“We had an excellent dinner experience here. The food was great. The main dishes are a bit pricey but the tasting menu was exceptional and an excellent value. We got to try everything we wanted with this option. We didn't leave completely stuffed but comfortably full. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. They had no issues accommodating our dietary restrictions with the tasting menu which was refreshing. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Newport and I would come back again every time I visit. If you are in Newport, make sure you get reservations here. “Food is fantastic! Had the street corn with chips, steak fajitas, and the tofu quesadilla and all were fantastic. Love the feel of the place, and has way more seating and floors across this old building. Watch your head upstairs if you're tall! Drinks and service is great too as they got us in earlier than our reservation.“
“Much like the other reviews, I had a fantastic experience with Darwin. The mark of a good bartender is being able to make a great “bartenders choice” drink with your liquor/palate preference. Overall the drinks where great with the service to match. A go-to nightcap in Newport for sure.“
“came here for lunch because I wanted some nachos and fish tacos. this was the perfect spot. the place seems busy all the time, but service is friendly and they are hustling to get you seated and served quickly. we had some nachos and tacos, beer and churros. the fish tacos and catch of the day tacos were great. nacho plate was the bomb. they had plenty of different hot sauces. I will definitely return if ever in the area again.“
“I've been here 3X and had pizza with great little olives, a chopped salad w/charcuterie meats, and another visit just salad. The atmosphere is charming and modern, the sourdough pizza crust is really refreshing. Drinks & wine list match, refreshing!! Staff is friendly. After such a nice experience, having to figure out the bill for 6 individual diners really detracted from the experience. We passed the slip around, scribbled notes on scrap paper collected cards and cash and then the server was unable to figure it out. Our bill was over $300. Why, in this day and age, is this establishment unable to figure out how to give us separate checks is beyond me. We are a group of 10 ladies who formed 1 year ago and this is the first time we were told we could not get separate checks. It took 45 min for the manager to figure out our bill so we could pay. Clarke's Cooke House, you need to do better for your diners.Vegetarian options: The 2 vegetarian dishes were ordered were superb!“
“Enjoyed their entry for burger bender,Italian Stallion. The overly stuffed burger was delish. Fried lasagna, meatball,vodka sauce and spinach artichoke mini vat in top of bun. It also had a smashed burger as well. The burger also came with fries. We both voted it the best burger and eating. We got great service from amy, our waitress. We ended up having coffee with key lime crepes. The dining experience was alot of fun. We will be back again, after this fine meal. We enjoyed a nice bottle of broadsideMerlot with dinner, that worked well with the burger.“

“This meal was refreshing to our palate and digestive system from eating heavy this whole trip. We are glad we stumbled onto this establishment. We ordered the hummus plate with veggies and my first time eating watermelon radish, now probably is my favorite veggie. Also my first time eating a wedge salad with a knife but worth it to have the best salad in a lifetime. Oh just to balance it all with a side of fries as I compared to Wingstop (sometimes not hot/fresh) cause that’s my standard of fresh hot good fires. Also not pictured is the Narragansett beer, is easily my favorite beer of all time due to being smooth that isn’t a lite beer, has the fullness of a beer and don’t taste the hopines of it.The service was 3.5 stars because we were the only ones when we placed our order and it took a minute to get our veggie plate…. but after that the other two came in a timely fashion. Service provided was welcoming the moment we walked in. Ambiance we had to imagine cause we were the only two until we had to leave but we imagined the full swing of this place of how lively it can be.**They have good plenty of gluten free options!“
“The view of Newport Harbor was amazing. Right as you walk out from the hotel onto the deck you are blown away by the sight! One of the hotel managers (as we were riding up the elevator with her) recommended the fish ceviche. She was right. It was to die for! We enjoyed our visit, for sure. Maybe we can come back and stay as a guest of the hotel in the future. My only recommendation would be for the servers to be a little more attentive. I'm pretty low maintenance but coming by a tad more often and seeing that we were low on drinks would have been good. Did not detract from the early evening (to watch the 6:21 sunset) dining, though.“
“Rachel, our server, was super upbeat and knowledgeable. The ramen is the best in the state, in my opinion, and I have tried a lotof ramen in RI. Yagi makes their own noodles, I don’t believe there are any other ramen joints in RI who do that. And FINALLY a good restaurant in Newport. They needed one! Boba is great as well, dairy alternatives and awesome flavors. There were also caffeine free options for my kids. We will definitely be back.“
