“It was meant to be we were trying to go to a different one originally and they were closed and we wanted soul food. So I googled again and found this place. And I am so glad we did. My husband got the oxtails. I got the fish it was delicious the fish was fresh. It was juicy. I wish they had fried okra, but the mac & cheese was good and so are the green beans. I almost forgot the little cornbread was delicious. We got ours to go. But even the atmosphere inside was nice. Definitely not trying to make this a race thing but I’ve been to soul food places and they look at me differently because I’m white and my husbands black but everybody in here was super nice and we didn’t get any side eyes. So if you wanna be treated like a human and get some damn good food, this is where you need to go 10/10 recommend.“
“Im so glad we tried this place. 10/10. We tried the fish, fried wings, Mac and cheese, fried okra, yams and mashed potatoes and we had the most amazing fried pound cake with ice cream. Everything was on point, I enjoyed the music and the ambience felt like I was at home in our kitchen. We’ll definitely visit again soon.“
“Sunday lunch visit with my brother, son and daughter in law was fantastic!!! We had fish and shrimp with greens and mac & cheese, oxtails rice & gravy with greens and mac & cheese and smothered pork chops rice & gravy with black eyed peas and fried okra. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious and more than generous portions. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. Support this amazing local business! You’ll be glad you did!!!“
