“I've been here many times over the years and the food and service is always amazing. Love their mimosa flight and Greek omelet! Anywhere else I go for brunch, I will try to recreate this omelet but it's always missing something. The Egg Bistro has it exactly right. If you're planning on going on Saturday or Sunday expect a LONG wait but it's always worth it. Tip: you can grab a coffee or a drink at the bar while you're waiting!“

“We went to BB yesterday and the service is quick and staff are great. Excellent biscuits. I had the Rockefeller and hubby had the Basic Biscuit with chicken. Glad we didn't order sides as portions are large and the biscuit sammies were enough. Highly recommend“

“We had lunch there to celebrate an anniversary of mine. I try to go to Inaka at least once a week. The food is delicious, fresh, fast, and always served with a smile. I feel like I am a member of their family because they always welcome me with open…chopsticks! On this day I had spicy tuna roll and salmon avocado (added cucumber) roll…so tasty! They also let us try a new salad dressing they are creating. It is similar to the dressing they usually serve but not as sweet and with a taste of citrus. I hope they put that on the menu. “It's been a long, hot minute before I last time I've eaten here at Taste! I'm so glad that I rediscovered this place for a fresh meal and different options. Staff wise, I could really say they have friendly personalities and they take care of their customers. They have a new menu item which is the roasted shrimp wrap! It comes with pineapple salsa, and two other sauces. Really good. I also got my favorite chips which are the Route 11 Dill Pickle chips and an apricot iced tea (unsweetened). The atmosphere is like Fresh Market mixed with a seating area. I love the artwork presented, in which you could buy them. I can't believe I forgot about how cool this restaurant is, and will be back because I work nearby!“

My coffee is always full and if I need something they are walking by often so it is easy to ask. I love the ambiance in the restaurant too. “On the recommendation of a friend who goes here regularly...YUM! We all had cucumber salad...super fresh and super huge portion. Definitely enough to split! Yellowtail Tartare was not what I expected but absolutely delightful. We also had the Hallloween roll, the Fire Dragon Roll and the seared tuna dinner. All were wonderful. Having eaten sushi all over the country in my travels, this place was definitely one of the best, and very reasonably priced as well. “I was debating whether to eat here or another Asian place nearby. This place had about 7 cars parked outside and the other place had zero cars so I figured this place must be good!! 100% accurate!! I'm not a big eater so just ordered the pork dumplings (8) and spicy friend chicken wings. The wings were BOMB!! Best wings I've had in a while!! It was so tasty and not too spicy. Although I didn't try the jalapeño topping. I was previously warned that the prep time for the wings is 15 which gave me a good expectation of wait time. So I ate the pork dumplings while I waited. The customer service was courteous. I watched them interact with customers and they're very kid friendly. The restaurant was very clean. I would 10/10 recommend this place.“

Overall it was good. I tend to like my hollandaise less lemony and the eggs were not cooked the same. One was runny and one was harder. I prefer runny so I mean if I'm nitpicking then i wish they both were runny lol so that's my 4 star over 5 I guess because I didn't loveee what I got. The manager was hustling as well himself and leading by example. Bussing tables, checking salad bar, and running food! Nice job there! I tried something new, and my wife and daughter got the same as last time. the said bar looked great and tasted fresh. The RB sandwich was perfect, and the kid enjoyed her pizza and, of course, her soft serve at the end. One of the highlights of our evening was the private room called the Captain's room, where we had our party of 10. It provided a cozy and intimate setting for our gathering. The restaurant also boasts a full bar, offering a variety of specialty drinks. However, if you have a specific preference, you can order anything from the bar. I was delighted to discover that the Black Pelican is ranked among the top 10 best seafood restaurants in Norfolk, VA. Their reputation definitely precedes them! And to make our visit even more enjoyable, live music was playing on Saturday evening from 6:30-8:30pm, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Our server, Ty, was absolutely wonderful. He provided excellent service and was attentive to our needs. The only downside was that he seemed a bit overwhelmed and could have used some assistance in bringing out the food quicker. Nonetheless, his friendly and professional demeanor added to the overall positive experience. Now let's talk about the food! The menu at the Black Pelican offers a tantalizing array of options. The Moscow Mule, champagne, mom's choco-tini, memorial mule, mermaid punch and Peach Tea were all delightful drink choices. As for the food, it received rave reviews from everyone at our table. The portions were generous, and the flavors were exceptional. The crab bisque, in particular, was a highlight, leaving us craving more. Although the food was fantastic, I must deduct a star from my review due to one minor disappointment. They ran out of bread, which was a bit of a letdown. However, this did not overshadow the overall quality of the dining experience. Among the standout dishes we tried, the Philly Pecan Crusted Mahi and the Scallops St. Jacques was simply outstanding. The Mahi was cooked to perfection and paired wonderfully with the red wine fig reduction. The Scallops St. Jacques, with its delicate cream sauce and golden puff pastry, left us craving more. The Rack of Ribs was another hit, with its tender, slow-roasted baby back ribs and house BBQ sauce. The smoked gouda mashed potatoes and fresh green bean medley complemented the dish perfectly. For seafood lovers, the Baked Shrimp and Crab is a must-try. The boat of fresh shrimp and jumbo lump crab meat, topped with beurre blanc sauce and baked to perfection, was a true delight. The harvest rice pilaf and fresh green bean medley were lovely accompaniments, although a bit more rice and a thicker cream sauce would have elevated the dish even further. Lastly, the Wanchese Fisherman's Risotto caught our attention as it was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. While the combination of scallops, shrimp, jumbo lump crabmeat, and bacon sautéed with tomatoes, sweet corn, and baby spinach sounded promising, the risotto itself lacked a bit of flavor. However, the crispy sweet potato nest added a delightful crunch to the dish. In conclusion, dining at the Black Pelican was a memorable experience. The restaurant's charming atmosphere, impeccable service, and delicious seafood dishes make it a standout choice in Norfolk, VA. Despite the minor hiccups, it receives a solid 4-star rating from me. We decided to try their new location and found the ambiance to be very nice with a friendly staff. The dining area is really nice and relaxing. Our food was very good. I ordered the Lamb Chops with collard greens, my son and daughter had the 1/2 Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas, Plantains and a side of the Mac and Cheese. Our orders got mixed up with a take out order so we had to wait awhile before we got served. That was my only complaint. I will be coming back“
