“Hello there, not sure if this is the best way to send compliments. However, we visited your premises on the 5th October. It was one of our final meals of our 2 week Canada and USA holiday. It was one of the best meals we had on our holiday….and of our life. Our server, Rackel, was the best servers we have ever had. She was so polite, genuine and kind. She truly made our experience at your Calgary venue extraordinary. As a nurse I pride myself on empathic communication- Rakel seemed to do this effortlessly. She is a credit to you, and she is the reason why we would consider visiting Calgary again from the UK. I will recommend all my family and friends to visit your Calgary establishment! Thank you for making our holiday extra special! Jamie and Josh (Cardiff, UK).“
“Fantastic place for a night out, especially if you’re gluten free or celiac. Almost everything on the menu is gluten free. Our waiter, Israel, was wonderfully attentive and quick to explain the menu. This is a must visit on 17th Ave. Great staff members like Israel really add to the experience.“
“I have stayed at Hotel Clique several times and dined at tonic kitchen and bar on every visit.I have to say that Nancy does an amazing job behind the bar. She is an absolute delight, treats her customers with respect, and is the life of the party. Not many people like that still in this industry. She’s a great brand ambassador!Don’t lose her!“
“Hands down the best chicken wingsin Calgary!!! Taco salad!!! Next level amazing!!As a catering and restaurant owner in the past, I have never experienced food elevated to this level. I cannot speak highly enough of Kass, Nicole and Sean. It feels like family!“
“Impressed!!! I have not been to Broken Plate in years. Menu has changed but it's delicious! We went over Happy Hour and it's worth it! Cocktails were amazing.Parking: It's in a strip mall. Plenty.Kid-friendliness: We brought our 3 kids. Aged: 13, 10, 5. All accommodated.“
“Brought my pals from Victoria to see Zoo! on the 9th of Feb.As always, friendly service, food was great.(That band was really good, dialed right in.)If you're in yyc, staying downtown, and want a real Calgary food/live music experience, go to Inglewood. It's close (within a 2km taxi-ride from Stephen Ave / 30 min. walk), easy to get back to your hotel after. Call for resos though, we were lucky.“
“Callie was electric!! Gave us fantastic service on the patio. Great vibes, music and drinks. Callie suggested the Happy Dad Fruit Punch to my group and it was a hit! Will be back.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options! Beyond Meat Burgers and Tofu, alongside many different options.Parking: 3 hours free parkingKid-friendliness: Lots of games and bowling!!!“
“Went to check out the Pure Street Food Vietnamese noodle place after seeing it featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. We had a beef pho, crispy chicken pho and the donut that Guy Fieri talked about and it was all delicious! It was not too busy for a Saturday later afternoon and we'll definitely go back again.“
“This is my first time dining at Leupolz, and I am very impressed! I had the short rib beef dip Sandwich and it was outstanding! I can hardly wait to come back and try the poutine. My friend had a burger, and it was great because she’s on keto that they have the ability to do it as a lettuce wrap as well.Dietary restrictions: Was able to accommodate a keto requirement by wrapping the burger and lettuce.“
“Flavorful and tasty food selection, complimentary mango smoothie was supprisingly good. The freshly made nann breads blew our mind. It's definitely the highlight of our lunch buffet. Our server Rishman was very attentive and friendly. Excellent dining experience. For sure we will come back again!“
“I liked the restaurant. Location was good, food was great and It was a good size portion of food. The Entrance way was a bit confusing. It has ‘Emergency exit’ labeled on the door. Please note this is the entrance door. Our server was wonderful her name was Annabelle.“
“Super friendly.Food was excellent.I will definitely visit again .Family run establishment in a great neighborhood right off 16 av heading towards Banff.Definitely come and give it a try. They are so friendly here you'll feel like family.“
“We walked in for lunch today only to see there were no lower tables that would accommodate a wheel chair. We turned to leave and when we were outside, a fella came out to ask if we were looking for a lower table we said yes. He said come back in, we will find something for you. A lovely lady a d her daughter moves to a tall table so that we were able to have lunch. Thank you so much! The service was was great, the food was delish ! Oh and the coffee drink was also amazing. Thank you again !“
“The food and drinks were awesome, very atmospheric tavern, the staff was very nice and helpful. We had burrito bowl, garlic bread bombs, and also spicy chicken burger with fries. The burger was so good, but the fries in my opinion had a bit too much salt. But everything else was pretty good! We had very good time at this tavern. Well done!“
“Amazing establishment, Morgan is a phenomenal bartender. From cocktail Classics To originals, she will certainly take care of your every need. Curating our night with the perfect cocktails was breathtaking. I request to end the night on a bourbon cocktail that felt like dessert and was greeted with a personalized cocktail, curated by Morgan herself, called an infinity scarf wrap with a warmth of cinnamon and bourbon with a slight sweetness that ended the night on the perfect note-Carleen“
“My family and I love this place. We frequent it monthly. However, in our visit tonight when first approached by a waitress, we asked if the donuts were back in stock as our son loves them. Her response was “No, we’re still out. Blame the truckers for that”. To which I replied “I’m not here to blame anyone”. If you’re out of stock on something, you’re out. Why play the blame game? I’d like to know if this is the belief of the establishment that the truck drivers are to blame for shortages of goods and services. If it is, we’ll boycott the place.“
“Great food, convenient location. Our server Kayleigh S. was awesome. She was attentive, checked on us at just the right time and made us feel welcome. She did it all with a smile. We will definately be back and home to have her as our server again.“
“We were there on a Saturday night with our son and daughter-in-law and had reservations. We had to wait 25 minutes past our reservation time. The roads were really bad so a lot of customers arrived late and so customers were backed up. However as soon as we were seated the waitress apologized and brought us warm bread. She took our appetizer and drink orders. Then immediately the manager came by and apologized once again and said he would give us our cocktails or appetizers in the house. Service and food were excellent and the manager returned at the end of our meal to make sure everything was ok. Food was excellent! I had the salmon and everyone else had Keg specials. I would definitely return. Thanks for the great evening!!“
“We went to celebrate my friend's intimate wedding. The food and service was really good. I'm not sure if I like the ambience because it's dark inside but I guess that's the theme they are going for. I really enjoyed the Calamari and Miner's pie.“
“So - King Eddy’s is pretty amazing! The location was within walking distance from our hotel, and we’re so glad we decided to give it a try.We were lucky enough to visit on a night when they featured some pretty epic comedians! The service is exceptional- we lacked for nothing. Stephanie was our server, she was friendly, efficient and attentive. I enjoyed the poutine and house salad. Mr. Wonderful had a burger, fries and a cabbage and apple coleslaw. Everything was served promptly and was delicious. If you’re anywhere near this establishment - make sure to pay it a visit - it’s well worth it.“
“Lam Pham’s Pure Street Food is a contemporary take on casual Vietnamese dishes. Although the dark and plain interior isn’t the most welcoming environment, Pure Vietnamese food will blow your mind. Located at First Street Market, the highlight of the menu is the beef pho with sliced beef, brisket, beef ball, tendon and spicy sate broth. It is the best pho I’ve ever tried thanks to its savory broth. If you can’t eat pho every day, there is always the No. 4 Hu Tieu Mi Kho noodle bowl with char siu pork ground pork, and a crispy pork spring rolls. It’s a drug!“
“Went for Afternoon Tea with a friend. We were greeted with very friendly service. Sat at a lovely table by the window. Waitress explained the tea. We ordered wine it came quickly and the wine service was wonderful. We had told our server we’d would like the tea tray with our wine to enjoy the savoury items. Then the tea later for the more traditional items. We finished our wine and still no tea tray. We had to ask when it might be coming out. It was over 30 minutes. We were told shortly. Meanwhile the tables on either side. One family of 8 and a deuce had both, been seated after us but were being served. A bit disappointing. When the tea arrived it was beautifully presented both physically and by our server who explained all that was presented. From the fresh scones with the clotted cream to the lamb tarts. All fantasticWhen we left my tea companion mentioned how lovely the tarts were. The manager asked us to wait and ran to present her with 4 to enjoy at homeOverall. Lovely tea. Just needed to be more observant of the timing. I would go back for a special occasion.Would have 5 stars if the timing was better“
“it’s 2024, I’m done gatekeeping the best bars in Calgary.. Coasters is SOOOO good! It’s my favourite place and I’m okay if it becomes your favourite place too, because they deserve the hype! Let’s cover all the reasons why. #1 the staff!!!! A tight knit group of my favourite girls as servers (I love them all but special shout out Fawn, love you girl!!). And a kitchen staff who knows exactly what TF they’re doing *chefs kiss* #2 the menu. Omg the food! Always amazing!! IVE TRIED EVERYTHING!!! soooo good, and the prices are even better ;)) my personal favourite are the crunchy chicken burger, coasters burger and steak sandwich. Of course you can miss Wednesdays wing night!!! #3 the prices!!! I play a little game when I go to a new restaurant.. it’s called “let’s compare the prices to Coasters..” TRUST ME ITS A FUN GAME!!! You won’t find better prices. #4 it’s close to home and local!!! And I can come get drunk and walk home. For those of you who don’t live in McKenzie, the food and service is worth the travel!!#5 KARAOKE!!! Fridays and Saturdays babyyy! Starts at 8 pm!!!Honestly… I could go on forever… but come see for yourself!! :)“
“My favourite restaurant in Calgary. I've been going once a month since it first opened in 2008-ish and have no intention of slowing down. The food and service have consistently been fantastic since the day they opened. Great staff and management. I should have posted a review for them years ago, but better late than never I suppose. Their burgers and sandwiches are incredible, and come with two sides (and an impressive assortment too). With food prices being what they are, it's nice to actually get your money's worth. Can't recommend this place enough.“
“The vibes here are immaculate ? and the selection of wine and drinks are impressive! Ryan, our server was super knowledgeable and friendly, and had the same taste in wine as me. His recommendation - a glass of 2017 Chorey-Les-Beaune pinot noir was spot on! We also tried a really cool peppery gin from Shanghai. Definitely check out this place!“
“A restaurant made for hyperbole. This may be the best food we’ve had at ANY restaurant. 4 people, 8 plates (and a ninth for desert). Each plate was 10/10 good. Wonderful service, great playlist, and a volume that meant you could hear what was playing but not have to shout over the table.Basically, our new fave Calgary restaurant. Amazing.“
“Cool vibe! We had the place to ourselves for an early lunch. Streams of twinkle lights and live plants. Tried the Za'atar Mozza Bites and Escargot (Special). For entree, my bro had the beautiful (Special) Octopus and I had the Mussels with coconut red curry sauce. We enjoyed every bite. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, but could use a bit more experience. Special lunch at a reasonable price before walking less than 10 minutes to the theatre. Convenient location with parking across the street.“
“Awesome food and tons of great, classic arcade games! You have to pay for the games, but you can do an unlimited timed play card and a group of 4 of us shared that and it was fine. You do have to wait a couple minutes between swipes though. Their Sunday happy hour ($5.5 everything in 2024) is a great deal for beer too!“
“Came for the YYC EXP, had a great experience! Lively room, lots of customers and live music, but you could still have a conversation. Great vibe. Excellent service, 10/10. Oh, and free parking ( in Inglewood)! Nice. The prix fix was a really good value, and really well executed:Arancini: perfect size, crunchy and creamy.Shrimp ceviche: wonderful balance, I could eat that sambal sauce all day.Meats and Beets: excellent cook on the beef and pork, but the pork wins the day with that open-fire smoke on it. Yum. Beets were a great foil, acidic/fresh.Desert: the lemon meringue (like roasted marshmallow)Excellent evening.“
“The keg 4 Ave is the only steakhouse in the city that's been able to cook me a perfect blue rare steak. Whenever I bring someone who likes theirs cooked normal, they say the same. The service, food and atmosphere is always perfect and consistent. The price is unbeatable to the other steakhouses in the city and they cook it far better.“
“Grand new to Calgary and decided to try out one night Stan’s and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such exceptional service as I had received from the server Paige met my tables expectations and then some definitely will be returning.“
“Thanks to everyone’s suggestion on Facebook YYC Food Page I had to check out The 4th Spot in the North with my visiting family!!Five stars to this amazing restaurant! Amazing comfort feeling as soon as you walk in the door followed by friendly service and phenomenal food the whole family will love!!We started with the Mediterranean Trio of Dips and I could have licked my plate! Three amazing homemade dips with what seem to be homemade chips! Even my toddler gobbled this down! For our mains we got Chuckwagon Chicken Sandwich , Smokey Bacon Carbonara , and Pesto Change - O and we were all blown away!!Our serve Emma was just the sweetest ?Now I’m just sad I don’t live closer to this fantastic restaurant!“
“Excellent establishment, food is good, service is fast, prices are very reasonable. They have several golf simulators and other games, which are all in great working order and well cared for. The staff, and owners are kind and accommodating. We hosted a big fundraising event and this venue was perfect. Highly recommend!“
“Went to a birthday party on Saturday night and had a great time! The live band was very good (not too loud, not too quiet), the line dancing lessons were fun and added to the atmosphere, the drinks were good, and there was a free pick up service with party bookings.“
“We had a group reservation for a birthday. It was our first time at Rodney’s. I had a broken foot and our table was on the second floor. My fiancé was going to piggy back me up the stairs. However, the manager was persistent in helping us out. I had one arm on his shoulder and another on my Fiancé’s, and got carried swiftly up the stairs. The ambience was great. The seafood was fresh and we had a great time celebrating our friend’s birthday. We would definitely come back again to try other dishes!Wheelchair accessibility: There is no elevator.“
“Outstanding venue with great food and service. Drinks were exemplary. Our server (gentlemen with the tortoise shell glasses) was one of their most attuned and courteous servers I’ve met. Even offered to take our photo when he noticed we were having fun. We had such a fantastic evening and can’t wait to come back. Hoping to meet our server again as well. Thank you very much :)“
“Good food! It's not as salty as the chain restaurant's food, which I really appreciated it. Dry ribs and wings were good. Beer was chilled enough for drinking when it is cold outside. Summer, I hope beer is colder as I like a really cold beer!“
“Quite surprised. Not really a place I would go. But due to road conditions we decided to stop our downtown trip short and have dinner here.Food was great. Had the new York strip and cauliflower bites. We were offered a free dessert for a personal celebration we had. Billy miners pie which was unreal. Would definitely go back.“
“My recent visit to the Mikey's was a mixed bag. While the ambiance of the place was pleasant and inviting, with a promise of a return visit, certain aspects left much to be desired.Bringing along a group of friends, we were excited to enjoy our evening. However, the experience soured when a member of the band began aggressively soliciting money for the concert. Not only was the $20 fee for a no-name band overpriced, but the pushy approach of the individual was off-putting and intrusive, dampening the overall enjoyment of the evening for all of us.On a positive note, the service provided by the waitress was exceptional. She was friendly, attentive, and contributed positively to our experience despite the inconvenience caused by the band member. In conclusion, while the bar itself has potential and warrants a return visit, improvements are needed in terms of managing events and ensuring a more enjoyable experience for the guests.“
“It’s a great pub. The food is top notch for the price and the menu is always rotating. Great big bar to sit at and watch the live fights or games. 3 good pool tables and a golden tee with a fun lively environment that opens the wallet up a bit wider. Between the staff and ownership, you can see how and why it’s a sleeper for a pub.I recommend to give it a go and try the specials they have daily.“
“Our flight home was canceled, so we decided to give this restaurant a try with our compensation vouchers. It was a bit of a walk from the domestic baggage area to the far end of the international arrivals but it was worth it. Sarah provided wonderful service and made a disappointing evening a little easier. The food was good and the drinks really it the spot. Despite being open to the terminal it was quiet and felt cozy.“
“I wish I could leave more than five stars for Tubby’s. We had a truly remarkable experience here on Jan 27 2024. We went to Tubby’s to celebrate a couple of Birthdays. Jon, the Owner, and the staff couldn’t have been more incredible. The appetizers and main courses were amazing! The Tubby Lager is fantastic! Great music and atmosphere! The cherry on top was when out for the kitchen came two Twinkie Birthday Cakes with candles and cherries on top. What a nice surprise. This place rules!!“
“A fantastic little watering hole people are friendly and the service is great would highly recommend to anybody's looking for a good watering hole not to mention it's 30 years old and has been run by the same family the whole time“
“Its amazing place for drinks, cocktails are really nice. There are not many options for food though. Eat before and go for drinks here. Ambience wise its amazing, you have to read a few signs to reach the door and then phone and password was a nice touch. Overall amazing “
“Anejo is a great place to meet friends or have a romantic dinner. Their drinks and food are amazing and it's one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to outside of Mexico! I keep going back over and over because I love it so much! I keep a supply of their famous spicy mayo and use it on almost everything it's so good!“
“This has become my goto place in the neighbourhood for ramen. As others have said, it's not the best ramen I've ever had, but it certainly hits the spot when I feel I want soup.Menu has more than just ramen if you're with someone who doesn't want it. Their agadashe tofu and their takoyaki is also decent.Service has been good when I've been there, but I tend to choose off times to visit. Free parking with easy to find spots is also a bonus.Go in with average expectations and I think you will be happy.“
“Sips Wine and Beer, nestled within the vibrant Avenida Food Hall, is a gem for beer enthusiasts and those seeking a lively atmosphere. The venue offers a delightful blend of live music, making it a perfect setting to unwind. The diverse selection of beers, wines, and cocktails caters to various tastes. Moreover, the opportunity to pair your drink with international cuisines from Avenida Food Hall adds an extra layer to the experience, making it a must-visit destination for a well-rounded and enjoyable evening.“
“Tried their NYE dinner buffet and were quiet impressed with the menu(Chef Macknel is brilliant) ! Loved the chickpea+cauliflower curry, soup, lamb, pimento cheese dip! The dessert section had a vast variety of dishes and that was easily the best dessert bar I have tried in Calgary! Kudos to the entire kitchen team. Our server for the evening was Najeer and he provided excellent service elevating the whole experience! Will definitely visit again“
“The team at Beautiful Renovations Kitchen did a great job in advising, drawing new plans, manufacturing replacement cabinets, all of the installation and making sure we were completely satisfied with all of their work. We also had them do a laundry room cabinet instalation and a linen closet instalation as well as a couple of other jobs. Everything was completed on time and to our satisfaction. This team of professionals was great to work with and we would highly recommend them.Services: Kitchen countertop replacement“
“Get transported to the 1920s where the booze is flowing albeit secretly and the music is the bee's knees. We were there last night holding a murder mystery filled with shady characters with hidden agendas. This place is very Chicago and made the perfect ambiance for our event. The long shelves in the back held some smart-looking antiques that truly belong in the 20s. The lighting is low and dim as if people wanted to keep their indiscretions secret and avoid a police raid at all costs. In the meantime you have comfy couches, candle light, and a fireplace to make things a little romantic. It was absolutely fabulous. The drinks in this establishment were excellent! The house wine was tasty in all the best ways and not too expensive. It had its own unique zip and the taste of velvet that should be in every glass of wine. Speaking of zip, don't be afraid to have a lemon drop shot. A round of these are known to make you brave when you are celebrating some good times. For a real good time, get one of their specialty cocktails like "Sinatra's Black Tuxedo." All that can be said about this drink is WOW!. The server made a whole display of bringing it on an old dresser dressed in a black tuxedo with mirror to get your picture taken. Then there was the drink itself. It was black at the bottom with white foam at the top. You can see the tuxedo for sure. The taste of it was not a sweet as one originally feared. It has a little sweetness but a nice mixture of sour thanks to the passion fruit. The service was pretty good but admitted that it could have been a little better. Upon entering there did not seem to be a server for over half an hour and no menus. Luckily, the QR code is found on the table and the ball got rolling by visiting the bartender himself. It wasn't their fault though, it was quite a night and not a lot of people on staff. As soon as the drinks were ordered everything became much better after that and had faster service. The servers knew their stuff. They knew every ingredient in their beverages, have good food recommendations (even though we didn't feel like eating), and made a wonderful presentation when we had a special cocktail. They were also very friendly and welcoming to us. They knew how to maneuver around us when we were putting on our show and that is no small feat. All and all, this place deserves five stars and beyond because they do go above and beyond for their patrons. To allow us to throw a murder mystery and play along with our characters, these guys deserve a medal. Must try more of their cocktails and some of those nice looking nachos that have been coming out of the kitchen all night long.“
