“Wonderful experience for dinner at Salvatore’s, E Wash & Livingston, Madison, WI.Crispy Calabrese Tofu was exquisite. Pizza great! Manda’s service was above and beyond. She was great with my 7 year old granddaughter!Vegetarian options: Crispy Calabrese Tofu exquisite!“
“Cocktails and Misto salad were fantastic. Pizza was ok. This was our first visit and we’ll try pasta next time. Waitress was great.Parking: We had a 5pm reservation and the parking lot was already full. Give yourself enough time to hunt down a spot in the neighborhood. Not too difficult“
“While the food and service were great, the music just did not feel like it meld well with the dining experience. The bar was rather too rowdy and it distracted me from fully enjoying my meal. This is an ideal place for couple/family dining rather than solo dining.“
“Best sandwich, #1 Italian sub. Today I bought some “garlic toasties and one was missed marked. The gentleman at the register caught that it was missing marked and corrected it immediately. I was very pleased that he was paying attention and not just going through the process. Love this place.“
“A while back, a co-worker told me about the sandwiches here and I waited far too long to actually try them. Them. These are legitimately among the best sandwiches I have ever had. They cost more than other places where you could get a quote. Similar" sandwich, but there is no similar sandwich. And I'm going for the veg sandwich next time.“
“Really good pizza at a fair price. We got the Salsiccia and the Lombarda. The Salsiccia was definitely the better pizza but both were very tasty in different ways. The tomato sauce shines through! Novanta is a great option when you want something different than the greasy standard pizza.“
“I stopped here for the first time because I had an appointment a few buildings next door. What a nice little restaurant. It is super family-friendly, and you can tell the food is authentic. Excellent Service as well, they were super accommodating for handicapped people Very friendly. I really enjoyed the pizza I had there today.“
“Enjoyed the scampi, although it was a little spicier than expected. The chicken parm was just fair. The chicken was mostly breading and dry, there wasn't enough sauce, and the noodles were very dense and chewy. My husband and I split both the dishes we ordered and we both only took a few bites of the chicken parm and had the rest boxed up. Not sure we'll get back to it, maybe we'll add more sauce at home and try it again. Service was great. We said that we planned to share our dishes and everything came up "pre-split," with no added charge. We very much enjoyed the complimentary (special occasion) cheesecake!“
“Fantastic selection of rotating items with fantastic and knowledgeable waitstaff. Bluntly, some selections on the menu are better than others but everything is still good. That said, the fact this restaurant rotates items so frequently is an open invitation to frequently return. I've noticed despite the frequent rotations that they always feature a vegetarian item. Occasionally features exotic meats like kangaroo. Would highly recommend to anyone. The humble butterscotch pudding is surprisingly one of the single best desserts I've ever had.“
“Solid choice for Italian food. Everything we ate was good. The pizza we had was tasty. Our pasta dishes were all good. We had the calamari for an appetizer, and it was kind of flavorless, but at least it didn't taste fishy. I think the breading could have used a bit more seasoning. The atmosphere is kind of fun, probably looks the same as it did in the 60s. Definitely the kind of place you can bring the whole family or a date.“
“From the minute you walk in you are treated like family. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The owner, Sal, made sure we were taken care of. The food is fresh, authentic and homemade. The wine selection is second to none. The atmosphere is very lively and fun. Absolutely love this place and will definitely be back! A+++“
“Love Johnny’s Italian steakhouse! The atmosphere is warm, comfortable and cozy. The staff are awesome (Niko helped me today & he is such a sweetheart) and the food is amazing! Every single time we’ve been there it’s been perfect!Parking: You park and walk in. As easy as that!“
“Really quiet when we were here, populated but not busy or loud. Very very nice customer service, a little pricey but it's very good authentic food. Got Ravioli Carne, great spicy sauce and really good serving size, added a Caesar salad for $5, also very good. Creme Brulee was also delicious, not too sweet, and the canolli cake was magnificent, also not overly sweet, great balance between canoli and cake“
“We just went for the first time, and it was fantastic. Attentive and friendly staff, and everything we ordered was amazing - from the drinks to the entrees (prime rib, lasagna, and a pizza) to the desserts (profiteroles and oh, that creme brulee!). We will be back, regularly, and we recommend it!“
“A hidden gem on the westside of Madison. The falafel is amazing. Highly recommend it. Prices are very reasonable and you get what you pay for if not more. Staff is very friendly and efficient.Looking for great Italian or Turkish food this is your place.“
“Villa Dolce is a consistently wonderful experience. No matter what day of week, or week of year, the service is impeccable, the bartenders are talented, the food is amazing, and the overall experience is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!!“
“Best food cart on the square. Even their tomatoes taste good in the dead of winter. Small selection but what they do they do so well. Generally very quick. Focaccia ISD bouncy and chewy and moist. Absolute perfection. I hope these two get a sit down soon!Vegetarian options: Can get most things meatless.“
“Great value for good food- crazy big portion size so definitely bang for your buck. I had the dijon salmon which was good (not great, but good!). The house salad was tasty and filling as was the bread. The service was very prompt too. Will be coming back for laid-back, super-filling food. update: I’ve been back many times! Some dishes have been hit or miss for me but I get the seared salmon salad, minestrone, or piccata and I’m happy every time. Or really any salad or soup. My kids like the spaghetti kids meal.“
“I like this downtown restaurant. On State St, about a block from the Capitol Square. I loved the dark atmosphere. Cool jazz music playing. Besides not being very loud in there, the booths help make it easy to have a conversation. The rough brick wall also helps to break up any noise. Our server was very friendly and the timing of her check-ins was good.First off, I liked the bread. Besides being complementary, each piece was crunchy on one side and warm & buttery on the other. The roasted mushroom crostini was a great way to start the meals. It was crunchy chewy, with the expected sweetness from the cheese and glaze. My salmon crunchy outside and soft moist inside. The garlic lemon sauce was a great added flavor. The shrimp scampi also tasted great, although a bit too heavy on the garlic. The Bliss Burger was a tasty burger dripping with juicy goodness. The accompanying fries tasted just McDonald's fries, but a little less salty. The meat in the Ziti with Ragu was a nice combo of hearty meat with soft tender tasty ziti. The waitress passed by with plates of desserts that looked real good, but we were just too full. ....Next time.Overall, I really liked this upscale city tavern.“
“This place is crazy. If you didn't know it was there you would never find it. They are only open 4-8, so you must plan ahead. They have the best thin crust bar style pie. You enter this building and go downstairs, even though there is no signage. It is like going into a speak-easy. Would highly recommend, bring your friends, they will be impressed.“
“Delicious food and a great automosphere that feels as authentic as Italian food in Wisconsin can get. Prices are also great!Wheelchair accessibility: As far as I remember, no steps to get into the building (there is a ramp) and there is enough room between tables to maneuver a wheelchair, however the hallway to enter might be cramped for a wheelchair“
“Each year my large family comes for Christmas and we order Gino's Italian Deli piping hot lasagnas, garlic bread and salad. What a treat loved by all and especially the cook with little to clean up :) Thanks for making it easy every year Gino's for our holiday gathering needs.“
“My wife and I have dined at Amara multiple times, but this time will make us rethink our next visit. The server brought menus and stopped back soon after to take our food offer without asking if we would like to order drinks. We had to prompt the server to take a drink order. For my entree, I ordered their Ravioli special and although the presentation was unique, it was not at the expected level of quality. The dish seemed to have spent some time under a broiler and sections were dried out, but it was just bland with very little flavor.“
“Our waitress was on point! I never had to ask for anything because she came back to the table every 7 mins to ask if we were okay and had some of the itmes with her so there was no I will bring it right back just give me 5 minutes type deal. Would eat here “
“A culinary haven where every bite is a work of art and every glance at the plate feels like a discovery. The presentation is a testament to their craft, and the ambiance is a warm, inviting embrace. Suggesting this place to friends feels less like a recommendation and more like a well-guarded secret being shared.“
“Came here on a spare of the moment celebration of my son winning the championship youth football game and we came in to celebrate with the kids parents coaches and I'm sure it may have been overwhelming but they were doing everything to accommodate us so thank you so much and the food was amazing and I'll be back “
“I don’t usually write reviews but my experience at Luigi’s was amazing! We absolutely loved the racket and the Maximus! I’d also definitely recommend the garlic cheese bread. Service and atmosphere were also great! 10/10Vegetarian options: Tons of vegan, gluten free, and vegetarian options!“
“Food was wonderful. I had the lemon basil salmon, and Brussels. The bread was devine. The staff was stretched a little thin, but our waitress was very good, despite having little to no help. We had a reservation, but didn't get sat for another 20 minutes. Really not a big deal since we were staying at the hotel. Will definitely be eating there again this weekend.Dietary restrictions: Had some GF optionsKid-friendliness: Options for the kids, under $10We ordered Fettuccine Alfredo, spaghetti and a giant meatball.“
“We finally ordered Zoe's for pick up last night. I had 1/2 vegan pepperoni 1/2 vegan pesto. Husband got regular cheese and garlic knots. I have been crazing pepperoni (vegetarian, which from most places is not at all like I remember pepperoni). Zoe's was EXCELLENT. The vegan pesto pizza was really good to. Whatever vegan cheese they are using is better than many places. The middle of my pizza was a little wet/floppy. Not perfection, but hey I will take based on how good the rest was. Could be a vegan cheese related issue?? My husband liked his pizza but didn't love it. He said it was chewy - he ordered hand tossed crust and said he would try a different one next time.Vegetarian options: There is a vegan menu - someone posted a photo on the Madison Area Vegans Facebook page. The online ordering system has vegan options, but there are more on the menu.“
