“I traveled from Oklahoma to the Crawfish hole to celebrate my sister passing her LPN exam.We ordered the ice chest special but didn't know you had to bring your own ice chest. “Finally had the opportunity to go to Tia Juanita's in Port Arthur last evening. We were seated quickly, offered watered promptly and given a chance to order. There is so very much to chose from so it took a while! ?. Once orders were made, it did take a few, but this was understood since the restaurant was full. We ordered the boudain balls which was really a treat. Our food came shortly after and my what a presentation. I ordered the Trio Tacos, blackened and they were amazing! My friends dishes were just as appealing. Although quite filled, we shared a bread pudding, my friend insisted. Pleasant evening, great food/service was enjoyed. The only issue was as the evening wore on the music was turned up quite a bit, which made it difficult to hear one another. Otherwise everything else was perfect...“

“Good food, unique service, beginner atmosphere. This place has so much potential I hope to see it one day after it grows bigger. To dine in you have to grab a menu and then go to the cashier and order your meal. The food spiciness is American level, so if you truly want spicy let them know. Overall the food was awesome though wish I knew about the spicy before hand (barely to non felt the heat). Over all would come back.“

“My daughter and I love coming to Mama Kim’s. Every Friday, they serve smoked brisket pho which sells very quickly because everyone loves it.My daughter is a vegetarian and eats the Pho Khong with cabbage instead of noodles (pictured). She also loves the hot jasmine tea.I typically have the pho but recently have been trying the #32 which is beef cubes over rice…(forgive me but I don’t know the name of it yet…I just know it’s wonderful). We also get a side salad.We love the atmosphere here as well, but more than anything, we love Kim! She’s so sweet and such a diligent person who always has a smile on her face. She really cares about her patrons.My daughter has known her since before she opened this restaurant and became so close from visiting her at the restaurants she has worked and now owns that she sees Kim as family.Kim, we love you and are so proud of your hard work. The customer traffic was high and folks were being taken care of and Happy on there visit. It caused My visit to be that much better. The New Management and Owner was very Sweet and a Nice Person that I could Appreciate about her. Her husband came out to help a customer to figure what type of jalapeno pepper used in the dish she purchased dine in. He shared the information to her and her husband at their table. Impressed. “It is a great treat to fall upon hidden treasures. Bayou Cafe in Vidor is worthy of you going out of your way to go for a meal. They have three menues; Regular, New Orleans, and Specials. I had New Orleans Shrimp and Grits and my wife chose Shrimp Gumbo with Potato Salad off the Regular Menu. We topped off that Outstanding with a seving of Mom's Banana Pudding. The outstanding meal was a superb mixture of spices and main ingredients served in a beautiful presentation. The atmosphere is clean and nostalgic with posters of timeless actors and singers mixed with musical instruments coupled with signs and placards. The server, Arabella, asked if we had visited before and after our negative response explained the menues, ordering procedure, and took us to the bar forvexplaining our options. “We came in as big group, with loud kids, food allergies and restrictions galore. They took great care of us with attention and kindness and prepared the food to perfection. We were ALL very happy with our very tasty food. All of the sauces were really very good as well.This restaurant deserves to be visited by anyone driving by or living in the area!Thank you!!Edited to add: I read the review below about their food being covered in butter. “Food is great but service is trash. We asked the waitress for refills on our drinks and lemons, she took more than 20 minutes that my wife had to get up and ask herself. Could bring drinks to other tables except us, She decided to come ask if everything was ok when my wife got up. Potatoes were so small that we asked if we could get more because that was super small for $1 each but according to her it’s above her pay to even ask. Didn’t even check on us after that. Hopefully the owner sees this and makes it right.“

“I've found the fast food at the name brand places too high and the food not five star neither...this Family run place has real good food at a good price. “I would like to thank Leonard for greeting me with a friendly smile especially since this was my 1st time here he helped me go through the huge assortment of combinations of plates that are the most delicious shrimp and fish that I've had in years it reminded me of when my grandfather would cook up our shrimp and fish It came out amazingly hot and fresh For a small little place it is a hidden gem I highly recommend this location their prices are very fair for the amount of food that you get the quality of food and the flavor there's approximately 10 tables to sit at and a large screen TV watch Thank you Leonard for my 1st time experience sir it certainly will not be my last“
