“Ahhhh my partner and I love to come here. We always get the poutine. I ordered the steak for the first time since I wanted to try something new on the menu and I was not disappointed. Oysters are yummy. Everything they make is just delicious. Brussel Sprouts are a go to. The cocktails are yummy even though I do wish they would bring back that ginger one they used to have. That was my favorite.Staff is always kind, atmosphere is comfortable and easy on the eyes, even the chattering of locals is nice and I've engaged in many fun conversations here. Quaint little spot to have dinner and drinks.“

“Very good Manhattan (don't know why that should be difficult). Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside bread came out immediately without asking. Clam chowder is my gauge for what to expect from a restaurant. This was one of the best; thick, clammy- baby clams in shell, alot. Another test is the fish and chips; great batter, good fish, alot. I will go back when I'm t own again just for those 2 entrees. The Beef Cheek? Ah..... no.“

“We had a great experience here on a Saturday night. It was busy, but we found a table for 2 quickly. Our waiter was really kind and knowledgeable, and brought us one of the best espresso martinis that we’ve ever had. One of the weekly specials was the Maid Marion which was also amazing. All of the staff members were bubbly and very helpful! The drinks are priced similarly to drinks a nice restaurant, but I think they are better than they would be at most restaurants :)Vegetarian options: We didn’t try any food, but the drinks are all vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: Almost all drinks are vegan I believe, and most drinks can be changed for dietary needs.Parking: Street parking varies based on time/day. Saturday night, it was hard to find parking but the parking is free.“

“Highly recommend for breakfast, brunch or lunch . The presentation of the food was superb and beautiful. The flavours of the food matched the presentation as well. In fact the “chefs breakfast” with 2 eggs, roasted tomato, extra thick bacon, special fingerling potatoes and much more, was so scrumptious I am still savouring that meal several days later . We also enjoyed the avocado smash. I thought their unique house made cardamom and brown sugar latte was amongst the best espresso beverages I have ever had and I look forward to experimenting with making my own syrup. They’ve done a great job of decorating the space and creating a bright welcoming space and I only wish I lived closer to this amazing cafe.“

“Saw they have breakfast on a Facebook post, so we decided to try. It's so cute! I love all the artistic touches everywhere and card games at the tables. Looks like a converted house, not a huge spot but nice and personal. We got mimosas and they were not small! The home fries were different from that I've gotten other places, more like scalloped potatoes. Good serving sizes. Definitely want to come back for the non-breakfast menu! I'm a sucker for biscuits and cornbread“

“We did a Monday date night and it was a great experience. The service was fantastic and they were very attentive to us. The cheese plate was delicious and plated gorgeously. We lucked out and got the french onion soup as our second course which was very well done. Our one disappointment was the stuffed portobello. Both the flavor and texture were off and it just felt a little mushy and not appetizing. The cocktails were fantastic and the pistachio ice cream paired with the espresso martini was absolutely decadent. I wish I could give 4.5 stars because my only complaint is the portabella dish, but otherwise it was a wonderful date night and I would highly recommend.“

“The interior is nice, many tables and seating at the bar. Some TVs with sports but never a raucous sports crowd. Amazing beer selection on tap including Russian River as well as a few mixed drinks on tap and bottles to make drinks (seldom happens). I have had all of the tacos and most of the sandwiches. They are all nicely put together with good ingredients, and the pricing is the norm of expensive for these days in a place such as Bellingham. Staff are an eclectic crowd and generally very friendly, welcoming and interesting if there is a minute to chat.“

“My recent visit to Carnal, located around the Central Business District in Bellingham, WA, left me thoroughly impressed. Intrigued by the rave reviews, we decided to explore this local gem, and we're glad we did!Carnal's menu, though simple, offers a delightful array of dishes that showcase creativity and a commitment to quality ingredients. Each plate was interesting, expertly crafted and beautifully presented. While we couldn't indulge in their colourful cocktails on this visit due to the long drive ahead, we are excited to return and try them out.We captured a few highlights from our meal:* Housemade Brioche Rolls: These were incredibly soft and buttery, a definite must-order.* Fried Chicken Wings: Roasted in duck fat, these were hands down the best wings I have ever had.* Grilled Pork Rib Cap: A unique and flavorful dish.* Slow-Cooked Beef Short Ribs: It is no surprise that nearly every table enjoyed these. They were cooked and seasoned to perfection, truly unique.Overall, Carnal is a must-visit for anyone in Bellingham looking for a memorable dining experience. “Dark, old-school speakeasy ambiance, equally traditional old school drinks, local taps and some creative surprises (ask about the frozè) await you at Southside, the slightly more fun/less spartan big brother to Jack's (in downtown B-ham). Unusual snacks and sharables round out their simple menu, including a selection of tinned fishes with crackers, spicy nuts, pickle plates, and warm Brie with apples and bread. Fun and yummy, but this is not a restaurant; it's a cocktail bar, so not really a dinner option for most tastes. They get extra points for having the now-rare and much maligned cocktail onion, and even a savory cocktail (The Businessman's Lunch) that features it as a garnish. I love a good Gibson, too, and these savory cocktails with the pickled onion pair well with the fish snacks on their menu. Nicely done!Prices are high, but the excellent, exacting cocktails and upbeat, attentive service makes it a worthy splurge for a little celebration. Recommended!“

“Great hidden wood-fired pizza place in the pocket of Fairhaven a few steps from Fairhaven Village Inn hotel and down the hill from the Village Bookstore.Cute sit down fast casual restaurant, relatively small place with around 15-20 tables with an additional semi covered seating area outside. If you have a party larger than 5, I suggest calling to see if there is an inside option available. We ordered the Matterhorn pizza 12” and full Kale Caesar Salad which was plenty of food for us (2 adults). The Matterhorn is a must get with cheesy béchamel, Gruyere, thin potatoes, caramelized onions, and slightly sausage on a smoky, crispy yet chewy crust. Definitely one of the best pizzas we’ve had ever and wish this place was closer to our home. The homemade lemonades are delicious, slightly more tart than sweet which we love and I personally liked the rosemary option to give the lemonade an herbal flare. The Kale Caesar has my favorite cheese, grana padano, an anchovy base Caesar dressing, and a couple of lemon slices. I’m a big fan of anchovy to give a little salty flavor to the dressing especially when paired with the acidity of the lemons. The salad is well balanced and light to complement the pizza. Our server was super sweet and excited that we tried her favorite menu items.Overall amazing dining experience. Next time we are in Fairhaven, we will definitely stop by!“

Sometimes I feel terrible after I drink both the gamma ray and Cassiopeia but that's definitely my fault for ordering the two most sugary drinks (they taste so good) but they have lots of other less sugary options and the space theme of the bar is so cool. Fries are great and service is good.I always leave some sort of constructive feedback on all reviews so here it is:The visibility of the tap list on the wall is extremely low. It is black lettering on a dark green wall in low lighting. This makes it difficult for those with vision impairments including the elderly and color blind individuals to read.To be more accessible and inclusive of these people groups, I would recommend painting the letters white and/or mounting a spotlight to increase visibility.“
