“I love this location downtown, and they have the friendliest staff! Everyone was super helpful and all of our meals were delicious. I specifically had the Chicken Parmesan and it was incredible! I highly recommend this location for dinner :)“
“We pre-ordered our food for a large group and not only was everything ready when we arrived, but Rain was very attentive to ensure our drinks were refilled throughout the meal. We were able to get in and out in one hour which was extremely satisfying!“
“Hello there, not sure if this is the best way to send compliments. However, we visited your premises on the 5th October. It was one of our final meals of our 2 week Canada and USA holiday. It was one of the best meals we had on our holiday….and of our life. Our server, Rackel, was the best servers we have ever had. She was so polite, genuine and kind. She truly made our experience at your Calgary venue extraordinary. As a nurse I pride myself on empathic communication- Rakel seemed to do this effortlessly. She is a credit to you, and she is the reason why we would consider visiting Calgary again from the UK. I will recommend all my family and friends to visit your Calgary establishment! Thank you for making our holiday extra special! Jamie and Josh (Cardiff, UK).“
“Amazing atmosphere (especially with the DJ on a Friday night) and friendly, attentive staff! Food and drinks were awesome, and both Alexa and Eric made sure to check up and took great care of us tonight. Great happy hour spot too! So worth checking out. We'll definitely be back!“
“I have stayed at Hotel Clique several times and dined at tonic kitchen and bar on every visit.I have to say that Nancy does an amazing job behind the bar. She is an absolute delight, treats her customers with respect, and is the life of the party. Not many people like that still in this industry. She’s a great brand ambassador!Don’t lose her!“
“I've visited this place several times to treat clients to lunch, and I must say, the food and service are exceptional. Every staff member is attentive and fantastic, including the manager—I believe her name is Desiree. I highly recommend this place for either lunch or dinner.“
“Our family brought us to this lovely gem of a sport for our 37th Anniversary dinner. While very unassuming it did not disappoint.. We started with the Calamari which was delicious. All of our entrees where also very delicious. I had the steak and it was done to perfection and very tasty. The same was true of the salmon, chicken breast and the hot chicken sandwich . The servers where very attentive and made sure every one was happy, which we where. To top off a special dinner the staff brought a complimentary sampling of their house made ice cream. FANTASTIC. Thanks again for a memorable experience. I would highly recommend.“
“First visit to Calgary, we're walking down the Center street looking for grub. We fall upon the Local Public Eatery. Quick check up on Facebook and it's very well rated. in we went. Decor is like a Ranch meets Sports Bar. Warm and welcoming. Great staff with wonderful service. You can also play Jenga while you wait. • Good Burger but not mind-blowing. utilitarian. • VERY GOOD Onion rings. So much so, we had seconds. • My girlfriend had the Steak + Frite. The fries looked a little anemic but turned out great. crunchy but not dry and very flavourful. the steak was super tasty and was like butter in the mouth. • Accompanying sauces with the steak and the rings were also quite delicious. And we got to see a real life cowboy. In the end my mind wasn't blown, but it was far better than average and I would go again easy.“
“My wife and I had our wedding reception at The Lake House and it truly was beautiful! The scenery and the elegance of the restaurant itself are incomparable for a wedding venue. From there we go to the food. The food was absolutely delicious and all of of our guests praised the restaurant for the amazing options they were presented along with how absolutely tasty every single bite was. From the appetizers, to the main course, to the dessert and the late night snack, every single bite was spectacular. As we continue on the accommodating and excellence of service go beyond compare. Every step of the way the team at The Lake House catered to what our wants were and offered great advice and options to make sure we landed on the right decision. When spending so much money on everything to do with a wedding it can add up and you want to make sure the value is there and that you’re not over spending on one thing vs. another. They made sure that as costs added up for us elsewhere we really saw the value while still getting an elite, exceptional, beyond compare venue that just took care of nearly everything. My wife and I live busy lives and had a baby shortly after our wedding and have repeatedly told each other since the wedding we truly owe it to the restaurant to make sure we sit down, take time and praise how truly happy we were with our experience in a review so that everyone knows and we can hopefully give them some extra business and help others have as spectacular an experience as us. Since our time there many of our guests have shared how much they loved the experience there and said that they could not think of a better place to have a wedding venue. We do live out of town so we do t get to go back as often as we’d like but our anniversary is just around the corner and we’re very excited to go back to The Lake House to enjoy this day as well. Thank you everyone at The Lake House for sharing our moment with us and making it unforgettable! We truly appreciate you!“
“We had an amazing dining experience. The food was so savoury, my favourite was the shrimp toastie with the beet salad a close 2nd. What made the evening extra enjoyable was the knowledge, friendly and attentive service… our server was Kait. Truly one of the best dining experiences I have had… thanks!!“
“The only reason I enjoyed my time here was because I was served by Sophie! Sophie’s service was unlike anything I have ever experienced, not only was she attentive, courteous, and polite, she made sure we had more fun than any other table in the building! Sophie took care of a reservation for 30+ people and the entire time acted as if it was effortless. Her sense of humour was like nothing else I have ever experienced from a server. I will be coming back but ONLY to request a table in Sophie’s section!“
“Our party of four just had one of the best dining experiences EVER! tonight at Klein Harris! We opted for a “sharing meal” vs individual entrees and everything we ordered was spectacular…. Chef Jamie has a real talent for combining flavours & textures….he could be the winner on any of your favourite TV cooking shows! And it made me proud to know “Canadian Cuisine” could be so elevated! Christina is a marvel with the cocktails…forget ordering a bottle of wine!…you’ll want to try as many of their delicious drinks as you can! And if you’re really fortunate, Justin will be your server… attentive, personable, professional…trust his suggestions and you won’t go wrong! Best dining experience we’ve had in forever! Going back soon. I know I’ll be having cravings until I do!“
“Pigeonhole in Calgary is a fine dining experience in culinary ingenuity and delight. The menu is rather limited and some items are quite pricey so this may not be the place to bring the kids, but incredibly enough they do have a hot dog on the menu. I went with the Stracchiatella & Grilled Radicchio- an absolute flavor festival- along with the Grilled Broccolini and Cheese. Both were fabulous. Service was excellently attentive and quite helpful. Very much recommended.“
“Food was great but the atmosphere was a bit off. Battle of alberta game and UFC this night. 5 TVs were UFC, 1 flames game and 1 golf from our vantage point. It took 20 minutes for them to put an additional TV to thr Flames game. Otherwise a great night.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp up to the bar, elevator in the parkade.“
“I enjoyed my dinner here but I feel it could use some improvements. The hostess was amazing and the server was friendly but seemed nervous, got the specials mixed up and stood next to our table during down times which was awkward. The artichoke dip and bread was delicious but only came with 4 triangles for 4 people. 2/3 of the dip was left so we asked for more bread. Please ensure there are at least 2 pieces of break per person. We weren't sure how we were supposed to finish the dip The duck 2 ways was the star of the dinner. Beautifully cooked, gnocchi could be its own dish and veg and sauce was perfect. The stuffed chicken was cooked perfectly but the stuffing lacked flavour. The 2 other guests said you couldn't taste the ham or mushrooms. The potato pave was a nice change from the norm The tapioca dessert lacked flavour. The non tapioca parts were the best Ginger cake was amazing. Very refreshing with a lot of fruit. * note the table had trouble reading the dessert menu. You may be quick to say “are they dumb” but having the title on the right hand side and the ingredients underneath was an issue. Our senior with us thought the ingredients were different desserts as did someone with us with a learning disability. We can't be the only table with this issue. Drinks were good and great value compared to other places Overall I would come again when the menu changes. It's a great learning environment but definitely needs some tweaks“
“This moxies was awesome we spent too much time at ikea we came in hangry. It started with a WONDERFUL hostess, red/black lashed seating us.Then Ashton taking care of us all night. Our drinks were always full. The kitchen put out delicious and perfect food.Atmosphere was relaxing and the music was the right volume!“
“What a great little Local spot off of 4th Street! We tried the Breakfast Poutine (sub poached eggs) and Eggs Benedict with a pancake.Food was delicious, fresh and homemade. Good ingredients. Definitely much better then a typical over processed Restaurant. The hot sauce is delicious, I was pleasantly surprised and not overpowering (ask for it!).Would recommend and will definitely be back!“
“I cannot say enough about Hannah!! This girl took all 8 of our orders without writing a single thing down and didn’t skip a beat!! We ordered more food and once again it was on point! She remembered everything! The kitchen was also fantastic as the food was delicious!! Honestly one of the best experiences at any restaurant we’ve ever had! Thanks guys for a great dinner!“
“Our waiter was fantastic - super quick service, really friendly, and super helpful. The drinks were good, though a bit heavy on the ice. Food was on point - loved the burger, fish and chips, and the steak was delicious. Amazing service all around. Will definitely be back!“
“Food and drinks were great, as always. I ordered steak and shrimp - Creole style this time and surely did not disappoint . It was perfectly cooked with a nice kick of spicyness. Also the best Sangria I've ever had. Next time we will request an extra scoop of the vanilla ice cream to the Lava cake. Zack was fantastic, very cheerful and you can tell he likes what he's doing with the fun character he adds with his service! Thank you!Parking: Sufficient parking space“
“Had a lovely experience at the Cactus Club. It was our first time dining at a Cactus Club and we will certainly be back. Had a great brunette server who was training she was very sweet. Came during Happy hour and was highly impressed. Straws have a weird texture which minuses half a star and meat cook was slightly off so that minuses another half. Wish I could bathe in the avocado dip and truffle aioli. Highly recommend truffle fries and avo dip and maybe pair it with a peach liniowski ambiance slayed with the low light super pretty and cutie inside but the buffalo painting needs to go. why is it lit up? PLEASE CHANGE YOUR STRAWS. Maybe add a slip and slide or a ball pit to spice things up“
“We sat at the bar and the experience was amazing. Vibes were great, we had the perfect view of the chef plating all dishes. Bartender was awesome! The food was exceptional, highlights were the the pork belly & scallops and carrot cake. My mocktail was also delicious. We’ll be back?“
“Everything about this place is amazing! The food, the customer service and how clean it is. Every time I think about eating here my mouth waters every time.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are delicious I find it hard to find places that have actually good vegetarian options but cactus club has the best selectionKid-friendliness: My Kids love eating here and they love the servers that bring my kids to smile every time we visit.“
“A great place, service is top notch. The food is delicious and well presented. It might be the season, but it was a lot of very rich "bass note" type foods. Great stuff but a touch overwhelming in that respect. If you're getting flowers delivered though, be aware they might not be on the table when you get there... disappointing but they came through in the end.“
“The sushi was delicious especially the spicy California Roll, I really liked the teriyaki Chicken and the Korrokke was to die for. The service was great friendly and very helpful in choosing the right dish for those who want recommendations. They have very comfortable seats with good space between the tables, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. I highly recommend visiting this awesome restaurant.“
“Donna Mac never disappoints. On our last visit for Sunday brunch, we had the Latke Eggs Benedict and shared the Apple Pave for dessert. We make mean latkes at home but have to tip our hats to Donna Mac as theirs are every bit as good if not better (it pains me to say that lol). The Apple Pave presents like five-star cuisine but eats like something straight out of grandma's kitchen.“
“So - King Eddy’s is pretty amazing! The location was within walking distance from our hotel, and we’re so glad we decided to give it a try.We were lucky enough to visit on a night when they featured some pretty epic comedians! The service is exceptional- we lacked for nothing. Stephanie was our server, she was friendly, efficient and attentive. I enjoyed the poutine and house salad. Mr. Wonderful had a burger, fries and a cabbage and apple coleslaw. Everything was served promptly and was delicious. If you’re anywhere near this establishment - make sure to pay it a visit - it’s well worth it.“
“We absolutely loved Black Apron Cuisine! Steve was amazing to work with to plan our memorial service with very little notice. He worked with our dietary concerns and the food was delicious! They have so many great pre-planned menu's to choose from and it made it simple and easy to order. I can't say enough how great the food was and it was healthy and flavourful! Our family would highly recommend!“
“This place is a classic restaurant that everyone can't help but love. The food is outstanding, the owner, and their son are gems that are honestly the heart and soul of the restaurant. If you haven't tried this restaurant yet, just do yourself a favor and do it. This place is 100% a staple of the community and I hope it stays this awesome forever.“
“Very nice restaurant in Kensington. We had the place to ourselves as it didn't seem like a St. Patty's hotspot. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent.Dietary restrictions: Really, just thet they asked if we had any.Parking: Paid parking lots around. Free street parking if you can find itWheelchair accessibility: They appeared to have a ramp“
“Went for Afternoon Tea with a friend. We were greeted with very friendly service. Sat at a lovely table by the window. Waitress explained the tea. We ordered wine it came quickly and the wine service was wonderful. We had told our server we’d would like the tea tray with our wine to enjoy the savoury items. Then the tea later for the more traditional items. We finished our wine and still no tea tray. We had to ask when it might be coming out. It was over 30 minutes. We were told shortly. Meanwhile the tables on either side. One family of 8 and a deuce had both, been seated after us but were being served. A bit disappointing. When the tea arrived it was beautifully presented both physically and by our server who explained all that was presented. From the fresh scones with the clotted cream to the lamb tarts. All fantasticWhen we left my tea companion mentioned how lovely the tarts were. The manager asked us to wait and ran to present her with 4 to enjoy at homeOverall. Lovely tea. Just needed to be more observant of the timing. I would go back for a special occasion.Would have 5 stars if the timing was better“
“Everything was outstanding! The food was phenomenal! An extremely classy restaurant. Yet we were not rushed or hurried in any way. Our waiter, Greg, was professional and such a sweetheart! Thank you for making our rather large party, feel so comfortable!“
“My favourite restaurant in Calgary. I've been going once a month since it first opened in 2008-ish and have no intention of slowing down. The food and service have consistently been fantastic since the day they opened. Great staff and management. I should have posted a review for them years ago, but better late than never I suppose. Their burgers and sandwiches are incredible, and come with two sides (and an impressive assortment too). With food prices being what they are, it's nice to actually get your money's worth. Can't recommend this place enough.“
“A great atmosphere at this location, food is always on point and the staff are all great. My youngest and I go for breakfast frequently and the way she is treated brings a smile to her face for the rest of the day! when you leave somewhere and your daughter can't stop talk about how good she was treated and how it makes her feel so good inside, that is a win!!“
“I love this cafe! The vibe, service, the latte everything was superb. It’s a great location too! It’s a nice place to catch up with your friends, colleagues and even do some work if you love working from coffee shops, or simply relax and enjoy your coffee:)“
“Came for the YYC EXP, had a great experience! Lively room, lots of customers and live music, but you could still have a conversation. Great vibe. Excellent service, 10/10. Oh, and free parking ( in Inglewood)! Nice. The prix fix was a really good value, and really well executed:Arancini: perfect size, crunchy and creamy.Shrimp ceviche: wonderful balance, I could eat that sambal sauce all day.Meats and Beets: excellent cook on the beef and pork, but the pork wins the day with that open-fire smoke on it. Yum. Beets were a great foil, acidic/fresh.Desert: the lemon meringue (like roasted marshmallow)Excellent evening.“
“It's our fourth time at Delmonico Restaurant, and each visit has been delightful, particularly due to the kindness of the waitstaff and the consistent deliciousness of the food. This time, we visited as a family: mom, dad, and our child. We requested a customized Caesar salad with crispy chicken, and they graciously accommodated our request.Parking: You can find a free street parking on the street on noon hours.“
“In line with the restaurant, I’ve structured to 8 points of my dining experience. 1. RESERVATIONS & GETTING THERE If you’re very lucky you can get a reservation. Watch out for their announcement/s at Instagram and book at TOCK. I got mine in November 2021 for February 2022 dinner. Chef Darren shared that in the latest offering, 36,000 people went in and it sold out in 30 seconds. You will receive an email for dining reservations and included are instructions how to get to Eight. Located at ALT hotel at East Village in Calgary, Alberta. Complimentary underground parking. Be early, reception will send you at NUPO bar before you’ll be invited over to the secret door leading to your seat. 2. FOOD There are no words to describe the gastronomical experience this 15-course dinner (with snacks) offered. All the superlatives can be used. Fall in love with the plethora of Canadian ingredients married into the greatness Chef Darren’s mind. Well intentioned sourcing of fresh local, farm owned ingredients in your plate. Each made great with time whether it’s the reclaimed dairy cow’s beef, cured bacon goodness — it’s clear! (yum) and rich chicken broth. From east to west ingredients, indulge in what each coast brings through texture, colour and scents. It’s a win after win, one plate, one bowl at a time. 3. PAIRINGS Truly recommended to take it! As serendipity has it, it was Season 8 and Eight’s 2nd anniversary. The last pairing of Espresso, Licor 43 was replaced by a Ruinart Blanc de Blanc to celebrate with Chef Darren and his staff. Lucky! 4. AMBIENCE Low light, one bulb overhead per person highlights the food in front of you. Across is a marbled island where the action happens. It’s a cozy distance to chat with other guests to your side and still well-spaced to enjoy your spot (and your date!) Leather bar seats, metal backing art at the corner adds to the mystery feel of the eluded box. 5. STORY TELLING This is a vital part of the dining experience. Chef Darren walks through the history of ingredients and how he came up with the course. Very interesting, heartwarming and funny stories to hear. 6. SYMPHONY The smooth flow of chef, assistants and server movements : cooking, plating, serving timing, wine glass replacement and bread offering is a flawless operations at an optimum (small) space. It is a feat. 7. CERAMICS The handmade, locally made plate counts. The 24 Karat lined cup and the stacked bowl of snacks counts. It’s beautiful. Hello Quinspired Ceramics ✨ 8. INVESTMENT Worth every Canadian dollar. $245pp dinner + $145pp pairing (optional) + 20% gratuity + taxes Ending note: There is a no photo policy and it suits your dinner experience as you’re fully immersed into the story telling and presentation. You are given a small folder, tucked in is the menu + pairing details. Inside the folder is poignant essay of Chef Darren’s thoughts how the Canadian Reflection Menu came about. Take it as poetry! A map of Canada is inserted and handwritten in each province were ingredients used that night. Overall, this was a great experience. Calgary is lucky to have Eight. Well done! Bravo Chef Darren! Now, best of luck to booking a seat!“
“Enjoyed every bit of our time at Moxies during our 3 nights stay at the Sandman hotel. Wonderful happy staff with a great vibe pub side lounge. Starters are amazingly fresh and well prepared. We enjoyed some great traditional English breakfast and our evenings at the bar. Coming back for sure ?“
“A great date night or group night out. I am so glad that there are places like this still around. It was so neat to read about all the famous people over the decades that had been in a production on the Stage West stage at one point.Service was very friendly and the location is well kept. The buffet is pretty cool, however there are not very many vegetarian or vegan options that aren't bread rolls and fresh produce. There was still enough options that I was able to eat until I was full, but I would have enjoyed it much more had there been more for me to choose from.Vegetarian options: The buffet is pretty cool, however there are not very many vegetarian or vegan options that aren't bread rolls and fresh produce. “Butcher pizza. Excellent. High quality meat. Lots of cheese, although it was slightly over done. Great and plentiful sauce. Decent size. Server grated fresh parmesan and brought chilli flakes for the pizza, which is a tick up on my pretentious restaurant review. Service was wonderful and company was delightful. I firmly recommend!“
“Thank you! Last night I dined with friends at Earl's--not my choice. Tonight at Joey's was a whole new experience--for the better, much better! Your prices were not inflated; they were reasonable (well, except the dessert was a bit pricey, but then I do not think I have ever tasted a more delicious dessert!) Albeit, we only had drinks and dessert. The waitresses we had the pleasure of interacting with were gracious, friendly and fun--just right! I wish I knew their names. All together the experience was amazing! Top notch! Koodos to Joey's and their staff at Crowfoot Crossing!“
“Came here last night and had the yyc experience menu. My favorite was course 1 - pork belly with prawns, the flavors complimented each other so well, the pork belly was melt in your mouth with just the right amount of sweetness. If this was a regular item on the menu, I'd definitely be going back just for that. It was a full house but they were still quick and friendly. Overall, great time and would come back to try other things.“
“Imagine going to a place and being clueless about everything there because you never go out to eat in the first place, but trying to step out and experience life differently with Family. I wouldn't say we were an easy guest in any way, but we had an amazing angel named BELLA on duty who provided such fantastic and memorable experience. She has made it literally impossible to think of trying out another restaurant. If you are ever in doubt that customer service can be so exceptional that you will be willing to pay again even without ordering the food, then give this place a visit, ask for Bella, and be the judge yourself.“
“Our flight home was canceled, so we decided to give this restaurant a try with our compensation vouchers. It was a bit of a walk from the domestic baggage area to the far end of the international arrivals but it was worth it. Sarah provided wonderful service and made a disappointing evening a little easier. The food was good and the drinks really it the spot. Despite being open to the terminal it was quiet and felt cozy.“
“This is the closest Red's to me and it can come in handy on lazy Saturday or Sunday morning. TAT for food preparation is pretty quick, but time to get sitting can be a pain in the tummy. The host that tried to sit us in during my last visit did a very poor job of cleaning the table before sitting us there, so we could barely put our hands on the table or even the menu for that matter. But Marco came and saved the day. Food is always excellent here and it can make up for the time spent waiting in line.“
“A must visit restaurant. The food is wonderful & well priced. A great selection of wine & cocktails. I’ve been here a few times now & have never been disappointed. Cozy environment, clean facilities, ample parking & it’s one of Calgary’s historic must-visit restaurants. Excellent customer service, Nikki is the best, wonderful management team.“
“Our family had a wonderful dinner here, thanks to Oleksandr, who is working here, and invited us. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Brogan, our server, was simply amazing, adding to the excellent dining experience. We ordered the salmon, poke bowl, west coast pizza, and cheesecake, and each dish was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend visiting for an unforgettable meal!“
“This boutique restaurant checks all the boxes. Service (exceptional - Big Shout OutTo Emma and the entire Team), Ambience (incredible), Culinary Creativity (flavourful and absolutely heavenly and to die for). The way all the entire team presents the menu and the exquisite details of each dish excites your palette. An experience beyond expectations!“
