“This place is truly a find! The restaurant is in an old Sears and Roebuck Cashman house. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere, and the people make this truly a great experience. It’s definitely one of our go to places anytime we want to go out with friends, family, or just for a date night. The only thing is the burger was kinda bland, and the baked potato was undercooked, but their fried pickles were good. I do suggest ya'll try that whenever ya'll get the chance.“

“The general manager of the yacht club Ky was amazing. she help facilitate our reservations to ensure that my father-in-law who is going to have surgery was taken care of. She provided a picture of the location in advance so that I knew there was not going to be too much sun and plenty enough shade. The food was good, the fireworks were in a perfect position for us to see in the entire night was very nice we will do this again!.“

My go-to selections usually are the Half Chicken dinner, the baby back ribs, and the double barrel baked potato with brisket and fully loaded. The sides are prepared like homemade. My favorite is the fried cabbage, coleslaw, beans, and fried potatoes, to name a few.Don't forget the yummy desserts from custard pie, Pecan pie to freshly made banana pudding. I always grab an ice cream cone from their self-serve vanilla ice cream machine. I love all their food. The meats are smoky, fresh, delicious, and juicy. I highly recommend giving Soul Man a try. You will not regret your choice. Each location in Rockwall the staff is friendly and the store is very clean. Easy location access from the main roads and off 30E and W, but location is on the East side. Plenty of parking, including handicapped down front. Check their monthly specials.“

I had steamed veggies, smoked grits, and hush puppies! Let me say that the grits were amazing! Smooth and tasty!Our waitress was super sweet and helpful. Far too often when people find I do not eat meat they act different, but she did not. “I ordered a ribeye that was perfectly cooked, and it had a coffee based rub which resulted in an amazing crust. I was so impressed with the steak rub, I am going to duplicate it on my own steaks. Well done chef! Others at the table had a pizza and the hot chicken sandwich. Pizza was good with some char on the bottom. The pizza was a little soggy and needed about five minutes on a cooling rack instead of plated and direct to the table. But the pizza was still good. The chicken sandwich was good but it was served on white bread. The chicken sandwich should be on a bun, not the bread. All in all, I would go back if I stayed at the Hilton Dallas Rockwall Hotel again.“

“I was acknowledged and seated quickly. My server was great. He was attentive and courteous. My ordered was prepared with minimal wait time. The Caesar salad was really good. I asked for additional croutons and my server brought me plenty. The chicken fried steak was delicious. The gravy was flavorful. I wasn't a huge fan of the mashed potatoes. I didn't mention it because I didn't want to wait for a replacement side. The carrot cake was good as well as the Arnold Palmer. Just all around good experience despite the less than stellar potatoes.“
