“What a great place to visit for cocktails watching the sunset! It was a bit cold and windy, but we still opted to sit outside and watch the final golfers come through and a glorious sunset. Cocktails were expertly crafted and we savored every sip. Seated inside for dinner, we were greeted by our friendly server, Priyasha. We ordered appys and wine. Very reasonably priced by the glass options. Local and PEI oysters were super fresh. She crab soup was a huge bowl and had more she crab than I've ever received. Delicious, but definitely a heavy starter with portion size and cream base. BF absolutely adored the filet for dinner. Perfectly cooked and served with breathtaking side of mushrooms, onions and spinach sautéed with bacon. Yum!!! I kept stealing bites myself. I opted for the appetizer farmers salad with fresh local veggies! Delicious! A side of truffle Mac made our meal complete. We couldn't finish it and would have taken it back, but we wouldn't have eaten it before returning home. Loved the entire experience from venue/view with cocktails for sunset, to amazing dinner overlooking golf course. Service was attentive and excellent as well! What a find!“
“I had such a good dinner here and the food was delicious. I took one star off because they don't have a separate fryer for shellfish which limits what someone with a shellfish allergy can choose from the menu. Aside from that, it's located right on the golf course and has indoor or outdoor seating. Prices are on the higher end but the quality of the food really shines.“
“From the minute we walked in to the minute we left, it was a positive experience.I had the grilled flounder. Out of this world. It might have been the best meal we have had since we arrived. We four all thoroughly enjoyed our dinners and can't wait to go back. The staff were excellent. Super service with discretion and efficiency. My only complaint is that we've been here for five weeks and didn't go earlier. Live and learn.Highly recommend this most excellent restaurant.Dietary restrictions: Our table mate has shellfish allergies and the server assured her that her dish would be cooked separately in a fresh pan.“
“First time eating here and it is really good! It’s impossible to find fried clam strips around here. They are a staple up north but difficult to find here so I was happy to find a place that had them! The clam strips were nice and crunchy, not soggy at all. The sides were good too. I got Mac and cheese and collards and both were great. Definitely would recommend. My only suggestion would be if they would make their own cocktail sauce. Fresh tastes so much better!“
“Came in from a cruise and asked a few natives where to get some Charleston cuisine from a black owned restaurant and they all said "Gillies". My family of 8, ate and dined sufficiently. The food was great!!! Food seems fresh and made to order but worth the wait.“
“Excellent meal. Service (Jane) and atmosphere. Seared tuna and salmon excellent. And unlike most places today very good sized portions. The pork belly dumplings were delicious. Could have eaten more..more..more of them. First time here but will definitely be back.“
“They're the best. Hands down. Always get the cuban and Mac. Each time I come, they're open day or night with smiling faces ready to welcome the next customer. Hot, delicious food right off the flat top. Im surprised they're not slammed whenever I come! Just a cute hidden gem with great food and a nice dining table set outside! The picnic benches are so cute at night lit up by the fairy lights. This place is going to do big things! ♡ thank you randalls.“
“Decided to try Ellis Creek Fish Camp with our best friends. They had passed by in the past and wanted to try local seafood. The exterior of the building is all wooden and styled like an old fish camp. There was a long line to order food, so we knew this was the place to be. There was both inside and outside seating available. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful sunny weather. Ellis Creek Fish Camp is dog friendly!! They have a station of water bowls and water for your furry baby. They also offer menu items just for dogs! The staff is super friendly and made us feel like family. The food came out quickly and was just wonderful. The menu has something for everyone, so if you don't like fish, no worries. I ordered the shrimp tacos. I had 2 tacos with shrimp seasoned the way I like (yes, there are multiple options for seasonings). They had crunchy cabbage and a tangy/spicy aoli sauce. So tasty. Our friends had the shrimp po boy sandwich with fries. I recommend Ellis Creek Fish Camp. A relaxed atmosphere and delicious food at a reasonable price. The service was fantastic! We will be back to explore more of the menu.“
“Staff was friendly and accommodating, even though it was packed the server was there to refill drinks and take our orders the moment we were ready. The food was fantastic, my mother in law declared their seafood pasta the best she has ever had. The grilled seafood platter was delicious as well, the shrimp was perfect and I finally ate scallops that I enjoyed. My drink, "The Painkiller" also lived up to its name, my back stopped hurting halfway through. 10/10 can't recommend enough.Wheelchair accessibility: It has wheelchair accessibility.“
“We stopped at LoLo’s on our way from Folly Beach. Food was delicious with attentive service. We had the shrimp with fried grit cake, excellent flavors, and fried shrimp, fried green tomatoes, and hush puppies. The breading was light on the fried food and delicious. Highly recommend.“
“Excellent seafood, and excellent service. Nancy was kind, informative, and very responsive. The food was all incredibly fresh, even the kids menu items. Usually kids food is mediocre, but even the kids chicken tenders were fresh battered and fried. The actual building is unassuming, but the food and service more than makes up for it.“
“Talk about fresh seafood this place is a local gem right on James Island with seafood made to order or to take home to prepare. Very quaint and I had the salmon coconut sticky rice bowl with spicy mayo , seaweed , sliced carrots and a medley of other savory veggies. Friendly wait staff and my first visit while in town for the Cooper's River Bridge Run. What a variety of various seafood , from flounder , tuna crab , red snapper, oysters to name a few.“
“First of all I absolutely love the vibe of this place it is so decorative with all this beach memorabilia and such. Everything was just perfect for a nice sunny beach day. I got the fried flounder (comes with fries+coleslaw) Loved the flounder however it was pretty heavily breaded for such a thin fish but the fries and coleslaw were very good. However I think the best thing here was the service, Our waitress was totally chill and made sure that we were having a comfortable experience. However this is the cherry on top, I forgot my hat inside of the restaurant on the table and I left and was walking down the street and our waitress rushed over and returned the hat to me. A little tip, There is a super cool farmers market behind the restaurant starting at 5pm on Thursdays. Would definitely recommend going to the market and restaurant!“
“We had a lovely waitress at sunset and shared a couple rounds of the loggerhead lager, really tasty, as well as world-class mozz sticks. An easy going, family friendly atmosphere with 3 bars, two outside and one inside, tiki umbrellas, live music, dog friendly. Indoor and outdoor bathrooms, the whole place was super clean and bus boy so sweet. Very timely. It was really delicious and very affordable. I highly recommend! We will definitely be back to try the philly cheesesteak egg rolls.Vegetarian options: Several delicious salads, obviously all the drinks, and plenty of apps ie mozz sticks, onion rings.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of pescatarian, vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free options.Parking: Super easy parking below the deck in the back gravel, clearly delineated.Kid-friendliness: We saw plenty of kids from newborn to school age, the theme and artwork is fun and tropical and nothing was too rowdy or inappropriate.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a big ramp leading up to the deck from the parking gravel below.“
“Stopped by because of the vibes. Nice dining atmosphere. They have a good mix of indoor and outdoor type of seating. Some items were great. And some of the items were ok. Seems like it can be hit or miss with their food offerings.Service was good.Tenders = 5/5Crab cakes = 3.5/5Grouper bites = 5/5“
“You can't beat such an authentic locals experience... They are the one place that has been here a lot longer than most can remember. They have great, fast, fresh food that is locally resourced...you just can't beat this experience... take it from a newer local!“
“A little annoyed to be asked at check in if I was wearing a collared shirt. Give me a break. It's off season, I clearly had a collared shirt on, and I'm going to spend 1000 on dinner but you're still going to make me show you my polo under my pull over which also had a collar?“
