“Parking is a hassle. BUT this place is so clean and the water is not too cold or dirty. It was our 1st time there and will definitely be coming back. I’m from Chicago and don’t really like going to our lake but we all had so much fun. There were a lot of lifeguards around, which gives you some comfort.“

“It is New Year's Eve 2024. We just got home from Michael's On the Lake and my husband ordered the special 44oz Porterhouse and it was divine! This steak was at least 3 inches thick.....but maybe more, so flavorful and melted in our mouths. (He shared a piece with me.) He ordered it rare snd it came out perfectly. All the food was fresh. The music and atmosphere were classy and subdued. The wait staff is well trained and friendly. The old fashioneds were great too. Michaels on the Lake is a jewel of a restaurant. “This store frequently has very slow service, even during off-peak times. Possibly short-staffed? Other fast food restaurants in this area seem to have same problem so not just Culver's. Food is always good quality and staff is nice. Just slower than normal for a Culver's. Waited for about 15 mins for a simple order from drive thru; single cheeseburger, fries and a drink; nothing out of the ordinary.“

“Great food, but Not Sure For a Quick Lunch
We were driving down 173 the other day, saw their sign and tried them out for lunch. You enter into a fairly large dining room with many tables. To the left is a large bar. There was one other couple and two groups of 6-8 seniors having lunch. We later saw that the seniors were bridge players and started playing cards after lunch. Only one server/hostess was working and she worked hard. She took our drink order, ice water for me and fresh brewed Iced Tea ($3.00) for my wife. We then took to studying the expansive menu. It is just like the menu at Dockers down in Fox Lake. You name it, they have it. We see our server refilling drinks for the other diners, bringing out some appetizers, etc. and finally taking our food order. We were in no rush and just sat and talked. Then we saw our server bringing meals out to people that were there way before we got there. Not a good sign as there was another large group still to get their meals in front of us. Our drinks got refilled and we sat some more. Our food finally arrived after an easy half hour, maybe longer. She did explain that it was only her and the cook so that's what took so long. The meals were worth the wait. My wife had the Dockers Style Marinated Chicken Plate ($15.99) with fresh fruit. A warm pita was topped with a juicy and tasty Greek seasoned chicken with a side Greek salad and several slices of fresh fruit. I had the Grecian Salad with Chicken ($15.99). Prior to bringing out our meals, our server asked if I like anchovies on my Greek salad - I sure do and she loaded me up. The salad was composed of plenty of the usual Greek salad ingredients and a very tasty dressing. This could easily be shared. Our meals were excellent, fresh and flavorful! Everything we saw go by looked delicious and we would go back again if we were in the area, just not if we're pressed for time.“

“It's been awhile since we had visited Red Oak and we had a delightful return to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We each had a cocktail - the Red Oak Paloma for me and the Kinnickinnic Sour for Spouse. Both were delicious and refreshing. I had the Roasted Chicken with Pumpkin Puree & Risotto, and Spouse had the Butternut Squash with Quinoa Stuffing. Both were delicious and well prepared. We will look forward to returning more often.“

“I stopped by here on a whim last Saturday night because a friend recommended it to me. it's a quaint little joint in a 'middle of nowhere' kinda town. I didn't know what to expect when I walked in. Not too big, well lit and a friendly crowd. I was told that I had to try the food. Whenever I first try a new place, I usually try a burger of it's on their menu. Lots of smoked meats are available here as well! Brisket, ribs, wings etc. Quite the selection! I got the bacon cheeseburger and omg! It was BANGIN!! Come hungry too cause it's a half pound of mouth watering beefy deliciousness! The crinkle cut fries are an awesome addition to this monster burger as well. 😋 I ended up staying longer than expected as some people that I knew showed up and it was worth it! Great time here. I'll definitely be back (if they allow me) Did I mention the awesome bartender? 😎 Highly recommended.“

Chef Adrien totally understood the “keto” assignment with my no bun request. He went above and beyond adding the lettuce bun as his own touch. Burger was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Monday is their pasta special - choose your pasta, sauce, soup or salad and garlic bread. Highly recommend checking them out! 5 stars!“

“This is “THE” place to have a wedding . Donna was great from the start. Planning was made easy with their prices and packages all up front. When you get married at the venue they provide you a wedding coordinator for the day. She was priceless. They setup everything. All you do is show up , enjoy, and go home. The staff takes care of everything else.“
