I had the half chicken special- super moist, covered in country gravy (choice of having it on the side) & mashed potatoes (needed salt) but real potatoes and good when salt added. Service was impeccable, we were there for lunch. Wheelchair/walker accessible back door. (would be a long walk). Outdoor space looks amazing- I plan to go back when the weather improves. Service was freaky fast. Bourbon choices galore & bourbon old fashioneds on tap. (I will be trying those next visit too!). Bonus -gambling machines too.“

“I stopped here after going to Sendik's for some fresh seafood based on the word of mouth of an employee I meet from Sendik's in my hang out spot that said it's always fresh and since I haven't been here in years I noticed this pub in the strip mall. This would end up being the new restaurant of the week the following weekend so I stopped by. The place was absolutely dead on Saturday around 2pm with only one table of 3 d guys having no food and just beers over a business lunch it seemed so I'm thinking the food is not all that. Since nothing is going on I order a Gin Rickey and and looking at the dark dead kitchen I ask if the kitchen is open and I was handed a menu and told yes. I was going to do a burger until I saw the every day 3 piece cod fish fry and thought every day fish frys are super rare in the Milwaukee area and it's been a while so I ordered it fully knowing that it would be all frozen food for a reasonable $11.50. The place is dimly lit with a pool table, games, music machine, bar, tables etc etc and not really a dive like a reviewer said by Milwaukee standards because I have been to some super divy bars. My food came quickly and it was hot cooked to order because I was the only person having food and the plate looked good with three average golden cod battered fillets, seasoned frys, coleslaw, rye bread and tarter sauce. The seasoned frys were great because they were hot out of the fryer and seasoned well with a thin crispy shell and soft center. The rye bread was fresh and buttered and I made a fish sandwich with it. The coleslaw was commercial and cold/crunchy which was a nice texture vs hot soft food. The battered cod was like a beer batter with very average size pieces that had a crispy batter and tender moist flakey cod meat inside. Overall was it the best most favorite fish fry, no. Was it a good fish fry on a day where you can hardily get a fish fry at all, yes. Was it good at the $11.50 price point when you consider that the fast food sandwich combos are in that ball park and not hot fresh from the kitchen just cooked. Would I go back for the fish fry on a day that's not a fish fry day, yes because it satisfies my fish fry crave.“

“We came here for some pre-dinner drinks on a Wed night and it was so cozy and festive, and not too busy which was a plus! The bartender was so sweet and gave me lots of tasters before I decided on the Vienna Lager (so good!). The lounge area with chairs and a couch set a great mood to enjoy a couple beers after hitting the Christmas Market. They have the coolest mapping of beers on the wall, honestly so informative to understand what beers come from what family (with specific examples of each one) and what glasses to drink them in. “It was our first meal after flying all day. We ordered the hot garlic wings (extra crispy), French fries and a side salad. As far as flavor, the wing sauce was unique and tasty. “Da Bar is a fun bar wth pleasant staff. The new bar up the street called Da Bar and Grill sells the food. Ive never tried the food there yet though. On sundays for football the owner has free buffets in back area from Rupena's which is a very nice gesture. Stage area in back for bands and party room to rent out if you want to host something there. Little dingy in back tbh could use a new floor as well but other than that its good. It's your typical bar - a step above from a "dive" bar, in my opinion. The staff was nice and we got our drinks quickly. The gin and tonic was reasonably priced and tasted as expected. Overall a perfectly good late night drinks option with friends, but it was very very loud. The music was blaring and the people were trying to top it with their conversations. This is definitely not the place to go if you want to have a conversation with your group without yelling. They did have darts and some slot machines in the back.“

Pickup fish fry isn’t usually something we do (thanks kidney stones for ruining our night) because it gets soggy but tonight we had to and it was really good. They packaged everything separately so the tartar and the slaw weren’t warm sitting in the container with the hot food, I had the combination platter and the package the baked cod in a separate soup container which was great. My husband had the blue gill and really enjoyed them as did our 5 year old. The food was all really delicious and I can’t wait to dine in next time. The place has this medieval theme with a suit of metal and other pieces on the walls. The place has a small bar with a few tables, gaming machines etc. They have a unique shot game with numbered brown paper bags and a dice you throw which determines what you get, you have no idea of what you get and the bartender doesn't either. A 1 one a 6 on the dice gets you your choice of the brown bag and 2 through 5 you have to drink that bag. They also have a card game Tommy was playing with customers that I have never seen that people were excited to watch and in the end took $1 from the customer. Tommy was my bartender who knows how to pour a drink but didn't understand the gin Rickey and made it with a lemon after I told him twice how to make it, he promptly fixed that. The place is all regulars coming and going who don't live in the neighborhood because one guy lives in my neighborhood so people make the drive. Overall it's a unique dive bar with decent prices and friendly people.“

Brian was bartending on my visit and it was all regulars but they didn't make me feel like an outsider. I ordered my Gin Rickey and no one in the bar had ever heard of it, no drink for Brian today but any bartender who can make one gets a drink on me. The place is your typical WI dive bar with a theme of bobble heads because the owner collects them. The staff was very friendly and the Gin Rickey was very refreshing. This place feels like a second home when you walk in...it has that classic Wisconsin bar comfort: neighbors having conversations at the bar, Packer memorabilia on the walls, sports games on TV. When you go to the right, you enter the restaurant area, which again has a nice second-home feeling. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and my boyfriend ordered a steak and mushroom sandwich that was the special of the day. OMG, both were amazing! The bar is a typical Milwaukee dive neighborhood bar and nothing fancy with a pool table, flat screens darts etc. as far as food goes it's typical frozen pizza only I'm told.“
