“I go here for the buffet on Fridays and Saturdays it's really super good and a really good deal. The only thing is I would just tell the owners not to play TV shows kind of in the background because when you're watching TV in the back room it ruins a little bit of the Ambiance of the restaurant but overall this is such good food and such a good deal. The food is absolutely outstanding and the waiters here the young guys are super super sweet and nice“
“I am a vegan on Covid lockdown and was craving some kofta for delivery, but all the local Indian restaurants make it with paneer. Finding this restaurant with a vegan menu that delivers was a treasure. Most Indian food is too spicy for me, but here I was able to choose the level of heat from mild, medium or spicy. Other Indian restaurants interpret “mild” as no seasoning at all but my Kofta, Desi Chole, Samosa and Baingan Bhuna were perfectly seasoned to my taste, a wonderful blend of dish individualized curry spices with just enough heat to slightly warm without harm. Also, it was not greasy at all, unlike the local places where the veggies are swimming in oil. I wish the rice dishes were made with brown basmati rice but plain brown rice can be ordered as a side, as it I didn’t have a lot of it cooked in the freezer already. The prices seem a little high for me, so I can’t afford to eat here very often, but will definitely come back as the perfect place to celebrate special occasions once I’m well.“
“My husband is from India, so we have eaten a lot of flavorful foods. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. We ordered the five taco plate and sides of corn, mom‘s beans, the vegetarian beans, potatoes with chorizo, corn, and rice. We also tried the coconut rose milk lime drink, and the cucumber salad . My husband, especially like the jeera chicken and corn. I loved the Carne Asada and goat tacos. The green sauce is fabulous. The fresh house made corn tortillas also really take the tacos to the next level. We really enjoyed our meal here. Kudos to the owners for taking such an interesting fusion risk and executing it well.“
“Edited for recent visit on 2/7/24:Finally got to try the malai pasta. It did not disappoint in flavor and was fantastic. I think adding some meatballs would further elevate this dish with some protein. Lamb sliders were also super tasty. The pizza was fine but was made better by dipping it in the malai pasta sauce. The staff were gracious and helpful. Significantly improved from my previous visit. Would come back.Malai pasta: 4.5/5Lamb sliders: 4.5Green tikka pizza: 3.5Old review:I’ll admit we didn’t have the pasta. Between the pizza, wings, and something else we had we left feeling pretty underwhelmed. We asked a couple next to us about their wings which were different than ours and their response was a similar “meh”.Indian food and Italian food should be full of flavors, this fusion of flavors seemed to be meant for the palate of someone who had never had any ethnic food. I appreciate the attempt, but I felt it was poorly executed. I might give them a try again as it has been awhile.“
“Nice place to get together with friends and or family and enjoy delicious Indian food. The service is good and the ambiance is cool. We went there on a Sunday for brunch and we had a really good time, there's a DJ on the premises to dance a little if you so desire... Enjoy it my dear “
“Wow! This is such an amazing and unique concept! I love the frankies selection from the menu. I tried Chicken Tikka Masala Frankie and Crispy Frisch Frankie and I’m satisfied! The frankies are made from naan which was freshly baked and the fish and chicken were nicely cooked and overall it was amazing! Reasonable pricing for the size of the food. Amazing service from the business and highly recommended to try if your looking for something new!“
“A sleeper hit in Pasadena. I’m probably in the minority here but my staple dish to get at a desi place is the bhindi masala. The execution at Akbar is impeccable. Fat, fresh okra sautéed with the sweetest caramelized onions topped with crunchy roasted cumin and a splash of what I’m guessing is amchurs bright acidity to cut through the meticulously charred edges. The paneer makhani and coco lamb were also enjoyed by my more mainstream butter chicken craving compatriots. The sides are also worth a mention - the raita is a perfect companion to the coco lamb, and the garlic naan is so long you could fit the Mahabharata on it compared to the standard soft taco sized offerings of other establishments. Oh did I mention free parking next door at the Green Tree motel? My only regret is waiting 2 years to come here after passing by it so many times.“
“What a lovely establishment! Delicious, spice-rich food with incredible service (shout out to Mr. Nasir for the warm welcome and wonderful customer service!). In all, we had their vegetable samosas, zafron pilau rice, peshwari naan, chicken butter makhani, fish coconut meen molee, saag paneer, and mango lassi for drinks. The samosas: crispy exterior, piping hot and potatoey interior with flavorful spice, coupled with that amazing date and tamarind chutney! No words. True to their name, they don't skimp out on the cardamom, which wonderfully perfumes the zafron rice. Although heads up, make sure to search through the rice and pick out the cardamom pods or you're going to be punched in the face with spice intensity (speaking from experience...). My friend and I love spicy, so we requested just shy of their spiciest level for all three of our main dishes. That peshwari naan really heightened the experience with the curries, with its sweet and nutty filling counterbalancing the spicy and rich curries. As for the curries, creamy and flavorful. The fish was perfectly tender, and man, there's just something about coconut milk that just hits DIFFERENT with curries (in layman's terms, goes very well together). That saag paneer though: there's a reason why Indian cuisine specializes in vegetarian food. That's all I have to say. And the perfect accompaniment to all this rich, spice flavor bombs is an incredibly refreshing, smooth mango lassi. To conclude: just go, you'll enjoy your time there. It's a good amount of food, my friend and I were stuffed and had leftovers to spare. In terms of pricing, I would say that it's on the lower-midrange. We're definitely going back and trying out more from their diverse menu.“
“This place was so good! I live really close to this place and I always walk past it. A couple of days ago I decided to go in and check it out, I was very surprised at how good it was, they give nice portions too ! I had the chicken tikka masala and curry chicken! Very flavorful! Also the lentils, I recommend this place ! The owner was nice too“
“This place is such a hole in a wall, and would definitely come back. I was here literally last week and been thinking about coming back all week this week! The place is like everyone said, half grocery (international market, mostly indian goods), and half restaurant. I mean hey some people can make a business model after it, full respect. The quality of their food doesn't decrease just because its half and half, in fact, this place have the best indian food I have had thus far! There is bollywood music video playing on the TV, you are served with kindness by the staff there, and also attentativeness. The staff are great at recommending things, but they are also great salesmen - as in they would point at things asking if you want to order - lol.I ordered the garlic cheese naan, which was delicious. The tikki masala lambm which melted in my mouth. The rice was okay, but I haven't been too enthused about rice as of late, so it might just be a personal preference thing.Their mango lassi is okay, but food was really great! The parking lot is huge, free parking and shared with the other stores in the plaza.I would come back! Bring your wallet as its not the cheapest, but also bring your appetite.“
“What can I say? I have NO WORRIES about eating here hehehhehehe…. A super chill dude whipping up some fire curry and it’s very affordable? Hell yeahThere’s an $18.99 double curry deal with rice and a drink, highly recommend the saag paneer and garlic naan.“
“Visiting from Vancouver and came across this sweet little restaurant. Food was absolutely amazing - fresh, flavourful, and delicious! My wife and I are quite picky about Indian food but this place hit the mark! We had to go back one more time before we left L.A. They were closing that day but the owner was super kind and let us in. Will definitely come back to this place the next time we visit L.A.“
“I enjoy Indian cuisine very much because of the species and fresh ingredients they use daily preparing so much flavors in the food. I enjoy the spinach and cheese it's amazing flavors like the spices and spinach and especially the cheese it add texture and flavor to dish. The other dish I really enjoy is chicken Tikka Masala one of my favorite so much flavor I enjoy it. The naan bread is very good I took a piece of the naan bread scoop in the chicken tikka Masala getting the fully flavor of naan bread and chicken Takla masala.“
“Oh my goodness, this is my first time trying chicken tikka masala and it's INCREDIBLE! This is the best Indian curry i've tasted so far! Even better than the restaurants I went to in my trip to UK. (They were probably not the best rated and I didn't check reviews, lmao.) I ordered through uber eats, but I will definitely come here next time. Wow!“
“Mahan is a very enjoyable Indian restaurant with a diverse menu that delivers some good flavors. There is a sense of no-nonsense value here. With a menu designed for both standard affair and vegetarian options, many kinds of tastes can be accommodated. Proteins do include the options for seafood, which many other Indian restaurants may not. One impressive dish is the chicken Tandori. Seasoned well with spices and lots of garlic, this became quite a highlight as it arrived at the table sizzling. Heat levels can also be adjusted for the shy, and dishes still taste well-spiced. The popular Tikka Masala is very excellently made. A rice pilaf is available also in contrast to the Jasmin rice. All the Naan is freshly made and delicious. The service is pleasant and you can see your food prepared as the kitchen has an open format for all to see.“
“I was searching for a decent Indian restaurant just to have Pav Bhaji without keeping high hopes, since I’ve been here for a couple of weeks now and had no expectations regarding the quality of Indian food from local restaurants. However, let me tell you, when I reached there, I saw an option for an Indian Thali with 2 curries priced at just $14. Since a lot of Indian people were already having their dinner, I thought to give it a try, and I almost felt like I was having homemade food after such a long period. Everything was simple yet finger-licking tasty. Now it’s my favorite place, and I plan to order only from here whenever I’m in town.Value for money and amazing taste, do give it a try.“
“Folks, if you know indian food you will understand the quality of food found at curry time. All dishes are top notch, best quality ingredients and cooking style from Northern India. You will not find better indian food in all of Southern California. I challenge any restaurant in Artesia "little india" to provide better tasting punjabi food and trust me I have tried them all. I am in no way associated with this restaurant, only a customer. We cater food for our home gatherings, and often pick up food for special occasions, I have taken many friends to curry time and everyone has been blown away how delicious curry time food is. 100% recommended!!!Parking: Always plenty of parking and in safe location.“
“Went to grab dinner here before a Laker game and absolutely loved it. We ordered the Mekhani chicken, basmati rice, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas and it was all delicious. We also had a mango lassi and masala tea, which were fantastic. The service was great, super kind man who chatted with us a bit. He kindly gave us some free dessert at the end, which was also delicious (I forgot what it was called but it was shredded carrot in a sweet milk with nuts. So good!). It is cash/Venmo only, so be prepared with either.“
“The staff was so accommodating and the biryana and masala were delicious, can't help but give this place 5 stars. As a vegetarian, my dish options were emboldened, rather than diminished. Would highly recommend if you're in the area and need to pick a spot to eat.“
“Breakfast and lunch are great at Tray. Everything on the menu is delicious!! Top notch staff as well. The Buttermilk Fried chicken is a Wednesday favorite. They also recently added an amazing Torta to the menu. This place is a DTLA hidden gem!“
“My first time eating at India’s Flavor was amazing! The food was delicious & memorable! I ordered Chicken Masala w/ naan bread and a side of rice. I added on a mango lassi to crunch my thirst. All of it was amazing! Can’t wait to go back & try new items as well as the ones I started with! Thank you!!Parking: A parking lot available to those who come to restaurant or plaza“
“It's been a month since I had the Chicken Tikka Poutine and I still think about it fondly. Not only was the food the best thing I had in my Los Angeles trip, it traveled WONDERFULLY, managing to still be in restaurant condition after about 30 minutes of stewing in a takeout container.Excellent ingredients, prep, and clear research done on the best to-go packaging necessary to make a star dish edible on receipt. Cannot recommend enough.“
“What a find! Not only a great place to buy spices and a great selection of Indian groceries, the food they serve is amazing. We had food from the buffet, some chaat, garlic naan and the Spring Dosi. Everything was delicious. I only wish we could have eaten more!!! Excellent food and Shashi was so helpful making suggestions and explaining a few of the items. Oh! I forgot to mention it is all vegitsrian & vegan.“
“I had the opportunity to dine here twice while on a official trip. First day I arrived in Pasadena, I found the restaurant via Google map as it was close to where I was staying. Went for dinner and had the non-veg thali and mango lassi and absolutely loved the food from the first till the last bite. I actually ended up overeating - the food was so good! On the last day of my trip, i.e., today, again went back there for lunch as this was my last opportunity to eat there! Had chicken curry, rice and naan, and the mango lassi! Again I overate because the chicken curry is so tasty! Their spice level is just right - I asked for mild! Not just the food, the people are also amazing. Each time had a good conversation with Raj! If I ever come back to Pasadena, I'll be sure to visit again!“
“We had a great meal here! We were the only table there for about half of our meal on a Friday night which was such a shame because the food and service were so good! We had the samosa chaat, followed by the chicken roll and chicken biriyani. The samosa chaat was good, lots of flavor and textures. The chicken roll was delicious, made even better because of the bread. And the biriyani was definitely one of the most flavorful we've had. The vegetables in the biriyani and roll were still crisp and not overcooked! The person who served us was friendly and checked in on us a few times. We'll have to come back and try some new things.“
“This evening I found the nearest Indian restaurant. My favorite thing to eat is the fermented scallion pancake. I really like it and can’t get enough of it every time. I also love the Indian samosas in picture 4, and I must order them every time. The roasted chicken in picture 3 is not only beautiful but also delicious. The skin is perfectly crispy, which is very good. He also had a very good attitude and introduced the characteristics of the dishes when he served them to us.“
“We tried their lunch buffet on a weekday, it’s $20 per person. They have plenty of dishes if you like chicken, but no much options for vegetarians.Wish they had vegetarian options. It would be great if they can add samosa & 1 paneer dish to the buffet (will come back and rate it 5 stars).“
“I decided to give this Indian restaurant a try. Food was served piping hot and did not have to wait long. Parking was a bit challenging but overall good place to have Indian cuisine. Helpful and friendly staff helped me pick out a few of their specialties. Stop by and check them out.“
