“My husband and I came for our wedding anniversary, and we had the best time celebrating. The amount of care, time, and attention we received was amazing. I’m 12 weeks pregnant, and made a joke about how it would be nice to put my feet up (we had been there for over 2 hours at that point). Our server grabbed a chair for me to put my feet up, and encouraged me to be comfortable. We received a ton of guidance and education regarding the menu items and their preparation. We were greeted warmly at the door, and had personalized menus at our seats. The staff there are incredible, and we had no issue tipping on top of the service charge. The experience was worth every penny we spent. Don’t plan anything after dinner, take your time, and enjoy the experience.”

“I have dined in here multiple times, each time was an extraordinarily unique experienced compared to other sushi bars and restaurants. The service is great here and cater to any needs you may have. Besides typical Japanese dishes you will find more exotic ones but excellence in flavor is still there. Everything is served on beautiful works of art you'll never see used as a dish anywhere else that binds with the food it's presented with to create a pleasing first impression when your waiting brings it to you. Over the many times I've dined here I have ordered the sunshine roll, nigiri mix, miso soup, seared sturgeon, ngo burger, and wagyu tsukune, all I very much recommend, but if you want something unique settle for the wagyu tsukune.”

“Randomly came here for a Saturday dinner because we wanted to try something new. They did not disappoint. The server told us everything is made from scratch and wow, you can definitely taste it in the food. The house made bread was so soft. And they even gave us complimentary minestrone soup which was delicious! I ordered the Tuscan Chicken and Shrimp and my boyfriend got the Spaghetti Carbonara. My dish was so creamy and tasty, the pasta was al dente, and the meat was seasoned well. The Carbonara was also great. Our server was awesome, really friendly and took time to let us know everything about the menu since she knew it was our first time. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu, what a hidden gem!”

“Fresh sushi with good quality ingredients. I got take out from here, so I can't say much about the service but the packaging of the food was beautiful. The presentation definitely shows the care they put into their food! We got two rolls and the chirashi. The fish tasted very fresh and good quality which is hard to find in Sac. So I ate here four meals in three days on a business trip. I took a road trip during the week and had shrimp cocktail an hour up the road… This one is way better. Moonbelly Bakery 6511 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento Bakery • $

“There are many things that make Moonbelly special, but here are 2 that stand out the most to me.First, every pastry that isn't a cookie or a loaf is made with a beautifully laminated croissant dough. This is not necessary and could totally be done with cheaper pastry for everything other than the croissants, but it is incredibly delicious and luxurious.Second, nearly every day they have a pastry that is savory but does not have meat or eggs. To have a consistent pastry option with veggies in it is genuinely what gets me out of the house to go to Moonbelly.Vegetarian options: They have savory pastries that are vegetarian (not vegan) on the daily, and it is awesome. Veggies and cheese nestled into flaky croissant dough is my favorite way to start the day.”

“Where do I begin. As soon as you walk in, you get a warm smile like a hug from Carmelita! The place looks really high end and the ambiance is extremely welcoming and calming. They know what they are doing and I wish them the best of success. We are forever customers now. When we sat down, Carmelita, explained everything about the menu, what is great, what she loves, what is popular, and what she thinks we like. We ended up having a Cesar salad, and 2 pizzas ( names under pictures). From the first bite, my eyes closed, and it was bliss. The dough was light and airy, the crust was full of flavor, and each bite takes you to another world. They know what they are doing and we met the chef to thank him for what he did. They have other styles of pizza so we are definitely coming back for the Detroit style deliciousness. Thank you for the delicious food, hospitality, and overall experience.”

“The ambiance of candlelight, bright artwork, and metal music playing at a conversational level was enough to make me stay. But throw in a very vegan-friendly menu and delicious coffee and I'm swooning. This very solid first impression of Immortal Café included an oatmilk latte with Demerara brown sugar "fancy syrup" and it was quite good. I'd recommend you try it if you're down for a hint of sweetness. It was evening when we stopped by, so the food options were small bites and shareable. I tried both the potato chips (yum) and the Bertie, which was a truffle-infused fermented cashew cheese (double yum) accompanied by a seasonal preserve and crostini. The seasonal preserve was a candied orange marmalade, which elevated the whole pairing. So much deliciousness. The place is small and in a funky converted motel on the edge of Alkali Flats. I wouldn't bring a large group since the interior is more like a bar with some small seating arrangements. It is dog-friendly though with a couple of exterior tables. I'll be back to try out the Saturday vegan brunch for sure.”

“Just had one of the best dining experiences EVER at Zócalo. Not only was the food excellent, but the service was incredible. My server America was prompt and hospitable in helping me decide on their expansively delicious brunch menu (glad I took her recommendation on the Arrachera con Huevos). She and the bar staff were also very accommodating, even as I ordered technically “off-menu” drinks. As I finished up, I was so pleasantly surprised to see a manager on duty (Nicholas) cheerfully helping his staff clean tables on the patio and sweep up the area as the brunch lull died down. He even grabbed me a to-go bag for the box he saw on my table without me even asking. It was so refreshing to not only have my needs anticipated but to see a staff that seems to work together so well to provide a truly excellent dining experience. Worth even more Michelin stars than they already have!”

“I'm going to start by saying first off I'm not vegetarian, nor vegan, nor pescatarian. I have to state that because every time I've told someone about this place the first thing they ask me is if I'm any of those above categories. It shouldn't matter If I am or not because flat out the food here is amazing. Yes this restaurant provides a great alternative for those who are vegetarian or vegan for sure. But even for those that are not this place has truly has delicious foods that tantalizes the taste buds. This place has also showed me that it is possible to eat healthier and still have tasty food. I've even been inspired to cook at home or so after trying dishes at this place. Whether your vegan or vegetarian or not I highly recommend you give this place a try You may be surprised at how delicious the food truly is. One of my favorite dishes is there crispy brussel sprouts sometimes I ask them for a little bit extra crispy and the pairing with the pickled onions pomegranates and the feta cheese along with the balsamic reduction is truly a delightful flavor that has left a profound impression on my taste buds.Vegetarian options: My favorite items are the crispy brussel sprouts and the gnocchi. But there are several delicious items on this menu and you can't go wrong. The only one I haven't tried is the one involving red beets that's just a personal preference.”

We also added the house wine to our meal which was a very good cab. No tap beers...the tappers were all fake and just for the look. Lol. Overall....we will be returning!”

Seriously, I don't know how they do it...but they do! I guess the only not spectacular thing about em is their location. It's easy to miss and I feel like I should maybe have a weapon on me when I come to pick up my food! Lol... Oh, and it's worth mentioning that this isn't really a sit down and dine kind of spot either. They only have 2 small tables in the lobby, and those are more for waiting than eating on. But, if you're looking for some fire a** Chinese food, this is your best bet!-Top Shelf Quality-Great People-Most Affordable Hands Down-ULTRA HIGHLY Recommend”

While it may be a bit pricey, you can upgrade your smoked meat selection to a combo meal for an additional charge, which includes a side salad, a side of your choice, and cornbread. The cornbread is a must-try; it's the best I've ever had, especially when paired with their sweet butter.Although I'm not a big fan of beer, their beers are delightful. “We stopped in for dinner as I finished a workout at the next door Planet Fitness and was drawn by the beautiful patio. Too chilly to sit outside, we diner indoors and enjoyed the incredibly eclectic decor as we reviewed the menu. We both chose a platter, me chicken, my friend lamb. They started with an incredible lentil soup. I dove in before I thought to get a good photo. It was really flavorful and creamy. The waitress said the appetizer was whatever the chef decided and we each got an interesting variety, all of it was very good. Entrees were plentiful and did not disappoint. We left satisfied, stuffed, and with enough food for 2 more meals. Highly recommend Sumer Nights. My one observation, the elevator music kills the vibe. It definitely isn't it. “We came here on a whim since we were driving into the area. I'm so glad that we chose this mom&pop location opposed to the other korean restaurants nearby. The parking situation is a bit awkward, it isn't located in the best area but it's fine as long as you find a spot right in front of the building. Upon arriving, there were only two other parties which indicated that they weren't really busy. We sat down with big appetites, so we were ready to try out different dishes. It seemed like there was just a wife and husband behind the counter and kitchen. It was a very friendly atmosphere and it was almost like being at home.Everything that we ordered was absolutely delicious and filled us up. Next time, I would order the gochujang sauce on the side since it made the wings a bit soggy after a few minutes. There were so many sides that it filled up the entire table. I love how there was unique banchan that I never had before which made the meal taste even better. I would definitely recommend this place!”

“Lovely restaurant. It is very modern and pretty inside. Menu is small, about 5 appetizers and 5 main courses to choose from. Changes seasonally. I had the citrus salad and halibut. The salad was so good! I know, a salad right? Trust me, it was delicious. Halibut was cooked perfectly. My date had the rib eye and artichoke soup. He said it was probably the best rib eye he's ever had. It had a mushroom tartlet that was good as well, but we both thought it would be perfect if maybe there was a small portion of fondant potatoes as well. Soup was alright, but he preferred the citrus salad over the soup, as the soup was more one dimensional. Service was good. Wine list was good. Old fashioned was also nice.”

The Nook Bistro & Wine Bar 3610 McKinley Blvd, Sacramento Wine Bar • $$

“This little wine bar occupies the location that was formerly Celestin's- we like the proximity to our neighborhood, and it's just a few doors down from the East Village Bookstore. Recommend spending an afternoon exploring the bookstore followed by some drinks at The Nook. There is also an outdoor picnic table area for folks who want to bring their dog, but it is on the parking lot so beware of pavement temps. I can't speak to the food menu, as we have only stopped in for drinks before. Overall, there is a decent selection of wines (red/white/sparkling), as well as beers, ciders, and even mocktails. During our most recent visit, my husband was interested in the vermouth. The bartender created a cocktail that was the grapefruit vermouth + sparkling wine- it was such a refreshing spritz, and we really appreciated the personal recommendation. Service here has been great each time we have visited. Pricing is a bit more expensive compared to wine bars in midtown- expected given its East Sac location. The vibes and aesthetic of the indoor space is a little confused- featuring decor such as damask ceiling hangings, resin wall art, eclectic 3D wall art, and overhead lights that are a little too bright for a wine bar.”

“I eat at Huckleberry’s at least twice a month, today however my experience was not good to the point that I did not leave a tip and feel terrible about that. I went in around noon on Sunday, I knew it would be busy. I signed in for one and was told it would be a 10 minute wait. I sat there roughly 10 minutes. Two ladies came in signed in. Apparently they knew one of the waitress and were seated a few minutes later even though I was there before them. A waiter then approached the hostess and pointed at the clipboard, the hostess told him she was not going to seat one person in a booth. So I approached the hostess that initially signed me in and inquired why the two ladies were given a booth even though I was there before them, she didn’t know and looked for the waitress who sat them. The waitress proceeded to move them to a bigger booth to seat me. I was very disappointed. I realize it was not right to leave a tip but customers should not be given preferential treatment.”

“I am far from well versed when it comes to Indian food, But coming from someone who still has a lot to try this place was absolutely wonderful. The staff was nice and the flavor and spice of the lamb I got instantly made my day 10x better. The interior is nothing special but that's not why you'd come here. The draw is the excellent food and I cant wait to try more and more of the menu on return visits”

Federalist PIZZA 2009 Matsui Alley, Sacramento Pizza • $$

“This pizza place resides in the converted innards of metal storage containers. The pizza comes from a wood oven set up inside. Beyond the traditional offerings of cheese and pepperoni, you'll also find options that utilize toppings like arugula, pesto, mushrooms, and bacon. They have appetizers, like hummus or their wood-fired rosemary bread loaf with herb butter. A rotating selection of craft brews is on offer to compliment your meal. The open-air environment is pleasantly informal. You seat yourself at long tables and may find yourself sharing one with one or two other groups.People bring their dogs and their kids, though you'll probably see more of the former than the latter. The Federalist might not offer the best slice in town, but their unique takes are pretty tasty. They are solidly good.”

Zócalo University Village 466 Howe Ave, Sacramento Mexican • $$

“Very disappointing experience. We've been to this Zocalo site as well as Roseville and midtown several times and always enjoyed the food and service. The server we began with was personable and efficient. For some reason (unexplained) a trainer and her trainee showed to take our orders. The trainer took the orders but repeated back my wife's incorrectly. My wife corrected her and the trainer assured her she had the order correctly entered in her pad. When the meals came, the order was wrong. The backserver was able to quickly make the change. All dishes were tepid or slightly warmer. This was not the Zocalo to which we had become accustomed. The patio was empty when we began but even as it filled, still a nice environment. But management needs to ensure better cleanliness as there were paper napkin ties and napkins on the ground as well as food crumbs/remains. A routine sweep, a double entendre here, would really help. Next time will be better, yes?”

Taco Bell 5625 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento Fast Food • $

“This is still a good location but it seemed it was suffering from staff turnover. It seems okay now. The drive thru can be overwhelming when it bleeds out onto the street but they usually get it resolved rather quickly. Because of this the "atmosphere" took a hit. But overall, this is your typical Taco Bell. Other than its small parking lot, you can expect your usual experience.Parking: Limited parking lot.”

“First time ordering from here and was for delivery. I ordered fried Szechuan tofu and egg drop soup. Both were incredibly good. A note to some - when eating out I expect it will have more sodium than I use at home and for a Chinese restaurant that’s Dine-in service I didn’t have expectations of fancy take-out packaging just like all others don’t have of a similar type. I’m prepared to plate it when arrives - careful while handling it as needed. That said, the soup container was very solid. However, I’ve ordered a similar meal in other places and this is the best and even slightly customizable, unlike some others. So, of course, I added my favorite - broccoli- to it (other options there but I only cared for the vegetarian stuff for that order). I hope I can make it down there in person sometime.”

“The food was nicely prepared and nicely presented. The service could not have been better. The decor was modern, comfortable and pleasing. “One Star- The food was not what I expected. The flavors of Italy was not there. The seafood pasta- clams and Musscles, we undercooked, shrimp and scallops were low quality and bland. 0 flavor. Sauce was very lacking in flavor. Couldn't tell if there was garlic in it or not. The bread had a distinct hint of burnt flavor on the back of my tounge. Not sure if you need to request bread or parmesan or what but I saw lots of people getting extra service. I definitely won't be back and maybe thats the point of giving some folks bad food or service is so their kind won't come back? Who knows but mission accomplished. I nor anyone I know will be back.”

Dream Tea 3633 Bradshaw Rd E, Sacramento Bubble Tea • $

“I was on my way home from a sporting event with my dog and it was quite the warm afternoon for mid-March. I figured, what better way to quench my thirst than a drink from a boba shop? I looked up boba spots from the Rosemont to Rancho Cordova area, and honestly there aren't many in that side of Sacramento. However, I came across Dream Tea and decided to try it out. Dream Tea is located in a quiet strip mall by a Dollar Tree off Bradshaw and Old Placerville Rd. When I walked in, it was quiet and modern, with fun neon lights decorating the interior. The menu items are displayed on TV screens, and I decided to get their butterfly pea flower passionfruit tea. I always opt for light ice and either 25% or 50% sweet when I order boba, and for this drink I asked for 50% sweet and light ice, which they were able to accommodate. It didn't take long for my drink to be made, and I'm glad I was able to order first, as a group of people came in right after me. This drink comes in one size, and is honestly a really good size considering how thirsty I was (water just wasn't cutting it for me that day). As another review mentioned, it is a large cup and only one size, so if you're getting another drink that isn't just fruit tea, such as milk tea, it will be quite a large drink, but personally it was the perfect size for me. The passionfruit tea was the optimal amount of fruity and sweet, especially after I mixed in the butterfly pea flower portion of the drink. I personally would have liked more passionfruit seeds as I enjoy the texture, but that's just me being picky. I didn't get boba in my drink this time as didn't feel like it, but I would like to try their other teas next time and add boba. Overall, I'm happy that there is a boba shop in the Rosemont area, and will be back.”

“I ordered to go on a Friday, so review is solely on the food. I was looking for fish and chips and was surprised to see Fuji's pop up, so I ordered online. I tried calling, but no one answered. It took about 20 minutes after I put in the order before I got a text stating my order was ready. This place is located next to the target on Riverside. Parking is in the neighborhood next to it or across the street as others have stated. The food was good. I thought it was pricey at $21, but you do get a great amount of food. Enough for 2 meals. I got 3 large pieces of fish that was battered in what was similar to what butterfly shrimp are battered in. It isn't your typical wet batter if that is what you are looking for. The fries or "chips" are well seasoned as well. Since I ordered to go, it did get soggy in the to go container and wasn't as crispy as I would like. But still tasted great. I would order again and do want to try eating in restaurant. Well update if I get the chance.”

“Come into this place and enjoy the spot. New seafood spot travelling from the east coast to the west coast. First Hook and Reel of the west coast. As with all the Sea life out there, Hook and Reel cannot get by without a mention of their water.
