“Very cute place. Lots of parking and easy to find. Decor is nice. Nice comfortable seating. Country music playing. Very far right news on the TV with the volume on mute and no captions thankfully. I ordered the sausage and gravy biscuits with potatoes and scrambled eggs plus a sweet tea. Tea was sweet. Biscuits were big and fluffy and the gravy was good. The potatoes were under seasoned but cooked well. The eggs were under cooked in parts. I would eat here again. The food tastes homemade.“
“This whole review could be dedicated to the atmosphere, but that would do a disservice to the rest of the experience. Top level service, comfortable but classy vibe, and wonderful food. Each dish was nuanced, layered with flavor and texture. The crab cakes were indeed all crab, and the potato leek soup was absolute velvet, wonderful and creamy. The Devil's in the Details for dessert ❤️❤️❤️“
“I came here for a work event and we were directed to the event space. I got the short rib and a couple others got the salmon. Both were wonderful.Drinks were a little slow but heavily poured and made for a lively evening. The night was made by the service given by Rylee. She took the time to connect with everybody and made us all feel welcome while giving wonderful service. Her patience and expertise made the night a wonderful experience!“
“This was my first visit to Southern Kitchen. I had every intention of ordering an entreé, but there was so much deliciousness in the egg roll and so many catfish bites, I didn't have room for anything else. I did have a drink, and the bartender meant she wanted us to enjoy ourselves! I will definitely visit again, and I hope it's sooner than later!“
“Mimosas were delicious. Waiter was a doll. Long wait on a Sunday afternoon for brunch - expected of course, they don’t take resys. Overall great spot. I ordered the short rib with mashed potatoes and Brussels. So so good. My friend got the crab dip/craft beer/biscuits and gravy with a side of deviled eggs. She loved it.“
“First time here. Came for brunch. Food was delicious and great size portions. I had an omelet and the eggs were nice and fluffy and huge.Service was prompt and friendly. Will definitely be back.Dietary restrictions: No sugar free syrup. This would be a great addition for diabetic customers.“
“Easily the best BBQ I’ve had in quite some time. The brisket was melt in your mouth and the sauces (I tried all of them) complimented the meat so well. Can’t wait to go back and try the ribs. The table next to us ordered them and said they were top notch. We also had a large group with 6 children under 6 yo and ate in their dining room. Owner and staff took great care of us. We will 1000% be returning. Thank you!“
“Me and daughter had a great lunch and Jamilla our server was a joy. Greeted with a big smile and was so helpful helping us decide. The service was quick, food was hot, delicious and enough to take home. If your in richmond stop by. You won’t be disappointed.“
“I ate here last week. Not as good as I remembered, but still pretty good. Shrimp and grits were, good, not the best, but not bad 3.7 out of 5. Happy hour drinks were just okay too, the Paloma. I don't think I'll return anytime soon.“
“I took some friends out for their engagement celebration to The Roosevelt and couldn't have made a better choice. The waitress was great. The food was excellent! My girlfriend said it was some of the best scallops she's ever had. Shout out to Will who graciously treated the table to a nice wine for the happy couple!“
“Our dinner was perfect & the service was impeccable! Most of us got the specials, which were creative and well executed, but our daughter got the hanger steak and said it was the best she has ever had. We had a hard time deciding which dessert so we each got something and shared. The sticky pudding was my favorite of all! The ambiance was beautiful & comfortable. We highly recommend Shagbark!“
“For reference, I came to this place on a Wednesday afternoon at 4:30pm with a few of my coworkers. This is a very nice spot to come after work, I very much enjoyed my experience. The first thing that you notice when you walk in is the decor and atmosphere. It has this old timey ranch feel to it, and whiskey literally stacked to the ceiling! That was really cool to see, and gave a great first impression. There is one guy that was working that day, he ran the whole place by himself outside of the back kitchen. He was very knowledgeable on all the different spirits, the history, and was really awesome with giving suggestions. My only criticisms that he is the only one running the front of house, which meant that ask more people showed up, we definitely did not get checked on as often. I'm not going to blame him for this, but I do think more staff on the front of the house would have helped. The food was also very solid. I got the steak with potatoes and brussel sprouts. The steak was cooked very well, had a great seer and seasoning to it. The potatoes were also cooked well, the seasoning was very powerful (I think it had rosemary or something like that), maybe even a little too pungent. I had to dial it down with some ketchup, but it was still good. The brussel sprouts were also pretty good, I'm not the biggest fan of them, but my colleague said they were some of the best they ever had.Overall, definitely like this place, love the whiskey collection, will definitely have to be back in the near future.“
“Great options on food. I had the eggs Benedict and it was okay. Sauce was lacking a little flavor but still good. Atmosphere is great and the service is awesome. Would definitely suggest getting there early as the place fills up fast for brunch.“
“Strangeways has a great selection of brews and an inviting atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a drink with friends and family and they frequently host events, such as Blues Rock night and local food truck vendors. They’ve built up a solid community. Definitely recommend checking them out if you’re looking for a quality local brewery in Richmond.“
“Truly a five star experience! From the homemade cornbread, decadent pimento cheese fried green tomatoes, to the fish stewed in sweet potato puree and finally the the toffee cake with homemade ice cream; this place is an absolute treat. Excellent service and food.“
“We decided to stop in here after an overnight stay in DC. It was the best idea for food in a LONG time.To start off, the sweet tea was real sweet tea. It was not oversteeped with too much/little sugar but PERFECT for my southern heart!I ordered the catfish with greens and candied yams and was sorry for requesting cocktail sauce for the fish. It was real catfish that should be eaten with hot sauce (which I did) not some premade something. The greens had a slightly sweet savory that took some getting used to, but the candied yams helped with masking that when I did the "fork full of everything" thing.Dana was a charm and was right on time, very attentive without hovering.I'm already thinking about the hour's drive I'm ready to take to enjoy this place again.“
“Small restaurant attached to our hotel (Linden Row Inn). Perfect for late dinner after check in. Excellent service, good cocktails and the food was good as well. Husband loved his Fish and Chips. Two guests had the Smash-burger and said it was a bit dry. Could have used a special sauce. I had the autumn salad with shrimp. It hit the spot. Appetizers were excellent - fried oysters and green tomatoes were great.“
“So, I've eaten from this establishment a couple times and it only gets better each time. This time I had brisket, greens, red skin mashed potatoes, fried okra, and hushpuppies. I'm from NC and it gives me that taste of back home bar-b-q. The brisket was so delicious it melts in your mouth, the potatoes were good, the greens were good and cooked just right, and the okra were fried to perfection. I love my hushpuppies sweetened, and these were perfect. I was so ready to dig into this plate y'all ??♀️ I had already eaten 2 of my hushpuppies and took a piece of that brisket. ? Don't judge me! ??♀️ Just go try it for yourself. ?“
“I can't give it a 5 because the food is good but they run out of food. The customer service is good, but it takes forever to get it. I wish they had a way to order before you get there because otherwise, you are standing outside in a long line cold, hot, rain,or snow.“
“I came to Virginia on business travel wanted some soul food coworker told me about Jackie’s restaurant great atmosphere amazing customer service Liz was on point the food is everything fresh hot well portioned Pep greeted me this queen made me so welcomed definitely will be back“
“Love Big Herm's .. their old restaurant 'The Corner' was my parents favorite restaurant for a while.. so we ate there often when I was growing up! I still like to go to Big Herms! Great sides, them yams !! nah it's the mashed sweet potatoes ? ? ❤️?❤️?Kid-friendliness: It's limited seating , and mostly to-go I believe“
“Harold, Harold, Harold…..lemme tell you how I was driving through these streets of Richmond with one knee and my fork going ham on this food. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS and I am a major foodie so it takes a lot for me to be pleased. When I’m in the city or driving by I plan to stop by you have a customer for life from me! Great hospitality, prompt service, wonderful personality, and some of the best soul food I’ve had in a while. Thank you! For making my day!“
“To go order: ordered 2 2pc fish dinners. Food good as always. ONLY issue, I was charged gratuity on a pickup order. This has NEVER happened before. Granted, this guy was new, not okay to charge me gratuity. Its not like he offered to bring it out to my vehicle. Not happy...“
“Patrick's is a longstanding pillar of Southside, a smoky dive bar atmosphere packed with heart and soul. This place honestly captured my heart because the food was amazing and the people were so much more.Sit at the bar, order a cheeseburger, and talk to the regulars about their lives. There really is no other place in Chesterfield like Patrick's. I'll be back soon and will post some food shots after.Real, authentic, and absolutely wonderful.“
“This was my first time here, it was recommended me by someone I just meet. And I’m just gonna say that the food was the delicious!!! No complaints about any of the food that I had ordered. My son loved it and He’s one that is always getting me to try different places I will definitely be back. Everything was fresh. The bread pudding was awesome!! So flavorful and firm I enjoy tasting the vanilla definitely just everything that I had was perfect. I will be back. This is my go to hidden gem.“
“Extremely confused by any negative reviews of this lovely establishment. I truly think Southbound is one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in Richmond, and that’s saying a lot! My friend and I dined there tonight and have only rave reviews. The atmosphere is 10/10: classy, cozy, and casual-chic. We tried the pork nachos (incredibly flavorful and original), Caesar salad, burger (possibly the BEST I’ve had in Richmond, which is also saying a lot), crabcakes, and tiramisu. Everything was so.freaking.good. Our server was friendly and service was prompt and accurate. We have friends who extol the virtues of their cocktails, but didn’t try one tonight. Wine selection is solid. No complaints and we’ll absolutely be back soon!“
“What I should've said is Hollywood is a great server and human being because he is my friend. I shouldn't of posted that I was in the heat of the moment because he's out here really trying to make it and I know him he would never ever do something disgusting like that. He had me take it down because it was a body shaming post and I shouldn't of done that and I apologize but Hollywood is literally a good guy and this crushed him. I hated to see him in that state....“
“My husband and I had the brunch buffet yesterday and it was great. Everything was delicious with a great selection. Something for everyone. Looking forward to checking out the seafood buffet. Oh and the waitress was excellent!! The icing on the cake!“
