“We walked in and were able to wait for a seat at the bar. What a great experience. The energy is so high. The food is fantastic. Great flavor in every bite. Highly recommend for couples to do that if a reservation isn’t possible. The staff is so attentive. All of the salsas were so good and some were hot. The beans are crazy good. Try it!!!“

“Never been to Phoenix area before and wanted to find a very local authentic restaurant. We found it....Cocina Madrigal was exactly what we were looking for...We actually sat at the bar since there was a short wait for a table. I was here with a college friend who lived out of the state also. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. We had the combination Taco/Burros/Tamales/Enchiladas...Our gracious bartend/waitress suggested the perfect way they should be prepared. All the employees were very friendly and make you feel incredibly welcomed. Highly recommend and we will return when we are traveling through Phoenix..“

“Without a doubt one of the best Mexican Restaurants in Phoenix. A very different style from typical Sonoran Mexican food. Great Monday drink specials and very friendly attentive staff. Food came out hot with a lovely presentation. Definitely a higher end style of Mexican food!!

“Tacos Chisco is awesome! The owners/staff are friendly, the location is central and the food is to die for. The Cochinita Pibil, Carnitas, Quessabirria, fresh chips, and amazing drinks are my top recommendations. I haven’t had a bad meal here and the staff has always been more than friendly. The Cochinita Pibil is, “like growing up back home” which is a great compliment coming from my wife. It is that good. My friend said the fish tacos were the best she has ever had. And plenty of TVs with the game on for those that are worried about missing the game. They also have some outdoor games for drinking and family fun. - This past Mother’s Day we decided to try their catering taco bar at home. We were not disappointed and would definitely recommend it. The food was great, the fixings were perfect, and the churros were a hit! I would definitely recommend Tacos Chisco for a great meal.“

We love coming here, and my absolute favorite dish is the Phoenix Burro. The portions are huge and you can tell quality ingredients are used. They also have incredible tres leches from a local bakery that we get every time. It’s so good!
The staff are personable and friendly and the vibe is fun in there. We are definitely becoming regulars there and have been going since last summer!“

But luckily circle k is across the street for both ATM use and a cheaper way to add drinks to your order. I've been going here for almost 15yrs. “Dropped in and ordered 2 tacos. One Carne asada and one carnitas. Both were very tasty. Highly recommend both. Added a large drink and paid pennies over $10.00. Pretty inexpensive I thought. Came with chips and salsa, too. Again, both were fresh and also tasty. Fernando, the young man who helped me, was courteous, polite and helpful. So obvious the result of good parenting. Congrats to mom & dad!“

“One of my favorite Restaurants. Everything I had was amazing. Last time I came here with my boyfriend and he said their steak was one of the best Steaks he has had. I am impatiently waiting for the Chandler location to open since I'm in the East Valley. Can't wait! Oh and hoping they bring music to the Chandler location as well. “I started eating lunches at Don Jose in 1966 while I was pregnant with my daughter. I ate there often because I worked nearby. As the years went by we ate there so many times the “original” staff knew us by name. When they closed down we were saddened, but were so happy when they sold the business (and recipes) and reopened. My daughter and family and almost every close friend I have continue to enjoy the great food, the family atmosphere, friendly staff and owners. I highly recommend Don Jose’. Best find of 1966 through today!!“
