The quiche was very flavorful and moist and the crust was buttery and flaky. I ordered mine to go but I thoroughly enjoyed the decor while I waited for my order to be made. “This was a great meal to start the day. With lots of options from breakfast to dinner this is a perfect place for any time of the day. I had the souvlaki which came with soft pita and lots of tzatziki which I loved. The salad and fries were also a great side. My boyfriend had the home run and he said the sandwich was good and the hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was great as well! We chose a table outside and it was a little dirty but they quickly noticed and wiped it down for us. Parking can be found on the street.“

“This place is such a gem. I came here to work for a few hours and it was perfect. Cozy atmosphere, relatively quiet with nice background music, tasty and affordable food, nice service. I would highly recommend and return and even considering making it a good place to hang out for a bit before heading to the airport as I don’t live an hour away.Vegetarian options: Not a lot of vegetarian options but I think the atmosphere makes up for it. There are a few very limited selections like the berry oatmeal and the bagel. I believe there were a couple other things too.“

I was greeted right away, and my order was taken promptly. Both people who helped me were super nice and made sure my order was complete.We ordered:1. Corned beef hash and eggs - Tasty and couldn't get enough. The red peppers and seasoning went well with the crunchy hashbrowns and over easy egg2. Meatlovers breakfast sandwich - It's a good hearty sandwich with a lot of flavors. Something you can eat on the go, but why rush perfection?3. Chicken and waffles - The waffles were light and had crunchy edges. To me, it didn't need syrup or butter. I could easily polish it off in one sitting. I'm the type that doesn't eat chicken and waffles stacked together. I eat it separately. The chicken was crunchy and juicy. I loved that it came with gravy, I wish I had asked for more. It was a perfect combo.3. Brioche toast - Cinnamony and sweet. Not your regular french toast, but it was good. “I used to go to Peet's on Laurel St. all the time, but they have competition! Groovy Goose is a new coffee spot in San Carlos, and their lattes are wonderful! Really good. The staff is young and friendly too. They could use a few more tables, but I'm happy to go and pick up a latte any day. They could also expand their pastry selection, but - don't tell Peet's - as for coffee, probably the best in San Carlos! I recommend.“

“I was pretty impressed with my visit to Royal Donut Cafe. I didn't come for their donuts, but for their breakfast and they had some of the best country fried steak I've had a in a while. The interior is very dated so that might turn some people off, but they are expanding the restaurant and taking over the space next door. They said that there is a possibility that they open for dinner in the future too. Staff were very friendly as well. Parking in the area is certainly a pain in the area, but there are paid parking lots near by. Country Fried Steak & Eggs ($15.95) was what I ordered and it was massive. I was stuffed after eating it and the steak had the perfect breading. The sausage gravy was very tasty and the hash browns were also a large portion. The eggs they also cooked really well and they don't overcook them like I accidently do at home because I love runny eggs. It is definitely worth a visit here although I have no input on their donuts or pastries personally. Their breakfast is top tier though and you get large portions. Would recommend this breakfast spot to anyone in the area.“

“Wow! This sweet little pizza shop is making amazing pizzas! Owner Matt Burr greeted us himself. He's super friendly; we felt right at home. We had a cheese pizza with 4 toppings of our choice. Perfectly topped with a really flavorful tomato sauce base. The crust though? That was what clinched it-- chewy and charred to perfection. Matt's shop is clean and comfortable with plenty of seating. Loved the texture and flavor of both meats, and the variety and amount of vegetables I got in my bowl. Service is always quick and the ladies who work there are extremely nice. The mochi muffins are AMAZING. The chicken pesto is my favorite. You can't go wrong with any of the smoothies, boba, or coffee. Boba is a bit on the sweet side so I always ask for less sugar and they're able to accommodate me. “I found Cafe 2k the other day and I'm glad I did. Located at 2000 Alameda de las Pulgas in San Mateo in an office complex. They have plenty of great choices for breakfast and lunch. There was a line at lunch but it moved pretty fast. I recommend Cafe 2k.“

Great coffee, and loads of other selections like Beer, Wine It's on El Camino Real... and CalTrain has a station / parking lot behind the collection of stores. There is a menu but it seems more like they make what they want and sell what they have - feels very quaint and homemade Tonkatsu sandwich - big pork cutlet with a squishy bun and a generous portion of finely shredded cabbage. Yummy and crispy, pork was a touch dry. Matcha cornet was delicious, great flavor w the cream and nice soft cornet Melon pan - did not get much melon fragrance and felt a bit dry/stale, but great crisp sugar top. There's some chocolate inside the bread which I did not expect.“
