“Very impressive. It’s great to see someone so young achieving his goals. Compared to other top restaurants in NYC, Gem is right up there.“

“System is what makes this place works. Everyone knows what to do and very reactive to diners’ need. The celtuse drink, soba noodles are excellent. Even the vegan latte with oatmilk made an impression. I’m only giving 4 on the food because it’s a vegan, my palette has a wider range and veggies can only go to some extent. It was a great experience.“

“The dimsum is nice and the steaks are great. They said the pig out is great, sadly I cant eat pork so I couldn’t try it. I love the pasta because it has a very unique asian taste. But the broccoli is too salty that it kinda ruin the impression of my experience here. I tried a lot of michellin restaurant here and sadly it one of my least favourite.“

“High in the clouds atop the historic pine st building, Saga restaurant has one of the best views in the city. When we arrived up the elevator, we were greeted by the bar and served an aperitif treat from a selection of fruity or herbal flavors. We were then taken to our table. The menu is pretty straightforward with a couple of choices - we had a choice of entree (we chose the duck tagine which saga is famous for) and we could also add on a truffle risotto course. Our first bite was a foam topped abalone beautifully served in the shell. This was the followed by a bento box of fresh seafood and vegetable bites. The idea was a 'choose your own adventure' and combine the seafood on crackers, or lettuce leaves with sauces to your liking. We also had a foie gras dish, and a scallop pudding dish with caviar, bone marrow, and lobster in Singaporean chilli style, before the main event of the duck. Served family style, we had two large dishes of duck with vegetables and pancake style breads and sauces to make into wraps. I loved the interactivity but was slightly concerned I wouldn't have the best combination of flavors in every bite. The food was messy and needed a good wipe of my hands after! For dessert we enjoyed the ice cream and crumble. We also got the discovery wine pairing and every single pairing was spot on (which is rare for a long tasting menu).Great spot!“

“The minute we walked in, we all felt like we were in a much better mood, not sure why, they were just so inviting even though we were a little late for our reservation. (We did call in advance to let them know we would be).Our server was simply the loveliest person, so inviting and helpful. We had someone in our party with several allergies and we went over the menu and discussed what would be acceptable to order and she even made an off menu suggestion to accommodate us.Food was just phenomenal, we had the garlic bread, the asparagus, the meatballs, the pasta ragu, a cacio e pepe pasta was made for us since our party could not have the other pasta dish with pesto, and we had the fish. Everything was delicious!Towards the end of the meal, the person with the allergy issues started feeling itchy and had to leave. We went over and over the food items, our server was clearly mortified and was likely more upset than anyone in our party. She went back over the menu with the chef and confirmed that everything we ordered was free of our known allergens. While we do not know what caused the reaction, the restaurant's handling of this situation was 1000% on point. No one in our group had any ill will towards the establishment. (You'll want to know this person went home and to sleep and is perfectly fine, still no idea what caused the reaction, though)I would absolutely return to this restaurant!“
“Excellent end to end! Organized a company dinner last minute and ended up having the restaurant for ourselves with a custom 3-couse menu + wine.Food was above perfection and so was the service and private ambiance!Vegetarian options: Accommodate perfectly for vegetarian if mentionnes ahead!“

“Food was average. Service and ambience were great. Value was poor. For 180 dollars per per-son, we expected better food. When the dessert was the best part of the meal, thErE is a problem. Chicken was too salty and fish was dry. Service was very good though.“

“Passing by we noticed the lovely holiday decorations (which were even nicer inside). Made a reservation for dinner and arrived early for a drink at the bar. The whole experience was great - friendly service, great cocktails (amazing selection of Bourbon), good food and all in a cozy atmosphere. “Food was good but not great. I’ve had better Italian in NYC. The service was a little odd… one waiter kept dropping cutlery and he toppled my wine glass - thank god it was empty. He didn’t even apologise; actually I don’t think he even realised his arm had brushed my glass or that the glass had toppled ??♀️ We had made reservations for a large group but when we got there, tables were not set and they had to scramble to push several together. Space was so tight we had literally no place to put our bags!“

“We had a perfect anniversary dinner at the Capital Grille! We had the filet (Oscar style) and the lamb chops for entrees and a side of mashed potatoes. My husband said the lamb was possibly the best he had ever had! The manager came to talk to our table and was very kind and generous. We ordered the chocolate cake and they gave us an “anniversary plate” with the chocolate flour less cake and the crème brûlée. They were all delicious. We will be back!“
“In NYC, it's easy to say you've seen it all but it's also seriously safe to say, that no matter where you're from, you haven't seen anything like Venhue. This restaurant shows how fun fine dining can be when it doesn't take itself too seriously. The 'venhue' is intimate and timed while not feeling rushed. It's a party in a box and the box happens to be a multimedia room that doubles as a sexy dining room. The meal itself is a total treat with lots of surprises along the way and the drinks pairing is a fun-must. This is a place to impress out of town guests, wow a first date or celebrate a milestone in a unique way, which is so rare to find. Highly recommend!“

“This restaurant was once awarded three Michelin stars for ten consecutive years and is also a representative of New York's fusion cuisine style. They primarily blend Japanese and French culinary elements to create an out-of-the-box and unforgettable dining experience. In 2023, due to disputes between the owner and the former chef, resulting in the departure of the ex-chef, they were removed from the Michelin three-star list, sparking considerable attention and comments from diners. From my recent dining experience at the restaurant, their removal from the Michelin three-star list does not imply that they no longer meet the standards of a Michelin three-star restaurant. Rather, it's because they are now operating as a "new restaurant" after reorganizing their chef team, which should be in a "grade pending" status. Personally, I feel that in the 2024 Michelin ratings, they have a very high chance of regaining Michelin star status, even if not immediately returning to three stars.Overall, this restaurant is highly suitable for diners interested in tasting fusion cuisine that blends elements from around the world, as well as for chefs in the food industry seeking new ideas. Additionally, the restaurant's service is excellent, even among fine dining establishments, as the staff seamlessly combine professionalism and friendliness. The dining environment in the restaurant is also excellent. Whether enjoying food preparation at the bar or having a more intimate dining experience at a table, both options provide a great experience. Here are some highlights of the restaurant's strengths:1. The seafood dishes at the restaurant are outstanding, with subtle seasoning that highlights the natural flavors of the seafood. Some small garnishes add a finishing touch to the dishes, akin to the layers of fragrance in perfume, leaving a memorable impression.2. The restaurant operates very efficiently, with each dish transitioning smoothly, akin to a symphony, where one movement ends and the next begins at the appropriate time.3. The service at the restaurant is excellent, with the staff knowledgeable about the dishes and beverages, smoothly and warmly introducing each dish, leaving a special impression on the diners.4. The desserts at the restaurant are delicious, whether it's pastries, ice cream, or fruit, all displaying creativity.5. The non-alcoholic drinks are excellent, providing a great option for those who do not enjoy alcohol.Furthermore, the restaurant may have some areas for improvement:1. The meat dishes at the restaurant seem to be less impressive than the seafood dishes, especially the wagyu beef dish, which is not cooked to perfection, failing to highlight the characteristics of wagyu beef.2. The sea urchin and waffle dish show great creativity in combining Asian and European ingredients. However, the waffle seems too soft and cannot effectively hold the uni; I almost dropped the uni while eating. Moreover, both the waffle and uni have a heavy sweet taste and soft texture, lacking impact. Perhaps replacing them with different bread and uni combinations would be better.3. While each seafood dish has excellent flavor, the seasoning and presentation seem somewhat repetitive, giving a sense of redundancy. Perhaps experimenting with more diverse elements and variations would be beneficial.4. The restaurant does not offer bread, a common feature in many European restaurants. Although bread may not be particularly expensive, I believe it is an essential part of French and many European restaurant cuisines. With bread, diners can dip it into the soup, creating a special dining experience and balancing the flavors of some heavier dishes. In conclusion, it was a very enjoyable dining experience. I hope the restaurant regains its Michelin star status in 2024 and continues to explore the path of fusion cuisine, breaking through the limitations of traditional rating systems and textbooks, and continuing to be a representative of New York cuisine and a unique restaurant in the world.“
