This week Tanveer at the Newport Village location helped is in a jam after a local mexican restaurant messed up our order and we needed lunch for almost 60 school teachers. She single handedly made 20 pizzas in almost 25 mins and ensured that the last minute disaster was averted. Kudos to her and the team at this location. They customize any pizza to make it much healthier, as needed. Kudos!!”

“Best Ling Cod and Chips i have had in a long time. Very crisp tempura like batter, not greasy. Large thick portions of very fresh Ling Cod that melted in your mouth. Fries were also very good. The only thing that would make this place better is being on the waters edge, not a parking lot. But it certainly won't stop me from going back. Two thumbs up!”

Very, very kind staff. It feels like a lovely family-run business, and you can tell they care. Sometimes there’s a bit of a language barrier and things can get slightly lost in translation, but it never takes away from how genuinely nice and welcoming they are. Very sweet wife working, we have become quite the acquaintances.

The space is quite small and can get pretty loud, with not much comfortable seating available. It’s definitely more of a quick stop than a place to sit and stay for a while.”

Beef wellington 9/10; my husband is obsessed with the idea of beef Wellington's after seeing it on a tv show. We tried it at the Gordon Ramsay and was very disappointed. This one did not disappoint. Husband loved it.

My favourite Detroit pizza spot in Vancouver closed down a few years ago and it’s been a struggle finding something equally good that’s not ridiculously expensive. This place accomplishes that, and it’s much closer to home.

Despite being super busy, I was greeted by a very friendly person when I called to place my order. They called me as soon as the pizza was ready and left it on the oven to keep it warm until I arrived, because I was running a few minutes late. The vibes were super nostalgic, which makes me want to return for the dine-in experience.

The only difficulty with ordering from here is finding a place to park, if you’re driving.”

“This is my second time coming to sweet talk, the previous time I had a mini egg donut, this time I had their egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. I must say they were both amazing, and the prices are very affordable! All of their products are homemade. The atmosphere was very bright, cozy and inviting. The bathrooms were very clean and nice smelling( including the hand soap). when I walked in, I was greeted by Kate who not only told me about all the products but we ended up having a full on conversation! It was very pleasant talking with her, Kate brang my food to me plus asked if I wanted anything else. This is the true meaning of customer service; these days it’s hard to find! “Was in the neighbourhood and wanted to try the restaurant for the first time. We had to wait for about 20 minutes for a table on a Friday evening. Service was good, restaurant was full. The tomato suppli were excellent: crunchy exterior, flavourful and soft interior. Sauce was a nice addition. Meatballs and pizza were good.”

“Just had the dark chocolate mouse with vanilla and salted caramel cake yesterday for the second time and it is the most memorable and the best we've ever had. There is nothing to compare this cake to. We've never had anything as elegant as this at any restaurant, store or hotel. This was superb!!!!!! Yummmmmy!!!! The Wife had the Noodle Salad Bowl with spicy peanut sauce, again, Great Presentation, very fresh, cruchy, perfect noodles with grilled chicken. Cathy had a Flight of mimosas, me... CranSoda. “Had a great experience at Little Beans Play Cafe. My kid had an amazing time and really enjoyed the food as well. The cappuccino was excellent, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The play area is very well thought out and feels safe and engaging for kids. There was also a music teacher there the day we visited, which added a really nice touch. Overall, it has a warm community feel and you can tell a lot of care has gone into the business. Highly recommend for parents looking for a relaxing place to bring their kids.”

“I’ve been going to JJ bean for a long time now. The food is delicious- there are many different options based on your dietary needs. The espresso is incredible- so flavourful! However, this review is for Jordan! She’s such a thoughtful manager- I called this morning with an issue of my pre bought espresso. She not only recommended I come back to the store to get what I needed. She then proceeded to find a solution with my espresso maker so I didn’t need to come down and make the switch. Jordan is incredibly knowledgeable, professional and kind. Whether you're there for the food or the coffee or the people- it’s a great atmosphere!”

Back to 5 stars. They were busy for Mother's day and lots of staff working; what we saw was organised chaos. We still think Hanayuki Sushi has to be [one of] the best sushi restaurants, including fine dine ones too! Great taste, done just right, and never dry. Some very creative special rolls too. And bonus: IF any leftover, it's still very good!
Recommend without any hesitation!

PREVIOUS (sometime 2025)
This time I've knocked off one star. We always enjoy Hanayuki Sushi for taste and value, which often don't go together. The star less is because, very surprisingly, they didn't have their act together for pickup orders. What was supposed to be 20 minutes became almost 45 minutes...and no acknowledgement or apology for the wait. Food still tasted good though. 👍”
