“Classic sandwich shop feel with generous menu selections. Guy cooking was fantastic, friendly and kind, great with the kids and their weird requests. He made it much more fun for them!I got the roast beef cheddar melt and it was fantastic! Big enough for 2 meals for me and he even wrapped it up for me rather than just handing me a box.Keep in mind fries are not on the menu. Breakfast served all day!Street parking right out front.Limited but sufficient seating indoors.“

“Hey name is Alex and I own “Hair Force One” on Stratton Road and a client of mine gave me a gift card to West St., Grill… I finally decided to use it this evening being February 16 and asked my son to join me so we went… We were seated immediately. The waitress was awesome, the bartender was super friendly!… We ordered soup first that was dynamite!… The main course came and it was so good we inhaled it !…. Seriously, I do not cook whatsoever therefore I eat out and this restaurant rocks.!!….. Everybody has got to try this place, you will not be disappointed!!“

“The bar glows. Quite nice if you're exactly the right high. What's nicer is the service which was quite par at 7 p.m. on a very busy Friday night. What's even nicer, the food was prepared rather tastefully, seemingly by a chef who cares greatly about providing a quality flavor. It's hard to find one who won't overdo a pear salad these days.. Thank you, Roots and staff for doing what you do!“

Baxter's Restaurant at Rutland Country Club American • $$
275 Grove St, Rutland

“When our friend suggested having lunch here, my boyfriend and I didn't know what to expect. A country club suggest fancy but Rutland a bit of the opposite. And then when we entered we understood that it was a perfect blend of both. To be short, we really liked this place. They have a bit of everything, but focusing more on your typical bar fare, but done really well. In fact, these were probably the best wings I've had in a looong time. Another fact, we enjoyed our lunch so much that we came back a couple of days later for their burgers, which were also great. I think my favorite bites were definitely the nachos, though. It was exactly what you want in plate of nachos: large portion of melted cheese, meat and all of the toppings that come standard. I don't think you'll go wrong with whatever you order here.“

“Hear me out on this one…I have been a bagel enthusiast my whole life. I eat a bagel almost every single day and have done so for many years. The bagel with cream cheese that I ordered here was hands down the best that I have had in my life. The bagel was somewhat hard/crunchy on outside but also soft on the inside. The dough was just the perfect level of saltiness and the cream cheese at the perfect consistency from the warm bagel. I wish I could buy some bagels from them frozen online or something. I will be stopping again next time I’m passing through to Killington.“

“I finally stopped in here for a sandwich and instantly knew it would be good (I recently moved here from north jersey where they know a thing or 2 about good delis). There was a long line but it moved very quickly. (In my opinion a long line is a sign the place is good). The smell of a real authentic Italian style deli caught my attention right away after walking through the door. I got a large ham, salami and provolone which was INCREDIBLE. The bread, the meat, the toppings were all fresh. I walked out with a great sandwich, a bag of chips and a soda for about $15. Will definitely be back soon.“
