“We have ordered food every week for the past almost year. Everything we have ordered has been exceptional! We have used the catering for a 4th of July party that also had meat barbecue. There were 4 guests who were vegan, all the rest were meat eaters We had nothing left of Jana’s vegan food - the meat eaters also ate the vegan food. I am so glad they liked it but we had so much meat left over I told my husband that we need to remember that for the future- we will always ask Jana to cater our parties ( in addition to ordering weekly-we are dependent on that) but maybe leave the meat off since they wanted her food as opposed to the meat. “Sat on the patio on a Thursday evening. Service was good, although sometimes slow. We ordered a bottle of wine and food. The food all came out before the wine which was not ideal. The servers allowed us to sample a few wines before settling on a bottle which was nice. Charcuterie board was nothing special. I don’t think they go out of their way to find the highest quality meats. For dinner I had a half panini and half salad. Both were seasonal specials and were really good. The meatballs were decent. Monday and Tuesday board and bottle night for $25 is the best deal. Other than that it’s a happening patio but the food isn’t anything worth coming for.“

We ate at the restaurant and ordered: Spana omelet (listed under brunch but we had it for dinner) with greens, meat mezze, gigantes, moussaka, lamb wrap with lemon potatoes, spanakopita, mint lemonade and white wine that I can't find on online menus. Plates are great for sharing. The menu there is more extensive than menu I've seen online. Our entire party loved everything (save our picky eater who tried and ate much more than she does at any other restaurant!) The atmosphere is clean, cozy, intimate and warm. I foresee this becoming a family favorite.“

I lived in Asbury Park, NJ, NY, and FL throughout my adolescence before joining the Marine Corps at age 21….. I’ve grown up in huge Haitian demographics! I’ve had the pleasure of eating authentic Haitian food my whole life and I myself prepare some of my grandmothers recipes that I remember from my youth regularly. Making Haitian food is a lengthy process of love, art and science. You have got to know your stuff. So I don’t always have time to cook. So, since moving to Houston TX, I have been constantly searching for real Haitian food. I’ve been to a few places, that tried their best. I’ve been to one place that did a good job, but didn’t last long in the area they were in, and I found a gem of a spot in a food truck, but the owner sadly passed. I say that to say, in ten years in Houston, I have NEVER EXPERIENCED A GREAT AUTHENTIC HAITIAN ?? food spot. Until today!! Sonia’s Kreyol Kitchen is the epitome of Haitian cuisine. Staples like Diri a Djon Djon, Griot, piklis, pwason, and sauce poulet! Just to name a few!! And they were knocked out of the park…. No, knocked out of the country! The flavor profiles, the authencity, brought me back to a time where my grandma would make me my favorite Haitian dishes, in Haiti! Reminds me of my aunt’s and mom making Haitian feasts, when we lived in Jersey and Florida! I can confidently state, this is the most authentic Haitian experience in Houston… I’ll even go further, you won’t find better Haitian food in Texas and the surrounding states!! “Absolutely amazing first experience here! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I pulled up to the back door in a business park, but what I found inside did not disappoint. Their operation inside is impressive, with all of their roasting equipment and beans on full display. They had a wonderful selection of coffee, including a Swiss water decaf, which I’ve had trouble finding. When I purchased, I watched her package the beans, roasted earlier that day, in front of my eyes and add the appropriate stamps/labels to each bag. As far as the beans themselves, they are quite literally the best smelling beans I’ve ever encountered. Opening the bag at home gave the entire room the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee - heavenly! Plus, the beans are incredibly uniform with no over or under roasted beans included (a problem I’ve had with other local roasters). As you can see in the video, the beans made for a great espresso shot pull with an impressive crema and delicious, almost sweet and chocolatey flavor. Needless to say, this will be my new spot for fresh beans. Please go check them out and see for yourselves!“
