“Had reservations yesterday for early birthday dinner. This was my first time there. We arrived 30 minutes early. The nice ladies at the hostess stand was nice enough to go ahead and seat us. The ambiance was nice and cozy. Dim lighting. We had the pleasure of having Grayson as our waiter. He went over the menu and gave great suggestions. I started with a glass of merlot and my hubby had black tie margarita and he later tried lemon drop. Appetizers we ordered a dozen of oysters. Very good. Now let's get into this delicious meal. We both ordered the Porcini rubbed bone in Ribeye 15- year 75 aged balsamic steak. That was Grayson suggestion and he did good. I like my steak medium and my hubby likes rare. The flavors of the balsamic was tasty and my steak was juicy . Packed so much flavor. I really enjoyed it. Sides we had mashed potatoes, asparagus and delicious lobster mac and cheese. Very good dining experience. The manger came over and introduced herself.and wished me a happy birthday. They brought out a rose and dessert and we also had our picture taken. I will definitely be back. Thank you guys for a wonderful dining experience“

“I will say I have a bit of experience with French cuisine having been born there and grown up eating home cooked French meals. Having said that this comes as close as I've gotten to getting an authentic and affordable French meal in the DFW area.We started with the soup of the day which was an asparagus soup and the steak tartare. All delicious, sufficiently sized to be able to enjoy but not overwhelming. Very, very fresh and tasty. For the main course we went with the magret de canard and the filet au poivre. The magret, was juicy, well seasoned and again healthy portioned. The sauce was not overwhelming as it can sometimes be and it complimented the duck well. The tenderloin was just as delicious. Be aware they do tend to cook closer to rare than you would expect however I would not be concerned as the quality is amazing. The beef was delicious and came again with a rich yet not overwhelming sauce that perfectly complimented the steak. We finished off with a creme brulee which was a delicious close to a well worthy dinner.“

“Fantastic atmosphere. Excellent service. Fabulous food. Very much enjoyed the bread that was served to our table. It came on a cutting board with a knife attached to the board. We giggled a bit that it looked like a guillotine and was appropriate for a French restaurant.Shared the jambon and geyere soufflé. My dining companion felt that there was not a lot of flavor to the soufflé. Shared the chocolate soufflé for dessert best part of the meal.“

“Taja was great very responsive and great with the menu suggestions. The garlic bread wasn’t that good. Really tasted like bread with Parmesan on top, and the fact that we are charged $8 for it needs to be evaluated by management. Honestly the food wasn’t just amazing, but it was ok. Nothing to rant and rave about would I go again maybe but it needs some seasoning. The salad was very basic, but I love that it comes with every entree.“

“Finally made it into The Holly, it took me way too long. I love it so much! My little brother visited for Christmas -- he manages a natural wine bar in Long Beach and really wanted to come here. We were somehow able to find the time amongst the holiday hustle to sneak away to The Holly, a Christmas miracle. And we had the best time! This is a natural wine bar where obviously the wines are.... natural! And naturally, a little more expensive, a little less alcohol, far fewer additives, and far more interesting and varied. We sat at the bar and tasted several options, all delicious, and each had a glass and shared the charcuterie board. The board was perfect. It's $28 and quite minimal, but to me it's the perfect amount of food to share with a friend over a glass of wine. None went to waste and we weren't wishing for more. It's 3 good-sized cheese wedges, and each cheese was so yummy and kind of unusual and freshly sliced (at least it seemed like it hadn't been sitting out). Then there was delicious dry salami, the best castelvetrano olives (chartreuse and buttery), and crunchy little baguette slices. We were told they typically have a gluten-free cracker option but were recently out of stock. Overall it was a small but truly fantastic charcuterie board, definitely my favorite right now! Daniella was our bartender and she was so lovely and took wonderful care of us. She made great recommendations, let us taste things, and talked with my brother about the natural wine biz. We bought 2 bottles of wine to take home, and my brother got a shirt. The Holly has super cute merch! I really can't wait to go back. They have a few beers and cider as well, if you're not the wine-type. Whatever you drink, give this place a shot and enjoy the sips and space.“

She made wonderful suggestions, answered all of my many questions and improved our overall dining experience. We started off with crab cakes which were delicious. Excellent dear on the top, but not too much. My husband ordered the pan seared halibut with sweet potato gnocchi and I had the char. Both were superb. When you go(and you should) make sure to get some of Nana's lemon icebox cheesecake. It might honestly be the best cheesecake I have ever had. Ever.“

“They did a magnificent job transforming this location from the "Snooty Pig". It is decorated like a 4-star plus restaurant you'd see in a nice area in a big city. We were there at dinner time on a Friday night. It was very slow, surprisingly. If it was in a different location, the bar would be full of people! We had a family of 5 eat two appetizers, the spinach-artichoke dip and the clams. They were both amazing. I used all the bread and ordered more just to soak up the juices and sauce. We thought they were just a bit overpriced by about $2-$3 each. We ordered the Ribeye, the Sirloin, and the Seafood Pasta. It was all very good. My only issue was pricing. The location and average pricing compared to other restaurants of the same caliber makes me believe they are slightly higher priced by $4-$6 per main dish. My daughter got the chicken strips. They were so huge and of great quality. The sweet tea was refreshing. However, it had a weird after taste. The wait staff were good, especially when we had to send the sirloin back because it wasn't medium. It came out very "blue". They recooked it perfectly. We will definitely be back when we have a little higher budget and want good food!“

Very secluded with a beautiful park are shared with the smaller apartment communities behind the strip. I had the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had today! Bone-in crispy chicken with a waffle covered in a blueberry and cinnamon compound butter and syrup. TO DIE FOR. We will be back 1000%. Angel was our server, and though he’s only here on the weekends, I’d recommend asking for him.“

Grand Cru Wine Bar Wine Bar • $
1257 W Magnolia Ave, Fort Worth

“Grand Cru Wine Bar is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with an ambiance that exudes sophistication and warmth. What truly sets this place apart is its exceptional wine selection, carefully curated with a focus on quality over quantity.Their white wine flight is a journey through some of the finest expressions of the grape. The Terre Rouge Viognier from California delights with its lush texture and vibrant flavors, surprised by the hints of oak while the Babylonstoren Chenin Blanc from South Africa offers a beautifully nuanced profile that captivates the palate with green apple hitting you in the face! And let's not forget the Thomas George Estates Chardonnay, a true standout with its elegant balance of fruit and vanilla. I'm told it's aged in stainless steel and concrete. But the delights don't end there. The Valckenburg Gewürztraminer and Benoit Gautier Chenin Blanc are absolute must-tries, each offering a unique and memorable experience being off dry. What truly elevates the Grand Cru experience is the expertise and passion of their staff, particularly Chris, a level 3 Sommelier whose knowledge and enthusiasm for wine are simply infectious. He guided me through the menu with ease, offering insights and recommendations that enhanced my first visit tenfold. If you're looking for an unparalleled wine experience, look no further than Grand Cru Wine Bar. Whether you're a seasoned wine lover or just beginning your journey into the world of wine, this place will exceed your expectations in every way possible.I'm already looking forward to my next visit.“
