“After 6 months living in Houston, for me this Is the best restaurant up to now that I have tried in Houston. High quality of ingredients and great receipts. Wonderful service and location inside romantic with low lights. They have a menu that Is gourmet, leveraging on more simplicity and combination of fee ingredients.“

“Had such a serendipitous experience for dinner tonight: spied the restaurant with its lofty windows from the hotel elevator (Hyatt Reg across the street), decided to wander over, and was blown away by the food (Wagyu pulled beef wontons!!) and the service (merci bien, Sofiane!). I wish I were in Houston long enough to have another meal here“

“We came here for my birthday 4/2024. Our serving staff, Sonya and Robin, were amazing. The environment was classy and relaxed. Sonya had an amazing and funny personality which we appreciated. I got the bone-in filet and my fiancé got the filet special with the chili sauce. His steak and plate was amazing. My bone-in filet ordered medium rare came more cooked. Sonya was great to take it back and order another steak that was more medium rare. The potatoes au gratin were amazing and their Italian cream cake was delicious. The bone-in filet I would not order again. It had a very strong smell/taste to it...not sure if it's because of the bone.Overall, we would go back and I would order that huge filet that he ordered...it was amazing with the hot/sweet chili sauce, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Thank you Sonya and Robin for making our visit memorable.“

“As one of Houston's older establishments, Stanton's City Bites managed to morph from what was once a convenience store to one of the city's beloved burger destinations. A lot has changed in the First World over the last half century, but Stanton's has remained one of the city's most popular businesses. For me, it's become one of my favorite places to enjoy an American classic and is a beloved Asian-owned business. The place is easy to miss for a lot of first timers, since the building looks more like a house than it does a restaurant. The beautiful mural on the outside is what usually gets my attention but it's literally on the corner of Houston Ave and Edwards Street. Parking can be a challenge at times, but the steady flow of customers in and out means the wait to find a space won't be long. The interior reminds me of a renovated retro diner. I love the vintage decor pieces adorned on the wall and it didn't dawn on me that the place had Asian management until I saw the urns and Chinese characters behind the counter. It was a surprise but I'm all for it. (#1) The staff was extremely kind and current owner Theresa Fong and her adult children were doing a masterful job at running the show, cooking the food, and greeting every customer. Every time I've gotten a burger here, it's been great. The 1/2 Ib beef patties are a welcome departure from the smashburger trend that has been sweeping the city the past few years, and the heartiness of their stacked burgers is my usual preference. Truth be told, I haven't really had a bad burger here yet, thus I tend to get something different here each time. The Miss Piggie (ground bacon + beef patty + house candied bacon + hashbrown + cheddar + lettuce + tomato) is an easy go-to, as it combines a lot of sweet and savory textures. I do feel their turkey burger is highly underrated, and the holy cow (5 different cheeses) is cheesy in the best way. The blue moon (crumbled bleu cheese) is my pseudo guilty pleasure, but the monster burger (1 Ib of meat, 1/4 bacon, 4 slices of American cheese, with all the fixins) is the one item I can expect a nice food coma. Combine this with their tator tots, french fries, onion rings or pickle chips. There are also many burger alternatives, from veggie options to other sandwiches. Their club sandwiches are stacked (literally) and the tuna salad as well as the BLT, or smoked turkey sandwiches sound fabulous. I've heard good things about their chicken caesar. The prices aren't back breaking and the takeout is so popular here that I'd recommend calling ahead of time. They are a friend bunch and whenever I'm in the area I'm always debating on making a stop to enjoy a good, casual, and delicious burger. ___________ (#1) Is this not the most Houston thing ever?“

“Very chill outdoor bar. The bartenders are cordial and friendly.Except for a large awning in front of the bar, seating is all outdoors.Went for their BOGO Burger Tuesday deal with some friends. Everyone was happy with their burger choices, guy and the burgers are grilled to order. Really good selection of burgers to choose from. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a low-key casual, patio bar.“

“What? You only have fries? They actually have additional items and please refer to the updated menu that I posted. They are a bit pricey, and their prices have gone up significantly in past few months. I’m not sure if that is because of the supply and demand issue.I enjoyed the taste and the freshness of the food. I ordered a small portion of Bayou fries. Will I order this again? Absolutely. They are a bit pricey, but you can be the judge of the taste and portion size. I have posted what I ordered in the attached pictures.Enjoy…!!Vegetarian options: They serve vegan fries, but I did not verify if they are 100% vegan without cross contamination and fried in a different oil separately.Parking: Plenty of parking spaces.“

“Service was fantastic. Can’t remember our servers name, but he did wonderful! Very attentive and made our visit comfortable. Enjoyed all of the salsas that came out with the chips. Queso with steak was perfect. The cups were cute and enormous, which is great for my husband because he is always having to ask for refills. We ordered quesadillas and they were delicious. Amazing little hidden gem. Will be back for sure. Definitely recommend!!“

“I pulled in here for an early lunch before my flight home. I grew up in SE Houston in the 70s and early 80s but had never been here. I knew when I saw the parking lot nearly full at 11 AM on a Monday that it was going to be good. Old school diner with huge portions and good prices. I had meatloaf with gravy, spinach, and cornbread. More than I could finish. $10. Getting waited on took a little while, but from there, all great. They have daily specials and serve breakfast all day. I suggest getting there early for lunch. Great place.Vegetarian options: Veggie plate or salad.Parking: Full at noon. Plenty of spaces at 11 am.Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids. Some large tables for families.Wheelchair accessibility: 2 doors, no steps. Hostess can hold the door for you.“

“The restaurant was very clean, staff was friendly, and service was prompt. Our waitress was very knowledgable, quick, and overall pleasant. The drinks and appitizers were good. We were not fans of our main entrees, however Bryan was very quick to address this issue for us. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed to enjoy their meal and time. It just could have been an off night for us. I would give this place a try if I was in the EADO area!“

“I love that they provide directions on how this place operates bc it's actually 2 places in one. The other is Leeland House. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. They serve brunch all day, and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Parking was not plentiful, but it's there. Try the lemonade, TX Benny (egg fried), and the shrimp & grits. I will go back.Re: response from owner, I'm not sure what your response means.“

“What a great experience this turned out to be. Peppers is a midsized Non-chain restaurant in Pasadena, Tx. This was my first time here and I was impressed. The building from the outside is beautifully maintained and welcoming, with a uniquely landscaped front garden. Once inside it gets better. We were greated by a friendly young host and taken through an immaculately clean dining room to our table. It is a real, sit down restaurant. It is calm, was quiet, and comfortable. There were couples, small groups, and families with children. Our waiter arrived with menus almost immediately. The menu is not huge but had something for everyone. I don't remember seeing hot dogs but I didn't look at the kid menu. It has a varied offering of steaks, seafood, pasta, chicken, hamburgers, veggies, sides, and appetizers. Oh yeah, and a very nice full bar. They make an excellent lemondrop martini. The serving size of our meals was generous and appealing. Many of the entrees offer a size choice in case you want a smaller meal. The fried catfish and shrimp entree was huge with thick perfectly fried seafood. It made me wish I had some of those shrimp. My pan-seared redfish crabmeat/butter sauce was excellent. The smothered steak was also very tasty with a nice, thick steak burger under gravy and onions. Our sides were not canned or bland. A big fully loaded (no scrimping) baked potato, big, thick asparagus...everything really was upscale quality food and worth the somewhat expensive price. Most of the entrees I was interested in were $16 to $25 dollars that included 2 sides and dinner rolls. But hey, you can barely get anything under $15 dollars at Cheddars and that is for canned, frozen, and mushy food. So yes, if I am getting a nice dinner out I would rather splurge a little and go back to Peppers. I don't know if my food pics do this restaurant justice and I wish I had taken pictures of the really nice dining room. The plates are loaded and presented nicely. The ONLY thing that needs improvement in my opinion is the dinner rolls. They were disappointing. We were too full to try any desert this time. I would recommend Peppers based on an excellent first time dining experience. My parents eat here often.Parking: There is a lot of parking.Kid-friendliness: It seemed that children are very welcome here. There were several children dining. They were very well-behaved and appeared to be enjoying themselves. Kudos to their parents.Wheelchair accessibility: There is no problem with wheelchairs here.“

I only tried their Alligator Tail bites, and they were very good and well seasoned. The Corona's were cold and the salt and lime added a great taste. They went down pretty easy. “OMG!! The food!!! Sooooo good! Huge portions for reasonable price. The atmosphere is welcoming!! The service was cool too!! I just could not get past the food!! It was delicious!! It will definitely stay on my frequent visit list for eateries.“

“The food was incredibly tasty! That lobster quesadilla was the BEST I've ever had. It had big, beautiful chunks of fresh tasting lobster in it. If had to offer any criticism, it would be over the amount of guacamole you get. They go more for presentation and don't fill the bowl. For $18, the portion size could definitely use improvement. Service was good, but slightly slow on occasion. Ambiance fluctuated between medium and loud. Overall, we loved this place! The food alone would bring me back.“

“When we arrived with a party of 3 we were told there would be a 20 minute wait because there were a lot of people ahead of us. Fair enough. However, from the door I counted 8 empty booths and at least one large round table. It seemed they were seating in order of arrival, because we weren't seated until after a party of 5 or 6, who.also had to wait despite a large table sitting empty, was seated. We did get an apology for the wait, and we were seated in one of the empty booths I mentioned earlier. The food was fair to great. We started with an appetizer of fried pickles. They had a nice salty/sour taste and the batter had good adhesion to the pickles. The Reuben Melt with potato chips was great, and the pastrami has a fantastic smokey favor. We took an extra one to go.The Chocolate Chip Pancakes were good. The pancakes themselves were fluffy but not overly sweet, balancing the chocolate syrup and chips well. The chicken and waffles were disappointing. The waffle was fine, but the chicken was ordinary chicken tenders with no noticable seasoning. Not the southern fried flavor one would expect. The decor in the restaurant was nice, but there was an unpleasant odor. It might have originated from outside, or from the spill in the kitchen we noticed every time the door opened that remained for the duration of our visit.Once we were seated, the waitress was cheerful, friendly, and attentive. We suspect that they may have been short staffed during our visit. If so, I'd recommend seating guests as soon as possible so they can at least get drinks. People tend to be more patient when seated.“

“I recently visited Houston Grill House for dinner with a group of friends, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The restaurant is located in a convenient spot with ample parking available nearby. we were greeted warmly by the hostess who promptly seated us. The interior was clean and well-maintained, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The menu at Houston Grill House offered a diverse range of dishes, catering to different dietary preferences. While the majority of our meals were delicious, one person in our group expressed that their steak was slightly overcooked. It would be beneficial for the kitchen staff to pay a little more attention to ensuring the desired doneness of the meat. Houston Grill House left a positive impression on me. The restaurant's friendly and attentive staff, along with the delectable food options, make it a great choice for a night out with friends or a special occasion. “Seems like a nice enough place to sit down with a team and have a lunch. Staff was quick to take the order, but definitely longer in fulfilling it. Food was adequate but obviously pre-formed and not being sliced off a spit in the back - definitely not your standard gyro. Props to the iced tea.“

“Great food and service! Our server did a fantastic job, detailing the meal options, and making great recommendations. Our food was brought out quickly and prepared in an excellent manner. Everything was eye appealing and tasted great! Prices are good and the quantity received is enough to make two meals of each. Rolls and cornbread muffins are brought to your table complimentary. The restaurant is "seat yourself", and kept very clean and you can see the food being prepared. For dessert, a nice selection of pies are available, and they are huge slices!
