“Great service and food, plus a nice view of the harbour if you can get a spot in the sheltered outdoor patio. The steelhead and sablefish main dishes in particular are quite good. Service is very attentive and checks in regularly to see if you need anything or to refill water. There is also convenient and abundant parking in the adjacent Wharf street parking lot, just be sure to enter via the right lane as you can't turn left into the lot.“
“Excellent establishment and outstanding staff! The menu and fusion of the different dishes are absolutely amazing. Nestled in an eclectic venue in the heart of Victoria’s historic downtown particularly as the sun is setting, the Block Kitchen & Bar makes for a perfect date night.“
“Location is perfect, ambiance is fantastic. Food was absolute fire. I had the Louis Steelhead and holy cow - had to be easily the best salmon dish I've ever had. Portions were perfect. Servers appeared slightly unkempt - felt like they could've dressed nicer - but who am I to judge. Will go again.“
“Chanced upon this lovely late night gem on a cold cold night. Oden tang was great - wonderful broth and thick with fish cake and vegetables. Pork and kimchee stew could have used a bit more pork, but it was also good. Kimchee udon was a bit disappointing but still OK. The volcano chicken was a hit - more spicy than sweet, but really well balanced.Extra props for our service that night, our waitress was gracious and attentive. Will definitely be back to check out the rest of the menu.“
“A very cool place with speakeasy vibes. Decoration of the place very well, leaving the bar standing out in the center. The soft light invites you to have a good time and relax. The drinks are on another level, they have a wide variety of cocktails with or without alcohol.I recommend this place if you want to spend a relaxing afternoon and have a good conversation while enjoying some delicious drinks. The drinks are expensive but I think it's worth it.“
“Perfectly crafted cocktails and, equally as important to me, perfectly crafted menu designed to help you find exactly what you're looking for. Cozy space with low lighting and music kept at a low volume so we were able to enjoy our conversation. Check out the clear ice cube with the monogramed H.“
“First time eating here. Oysters were so good! Really liked our bulgogi pasta. Super rich and creamy.Saba was really good, nicely seasoned. Nigiri was also really nice, we tried a few different cuts of tuna.Had a great time! Will certainly come back.“
“Artemis' speciality may be whisky/whiskey but they also make and serve fantastic cocktails! Whiskey tasting is not intimidating at Artemis. The owner, Patel, will share his love for, and incredible knowledge of, whiskey with you and probably pour you a few tasters so you can decide what you like. There is a wide price range so something for every budget. The atmosphere is chic, cool, hip, and a great place to really savour and enjoy a fine drink or great cocktail. Highly recommend!“
“Takes longer than you would expect because the food is better than you would expect. We have had desert here twice because it was that good even with all the choices in Victoria. After a few minutes of waiting a gentleman waiting near us overheard us complaining and told us it was worth the wait and he was right!I can't wait to try a full dinner.“
“I have a suggestion for the restaurant: You could easily improve the atmosphere by covering the pantry. When people come to the restaurant, their first impression would be better if they didn’t see all the stuff you have in storage. My initial thought was that we had come to an undefined place. So, an easy fix could change the atmosphere.“
“what a fun place! I have been wanting to go here for 6 months. and finally did last night. it's such a cool vibe, great music, everyone had a good time, great staff who are attentive and friendly... really embraced the vibe of this place. and the drinks .... truly a gem in Victoria's downtown. they were tasty and strong. presented in a fun way and were very strong“
“Server was so friendly and sweet! I ordered the bulgogi dish during happy hour (select dishes are cheaper between 4-6pm). It came with some small side dishes and a portion of rice. The homemade kimchi was great, and the free ramen snack was yummy too ❤. If you have a hankering for korean street food i would definitely try this place out!Vegetarian options: Spotted at least one dish that was labeled as vegan! There were at least a couple of other vegetarian dishes tooWheelchair accessibility: Entryway at street level“
“A great gem of an eatery in Victoria. The pizzas were great, with excellent ingredients, and the pasta was amaze g! Food and beverage service by Katelyn was fast, efficient, and she was product knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. Our first ti.e there, hut definitely not our last. Highly recommended!“
“This is basically the only place my vegetarian mom and my omnivore self can agree on ordering from without spending half the night debating menu options. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, even if they're not veggie.Vegetarian options: I was hesitant to order from them because at first glance you don't know what kind of meat substitute it is (personally not a fan of Beyond's flavour), but the burger patties are made in-house and give you multiple options to choose from if you want to substitute. Also the TVP bacon is totally worth the upcharge.“
“The dine around caused some issues with our meal since I was the only one in a party of 6 that got the dine around.I am not sure what happened but I got my first course (appy) at the same time as everyone else got their meal. And then by the time I got my main course, everyone else was finished their meal.So that was a little annoying! However the manager heard my complaint and comp'd the meal. That was truly excellent customer service and I really appreciated that he recognized the awkwardness while I ate my meal and everyone else was done. Also, because of that we ordered an extra bottle of wine so I think it was a win for everyone. So great recovery and this saved the evening. Thanks Cactus Club manger!Oh, and the appy I got (Ravioli) was the most amazing combination of flavour. I could have had a whole meal of that.“
“Boomtown has been such a great addition to the local food scene. Love popping in for a margarita or beer, loaded tots, dip or a bowl. Great outside patio space and stellar happy hour. Andy and the team provide such fun, kind, efficient and stellar hospitality every time at this busy downtown spot. Exceptional experience all around!“
“I've been to Varsha twice now. Food is excellent and the service has been great. We had the Chefs special for 2 easily would have fed 3. 2nd Visit was for their happy hour. Nice selection of foods and a good cold beer. Happy hour at an Indian restaurant is genius! Very reasonable happy hour prices. Can't wait to go back. Next visit will be for burger night! Well specifically the lamb burger. The 4 stars for atmosphere is because it's cool in the restaurant in the winter. Varsha had space heaters and they help but if this would be an issue for you go to Varsha when the weather warms up.Parking: Down town Victoria you are walking and paying. Pay more park close and walk...pay less and walk further. Park for free and have a nice longer walk. Worth the walk anyway.“
“Happened upon this absolute gem of a place. Greeted by the owner at the door. Food was unreal and the drinks just as great. The tacos were incredible as was the chicken burger!! For the love of god try the blackberry sour!!Will be back regularly!“
“We had a surprise 50th Anniversary party there with 70+ people and everything was perfect. Staff was great and the food was delicious. I would recommend the Rack to all my friends and family. Jasmine and Cole have got this down pat. 5 out of 5“
“This place has the best breakfast ever because every dish you get there is so much food on the plate and it looks gorgeous it’s also not a traditional breakfast it’s a big meal and they put so much effort in making the food then there are also sport shows on the tv’s. Our servers were really nice. The atmosphere is beautiful there is a nice bar and every thing is clean I totally recommend this restaurant if you’re staying in the hotel. This place is awesome!!!Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options!Kid-friendliness: There are kid drinks and food“
“Typically my experience with restaurants next to an airport is that they take advantage of the captive audience and get by with subpar food combined with very high costs. But that is not the case at Flying Otter at all. I finally gave them a try because I didn’t have time to go anywhere else, and I found their prices are fair and their food is good. This was a pleasant surprise, and now I’m a repeat customer.Service is also good. Ambience is great, especially the view. Portions are generous. I regret not going to Flying Otter earlier.“
“I have been to many fine dining restaurants however the experience at Marilena Cafe with Josh was phenomenal and next to none. He had great hospitality, recommendations and attention to detail. We tried oysters, sushi, pasta, steel head, chicken and desserts. Couldn’t find a single dish that i didn’t like. They have great vegetarian options as well.We were so happy that we visited the next day as well and had the best time. Highly recommended.Vegetarian options: Great garden sushi and pasta“
