“Capo is my favorite hoagie place in the DMV and bonus that this location has fries. I looove their seeded rolls that are perfectly soft with a crisp crust. They slice their meats on site which is nice, so I can ask them to slice extra thin like I prefer. Their eggplant parm is great too, thin crisp slices. Staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful.”

Although the bar was fairly busy when we arrived, Gloria made sure we were comfortable while waiting and kept us informed about the next available table. Her attentiveness set the tone for a great experience.
Once seated, Gloria quickly walked us through the menu and took our drink orders. We started with a round of espresso martinis, which were expertly crafted and a perfect way to kick off our Casa Luna visit. Our table was located near a projector showcasing scenic views from around the U.S., which added a calming, cozy vibe to the space.
Following the espresso martinis, the standout cocktail was the Lychee Martini — fresh, flavorful, and quickly a favorite among the group.
A big thank you to Gloria and the Casa Luna team for the delicious drinks and the warm, laid-back atmosphere. It was the ideal spot to end an already memorable night. We’ll definitely be back!”

“It’s heating up in the DMV, which means I’m back to my warm weather go-to: Via Volcán’s Iced Flash Brew. It’s the perfect pick-me-up on a hot day—bright, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. That, or the Espresso Tonic, and you really can’t go wrong with either. Both are made with Via Volcán’s caturra bean, brought straight from their family farm in Panama and roasted in-house right here in Old Town. The medium roast is vibrant and fresh, with fruity notes, just the right acidity, and a smooth cocoa finish. This is hands down the best coffee in Old Town. And don’t forget to head upstairs! That’s where the magic happens (you can actually see where the coffee is roasted) and where you’ll find extra seating tucked away above the buzz.”

Crispy, not greasy and stuffed to the max with tasty filling. The chutney it came with was subtle, with a little sweetness and touch of spice. Ordered the garlic butter naan. It was good, thin and had good butter and garlic coverage. I prefer naan to be thicker and more doughy. This style of naan worked really well for the dessert chocolate naan with ice cream! Would order that every time! For main course, I tried the palak with tofu and bollywood special with shrimp at the restaurant. Both sauces were extremely tasty! The rice cooked perfectly. The serving sizes big enough to fill up but not so big where you couldn't finish. Good prices and I would say excellent value for what you get. The shrimp were big and juicy. The tofu soft and creamy. I wanted to try the spiciest dish on the menu and Raj asked me a few questions to learn if it was a good idea for me. I love spicy food and ended up ordering it to go and it did not disappoint. On a scale of 1-30, I ordered a 20 and it was spicy. Made my nose run and tongue burn, in the best way possible. Flavor was on point and spice level was good for the brave to try in the restaurant but better to take it home and have for lunch the next day. 10/10! Will come again!”

Many of my favorite dishes are only available during happy hour or on specific days, like the blackened fish only on Friday. Tons of games available to watch and many fans of different teams converging to root them on. The vibe is great on either the restaurant or bar side, and the regulars are great fun to enjoy company. The pastries and, cakes, muffins and croissants are excellent. Their homemade jams are wonderful. Their breads, quite yummy! I love their iced coffee , which has s a very subtle taste of cocoa. And, I am a very picky coffee snob. Service is sometimes a little chaotic, but the staff is super friendly. Weekend mornings are insanely busy- a reflection of how good they are. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. Jayla asked if it was our first time at Blackwall Hitch, which it was, so she went over the local favorites. She recommended the flaming crab dip and it was delicious!!! Jayla offered us extra Naan chips which I thought was generous for an upscale restaurant. I asked if she could bring us extra with a to-go box to take the rest of the dip. We also had the mahi mahi tacos and chicken-pancetta flatbread - both were great. Jayla often checked on us. The fried and grilled oysters were perfection and the raw oysters were fresh and DELISH! We stick to appetizers on this visit, after the oyster feast we moved on to the peel and eat shrimp, perfectly cooked and seasoned with Old Bay and the Mussels in the spicy broth! Do yourself a favor and get extra bread to dip in the broth, you won’t be sorry! We didn’t have them on this visit, but one of the must try’s in my opinion is the Lobster Poutine! AMAZING! The amount of lobster in this dish at the price point of under $20 is OUTRAGEOUS in the very best sense of the word! The whiskey offerings at this establishment are some of the best that I have seen. I literally discovered one of very favorite bourbons here, Jefferson’s Ocean! The selections range from your basic line up, interesting new finds and hard to get must try’s. The man behind this whiskey magic is Edward, the bartender/manager. Edward is knowledgeable and loves to talk about his offerings, so don’t be shy, ask questions and be prepared to learn a little something! We have enjoyed everything from their brunch offerings, seafood and burgers! Wine to whiskey and everything in between and have never been disappointed! We recently moved, and now have to brave 45 minutes of Beltway traffic (and that’s on a good day as we all know..lol) to get to this spot. Don't get thrown off by the spaghetti either. Filipino spaghetti is good with the balance of savory and sweet flavors. And who doesn't want a side of gravy to dip the chicken in or the biscuit, or to pour over the rice. Don't skip on the peach mango pie either. I wished there was one close to where I live.”
