“Other than the weird early 2000s pop music, it was a very nice experience. The meat and veggies were fresh and delicious. The broths were flavorful and well spiced. Unfortunately, I finished everything so fast that I didn't have a chance to take a photo of the well prepared food. Perfect place to take your friends, loved ones, and significant other! Very very nice Japanese hot pot!Vegetarian options: Made to order“
“We often go pair Tabu Shabu with a wine tasting at Hi-Times, especially because we have someone with Celiac disease in our party and they are very aware of gluten allergies and are able to accomodate accordingly. The service is wonderful; the staff and always friendly and attentive.I also appreciate the cleanliness of their bathroom! The wait isn't too bad if you go at the right times. The only wish I have would be that the meat portions be a bit bigger.“
“Had dinner last night and have to say… the meal was very good, everything that we expected as a first time diner was met. Living in Napa ( and dining in San Francisco) and experiencing quality food and service our expectations are high and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. the service was excellent as well, different staff continuously checked on us, everyone was extremely pleasant….and the place was completely filled ( read reviews re the noise, loud but you could certainly carry on a conversation)Overall I’m giving this place 2 ? up…..PS the bottle of sake was excellent also….“
“Incredibly clean, with incredibly friendly & attentive staff! Brought my parents here for their first hot pot experience (it was my first time at Haidilao, too). We were greeted by Sharon, who, upon learning it was our first time, took a minute to explain how everything worked. She passed the word onto our server Earl, who turned out to be AWESOME. He explained everything in detail, guided us through the process, and mixed us a couple of complimentary sauces (!). Throughout the meal he was always nearby when we needed him, even though he was juggling us with other tables (which he also handled brilliantly! Could hear him making legit conversation with other patrons). The sauce bar included desserts & appetizers, and he made suggestions for which ones to try (they were all good)! He and Sharon were both very hands-on and helpful as we were packing up our broths to take home. They both took a lot of initiative and were genuinely “present” with us.The whole restaurant was also extremely clean & well-organized — there was obviously a lot of attention paid to both food safety and customer experience. Food was incredible of course. Very very impressed, and will be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Dietary restrictions: The sauce bar includes labels & recipes for vegetarian and gluten-free sauces/ingredients, as well as labels for major 8 allergens (including soy). As I left, I spotted an area with candies (for children? while waiting for a table? I only glimpsed it) and each was clearly labeled with “CONTAINS WHEAT,” etc. If you have allergies and tell a staff member, I have no doubt that they would make recommendations and let you know what is available.“
“The space is spacious and airy. On weekends, if you go early, it will help users. I really like stir-fried snails with coconut and fried rice with shrimp and crab. The staff is very cute and enthusiastic, I will come back. Reasonable price with the great quality.“
“OMG! the best of the best. The flavors in the Broth is delicious. Tonkotsu is my favorite. Service can improve a bit, but overall can't expect the best because they are busy- and so worth it. I like the ambiance, chill and they have a good peach beer, ha!“
“This place is always crowded!! Came here recently Sunday afternoon, right when the bar opened at 4pm so we got a table in the bar area to eat/drink and watch the football games. There’s always a wait for a table at the restaurant, so plan accordingly, especially if you go for dinner. They have the big beer towers if your group wants to share. Full bar with lots of alcohol/cocktail options. Great food dishes were: Ốc Hến Bánh Đa (baby clams and escargot with rice crackers), Ốc Len Xào Dừa (coconut escargot), Ốc Saté Bơ (saté garlic butter escargot) and Cơm Chiên Crawfish X.O. (crawfish fried rice)—all delicious and well flavored!! And at the end, they give each person a small complimentary bowl of Chè Bắp (Vietnamese sweet corn dessert) which is good!“
“Kaizen Shabu is honestly such a vibe. First off, the food is AMAZING. The Shabu broth is so flavorful ? I’ve been craving this place so much it’s ridiculous. The servers are also all so friendly and knowledgeable about all the different food / drink choices. The vibe is always really fun as well. I highly recommend this spot!“
“Nice meat quality. Thin cuts. Love their Prime grade beef. Self serve vegetable/seafood island lots of choices. Most important to mention is their meat quality does not downgraded lower after my 2nd or more order. Highly recommend this Shabu-shabu restaurant. Leaving with a very full and satisfied experience.“
“The music and environment was chill. My group went on a Wednesday evening so it was not slammed. They have an all you can eat option but my girlfriend and I filled up on the shared ribeye option with spicy miso tonkatsu. It's a pricier option which adds up to about 50 per person including the sake. Our server was Gabby and she was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu!“
“Malubianbian is serving up some flavorful, spicy, and affordable hot pot! You can make your own dipping sauce at their DIY sauce bar for your hotpot, and even snack on a few items they have out like their freshly made shrimp chips and sesame balls! They have a wide range of seafood, veggie, and meat options including their skewers and side dishes. The soup packs so much flavor and I loved their spicy mala broth. My favorite items were their beef, pork ribs, fish balls, and lamb! It's the perfect place to enjoy a hot, savory meal! They have two locations, one in Tustin and one in Rowland Hills. I typically don't drive to these areas but definitely will go for some delicious Asian food! They have all day happy hour on the weekdays with $1 soup bases and $1 beers, and their skewers cost around $3-10 which is such a good deal! It's the perfect place to hang out with your friends and to enjoy hot pot in this cold weather!“
“this is a solid all you can eat shabu spot!great food choices, and it all looked very fresh. they were great about constantly checking to see if you need anymore broth or meat. it has some of the best broths we've ever had at a Shabu place. Definitely worth trying! it can get busy so join the Yelp waitlist if you can.“
“Yoooo this place is the best!!!! they have 2 Locations but this one!!!! Wow. Just amazing!! The Owner is the absolute best! She’s lively and lovely and makes sure you’re having the best experience possible!! I’m making this my new go to sushi spot!! If your searching for a new restaurant definitely try this place asap!“
“Everything from the entrance to seating, vibe /music & of course food. Everyone has been so friendly & attentive & the food is fresh, savory & delicious. Feels like we're visiting friends. We'll definitely be coming by more.“
“The taste is good, the environment is good, and the atmosphere of eating Sichuan hot pot is great! The short crispy pork is so well done? The duck blood is very tender, and the small sesame balls and ice powder are also really delicious. The only regret is that the sweet potato noodles are sold out and I didn’t order them. I will come again next time ??“
“I had Tabu Shabu saved for a long time because I wanted to try it and I'm so glad I did. My husband and I came here on a Friday night and our server Kathy's customer service was just amazing. She was very attentive and super friendly. The food was so good!! My husband isn't really a big fan of shabu but he loved this place and thought it was so good! Our first time here was 10/10. The food, the service, and the vibes were just on point. We love the owner Dana! Kathy, Everest, Ray and all of the other people that work there were so nice! We will definitely be back!“
“Ate here 2x before writing this review. This is a skewer hot pot place and there is definitely a learning curve the first time. There were so many selections on skewers that it was difficult to choose. The fridge had several levels that I didn't get a chance to notice them all until my 2nd time around. It's definitely a scavenger hunt each visit. There are some rare finds here that are generally not offered at other shabu places. Like duck blood, duck feet, bamboo fungus (pith), giant prawns, crab meat, etc. Nice To Meet You have it all in one easy to access fridge. We noticed more selections on weekends than weekdays, especially the duck blood. It really fresh and runs out fast. For the non-spicy people, there are definitely choices here. The broth comes with 2 choices (or you can go with one, same price) and we loved the beef and tomato broth, both are non-spicy. For meat choices we order off the menu AND we get skewered meat. The kids prefer Flat Iron Steak. Ribeye is pretty good too.Eating with skewers is fun. Definitely an experience. The Brown Sugar Sticky Rice Cake also hits the spot for sweet tooth lovers. Reminds me of the sticky rice cake at Night Markets. The seats are spacious and can accommodate large parties. If everyone in your party can eat spicy, then this is definitely a worthy spot to visit. But this is an awesome place for non-spicy people too.See my pictures for more tips.“
“Great food. Excellent staff! We were traveling in the area and stopped in. Never heard of Shabu, but the staff was so kind to explain the whole process. Lots of different options. Great for families with different tastes. Definitely recommend!“
“Food is great but service reeeeeally depends on which server you get! Some are very patient and helpful, especially if you’re new, others are extreeeemely impatient, get mad at you, yell at you, the one girl today even rolled her eyes at me and pointed at the line behind me while continuously rolling her eyes at me and sighing. So… good luck to you ?“
“First Timer and we enjoyed it very much. We live in the city but always drove by. We were glad we tried Slice. Very clean granite stove tables, waiter was informative, helpful and great service. Dined in and finished entrees without leaving a crumb. Soup and Veggies are all you can eat. Amount of meat is first ordered. No sticky tables and presentation done well and adds to enjoyment.“
“Husband and I ordered the 9 section spicy hot pot in medium(?), it was quite spicy but extremely flavorful. Fresh beef, angus prime beef, hot pot noodles, the fish cakes with roe on it with "fortune" in Chinese on it, vermicelli noodles-- they were all good to eat in the deliciously spicy hot pot. We over-ordered and the wait staff gave us to-go containers. I am eating the leftover as I type in this review a day later. My stomach suffered a little I won't lie, but I can't wait to go back. Love it.The sauce/snack station is loaded. If they had fresh fruits that would be awesome. No other complaints.“
“Yummy food! The rice is perfect. I usually get grilled pork (not the pork chop) and shredded pork or a fried egg. The service is quick and the owner is very friendly. There are several TV's and music for entertainment. The bathroom is clean.“
“Really good all you can eat shabu shabu for $28.95. What a deal. They have fresh food, both seafood and beef plus lots of veggies. Their broth is one of the best I've had. We ate so much. Their staff is friendly and super attentive. 5/5“
“It's a small quick hot pot place. We've been here a few times. Selections is a bit small but it has the essentials. It's like Mongolian bbq style where you grab a bowl, put what you want in it, and they weigh it for the price. It's easy to add too much. So less is more. The tomato soup toy is a bit too salty for my taste. So I usually get the fish based soup. It's a nice hot pot place if you're in the area.“
“Comfort food!! Delicious variety of soups and garlic noodles! The garlic noodles were packed with flavor and the green sauce that came with it was AMAZING! I like my soup hot so it was nice to have it boiling and you’re able to request it to turn off at anytime. I also love the dipping sauces. Service was AMAZING! Everyone was so friendly and we even got some milk tea at the end of our meal??“
“The snack and sauce bar is self serve, the food is ordered through a web app and contact with staff is minimal. You can expect good quality and good sized portions for the price. However, it would not be the cheapest hot pot place in Irvine, do expect a two person meal to run over 60 or 70. Their broth choices are exception and the dish variety is wide. Definitely a must try.“
“Shabu Shabu is our special date night meal. We like to seak it out wherever we travel to. We really enjoyed our meal here, portions (ordered large meat) were good and ingredients were fresh. This is the first Shabu Shabu I have visited that did not have bok choy and that's my favorite veggie I was disappointed. But they have all the other ingredients, excellent broths and variety of sauces, even egg for dipping. We ate here on a busy Saturday night, it felt like a cafeteria with how the business is run, very efficient but no ambiance for the cost of the meal.“
