After relocating here a few years back and trying many restaurants in the area this is by far the best Italian we have had in the DMV. Lucy is an amazing chef and host and their menu and specialities are some of the best we have experienced. So excited to have this as a dinner option downtown. We will be back soon!!”

Great service, delicious pizza. I love a thin crust and getting a single slice or two served up on a classic white paper plate really hits the spot when you want some 'za. They use very good espresso beans and their baristas are amazing. The place can get packed quickly and that’s a sign of why this place is so good. Lastly, it’s family friendly, which is a big plus.”

“I don’t ever leave reviews due to my laziness, but today I decided to leave my very first review for this lovely place! This is our first experience at The Study. I honestly didn’t know what to expect as the restaurant seemed quite small.
We knew about the l live piano performance but it exceeded our expectations. Derek’s performance was so lovely and he sings really well! We love musics like such so it definitely made our experience even better!

The food? It absolutely blew my mind - so healthy, clean, yet very flavorful. I can tell that ingredients were very fresh. We had arroz con mariscos and fried fish with avocado rice. I got obsessed with the avocado rice that came with the fried fish - rich in olive oil and lime (i think)! We absolutely cleared our plates leaving nothing behind. Chef Guzman gave us complimentary gaspachos and desserts for us to try and she came to ask how things were, which I thought was lovely.
Cocktails - delicious!! we had the one with coconut cream and another one with guava. SO GOOD! I think we’d even come back just for the drinks as well.

Many of my favorite dishes are only available during happy hour or on specific days, like the blackened fish only on Friday. It’s great to be able to take our kids here where on the bar side their noise level is drowned out by the patrons. Tons of games available to watch and many fans of different teams converging to root them on. The vibe is great on either the restaurant or bar side, and the regulars are great fun to enjoy company. Highly recommended and we will be there as a regular when you come!”

The menu has a broad range of Japanese appetizers and dinner options, and both the hot food and sushi are excellent. Sometimes at other restaurants, the hot food is better than the sushi or vice versa, and that is not the case at Hinata. The kitchen dishes and sushi are always delicious. I especially love how fresh the sushi dishes are.
The service is also gracious and attentive, and the restaurant environment is not loud and always clean.
Hinata is a neighborhood gem on every level!”

For my main meal I had the Charleston chicken, which was a solid choice. Well priced, tasty, and filling. Finally, I closed my meal out with the key lime pie, which was great. And, I am a very picky coffee snob. Service is sometimes a little chaotic, but the staff is super friendly. Weekend mornings are insanely busy- a reflection of how good they are. “Our server Jayla was awesome! She was very friendly. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 2 p.m. weather was gorgeous outside and the outdoor patio was well covered, but we decided to sit inside. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. Jayla asked if it was our first time at Blackwall Hitch, which it was, so she went over the local favorites. She recommended the flaming crab dip and it was delicious!!! Jayla offered us extra Naan chips which I thought was generous for an upscale restaurant. I asked if she could bring us extra with a to-go box to take the rest of the dip. We also had the mahi mahi tacos and chicken-pancetta flatbread - both were great. Jayla often checked on us. Do yourself a favor and get extra bread to dip in the broth, you won’t be sorry! We didn’t have them on this visit, but one of the must try’s in my opinion is the Lobster Poutine! AMAZING! The amount of lobster in this dish at the price point of under $20 is OUTRAGEOUS in the very best sense of the word! The whiskey offerings at this establishment are some of the best that I have seen. I literally discovered one of very favorite bourbons here, Jefferson’s Ocean! The selections range from your basic line up, interesting new finds and hard to get must try’s. The man behind this whiskey magic is Edward, the bartender/manager. Edward is knowledgeable and loves to talk about his offerings, so don’t be shy, ask questions and be prepared to learn a little something! We have enjoyed everything from their brunch offerings, seafood and burgers! Wine to whiskey and everything in between and have never been disappointed! We recently moved, and now have to brave 45 minutes of Beltway traffic (and that’s on a good day as we all know..lol) to get to this spot. So if you good food, attentive service and an amazing selection of whiskey are your thing, trust me when I tell you this is the place for you!”
