“Ordered the winter only lamb with Chinese herbal hot pot (羊肉爐) and steam cod with special bean sauce (豆酥鱈魚). The lamb has skin and tender all around. Very nice. Not huge amount but understantable as lamb with skin is quite expensive here. Flavour is correct. Special bean sauce add nice interesting flavour to the steam cod. Not many places has this dish. Overall, pretty good but price is definitely on higher side. Will come back for other food likely although have to order conservatively or else your wallet will be empty lol“
“The best hidden gem. If you like north style traditional chinese food, this place is as authentic as you can get on east side. They have the best 鱼香肉丝 shredded pork with garlic sauce. Its great with noodle or rice. The #2 on noodle soup menu was also unbeatable. The noodles are fat and chewy. The soup base was also made with healthy ingredients. I didn't feel greasy after eating. The portion was big and price is reasonable. The environment is calm and quiet. Great for families or people like a great chat.“
“03/08/2024 - Came in with a large group of (fairly loud) friends which I apologize for. The staff were kind, quick, and understanding.I'm vegetarian, and they had a good selection of vegetarian options. I went with the vegan pho. Maybe I'm used to other noodle-soup dishes, but I would like a stronger broth; It was very mild for my tastes. However, I still liked it, and all the vegetables were cooked well. Overall, I would recommend.“
“They have some authentic regional Chinese dishes and appetizers that you cannot find elsewhere (brain, liver, blood). The soup was extra spicy and oily (pro or con depending on you). Ordering is all done through iPad. No sauce bar. Recommend the dragonfruit paste fish cake. A bit pricey for the portion size“
“Flavors are different and authentic, not your run of the mill Chinese restaurant! Ambience is nice, has modern decor and very reasonable pricing. Would be helpful to have more pictures available - the dishes are definitely worth a go if you enjoy spicy food once you figure out what to order, cheers!“
“This is a simple no-frill straight-to-the-point restaurant with very authentic Xi’an food. Way better than the typical so-called Xi’an style chain-restaurants when it comes to authenticity, serving portion, and the size of the place where a good number of customers can actually have legit tables to sit at to dine in.“
“It was our first time to visit, lunch time on a weekend. Not too many people. We were seated in a timely manner. Service was great, waitress and food servers were very courteous and friendly. Also, very accommodating when we asked about food spiciness level. Menu a variety of food choices that would cater for customer’s preference but since this is more of a Sichuan cuisine, we should probably not try to adjust the food spiciness just to fit with our tolerance. Food overall is okay, just probably not too happy with the twice-cooked pork, there was an after taste to it. But then again to be fair we have asked for the non-spicy version. Parking over RTC park and ride is fine; half of the spaces reserved for permit holders and the half are free and available on a first come, first served basis.“
“We ordered green onion pancakes and noodles. Onion pancakes were best, we ordered them twice. We ordered vegetarian dumplings assuming it is vegetarian, luckily before serving our waiter checked with us and said it was not a pure vegetarian and skipped serving it to us. Good service, and tasty food but I wish they had more vegetarian options.“
“I've been a customer for years at the Teapot and cannot say enough good things. I've tried most things on the menu and always feel I have wonderful choices to try. When I can't decide, I can trust the recommendations of the staffVegetarian options: Although I'm not a vegetarian, this menu is extensive and I never miss having the meat. The food is substantial and delicious, portions are generous, and the service is attentive. I absolutely love Teapot and it's my go-to choice when I want to treat myself to something special.“
“Great little shop with tasty noodles and other dishes. I highly recommend the Nine Way Noodles if you enjoy mala flavor (sichuan peppercorn). The dumplings and wontons in oil were also solid. Service was great and prices were cheap. If I had to identify one weakness, I'd say the noodles were oilier than I would have preferred, making the meal feel very heavy. However, it was all flavorful so I still give them 5 stars.“
