This is my 5th time eating at Gyu Shige as my last two times were in the Rockville location. It was a busy night but my server was quick and responsive by bringing our requested meat dishes, and explaining their personal favorites for drinks and appetizers. Restaurant setting, in my opinion, has been the same, with conversations left and right --truly withholding the essence of Japanese bbq which is enjoying the fine meats cooked for you but also chatting with friends and family. You just have to understand that "you get what you pay for" meaning every dime you spend on this meal, the experience and food are definitely worth while. This interaction was really great for me, especially since I was exhausted from a long day of work and a rigorous workout. I was just really hungry!I ordered the pulled pork sandwich North Carolina Style (but the cole slaw is on the side) combo with a side of fries and a drink. I also asked for the Smoky Mountain sauce. The sandwich was really tender and delicious, and the fries hit the spot! Maybe I was just starving, but I greatly enjoyed my meal. One person had white wine, another a beer on tap, and it was a welcome suprrise that The Falls had two of the premium non-alcohol beers, both Athletic brand, one an IPA. “So good!! I ordered through Uber Eats and everything was packed so well. I had the sinigang, bbq pork belly skewers, lechon kawali, and sisig. I'm very picky about sinigang but theirs is the best I've ever had! The skewers were delicious. The lechon kawali was so crispy even though it had to survive a 10 mile drive. The sisig was really good too! I usually prefer mine a little spicier and vinegar-y but it was still great. I love all the pickles that come with it too. My family never ate pickles with our meals growing up, but it makes so much sense since filipino food can be so rich.No frills, just tasty food.
