“Very popular and well loved fine dining but casual Little Italy institution. Beautiful expansive horseshoe bar. Of the four of us, I was the only critic of the food. The ingredients are top-notch, but my salad was too acidic. My braised beef cheeks, a generous portion, were oddly crisped but tender on the inside. The broth was, surprise, acidic. Previously, I had the Branzino wrapped in spec (bacon), which was too salty in that it obliterated the taste of the branzino. Then again, everyone else enjoyed their meals.“
“My friend and I went here yesterday for their new brunch service and it was really great! The food was excellent (we had the fruit w/ mascarpone and I had the breakfast sandwich w/ potatoes) and the flavors were perfect. The decor was really cool and everyone that worked there was really lovely. I had no idea what to expect since we kind of found this place by chance, but I highly recommend it. It is in a bit of a random location, but don't be dissuaded by that. As an extra bonus, they have those amazing Japanese toilets in the bathroom, so don't skip that haha.“

No frills, no upscale pretentious vibes, just good ol’ delicious food served quickly. Looks like it was ran by 2 guys, one cooking and one taking orders. It’s a smaller joint that has capacity for maybe up to 18 diners. Intimate setting, simple set up but ridiculously delicious and genuine food. Their lentil soup is something I dream about occasionally. I ordered the chicken tawook bowl since I wasn’t that hungry and it HIT THE SPOT. Hummus was spot on, too. I’m excited for when I go downtown again so I can indulge and try something else on the menu. Everything I got I thoroughly enjoyed. Even the tea! I went there for a business meeting, and everyone came away happy with their food. we shared the jalapeño and cilantro hummus and the tzatziki sauce with pita bread as an appetizer. “Ordered a shawarma, one of the most delicious one i have had in San Diego. They make the Sajj bread in store which makes all the difference. First bite into Shawarama and you notice it. Also the Shawarama is quite large and fulfilling. I also tried their zaatar Mana'ish, would recommend getting some yogurt or hummus with it. They have a lot of options on the menu which can be overwhelming at first but read through the description and try a dish.“

“4.5 stars. This is a great fusion of Mediterranean and Mexican cuisine. On a Sat afternoon, it wasn't too busy but if the parking lot in front of it is packed, parking could be a problem.I got 3 Shack tacos with gyro, chicken shawarma and the falafel, the shawarma wrap with their spiciest sauces, and a bunch of toppings including the jalapenos, and the side of falafel.The tacos were the best of them all - falafel then gyro then chicken shawarma. The gyro was a little too salty for my liking but the chicken shawarma didn't have enough spice on it, so that's why I preferred the gyro to the shawarma. The falafel was easily the best of them all as the falafel was soft and crunchy and actually complimented the tabouli salad, feta and the tzatziki sauce. The tacos are corn tortillas but they feel a little more like rotis.The wrap was very filling. It wasn't as spicy as I would've liked despite choosing the spiciest sauces and the jalapenos. The side of falafel was very tasty. The falafel wasn't too dry but not too oily.I had initially decided to give them 5 stars. However, I had to downgrade to 4.5 stars because the tortilla and the wrap got really soggy very quickly. So, they fell apart more quickly than I would've liked. The salty gyro and not so spicy chicken shawarma were my other reasons.I loved my whole experience and I will definitely be back to eat more of your shack tacos for sure!“

I usually drive to San Diego to eat mediterranean food because there isn't many options in CV. But now that I found this place, it will definitely be my go to. The meat is flavorful, the pita bread is fluffy, and the tabouli tastes fresh! There's not a long wait time and the service is nice. My only complaint is that I wish they gave more tabouli. Nonetheless, this place is delicious and I recommend getting their garlic sauce too to top off your meal. I will for sure be going more often and trying more things on the menu!“

“This is my go-to place to bring my large Book Club.The patio saved us during the pandemic and continues to do so... it is large, covered and has heaters.The food is consistently ok/good with choices for every budget and many dietary options. Not fabulous, but for the price and convenience of counter/fast service, its a solid option. Plus, their loyalty app offers good deals. Wish they'd bring back shrimp though!I wish they had a warm beverage option... coffee, tea, etc. All the drinks are cold.The service and convenience of the best part. Ordering ahead online or in the app means almost no waiting, but even ordering at the counter is pretty swift. The staff is always helpful, friendly and goes out of their way for us. They're really nice to check on us throughout the evening, fix any (rare) issues, let us linger a while and clean up/rearrange tables etc after we leave.The location is good, the restrooms and restaurant always clean and there is always a lot of easy, free parking.Only thing is, sometimes the music is very loud and depending on the staff member they might not always turn it down for you.Big shout out to many of the staff members, namely Ytzul.Parking: Lots of free, close parking in the attached lot. “I have been wanting to go here for years and finally had a chance to go with my wife for a Friday lunch. Parking can be a little tough, but there is free street parking and pay lots nearby. The restaurant atmosphere is super cool inside and the wait staff was incredibly friendly. The food was delicious. We got an appetizer platter and loved it. We ate the entire appetizer platter, including extra Pita bread, and almost ruined our appetites before our entrées arrived. The main meals were delicious. I also got the vegetarian platter with 4 different items and different rices.I will definitely go again (next time not on a Friday during Lent so that I can try some of the entrées with meat options). “Beautiful location. Very spacious. Outdoor dining on a chilly March evening was just fine due to the heat lamps, which lent to the ambiance. The kampachi appetizer was delicious. Dirty martini and old fashioned were expertly made. Salmon has a nice crispy skin and beurre blanc sauce was decadent. Recommend for families, couples, friends, etc - everyone is made welcome.
