“The best spicy Chinese Food in OC/LA area hands down! They have been Michelin recommended for a reason. Their food has lots of depth of umami flavors with a good amount of spice with a refined touch. Their none spicy broths are especially good too. My faves are their dry pots, toothpick lambs, Qiao Jiao Beef. We also like their spicy ribs and boiled fish in chilli sauce, and Mao cai. Service is great too!”

“I ordered Pop’s Trio that comes with each skewer of chicken, beef, and beef koobideh (luleh); white rice and lettuce salad with lemon vinaigrette; savory hummus; cucumber, tomato salad; grilled pepper; and a pita bread. All the vegetables were fresh, and the meat was seasoned well. My favorite one was beef koobideh.

The mobile ordering process was straightforward and convenient, but when I went there for pick-up, it was a bit confusing about which counter to go to for pick-up because there was no one at the cashier counter and apparently the area around the right side of the counter next to refrigerator when entering the restaurant had more space for customers to order and wait. Also, I didn't find the staff welcoming or approachable, but the person who cooked and gave me my pickup order was very warm and hospitable.

“I’ve come here many times—it’s one of my favorite restaurants. The beef noodle soup is my go-to, but honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite because everything is delicious.

Highly recommend the dumplings—they’re handmade, and you can even buy them frozen at a great price. The server reminds me of my aunties, and the food tastes like grandma made it. It’s like a cozy Sunday at mom’s, and she just brought out the menudo.

I also love that the music stays true to the culture. They play Mandarin songs, not some watered-down English playlist. It makes the whole experience feel authentic—like I’ve been invited into someone’s home. I’m always happy here. 🥰”

“The pastrami dip at The Hat is legendary, and for good reason. The portions are massive, and the meat is juicy and tender. The fries are also ridiculously large—enough to share with two or three people. The place has a no-frills, diner-like feel. It’s indulgent comfort food at its best”

“This place is different than other Chinese food. The flavor is unique in its own. But don’t compare their spiciness with the likes of Chengdu or Hunan…it’s milder and delicate in fragrance. If you eat super spicy, don’t come here because you will not get the heat fix you want. If you want to experience different kind of taste and explore different kind of Chinese food this is the place. My kids even enjoyed it. The service from bottom up is awesome, patient and accommodating.”

“The Thursday - Sunday late evening/overnight staff is amazing! I've been coming here pretty much weekly since July 2021 and they have become like family, especially our regular server Lupe. The night manager is cool and when he gets on the stove his food is out of this world! They got a new cook a few months ago and they are great with consistently producing comfort, especially the fries (and I'm VERY picky about my fry consistency).”

“After doing some research, I found that by day, they primarily serve pho and Vietnamese food (Pho Ever) and during the evening on select nights, they serve specialized drinks and Vietnamese finger foods (N' Beyond). Put that together and you get Pho Ever N' Beyond! So cute.Anyway, this location is a bit obscure. It's located right off the 10 Freeway by Garfield and Hellman next to Circle K. There's a small parking lot as well as street parking. Hours are still changing, so definitely check Yelp or call the restaurant to see if they're open. As of now, they're open Friday - Sunday from 7:30 - 11:30 PM.The first time I came, my friend and I didn't really know what to expect. The pho restaurant was closing and the workers seemed to be in the process of cleaning up the restaurant. Luckily they have a very cute outdoor patio (perfect for a date!) with tons of flowers and greenery. We ordered at the cashier and our drinks and food were brought out to us.I asked for recommendations and went with the Mango Macchiato ($7). Kind of regretted the decision, only because I'm not a big smoothie fan and this drink was pretty much like a blended smoothie/shake. There was sea salt cream and mango jelly - really tasted premium with loads of mango flavor. I personally just thought it was a little sweet. My parents loved it though and devoured the drink once I brought it home.My friend ordered the Black Goji Berry Tea with Lychee ($7) - one of the most pretty drinks! I didn't try it, but she really enjoyed it. Said she could taste the lychee and the goji berry.We also ordered the banh mi brisket ($6) and chicken egg roll ($6). I was surprised that the banh mi was an actual whole sandwich. Packed with ingredients and I really enjoyed the flavor of the brisket. As for the egg roll, crispy and tasty - we ate everything.So I had to return to get a drink that I would enjoy. I ended up trying the Citrus Sunrise ($7) - this came with orange juice, jasmine osmanthus tea, honey citron jam, and some rosemary. I think there was also some jelly bits as well. Really refreshing and light, perfect for a hot day.P.L.O ($7) - peach, lemongrass, orange, lemonade, and jelly. My sister requested for the drink to be sweeter because she was worried that the lemongrass would overpower the taste, but surprisingly the lemongrass was really subtle. The drink was actually a bit on the fragrant/light side, almost as if it was missing a little acid or citrus to blend it all together. I liked the addition of the chia seeds, but I definitely preferred the Citrus Sunrise.And we also were able to try the Ube Frostie ($7). Seriously, the tea places that make ube blended drinks can't compare because the ube here tasted so fresh and decadent, along with the blended components of the drink. Felt almost like an elevated ube milkshake but the word milkshake doesn't do this drink justice at all. Not too sweet - my parents thought this was the best drink out of the three.They currently have a grand opening promotion if you're able to snag a card for BOGO 50% off; they also have a Yelp promotion of 20% off if you order a minimum of $15. The workers who helped me were all super nice and helpful.I definitely am going to return to try as many drinks as I can. Feel reluctant to share this spot, but at the same time, I really hope they do well. They really put a ton of effort into not just the taste, but also the presentation. Will be back!”

The food is really good, the place is clean, and the service is quick. Plus, it’s owned by a super nice family, which makes it even better. Pharos is a spot I’ll definitely be coming back to.”

I am not even lying over 100 times. Yes so we’re 100 times, and I am always treated with so much. Love 🍄 respect. They have a big big menu on seafood, and I believe they have some other options. Besides seafood, but if you’re looking for seafood, this is the place to be. I know they have specials on Taco, Tuesdays, and I usually go with. I believe number 11 or 13 which is a fish taco, shrimp, Taco, rise and beans and they add this spicy salsa which just makes the Tacos taste Steve better. I really love it. I recommended. I’ve never had anything else to be honest, because I just fell in love with this dish, so much, but I’m pretty sure that they’re dishes will satisfy your hunger as well.”

“My favorite daily go to HK cafe style chain here in Greater LA area, three locations, this Alhambra branch has a storage parking for free, nice quality as always to all locations, original HK style iced milk tea is original, juicy crunchy spicy chicken wings. “This isn't the Taiwanese 永和豆浆 Yong He Dou Jiang you might be expecting. This spot offers a broad menu of various Chinese cuisines. I just tried 豆皮 bean curd （cuisine from Hubei) for the first time. It was an interesting dish with a bean curd and egg mix topping over sticky rice, meat, tiny shrimp, and cilantro. I like the bean curd and egg mixture and want to try my hand at making it at home. 👍”

Started with fatty Tuna that melted in my mouth so fresh delicious then moved on to giant Clams (Mirugai) it was sweet & crunchy I could have gone for second order not many sushi restaurants have (Mirugai)The fatty belly Salmon was buttery & the spicy Tuna hand roll sashimi was perfect coz I’m a spicy food addict it was just heavenly for me. Yum yum 🤤 ended with Kumamoto Oyster 🦪 it was so sweet like cotton candy in your mouth made me wanting more which I did order more. “I am only rating the popcorn chicken Ramen! That is the item I've had 4 times. The restaurant is kinda hidden. If you ever go there, they are right in front of the alhambra carwash and its in a brick building.

The chicken is mild. Medium or hot spice level. Soup is super hot and tasty.

It is quite a treat. You should definitely try this item if its your 1st time. If you are mexican and like spicy like me get medium spice and xtra spice on the side in case you like it very spicy! Will definitely keep going.”

The nasi kuning komplit was beautifully presented, with fragrant turmeric rice and a mix of sides that balanced each other well, especially the egg and perkedel, which stood out.

The sambal mercon absolutely lives up to its name: pedas, rich, and addicting. It woke up the palate without overpowering anything and paired perfectly with the rice.

The satay kambing was tender and juicy, with a nice bit of char and a savory-sweet peanut sauce that brought everything together.

The ayam nasi goreng felt like comfort food at its best, well-seasoned chicken and fried rice that had that nostalgic, homestyle flavor.

“A good place for rice noodles, and I really loved their broth! My go to is their sliced beef rice noodles, portions were good too. The restaurant is also very clean. Not to mention, when you order takeout, they pack everything so nicely! Service was fast too!

Note: there is a small parking lot right next to the restaurant although all seem to be compact sized, street parking is plenty too if you have a larger car. And, they also do happy hour from 2-6pm for snacks and drinks.”

“I was a doorman to one of the Main Street bars, and customers would always tell me to go checkout Jay Dee's. So I finally did after 2 years. It's a cool place to hang out and have a drink. Drinks are reasonable, and it's a cash only bar. Customers are friendly too, & no haters. Has pool tables and darts. No, dj, but they have a jukebox playing cool music. Bartenders are friendly and treat everyone like family. I would go back 😊👍🍻🥂”

“The food was great. Came here for a weekday for lunch. They are not busy at all. They mainly sell claypot rice with 2 choices of meats. There is also an option to choose daily soup or drinks with cheaper prices that came with meals. I think soup around $5 plus and drink $3 plus. After finish, we get to try their Portuguese tarts, which are quite good. Overall, this restaurant is 1 woman show. She did the cashier, cooking and serving to you. I'm not sure about washing dishes. The only things that need improvements are their bowls, have some stains and no paper napkin on tables. Other than that, their dishes are quite good.”

“I ordered Pop’s Trio that comes with each skewer of chicken, beef, and beef koobideh (luleh); white rice and lettuce salad with lemon vinaigrette; savory hummus; cucumber, tomato salad; grilled pepper; and a pita bread. All the vegetables were fresh, and the meat was seasoned well. My favorite one was beef koobideh.

The mobile ordering process was straightforward and convenient, but when I went there for pick-up, it was a bit confusing about which counter to go to for pick-up because there was no one at the cashier counter and apparently the area around the right side of the counter next to refrigerator when entering the restaurant had more space for customers to order and wait. Also, I didn't find the staff welcoming or approachable, but the person who cooked and gave me my pickup order was very warm and hospitable.

“My go-to Thai restaurant in SGV! Food is authentic Thai, and great service (accommodated to different taste preferences-more sour, less spicy, etc). As a Thai, I can testify that their food has authentic flavors. We usually order Pad Seew & mango sticky rice. Their salty garlic fried shrimps are amazing also. It’s not a big place so it could get crowded during lunch and dinner times.”

“Auntie Qiu Kitchen’s Pork XLB definitely hit the spot for my partner and me when we had cravings for XLB in Alhambra, didn’t get to try their crab and pork XLB but we'll have to come back to try it out! I definitely recommend the fried pork chop sticky rice cake, it’s super crispy, savory and the glaze on the pounded crispy rice cake is a great compliment. The server was nice and attentive and the food came out extremely fast!”
