“We stopped in on a Saturday around 12:30. They opened at 11:00. We ordered a three meat plate with one extra side and had plenty for two adults to share and meat left over. We got the brisket, turkey and ribs plus beans, cream corn and cabbage. We wanted burnt ends and potato salad but both were already sold out. The ribs were our favorite of the meats and brisket had a great bark and flavor. The corn and cabbage were the best sides. Cabbage was a bit spicy. The beans lacked seasoning and any juice. The plate came with just one slice of bread. There is a cooler outside with free beer which was nice. We ate outside at the community tables. The weather was nice with a good breeze but the flies were annoying.”

“I attended the Slaton Bakery Banana Pudding Festival on Saturday, September 5th.
Wow what a great turnout! Many great vendors and excellent puddings made with Slaton Bakery wafers. Lady i hard they had already raised over 30k for charity. Some folks brought antique and hot rod cars. My favorite was the '71 Fastback Mustang. Had some beautiful old tractors. Great venue for this event as there were many places to sit and be in the shade. Lots of kids activities. Slaton Tiger cheer team hosted a Strawberry pudding booth.
I suggest going with the family for the next one. I believe it is an annual event.
And be sure to stop into Slaton Bakery for many of the great treats they offer every day.”

“This simple looking eating establishment is anything but simple to the taste buds!
Our hostess/server, Chasity, was a delightful young lady who knew the menu well. She answered our questions helping us make the difficult decision of what to order. When checking on us during our meal, she answered more questions as we were complimenting the delicious sauces. The servings were generous, but we kept eating, practically cleaning our plates because everything tasted so wonderful. I will dream about Casa De Miguel until we return to enjoy the delicious food again. And... we WILL return, and bring friends with us!
PS... don't miss the chicken enchiladas with the sour cream sauce....or the ranchero sauce...”

“We heard about Hunt Brothers Pizza from watching NASCAR. There are not any near our home in Arizona so we found one on the route during a recent road trip. I guess they have more outlets than any other pizza and they are located in convenience stores. The pizza was delicious and the people working at the store in Fort Stockton Texas were simply delightful!”

“We always stop at this McDonalds when we are headed to the lake or out of town and they nail it every time, even complicated big orders. Fast and friendly to top it off 🌟”

“The food was hot and fresh. We miss the old atmosphere with music and roller skates. We do understand that it is dangerous and many people do not know how to skate but it was lost it's luster in that sense. The food is exactly what they advertise. Love the new fries, burgers are good, drinks are AWESOME. We miss the old hot dogs. The Texas dog, the Chicago Dog, the foot long coney used to be packed full, lots of cheese, the meat was much bigger and juicey. It is just not the same.”
