“This is why I love Yelp. I'm giddy when Yelp reviews point me to places like this, that I never would have found on my own. We were very pleased with the food, the service, and the vibes we found at Cochinita! We ordered The Desayuno (not pictured because my husband dug in before I could snap one) and the 3 Leches French Toast, a latte and a London Fog. All plates were emptied before we left. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and was beautifully plated. They have a collection of house made sauces and oils available to spice up your meal (and you can even purchase some to take home.) Cochinita is a real treat. The neighborhood is worth a cruise after breakfast for the murals, too!“

The location is very small but extremely inviting. The inside can sit maybe 10-15 people and there is some outdoor seating available. I could see this place getting packed pretty quickly. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. While we already had breakfast prior to arriving we were pleasantly surprised they offered a breakfast menu. We both had the horchata latte and a concha. We really enjoyed the horchata latte was really good, super excited to try more drinks! This might be my new regular!“

“Hear me out! This burger spot is top tier. There needs to be 10 stars available to rate this place because they delivered a quality burger and it was stacked! As an LA native home of the best burger joints on the west coast. Argue with your mama not me! Champ Burger takes the lead of the closest thing to home. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and loaded. I got the champ burger with cheese, bacon, grilled onions, jalapeños, tomatoes and lettuce. No need for a double patty, this is not your in n out size burger the one patty will do just fine. I thought my cousin was exaggerating after the first bite until I tried mine and she wasn't. It was the real deal! All I'm going to say is if you are in second ward stop by and give champ burger a try. Not only is their food good but the prices are great, give good portions and the staff are nice. This is a burger stand vibe so whether you want to eat in the outdoor seating area or take your meal home the Champ Burger team got you! See for yourself and support this business!“

Our server didn't write down our orders, and there was six of us all ordering entrees and appetizers. Unfortunately, some of the food came out wrong, and I can only assume it was because the server was relying on her memory alone. Overall, the food was good, and the atmosphere is cute and authentically Belgian. I think four stars is a generous rating given the service issues. I read that the chef is from New York, but I especially like the location. I always go for their seasonal drinks but my husband always goes for latte with alt milk. Whenever I decide to walk the Columbia Tap Trail, this is a nice stop land treat about halfway through the trail. I feel rewarded. “Great brewery with a strong menu. Went there for lunch at 11 AM on a Saturday. Ritchie welcomed us to the brewery, then ran through what was on tap and their food offerings before pouring us some of the breweries reverse osmosis water. I hate going somewhere and drinking some funky tap water with my beer l, so this was great. My beer faces were Who’s Your Paddy? Irish Red and Hot Boi Blueberry/Raspberry Blonde Ale. Both were excellent, with the Side Gig Sour Ale and Gurl Dinner Stout getting honorable mentions. All were very drinkable session beers, great for enjoying in their fresh and open taproom. For lunch, we opted for a breakfast pizza off the brunch menu and some Brussels sprouts off their normal menu. The breakfast pizza crust had a chewy interior and a crisp exterior, perfectly done. Sausage, egg, and tots were supported by a delicious white sauce. The sprouts were seared in a Szechuan sauce and topped with pickled onions, sesame seeds, and pumpkin seeds. I could have eaten those all day.Cannot recommend this place enough, and kudos to Richie (beer tender) and Bobby (chef) for their hospitality, excellent service, and engaging conversation.“

“I was visiting my family in Houston and my cousin took me here for poke. I absolutely loved trying this place - perfect amount of protein, the fish tasted fresh, not too much sauce, and great portion sizes. I even liked how they had utensils corresponding to different levels of expertise, which was funny. The ambiance was nicer inside but there is seating inside and outside. The staff was nice and completed our order pretty fast. I loved the Spicy Shoyu signature bowl with rice as the base, spicy tuna instead of salmon, and seaweed salad added. Usually poke places can be stingy with the amount of protein they add but this place added the perfect amount! I also love seaweed salad so I was ecstatic to see it as a topping. My cousins also loved the Tuna Aioli signature bowl and we all finished the regular size, so it was great portion sizes. Can't wait to visit Houston again and eat the Spicy Shoyu bowl again!“

“Amazing pub with even better owner's. Me and my brothers stopped by once and they were going to close when we got there so they gave us each a beer free of charge and talked about the place and a bit about them. I'll definitely be sure to make this place a regular of mines.“

True Anomaly Brewing Company Brewery • $$

“Best brewery in Houston in my opinion. The staff is very friendly and the quality of beer is awesome. They do some very unique styled beers and they also brew some older styles that you don't see that much nowadays. We love their barrel aged saisons and farmhouse ales. They also brew fantastic Belgian style beers.“

“Space cowboy is one of our favorite spots in Houston. Why?They have a gianormous turfed patio (dog friendly) with TV's and swings everywhere so you can catch the best games or play some outdoor games like sand bags or beer pong AND there's a pool connected that you can enjoy on a hot summer day . BUT the best part is their Wednesday steak night which is the best biggest juiciest steak in town.“

“I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I ordered the breakfast burger and it was delicious. The mimosas were good too. We arrived early, but I must warn you that after 12p, it gets crowded. It would be great if they could add some extra shade to the patio area, as I imagine it will get very hot during the summer.“

“OMG!! The food!!! Sooooo good! Huge portions for reasonable price. The atmosphere is welcoming!! The service was cool too!! I just could not get past the food!! It was delicious!! I got this chicken salad, and I NEVER eat a leftover salad, I was still chomping on that salad later in the evening. The lettuce had gotten soggy, but that was my fault....lol Love this place!! It will definitely stay on my frequent visit list for eateries.“

“It's an East End staple. Not a ton of parking but you're going to want to ride share anyways. Friendly staff, plenty of drink options. We recently went for a BBQ pop-up, excited to hear Willow will be opening a joint nearby. Grab a drink and enjoy the nice patio on a gorgeous H-Town day. Entertainment inside & a video game. Love the decor and the vibe.“
