“The service was superb here! The staff were busy earlier today, but they were so polite nonetheless. The tall guy with glasses made sure my order was correct and was considerate. I feel very respected here. The atmosphere at this restaurant was comforting, knowing that everything is taken cared of. The food was great and delicious. I can see why they were so busy, everyone enjoys the high quality food and service. Will come back here next time!“

“Had dinner before the Oh He Dead concert on Saturday December 17, 2022. We arrived a little before our seating and immediately were greeted and taken to our spots. Ian was outstanding! He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!“

“most restaurants have some dishes that are the star of the show and others that are more in the shadow. but every dish we tried at albi could steal the spotlight at another restaurant. just when i thought the food couldn't get any better, it did--my widened eyes reflected the gustatory delight of my tastebuds, i was at a loss for words by the end.• started off with mango marinated napa cabbage and olives. both were packed with flavor despite their small sizes. the olives were especially piquant, and together with the napa, covered a duality if flavor profiles.• kibbeh naya: my first time trying this style of a dish, and in such a playful way with the diy lettuce cups. although i think there were too many vegetables and a bit of a simpler dish would've been better to bring out the yellowfish more.• coal-fired mushroom hummus: when the pita came out, my mouth genuinely dropped at how soft and fresh and warm the pita was. the hummus was silky smooth and the black garlic mushrooms was a sultry umami that the rich yolk cut into splendidly. however, i wish there was some sort of incubator that could keep the pita warm.• little gem lettuces: not at all like i was expecting. another eye-widening moment. so many flavors and textures to unpack with this one, creating a complex almost taco-like biting experience.• prawns grilled over coals: my second favorite dish after the lamb. a must order mezze. the shrimp was juicy and large and packed with so much flavor. the garnish was appreciated but honestly not necessary considering the tangy spiciness of the actual meat.• Bbq’d lamb kebobs: genuinely life-changing. first of all, the presentation was incredible. not dainty like most fine dining, but rather wild and natural—like a fallen log in a forest clearing. the moment i bit into the succulent lamb and it melted in my mouth, i knew that this was a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience. it was the moment i understood all the hype about Albi. (the actual kebobs i felt could benefit from a crunch factor.)• labne soft serve: i can never skimp on dessert and i don’t regret this one bit. probably the best soft serve i’ve had in the US in terms of texture and richness and level of sweetness. not at all icey and the salt contrasted through very well with the milky flavor.overall, while each individual dish were outstanding standalone, altogether they formed a cohesive meal that covered all the flavor profiles, textures, eating styles, and cooking techniques, reflecting the versatility and creativity of the menu and the talent of the chefs.“

“5 stars isn't enough!! From the moment we walked in until the end of our night we were satisfied. The decorations, food, and service was amazing! They even offered me a quiet place to pray :). Give this place a try-trust me (portions may seem small, but it was very filling- we ordered the bowl of fries, which came with a delicious sauce, CROQUETTES, fish burger, beef burger, and gnocchi pomodoro. It felt like we were in nyc enjoy :)“

“This is a pretty good place to eat! The food was delicious. Service at the bar was great! We ordered around 6 tacos and the enchiladas and it was super tasty! I will say it is on the pricier end, and portions are small compared to a typical Mexican restaurant, but it was perfect for us. 10/10 would come here again.“

“Wife and I live in DC. We go 4 or 5 times per year. Best dinning experience in DC. Don’t even read the menu. Let Bonnie great server, just bring you food and wine pairings. Blow you away. We usually sit at the upstairs bar. Chefs table was great as well. The wine flight is worth every penny. Bring your Amex!“

“So, if not the most iconic, this is certainly one of the most iconic restaurants in DC. Located just on the other side of the White House, it boasts a rich history, including menus from 1910 and other historical artifacts. The restaurant's design is stunning and truly lives up to the hype.As for the food, it's good but not exceptional. The asparagus campanelle was amazingly delicious and was my favorite dish. The meatballs were my second favorite. The chicken fettuccine was just average, and I didn't enjoy the spicy sausage garganelli. The Caesar salad and clam chowder were also good.Overall, I really like this restaurant for its vibe and historical significance. The food, however, is not particularly impressive.Parking: It’s near White House, so don’t expect much for parking“

“Visited this place in DC last weekend with family and it's the best! The pre-dinner bar experience was delightful with excellent martinis. The waiter made it special by asking about our celebration. With a party of seven, we tried different entree's and everyone was impressed with the quality and portions size. The waiter was helpful with menu suggestions. We felt right at home 10/10, definitely coming back !“

“First I would like to say that I wish there were more than 5 stars. My son and I are visiting the DC area for the Cherry Blossom festivities. My son has a love for Indian food ever since his trip to India. I have never tried Indian food ever. So this was my very first experience. From the moment we walked in the door our amazing experience began. The atmosphere is beautiful and so is the staff. Our server, April was super helpful and very knowledgeable. She has an amazing spirit and is wonderful with her job! The food... was very fresh, aromatic and DELICIOUS!! My son said the food was the closest to the food in India that he has had here in the states. For my first time... OMG!!! I am HOOKED! The only bad part is that I have to go back to Florida and wait impatiently for my next visit.“

“A consistently great spot in the neighborhood no matter what time of day. Excellent coffee drinks and pastry items (especially the Guava Pastry) in the morning, lunch options for a real meal, and cocktails and food for dinner. Food can be a little expensive depending on the dish, but there has never been a bad one! Cocktails are always creative and well balanced as well.“

“Genuinely outstanding ramen -- Menya Hosaki has a small, but mighty menu, with shoyu, tonkotsu, and tantan ramens. Each of their broths is remarkably flavorful, and their noodles are fantastic: they're springy and have a slight bite, but are also perfectly slurpable. They're thick, curly, and will put you to sleep instantly -- truly everything you want from your bowl of ramen!I was also incredibly impressed by their vegan / vegetarian ramen; most shops fall into the trap of making their veggie options super light and almost sad, with nothing to replace the flavor and richness provided by the meat. Menya Hosaki, however, embraces the veggies, loading up their bowls with a rich, creamy almond milk-based broth (never thought I'd say the words "rich and creamy" and "almond milk" in the same sentence), infused with sesame oil / paste and, if you decide to opt for their tantan ramen, a wonderful hit of their housemade chili. Then, they level up the bowl with a bunch of toppings, including kikurage (woodear mushrooms, which give the noodles a great crunch and act as tiny ladles for the soup), scallions, menma (bamboo shoots, which offer a bit of umami), spinach, seaweed, fried tofu (which act as perfect little sponges for all the glorious broth), and, of course, the ever-critical soft-boiled ramen egg.Menya Hosaki is hands down one of DC's best ramen spots for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. The interior of the shop is also adorable, with super streamlined, no-frills decor and an open kitchen / bar that almost makes it feel like you're at a ramen bar in Tokyo. They don't take reservations, which can be tough given how popular the restaurant is, but the line moves quickly and they're absolutely worth the wait!“

“Oyster Oyster,Thank you for reviving my faith in DC food scene by showing everyone that it doesn’t just consist of lame food trucks and awful fusion cuisines. Every single dish was amazing from top-down and perfectly curated. The asparagus course and the mushroom ragu were absolute show stoppers in a way that elevated the vegetables that I already loved so very much. Oh and the starter snacks and that marvelous broccoli bread pairs with the sunflower seed butter was just beyond. If I had a vegetarian meal like this every day, I’d happily go vegetarian full time. Thank you for an amazing meal“

“The food here is REALLY tasty, well seasoned and a great representation of Guyanese/Trini food. I ordered the saltfish fritters that came with a cilantro chili sauce- great. Curried Crab and Cassava Dumplings were delicious.. it was basically small cassava dumplings in a curry topped with lump crab, flavored very well. The Sorrel Margarita was so good, one of my friends got 2 and the other ordered it as her second drink. Even the mocktail- the Oolong Palmer, deeelicious. I was able to taste the oxtail which was tender in a savory and sweet sauce. The veggie roti and aloo and channa pies were also winners according to my friend. Ended with a rum cake with banana ice cream- wouldnt hesitate to get that again either. Indoor space was inviting and so was the outdoor patio. Our waiter was pleasant once he got things going but it was an.. interesting start. We could tell be was in a hurry from jump, but then it took a while to get our drink and app orders. When he was taking our appetizer orders, he got one person's order (out of three of us), I asked a question about a dish- he half answered and said "I'll be back"- thought he was going to ask the chef/manager my question but he turned around and took orders from a whole 'nother table!! We were so confused. He got another tables order, THEN resumed taking ours. Ive never experienced anything like it. But after that, it was pretty smooth. Poor guy was one of two servers for the whole place, it looked like.“

“My partner and I walked in at 6:30 PM on a busy Friday night without a reservation (I didn’t realize they had started taking reservations!) The host said the only options were bar seating or outdoor seating under heat lamps. We didn’t really want either of those options, but understood that since we didn’t have a reservation, we could not be very choosy. The host then kept looking at his reservation app and offered us a very nice table as long as we could be finished by 8:30 PM. We said that two hours is plenty of time! He said he felt bad that there wasn’t room for us but we assured him this was perfect and we would definitely be finished by the time he needed the table back. He was so kind and accomodating. The rest of the staff was also excellent (as always!) and the food was outstanding. I have always loved Purple Patch and will certainly return soon. Thank you PP team for being awesome!“

“Excellent experience, food was amazing and fresh, possibly the best in the city. Service was as great as well but you can tell the management haven't trained the servers well because when came to opening our champagne bottle or pouring it needed assistance from the busboy and glasses were clawed from our table to pour the champagne. Both not a big deal but if it was a mediocre place I would have expected it, but the sushi here is great I hope management spends a bit more than time in training their staff better. Will definitely be back!“

“Such a cute place! We look forward to weekends to pop into La Madeleine’s after morning errands. It’s really charming and cozy, and the food is always so yummy and filling. Nothing better than sitting by the cobblestone fireplace with a warm coffee and chatting with a friend/loved one, getting some work done, or reading your book.Only downside is the service, which can be spotty. I don’t think I’ve ever had a great costumer service experience here. But I don’t go here to be chatted up and I don’t mind just ordering and being done with interactions.. but there have been times where the people cleaning the bathroom (because one of the two is out of service), is chatting on the phone while we wait to use it (over ten minutes), or the don’t get our order correct and when we inform them that we only received one of the two things ordered, the manager comes out and tells us we didn’t pay?? Which isn’t a big deal but the interaction feels kinda weird.Go for the cuteness and yummy food, just bring headphones if you go alone so you don’t feel so awkward when interacting with employees.. and don’t drink a bunch of coffee because you may have to wait for the bathroom.“
