“One of the best meals and experiences we’ve ever had. The food is top notch, and somehow the service still outdid it. Sophie was our waitress for the night and was phenomenal. We dined at Fairchild for our 10-year wedding anniversary and she made it a big deal. She mentioned to us that some people will split the entrees/pasta dishes into two shared courses which was perfect. We started with the unbelievable hamachi and mushroom tempura. Both were unreal. You can feel the precision in the kitchen. Then we got the Riso Nero (this is a guess on the spelling) and each piece of seafood was perfectly melted-in-the-mouth delicious.Next was the steak, which paired nicely with the truffles and other items that they put on the plate. We enjoyed it with the Brussels sprout side and fava bean side with the steak course as well. The Brussels sprouts were good but the fava beans outshined it. The herbs they are cooked with take it to another level. We finished off with the pumpkin panna cotta dessert and it truly could go toe-to-toe with some of the best desserts that exist. What a wonderful experience and we can’t wait for another opportunity to go back!“
“Ordered delivery from North and South and we were blown away by how good the food was.The barbecue (we had the KC ribs) was excellent, the grilled shrimp was great, the gumbo was rich, the salmon was good, and all of the sides (hush puppies, baked potato, corn muffin, cheesy potato) were amazing! The only thing that disappointed was the jumbalaya*, but it was otherwise an excellent meal. We'll definitely be back, hopefully in person next time!Edit: I was thinking of the jumbalaya, not etoufee.“
“I first came to Tempest last year on business and it absolutely blew me away. The food is out of this world, especially the scallops (which are some of the best I have ever had). The service is impeccable and you feel like you have been coming here for years on your first visit.I just came back to Madison for work and had to see if lightning strikes twice. Somehow they managed to get better since the last time I visited. The food, including the scallops, was even better than I remembered and I had dreams about them over the last year. The service was, yet again, amazing. Issac was my bartender/server and he was engaging and friendly despite the happy hour rush. Amazing service yet again. The staff here is fantastic and that, coupled with the food makes this a “must visit” when in Madison. I will look forward to my next visit with bated breath because this is truly a fantastic stop that I won’t miss anytime I am on in town. Come here, you will not be disappointed!!!“
“If you enjoy outstanding service and fabulous food, Johnny Delmonico's should be at the top of your list. Easy parking and delicious cocktails too (try the pear martini!!! It's quite possibly the best cocktail I've ever had.) Every server I've had has been excellent. If you are lucky enough to get Cary, you are in for an extra special treat.Parking: There is a parking garage adjacent to Johnny's. It's easy and very affordable.“
“Fantastic selection of rotating items with fantastic and knowledgeable waitstaff. Bluntly, some selections on the menu are better than others but everything is still good. That said, the fact this restaurant rotates items so frequently is an open invitation to frequently return. I've noticed despite the frequent rotations that they always feature a vegetarian item. Occasionally features exotic meats like kangaroo. Would highly recommend to anyone. The humble butterscotch pudding is surprisingly one of the single best desserts I've ever had.“
“Stopped in today to get some sushi grade tuna. The guy working was fantastic, and very helpful. Gave advice and tips/tricks for making sushi as it's my first time trying. They had everything we needed and the pricing was reasonable. Will be going back again“
“I had a really nice experience at La Pollera Colombiana the other night. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the menu is huge with plenty of options, and the restaurant itself is really cute and well decorated, creating a trendy but homey atmosphere. The bathrooms were very clean too. We happened to be there when they were playing live music which was really fun! I got the salmon in passionfruit sauce which was incredible and flavorful. My partner got chicken and said it was perfectly cooked. We each got huge portions and left feeling full and satisfied. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant :)“
“Me, my boyfriend and his brother got together for a nice dinner in Madison! I’m from the Milwaukee area so we wanted to find a place with great food and a view for a special occasion, and this was THE best choice! One of our party’s flights got delayed and they accommodated our reservation change! We ordered pork tacos, the chef special gnocchi, calamari fries, four-cheese flatbread and the pork belly bites. Everything was absolutely amazing and so tasty, with more flavor than expected! Everything was piping hot and delicious, and our waitress was awesome. The atmosphere was lovely with an amazing view of the capital building. It was an amazing evening, thank you for such great food and service!“

“We returned to celebrate our impending birthdays together and were, once again, very happy with our decision. We had a 7pm reservation on a Saturday night that was promptly honored. We were offered a table or booth and opted for booth. Justin, our server, introduced himself with a contagious smile & great attitude. He took our drink order & gave us a moment to talk & consider our options. We chose the Maryland crab cake, Caesar & a mid rare 32 ounce in house dry-aged, bone in porterhouse steak. The crab cake arrived in minutes. It was on the small side and shared the plate with a delicious fennel salad. We shared the crab cake appetizer. The cake had a perfectly toasted lightly breaded exterior with a "floaty" lightly connected and perfectly seasoned interior with a remoulade dollop on the side. Absolute winner. The Caesar arrived as we finished off the crab cake and was not long on the table. Lightly creamy Caesar dressing with chopped iceberg leaves (no crotons). Poof! Gone!! We then were served the steak. Perfectly cooked with an excellent Maillard reaction crust, seasoned nicely but arrived room temperature which was only slightly disappointing. Justin asked what we thought & I expressed exactly what I've written here. Without hesitation he offered to fire up a new one, but we declined as the flavor was spot on. The manager came over to apologize, touched the platter (cool to the touch) & appreciated our feedback. Justin returned to communicate that desserts & dessert cocktails were on the house. We were impressed by the generous offer & accepted. We had the bananas Foster and cranberry creme brûlée with a cappuccino martini. Justin presented the creme brûlée & went about making the bananas foster table side. Fun show with very delicious results (I found the banana bread wanting though?) The brûlée was, apparently, too delectable to share. The martini was terrific as well. We ABSOLUTELY made the right decision in celebrating at Rare and will MOST CERTAINLY return again without a celebratory need. A wonderful experience again!“
“Fabulous birthday supper For my 64th birthday I was treated to a delicious steak dinner. French onion soup was delicious. Wedge salad perfect with the crudités. Fresh bread. Ginger mock tail was perfect. Then the New York strip steak with baked potato. All done perfectly. Ended the meal with a huge piece of chocolate cake with whipped cream. Our server John was very attentive and didn't miss a beat. I give 5 stars.“
“Tasty lunch buffet with plenty of options. Food was hot and fresh. The dining room was occupied but not so busy that we couldn't find seating. Tasty desserts, not cloyingly sweet. I liked the fish. Goat curry had nice flavor but was a little tough. I liked the spinach, the pickles, and the black lentil dal. Darjeeling tea turned bitter but tasted good at first. The naan was awesome. The chicken was nice and moist too. Good attentive service. Will return.Vegetarian options: Some paneer stuff, spinach, coconut soup, naan, dal, beverages, desserts“
“SEAFOOD WAS BOMB! Amazing prices for how expensive seafood is nowadays. Flavors and spicy perfect!! Hot and stays hot in the bag how wonderful well worth the 2 and a half hour drive! Thank you for making my birthday weekend enjoyable and that's all I wanted was a nice delicious seafood boil! We came to the right place for that!!! ❤❤❤“
“The shining star here was the service. I felt taken care of from the moment we walked in the door. Excellent attention, demeanor, and timing on behalf of the service staff. We ordered the Cajun Roll (pictured) and Cajun Wings for appetizers. The presentation of the roll was magnificent! It was also fantastically delicious! The wings were piping hot, meaty, and very tasty. Our dinner was one of the combos with shrimp and crab legs, but we added a lobster tail. Everything was so good! Especially the "all 3 sauces" served "hot".“
“Food was hot and as fresh as can be. Order at the counter for to go or there is a small, clean dining room to sit. The meal was brought out to me, hot and delicious and quickly. I would highly recommend, a hidden gem. Also you can tell the kitchen staff works hard to get the food out quickly.“
“The one and only is a fine madison, wi restaurant in Monroe street. Parking in the street is usually available before 6 pm. After 6 pm you may need to drive into nearby residential streets. The food is consistently delicious except for most of the desserts. The Keylime pie is always delicious and has big fans. I love bread pudding, however, it was cooked in a very different style that rendered it dry and more crunchy.l - not what I preferred. The appetizers are delicious and varied. The entrées are fantastic most recently the special chicken Parmesan was incredibly tasty and very nicely breaded. I enjoyed the polenta previously, and they were very kind to add some pork belly on top of it, which is a delicious twist. as a homage to prior establishment in the same location, brasserie v, they have a delicious collection of Belgian ales. For those that like brown drinks, they seem to have a pretty good collection of rye and bourbon as well though I haven’t tried it overall this is a great new favorite restaurant and the prices are reasonable for a medium higher end restaurant.Parking: You can generally find parking on the street pretty easily before 6 PM. Things get crowded after six and you’ll have to look for parking on the side streets. You can find parking on the residential streets about one to two blocks away pretty easily.“
“Some of the comments are petty and unnecessarily harsh. This restaurant is one of the few bastions of authentic Chinese food in the Madison area. I order from Nani's frequently and have never had an issue. I was really impressed by their dim sum offerings- definitely the largest and best quality in Wisconsin. I had been craving preserved egg congee and couldn't find it anywhere else. They have soup with fish air bladder which I have also never seen in Madison. If you nitpick about not having a three star Michelin experience, you don't have realistic expectations. Complaining about rising prices and "smaller portions"? The cost of raw ingredients doesn't stay the same forever! If you've ever been to SF, things are twice the price and half the volume. These prices are totally reasonable- The restaurant is just trying to get by. People are so short sighted- Before you leave a harsh review complaining about the "ambiance" in a casual family run restaurant, maybe think about the consequences. If you don't support restaurants in your community then they will go away. Remember not to complain when there are no decent Chinese food options left.“
“I have been going to miko poke for years. They just changed their menu and somethings impressed and some fell short. The new edamame hummus is tasty but the cracked serving size is doesn't get you 1/2 way through and the portions aren't that big so it was a bit of a disappointment. I would have like to have some veggies for dipping. If you are dining in be prepared to wait as your orders don't get priority so it can take longer than you think to get your food. The new sauce formulas are good. The bowl presentation is nice.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan optionsDietary restrictions: They go out of there way to make it easy for people with dietary needsParking: Depending on the day the parking lot can get quite full“
“Wonderful experience for dinner at Salvatore’s, E Wash & Livingston, Madison, WI.Crispy Calabrese Tofu was exquisite. Pizza great! Manda’s service was above and beyond. She was great with my 7 year old granddaughter!Vegetarian options: Crispy Calabrese Tofu exquisite!“
