“We recently visited Charleston and forgot to make dinner reservations, that’s when we happed on to The Royal Tern. Despite no reservations, they gladly seated us at a great table. The food was exquisite, everything from the Raw Bar, the fried shrimp, to the halibut. The halibut was prepared perfectly and was so unique; the ingredients worked together in delicious synergy. My cocktail was on-point, too. As a home cook, being able to watch the chefs prepare the meals was fascinating. Mad respect for their craft. Met one of the owners as he was making his rounds in the dining room, and he was a lovely person. He even printed a map w/shortcuts for us since traffic is so bad in the Charleston area. Highly recommend, will definitely be back next time we’re in town.”

“Absolutely love this new cafe!!. It is in such a great location on the way to Kiawah Island. To Go options, smoothies, brunch options, coffee, alcohol, picnic options, indoor sit down dining, and outdoor air down dining options. Atmosphere is super fresh, clean, everyone is so friendly and kind. We were a bit nervous stopping at a new place but absolutely fell in love. We also have two little boys and we did not feel uncomfortable or a nuisance. We often times run into that feeling when eating but that was not the case. They also had a refrigerator full of all local business products from local alcohol to local bagels to local ice cream. We will be definitely stopping by next time we go to Kiawah and also we will be bringing all of our local friends. Such a nice warm welcome change when it comes to places to eat in the Kiawah area.”

“Seriously the best Cuban sandwich I have ever eaten and I spent time in Miami! The pork was tender and delicious and really set the bar high for the rest of the sandwich which was exceptional! Give this a go if you are in the area!”

“I have had a few hydration teas as well as the athletes corner shakes! Strawberry cheesecake is my favorite! And don’t even get me started on the cake pops! Everything at JI Nutrition is great!”

“Gotta say, this ones pretty great. The ice cream flavors are genuinely unique to Charleston and they make it in-house which is awesome. I tried the Charleston Sea Turtle and the Cookie Dough flavor and my gf tried the Wild Strawberry and the Islands of Joy. Amazing stuff. we will be stocking up. Also, they have their own Wholly Cow coffee roast that goes super well with the ice cream. Really enjoyed it!”

“We were kid free and decided to hit this little pub up for dinner. The atmosphere is amazing! It's hard to believe this place exists in the strip that it's in! There were booths as well as high top tables and bar seating. Very eclectic but kinda felt like we were in a pub in Ireland! There were games available as well as a patio. We could've easily spent all evening here!
My husband had a Guinness and he says it was perfect. I had a house mule and the inhouse ginger beer was top notch! A little sweeter than expected, though maybe it was the simple syrup.
The food was a bit disappointing though. The croquettes that were on happy hour (4-5:30pm) were good!
I had the Reuben with Tots and it was decent, but the sauce it came with was spicy. I half wonder if I got the wrong sauce. The tots were pretty good, nice and crispy and the seasoning was good!
My husband had the fish n chips. The breading was crisp on the outside but soggy on the inside and slid right off the fish. The fish was very dry. The fries were the best part of this meal.”

“First time ever going, the squash casserole is AMAZING. The place is cutesy very southern has a local merch right next to the tables. Think a smaller cracker barrel but way better food. They only have one restroom and the sink is on the toilet lid, something about the environment lol just be warned.”

“This is an amazing restaurant! The atmosphere and service is top notch and the chef is amazing. We had the pimento chitin start followed by the fried chicken with cheese Mac and collard greens and finished it off with banana pudding. Simple dishes but to prepare them correctly takes great talent, to prepare them the way they did takes great talent. My compliments to the chef!!!”

“Fast service when your very hungry and the food is spot on. Wait staff are very friendly and attentive. I take my family there once a week to catch up with each other and Cabana always facilitates wonderfully.”

“Great spot on Kiawah for breakfast or lunch. Inside and outside seating options. Not the fastest, but the courtesy, attitude, and laidback atmosphere makes up for it. Read the whole menu and then make a choice because there are some sleepers. I’d recommend coming back a few times so you can try several sandwiches and salads.”

“We adored this place! We accidentally found the downtown Charleston location during our stay there at a close AirBNB! We visited 3 times in our 2.5 days there. Then, we passed by the John’s Island location on our way to Kiawah and decided to make the 25 min drive the next morning for our coffee and pop tart fix! Great coffee, service, pastries, toasts and local drink and food finds!”

“I visit here when I am in the Charleston area, which is mostly in the winter and early spring.

Each time the waite staff has been extremely helpful and attentive. No matter what else is going on, they always are on point.

The gumbo is very good as are the grouper bites. The flounder is also very good.

I prefer sitting in the enclosed patio area which seems to be more comfortable although I have been inside for dinner as well. Just a different feel.

I would highly recommend this location to anyone.”

“Amazing southern food and hospitality. We live in the neighborhood and have dined and gotten takeout from Linnette's 10-15 times and the food is always excellent. Those complaining about the flavoring/quality of the food are, IMO, people that are rarely satisfied with anything. We've had almost every dish and they are all bangers. Their bacon egg and cheese is one of the best Ive ever had, and they have phenomenal fried chicken. Enjoy with confidence!”

“Java Java Café is a great spot in Freshfields Village for fresh food and excellent coffee. The ingredients always taste fresh, and the customer service is outstanding—friendly, welcoming, and attentive every time. I highly recommend The Club for lunch; it’s filling and packed with great flavor. Be sure to ask about their seasonal specials, as they often have fun, limited-time options worth trying. A must-visit for breakfast or lunch!”

“Kids food was reasonably priced and portions were solid. The seafood platter was not great and looked thrown together quickly, but tacos were fantastic. The view and atmosphere were also wonderful. I would probably go back just for that part of the experience.”
