“What a difference a few years can make!! Music was no longer a main feature!! Food was visibly fresh and well managed, staff was quick, accurate and ready with paper menus. Sashimi platter features were well cut, fresh. Calamari app is crisped just right, not overcooked or under cooked. Sushi rolls I had N Lights and Señor Larry, rice was perfect!! Not overly soft or under done.Great time!! Would actually take friends or family!!!Non alcoholic mix drinks are available on request.“
“We love coming to Sushi Michi! We've come here 4 times now and have been super happy with our food, drinks, and service. Even when you can tell they are short-staffed, they somehow still do a great job with service. Cute little spot - can't wait for the outside patio to open!“
“Phenomenal food. Service leaves a little to be desired but is understandable as this seems to be a small family run joint. Purple rice may be a gimmick, but doesn’t affect taste at all. Sushi burritos have become a must have for my fiancé and I on a weekly basis. Service can take longer than expected due to the large amount of takeout orders, but the food is worth the wait. Absolutely love this place!“
“We've been coming to Shinko just about once a week for a while now and I can't believe I never though to leave a review. I absolutely love their ramen! I bounce back and forth between the pork and the chicken (extra spicey on mine) and both are fantastic. The gyoza and jalapeño poppers are also amazing. The real gem though, is the staff. They're some of the friendliest people I've ever met and I look forward to saying hello to them every time I come. I can't say enough how much I enjoy and appreciate they're service. 100% recommended to anybody who wants great food made by great people!“
“Been coming here for 8 years and never had a bad experience. The food is delicious and the place has a really nice vibe. The manager has been there as long as I can remember and he's always actively working the floor and is extremely polite. You can tell he genuinely enjoys his job and cares about the experience you have when you are there. I've been to a ton of sushi places in Phoenix, and there are several that I really like, but Sushiholic is my favorite.“
“This sushi is delicious. The prices are very very fair, especially their amazing deals on lunch specials for sushi and bentos.Don’t let the outside fool you, the area is a little rough and it’s hidden, but the service is genuine and fast, and I feel I am getting more than what I paid for.“
“My friends and I are often on a quest to find true mom and pop restaurant or hole in the walls and this really did it for us! They have Korean bbq booths but also other seating where you can order from a menu or ask them to cook the kbbq for you in the back if you don't want to grill it yourself. It has a lot of the go to Japanese and Korean meals you would expect, as well as a lot of authentic meals (I had a Korean tripe soup). The family running the restaurant was super friendly and genuine people. If you like Asian food and want a mom and pop experience, I'd give this place a go! I'll definitely have to come back!“
“Excellent daily deals, and "reverse happy hour" from 6pm–Close ($5 draft, half-price rolls, etc.). Food and drink selection is excellent. Friendly staff and charming atmosphere. Excellent for a date night, or family dinner, and even has a separate bar area for watching sports. A hidden gem.Parking: In a plaza: large, free, shared parking area.“
“We went in there after my sons haircut next door. I had ordered a couple of times from here on Doordash, and the food was always amazing. However, this was our first time dining in. Everyone that works here is so genuinely kind. It’s really nice to see a family- run business where everyone looks like they LOVE what they do. The food came out quick, was hot, and had amazing flavor. The owner also gave my toddler a light up wand, and he left as if he had just visited the happiest place on earth. Thank you ?“
“Absolutely LOVE this place. Ate sushi for the very first time and now I’m addicted. The fish is very fresh and reasonably priced (in my opinion). The service is great and the presentation of all the dishes is beautiful. Highly highly recommend!“
“We absolutely loved this restaurant for a birthday dinner! The food was delicious, unique, and came in perfect portions to try a variety. This sort of dining experience is most fulfilling when you take your time and try a lot of different dishes, it was a perfect treat for a wonderful night out!“
“Food is good, but boy have priced gone up. Tried new things this time around and although good, it wasn't great for the price and will go back to ordering my normal fare. Service is always good which is a plus. Small place but always busy.“
“I've been going here since I was a freshman in 2010. Used to grab a bite or drink here and go to the Burton Barr Library. My husband has been going here since he was little. Now I take my kids here occasionally to get a bite! Lyn is the sweetest and we love talking to her while she's there. 10/10!!!“
“Absolutely amazing atmosphere, the server and staff were so friendly and quick! Fresh and simple ingredients!! Had a woodfire pizza and it was delicious! Their cocktails are creative. & delicious!! I’m so glad I found this gem while waking downtown! Definitely gonna be back!“
“I LOVE this place. The renovations look great. This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant and have been going there for years. I've moved and will still drive an hour to go here. The blue flame roll and the spicy shrimp never disappoint!“
“We came here for the first time and we are so glad we did. The food is excellent! We had the yellow tail hamachi, some shrimp tempura and a dynamite and rainbow roll and everything was on point. Full of flavor and just delicious. Our server Chin was amazing, super friendly and he made good recommendations and was just so nice to have great service. We will definitely be back!“
“When you walk in for dinner the lighting gives a warm atmosphere. Very clean non-cluttered feel to the place. We had hot sake, egg rolls, and edamame during happy hour. Following a few rolls which were all delicious and of course some fresh sashimi. A definite place to stop by, vibe and happy hour with loved ones or “
“Hands down the very best sushi in the state of arizona. Anytime I am in town. My entire family eats here, and we bring all our friends here. They are friendly, courteous, clean, and their food is 5 star. If you're lucky enough to talk to the chef, hes shy, and humble and will make you anything you want within reason, Of course but they are just the best. I wish they were in my Hometown. Eat here when you can. It's the healthiest and yummy's sushi place I have ever eaten at!!!!!“
“Love this place. Owners are always there. Fresh and unique items if you like more traditional sushi. It’s a lot more than just tuna and salmon. If you sit at the sushi bar, the chefs will talk to you and make recommendations and actually have a personality which is rare. I’ve never had sushi chefs, maintain a conversation with me over the course of a meal. I let them pick and choose where I go and customize whatever they wanna do, I love it; it’s a great experience“
“Went in and got some take out for lunch. I was very pleasantly surprised to find this place. The bartender who took my order was extremely friendly and shared lots of info about the restaurant. The atmosphere is really nice and cozy, we'll definitely be coming back here for dinner. My lunch sushi was amazing! My boyfriend is a chef and has spoiled my taste buds a bit and I could really taste all the high quality/house made ingredients that really set them apart.“
“I ordered teriyaki chicken and sesame chicken. I loved both, but I will have to tell them not to make the Teriyaki chicken too hot. It did take me 3 days to eat it all... worth it, but I was a fire-breathing dragon. I will eat here again.Parking: Great, easy parking right out front.“
“Loved it.I have been craven sushi for a few days. Found this spot in a google map search. It had good reviews. We went, the food was fantastic and fresh. We must have been hungry because I forgot to take my pictures of the food. You did see the pictures I did take? Lacking, but trust me, it's goooodt. This is all you can eat, made to order sushi and other items.“
“This is the first time in years that we left a sushi restaurant feeling so disappointed. We have eaten sushi all over the world and this was the worse so far. I reminded my husband that we didn't like it last time, but we thought we would try it again since it had been awhile and it is right around the corner from our house. Never again. Not sure why it shows up as three stars. I would not give it three stars. maybe two....“
“I’ve been here before but today was just amazing! I stopped in for lunch with my mom and uncle and we all loved it. First off, Camille was so sweet and attentive. She was an excellent server and full of joy. All of the sushi we had was great as well, and the teriyaki chicken was also great! Appetizers were generously portioned and I highly recommend the takoyaki and shrimp tempura as well as the gyoza. The excellent food quality and service cannot be beat! I’ll definitely be back and recommending this location to my friends and family.Dietary restrictions: The menu has indications for what foods are gluten free and what is raw fish. Ingredients are clearly listed if you have any intolerances.“
“My friends and I are often on a quest to find true mom and pop restaurant or hole in the walls and this really did it for us! They have Korean bbq booths but also other seating where you can order from a menu or ask them to cook the kbbq for you in the back if you don't want to grill it yourself. “I've been eating here since they open a few years back and never have I had bad service and staff is always friendly. The prices are cheaper then most Asians takeout.Vegetarian options: You can order a bowl without meat and replace with steam veggies and they have salads.“
“This restaurant always comes through for us. It is our local go-to place for a Phoenix sushi roll and large bowl of Miso soup with a side of tofu. Yum. Prices are reasonable considering other sushi places that have outrageous prices and lower quality. The service is always efficient and friendly. It's a little neighborhood gem.“
“new to phoenix area and was told about this place from multiple coworkers and it has to be the best teriyaki joint I’ve tried, I drive 35 mins just to snag me bowl BANG FOR YOUR BUCKS , great prices and the crew are always a delight , the manager always remembers my orders when he greets me with hospitality and welcome.“
“We were looking for sushi close to GCU and we found this cozy little place. We have never heard of Mexican sushi have it a try and we’re in love. If you love Mexican food and sushi....you NEED to try this! The staff was very friendly and made excellent suggestions!“
“I tried a to go order today for the first time from samurai Sam's. The customer service was delightful, everyone was smiling and helpful. The food was delicious and in my opinion not overpriced. My husband had the orange chicken and I had eggrolls and we are both quite happy“
“We love visiting this location. Unfortunately it seems like every time we go on the weekends are closed but today we hit the jackpot. They were open! Food quality is very good. Storefront though could use a little dusting and cleaning of the windows other than that it was great. The cashier spoke very quietly and mumbled so it was hard to hear him but the dude working the counter to pack all the food was kicking butt and he was very nice.“
“This place is absolutely good! Not only does it have sensual appeal (taste good) it has visual appeal too. Man I have to really give them the best rating as far as really good tasting food! Do not just take my word for it. Please do yourself some justice and order absolutely anything here. It all taste good. Not just when you are hungry but tasty really good. I will really be back! Oh did I say it taste good? Yeah!!!“
“I have been eating here off and on for 30 years. The food & customer service is excellent. Sadly, like most restaurants, the portions have shrank tremendously. (which is understandable considering our economy). Sadly I'll no longer eat here because the cost doesn't justify the small portions.“
“I walked into the restaurant very unfamiliar with the menu or how to order. Not only did the young lady at the front help me place my order, but she made some excellent suggestions for my meal. The food was pretty good for fast food sushi, and the establishment was very clean.“
“The service was awesome! Our server was very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. The restaurant is not huge, it is a nice size with a warm atmosphere. It was very busy which to me is usually a good sign. We have had a hard time finding a sushi place that didn't serve 99% cooked/tempura rolls. Until we came here! We had five different rolls ALL uncooked with no cream cheese! Our two requests when eating sushi. We also had three different types of sashimi, all tasted amazing and very fresh! The bluefin sashimi is RIDICULOUS in the best way!! We will absolutely be back...this may be our new go to sushi place. It was worth the drive! Also, the owner Alex was very nice, professional and was actively helping in all areas of the restaurant. You can tell he loves what he does and is so knowledgeable about sushi! He had great recommendations!“
“The food at Yogis Grill was phenomenal and I very much enjoyed it. I went with my grandma since im here in arizona for the summer and I went on google and searced for teriyaki near me and then I found Yogis Grill. The Customer Service was very good and helpful. I would recommend to anyone who likes delicious food! Thanks Yogis Grill!“
“The broth was amazing! I had the spicy miso ramen and added the soft boiled egg. Happy hour options for drinks and appetizers were great. The server was so nice and everyone kept checking to make sure I liked my food and that I had everything I needed.“
“Super cute traditional teriyaki restaurant set up. Nice wood tables. Prob the best chicken teriyaki bowl I've ever had! Meat was tender, juicy and the sauce is amazing. Tastes homemade. Love the carrot ginger dressing for the side salad. First time here and will definitely go back!“
“It is worth every penny: The hood sauce is absolutely immaculate and by far one of the most wonderful flavors I've had in a long time. If you're looking to support a local business, I'd highly recommend giving Hoodbachi a chance.I sincerely hope this kitchen can evolve into a brick and mortar store someday soon.“
“Clean, good food. Could be organized better, back drink area had boxes sitting around and torn open. The floor when you walk in the store dirt leaves had blown in, staff noticed but was totally busy standing around and talking phones etcOtherwise good food nice place could have alot going for it.“
“Best habatchi in town. Fried rice is great and the sauces that go along with the meal chefs kiss. The only things that could be a little better are the timing of when the food comes out --not bad if you order ahead. And also the seating arrangements if you stay to eat are difficult.“
“Absolutely Glorious! I recommend for Arizona tourist. As a native of Arizona this is the freshest seafood and poultry dishes. Also, the vegetables we genuinely perfect with a slight crunch; I loved the freshness of my veggies. Portion was large. Don't let the container fool you. I had plenty of leftovers. The owner and staff are very welcoming.“
“We hadn't been back for many years, the change of ownership, pandemic, etc. But after several years, we decided to return. It was just as great as we remembered it, except really crowded on Friday. That's great it's crowded, that means the food rotates often. The number of selections were very good as usual but this time there were not as many raw fish plates as they were before so you had to wait quite a while before the raw fish would get replenished. There were a lot of rolls and other odds and ends items like egg rolls, desserts, apple juice, etc.All of the fish plates we had seemed fresh, and were not fishy smelling. The small cheesecakes were delicious as well as the tiramisu. Most of the raw fish plates were in the $3.75 green plate category. We ended up eating quite a bit. And I had 16 green plates and a handful of other colored plates. I also had an iced tea which was delicious and they refilled it often. My total was $93 before tax and tip. And I did not feel overstuffed but I was satiated. The other person who came with me probably only got half as many plates and a soda and he seemed to enjoy all of his plates as well. The only thing that I was uncertain about is the clam sushi because I didn't know if it was cooked or raw and what it was supposed to taste like. It was quite chewy and I did not like it uncooked so I did not eat the second piece.Overall excellent place clean and great service. The only thing we would ask is for more raw fish and sushi on the conveyor belt at a time so we wouldn't have to wait as long for them to come around. Although you may see a few bad reviews overall the restaurant continues to do well and have overall high reviews by many many people even after changing ownership and luckily surviving the pandemic.“
“Updated menu with far more reasonable prices than the last iteration of this place. The food brings me back to Japan. It is absolutely the real deal from a chef that masters the staple foods that everyone loves. The kakuni (pork belly) udon was delicious and the portions were generous. Authentic Japanese comfort food.“
“My lord this is the best food I’ve ever ate in my life. I’m not a seafood eater and I absolutely love their rolls. I hope when I died this is the food they serve in heaven. To add to your experience, the drinks are off the chart. They have so many exotic beer with so many different flavors. If you are looking to spice up your life, some get this great food.“
