“The food here is seriously good. I had the butternut squash soup and it tasted just like my mom's (actually probably even better, sorry mom). The roasted sweet potatoes were out of this world delicious, it took everything in me not to beg for the recipe. My spouse had the party melt which he absolutely raved about. The prices are 100% worth it, as they must use local or fresh ingredients for everything. Honestly, I haven't had food this simply good and delicious since I visited Italy in 2013... and that's saying something. Never mind how cute the atmosphere is. With a small grocery fresh selection and HUGE wall of wine. And our server was just wonderful, so kind and genuine and made us feel at home.We were just stopping through town, but if I lived here I'd stop in every week.“
“This was our first visit to Kathy's. We visit Staunton quite often and don't know how we have missed this gem of a restaurant. Our server, Heather, was very nice and attentive. The food was top notch! Will definitely become a regular spot on our travels!! Thank you❤️“
“Loved the venue. An old flour mill is now a wonderful restaurant. Lots of locals eat here, not just for tourists. The neal starts with white, wheat, pumpernickel loaf served with fancy butter. We had an apple cinnamon butter..fantastic! We had the ribs and they are 'fall off the bone' tender. Very saucy with a tomato based and tangy sauce. We were back the next night for Caesar salads and an oversized prime rib sandwich. Both were excellent.“
“They have a decent variety of breakfast food. They could benefit from changing what they offer for breakfast as it is the same every day. The staff are always kind and helpful. Our glasses are always full, and the table never has a chance to collect dirty plates. We visit almost every weekend.“
“I did not know there was a DPO in Staunton! We have always loved the one in Lynchburg and thought it would be a nice lunch while we were in town. I got the Smothered Chicken, my wife got a Steak. Both were so juicy and flavorful and cooked to perfection (the second time). With only the one hiccup of wrongly prepared meat, the cook, our server, and the manager immediately fixed it and offered us some compensation. I have rarely ever received such gracious, cheerful, and inviting service in any restaurant. This crew made me WANT to drive 3 hours again for a meal. Awesome job!Parking: Small lot outside does not fit seating capacity. There is a large lot just down the hill (1.25/hr) or if you are lucky you might find a free 2hr space nearby.Kid-friendliness: Family atmosphere, very friendly cheerful staff. Large paper covering the table and crayons for kids and adults alike to let their creativity flow! The best ones make the wall!“
“It's literally a small shack, but that's part of the appeal. It feels like you're in your great-aunt's kitchen. I tried this spot based on the recommendation of a friend out in Bristol. I have the best friends. Their menu is small and interesting. They offer a variety of small plates, tapas-size pastas, veggies, a burger, and a handful of pizzas. The food is homemade and highlights the local growers and makers in the Appalachia. I note this because you can definitely tell. My meal: -- Ginger Margarita: strong with subtle spice -- Crispy Chicken Wings: sorghum and ginger vinegar, fermented leek ranch. The wings were crispy as described but I was expecting some breading; however, texture-wise, these were better than breaded wings. Some spice would've been a nice complement to the vinegar flavor. The ginger was missing in action. A little hot sauce (maybe Truff?) would've paired well. The ranch was top notch, so I was disappointed to see it missing (and one of the wings I started) when they packaged my leftovers. -- Ricotta Tortelloni: charred and smoked onion butter, sage, balsamic. Amazing. Perfectly al dente and fresh with subtle yet rich flavors. -- Farmer's Pie: I was in the mood for some pepperoni which can be added to any of their pizzas except tonight's special, the Farmer's Pie. Since the server talked it up so nicely and because specials are ephemeral, I ordered it without trepidation. It was so fresh and unique, topped with nettle pesto, flowers, veggies, and some cheeses. Fantastic. -- Black Walnut Gelato: a vanilla-based gelato. It wasn't as soft and creamy as gelato usually is, but I didn't mind. The walnuts are incorporated into the gelato so you won't find any pieces to actively chew. It gave the gelato such an interesting and complex flavor. I really enjoyed it and was sad I was too full to finish. I enjoyed the vibe overall, from the tunes, to the down-home decor, to the intimacy of the dining room. It's the perfect spot for a solo dinner or a date.“
“Vegetarian options: Most of the dishes did have a meat component, but there were some vegetarian options. I had the fettuccine and it was very good!Parking: After 5:00 on weekdays the nearby parking lot and street parking are free, otherwise they are metered in the parking lot and limited to 2 hours on the street.“
“Shout out to our waitress Ida we love you!!! And to the new manager Sidney. He's awesome. A no nonsense kind of man. Firm direct but extremely fair and professional. A much needed change. Keep up the great work!!!♥️Kid-friendliness: They treat our little grandsons like kings“
“We have stopped at this Chili's several times while traveling. The experience today was one of the best. Our server/bartender McKenna was awesome! She checked on us often even though she had at least 8 tables as well as several patrons at the bar. She was able get a special request into the kitchen for my burger bites and gave us info on local craft breweries that we may be interested in. Our food was delicious... chips and salsa, we split a triple dipper with burger bites triple and 2 flavors of chicken crispers. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“The other night we went to Red lobster they were so busy that our waitress did not have a whole lot of time to do things for us she had too many tables to tend to they need it more staff that night because they were packed but other than that that was an amazing place to eat the food was out of this “

“Store is clean and organized, staff is welcoming and friendly, food was good and not too expensive. Try the tots for your side! It's worth the up-charge. Hash brown casserole side is good as well. You can ask for sides of sour cream and ranch for dipping.Parking: Large parking lotKid-friendliness: They hand out crayons and paper kids menus with coloring and games.“
“Finally had the opportunity to eat here. Had stopped previously but it had always been too crowded. Enjoyed lunch on a Saturday. Was immediately seated. Ordered a ruben and potato salad. It was very tasty and fresh. The others I ate with had chicken tenders, a burger and vegetable soup. The also enjoyed theirs. The 2 kids meals also came with a cookie which they absolutely loved.Fresh homestyle food that won't break the bank or your wallet. Stop here when you can... You'll enjoy it.“
