a tribute to the thin blue line that reminded me of my own crusade for justice. Snapped a pic in front of it, a symbol of the shared fight for good that unites us all. Overall, Geno's Steaks lives up to its legendary reputation. It's a taste of Philly history, a tribute to the everyday heroes, and a cheesesteak experience that'll leave you saying, "Yo, that was good shtuff".”
“Very cool restaurant located closet to Rittenhouse Square. We went there for Sunday brunch and ate in the enclosed upstairs patio area. We had the monkey bread, the pastrami fried rice and the bagel with lox. Everything was excellent and our server was wonderful. I think her name was Sally or Sailor.”
“More than anything, I desire the success of a restaurant as the dedication, time, and passion required to achieve success is not simple. Good food and good service are essential, but having good parking is also crucial. The extra effort of finding parking is worth it, as great food and consistency are key to success.
In this review, starting with the parking situation, it is quite challenging to find a parking spot at this location. Although there are side streets and a second street available, we had to park three blocks away, which was not an issue for me. Personally, I enjoy the exercise but for a higher-end restaurant, valet parking may be necessary. Partnering with a local lot would greatly benefit this location, especially for those who may have physical challenges.
This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I must say it is quite beautiful. The decor is tastefully chosen, accompanied by wonderful music. The bar area is very nice with comfortable seating, and there are high back booth seating along the walls. The seats are incredibly comfortable, something that some people may overlook. The table setting is luxurious with bone china or porcelain plates, linen napkin service, and classic stemmed water goblets.
We ordered mimosas, and a carafe along with flutes was brought to the table. Classic large four-tined table forks and knives were also provided. For the entrees, my two friends decided to order the stone-ground blue grits with petite greens, and Mississippi Fried catfish, which they both enjoyed. The portion size was quite generous. My companion ordered the king salmon served on top of warm fingerling potato salad, sautéed spinach, and mustard marmalade, which she found delightful. She also ordered a side of smoked turkey collard greens, which were perfect.
As a vegan, I opted for the avocado toast without the poached egg. It was beautifully made with a perfect avocado fan sprinkled with red pepper flakes, Black Eyed Peas caviar underneath, served atop seven grain toast, and garnished with cherry tomato halves. Two things that were missing were the microgreens and breakfast radish, which I only noticed the following morning when reviewing the meal. Attention to detail is crucial, especially with the accessibility of local markets.
The dish was delicious, and when we requested lemons on the side to squeeze over the dish, it enhanced the flavors even more. This meal deserves four stars but could easily be a five-star dish if it were complete. For drinks, we shared mimosas and I also ordered a Savannah glow mocktail with peach, lavender, and lemon topped with a dried lemon wheel, which was delicious. The dessert menu was not available online, but we shared a peach cobbler with a cinnamon sugar crust topped with vanilla ice cream, which was perfectly executed and left us wanting more.
The service was excellent, with Rachel providing exceptional service and Chef Issac showcasing his culinary talent. We look forward to returning for dinner in the future.”

“Everything we had was so tasty. Pasta special was delish. What really sure was the chips and dip. Some of the best homemade chips and upscale onion dip I’ve ever had. Super awesome and a must try. Would def go back for more food and it was definitely on a higher level than other restaurants.”
“This is my new favorite spot in old city! Everything is so good… from the burritos (both breakfast and lunch/dinner), matcha (with the horchata!) and tacos!! The customer service is a 10/10 as well. I get something at least once a week since it’s right around the corner. I’ve done takeout and dine in - the quality is the same for each. Well priced too! Highly highly recommend!!”
“I've been in Philly 16 years, and eaten at every major fine dining restaurant in the city, many more than once. Amada, Zahav, Budakkan, Vernick Fish, you name it. Every Stephen Starr. Every Michael Solmonov. Every Jose Garces. This is the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. The carrots, the beets, the mushroom taglioli, the tuna tartar, the beef carpaccio tartlet, the duck, the liver mousse, the steak...I could go on. Every single bite was either perfect or nearly so. Both of my daughters and my wife said the same. We talked about our top dining experiences in Tokyo, Paris, St. Petersburg, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Miami, Chicago, there have been so many, many good meals in our life. We just found one of the greatest. Thank you Emmett. We look forward to our next visit (once you fix the ramp). -Stephen”
“Finally! Philly gets a high end sushi restaurant that is actually good. Rolls were very fresh and tasty. Seared scallop special was so good and unique. My husband loved the dry aged salmon flight. Tony our server was very attentive and did an amazing job. Highly recommend!”
“Absolute neighborhood gem. Fantastic Neapolitan-style pizza with a thin crispy base and chewy fluffy crust. Excellent, friendly, and PERSONAL service. Plenty of vegan options for plant-based pizza lovers!! A real treat and a fantastic start to any evening in Passyunk. So happy!”
“This restaurant is tiny but mighty! The food is amazing, one of the best dishes in the city is the hoe cake and the mee caton. Also, the service was amazing, especially for a new restaurant. Every server was friendly and knowledgeable. I had two separate dinners here about two weeks apart from each other and everyone from the host to the person refilling the water was great! If you can get a reservation to this place, drop everything and go!”
