“Came here for shabu shabu recently. The presentation is on point, I like the three-tier serving tray! It's as if you're having afternoon tea; just replace the pastries and scones with protein and seafood! Each table had built-in induction cooktops to keep the pot boiling. If you prefer outdoor dining and you brought your furry companion, there's additional seating in the dog-friendly patio. They don't force everyone to get their own personal hot pot, but if you want a broth refill there is an additional charge if you choose to share. Broths we tried - White is a short rib and oxtail base. Fairly basic and clean tasting by itself. Red is similar but with chili paste added. It had a little more depth to it and the spice level was tolerable. Their namesake dPot broth (kelp, pollack, anchovy, vegetables) is definitely plain, but not a dealbreaker once you add things to the pot since that adds to the flavor. Protein - American Style Wagyu Beef Galbi Eye was thin slices of very high fat, thoroughly marbled meat. Takes just a couple of seconds swishing it in the broth for it to cook, with the far rendering very quickly. For something that's more lean, choose the Prime Chuck Top Blade. Quality for both was great. The Seafood option (combination of scallops, shrimp, crab, mussels, calamari) was fresh. We were also given fish cake balls, dumplings, and cubes of tofu to boil. Vegetables - a very large serving of healthy things. Napa cabbage, kale, bok choy, corn, onions, kabocha, broccoli, and like three types of mushrooms from what I remember. Sauces - Ponzu was a bit sour. Goma was more pleasant. Udon (thick wheat flour noodles), Kalguksu (hand cut noodles) and Potato Sujebi (hand-pulled dough) were all tasty additions, it just comes down to personal preference. If you're not getting hot pot, they have braised short ribs, army stew, steamed buns, dumplings, and seiro-mushi (Japanese method of steaming meat and vegetables in a wooden box). Prices are just okay. A lot of the things that are complementary at shabu shabu places elsewhere are extra charges here, or nonexistent. And I'd rather go somewhere that has more variety and flexibility in choosing specific ingredients. But I liked it and I wouldn't be opposed to another visit.“

This restaurant is similar in vibe and food style to Dine Korean Restaurant on Malvern if anyone is familiar.Food:Authentic Korean food with a variety of healthy banchan. Great value for the money. We got the bossam + fresh oyster and braised fish (dunno the English translation - silver cod?). These two dishes easily filled a family of 4 with some leftovers.Service:Service is relatively slow and they have a hard time turning over tables since there are only 2-3 waitresses and one busser. Lots of golf groups that come in during evening and night which causes a holdup.Ambiance:Loud and bustling, family style. Come with friends.“

There are ample parking places, and the place is packed on weekends.Their lunch menu A is only $16.99, which is insanely low today with all the inflation, I honestly don't know how they can make money.You have to order the soup base and meat from the servers, rest are all self-serving. There is a snack bar with sesame balls, fries and spring rolls for the kids, and there are a line of freezers with literally everything, from veggies to seafood to tripe.Food is fresh given they move through everything pretty fast, for the price there is really nothing to complain.“

“Had a good time hanging out with my friends. Self-service picking ingredients: vegetables, meat, fish balls, shrimps, noodles, tofu, etc. You pay per pound. I feel good with a lot of varieties. After picking ingredients, you can choose soup from four different soup bases. They will cook and serve you in a big bowl. I love marinated chicken gizzards. I tried mild spicy original bone soup. Would love to try the same soup with medium spiciness and also tom yum soup.“

Service is quick and friendly and never seems like they are limiting you in any way. I actually prefer this over boiling point because of the less wait and the food is just as good, if not better.“

“Shabuya is the largest all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu restaurant I know. It offers unlimited supplies of meat, vegetables, seafood, and various options of ingredients for shabu-shabu. After choosing the soup I want, I simply need to select the type of meat and request it from the server. However, during busy times, it's advisable to order in advance to avoid waiting for the server for too long, as it can be frustrating.They provide various vegetables, seafood, dumplings, tofu, noodles, and more, so I can take as much as I want and make my own sauce. Once I've chosen my soup and added various seafood and vegetables to enhance the flavor, I start my meal. Personally, I enjoy adding seafood to the broth for flavor and dipping it in hot sauce, then adding meat first and enjoying it with vegetables alternately.I recommend finishing about 90% of the meal and then enjoying the remaining 10% with udon, ramen, dumpling soup, or other desired choices. Among them, I highly recommend adding eggs and rice to make egg porridge, which is the best way to conclude the meal.The egg porridge, made by boiling the remaining vegetables and meat, always tastes exquisite. It's Chongqing style, so spicy means spicy, and there are quite a few Sichuan peppercorns floating around--some don't like that, but I love it and that's exactly what I was looking for. They do have split pots so that you can get half spicy half not if you have a group with mixed preferences. Service was really good, and the sauce bar was legit, complete with all the most important elements in quantity for mixing up a dipping sauce just how you like it. It also had a good selection of other snacks, mostly carbs, but also a really nice pickled radish. Could be improved with a little fruit, like some sliced cantaloupe or something, but I'm not complaining.“

My favorite meats and veggies are the angus beef, lamb, napa cabbage, tong ha, fried tofu skin, pumpkin, mushrooms, okra and soft tofu.The world spicy world glass noodles were super bomb, but also super spicy and numbing. I could only have a few bites, but the texture was excellent and flavor was on point.Highly recommend going back to the dessert bar afterwards and getting a bowl of brown sugar jelly dessert to cool down.“
“If you are into spicy Chinese food, then you will love this place. This eatery serves Chengdu style food (a sub-part of Szechuan cuisine). It had the same 麻辣 taste for all of their dishes （literal translation: numb & hot pepper spicy) as in a typical Szechuan dish. Numbing effects came from black & white peppercorns, which you can taste quite distinctively. Thhis style of food is known as Maocai 冒菜(translates from local dialect: heat the food); , which derived from the hot spicy soup with all kinds of herbs pour over the ingredients creating steam (as in 冒烟as in “smoking”）just before serving to the patrons. You can choose from the menu or pick your own from the buffet bar and you will pay based on the weight of your selections. Once weighted, the kitchen will cook your concoction for you based on your selection of the sauce. All sauces were spicy and numbing. You can also choose lite spiciness, mid spiciness or extreme spiciness. This is the first time I’d tried this and I actually enjoyed the numbing and hot peppers flavor very much. I pride myself on eating spicy food, but I opted for lite spiciness here and it was plenty spicy for me. The prices were reasonable and the quantity was fulfilling for the items on the menu. You can also choose from glass noodle, rice noodle or instant noodle for your carb. I had the rice noodle and it was very well made. My wife selected the least spiciest sauce, the beef bone soup, with beef and it was just a bit spicy, but plenty of numbness.“

Beef belly was a bit bland, the lamb was mostly seasoning but delicious, and the pork intestine was great. - very quiet during lunch hour in the spacious restaurant. The two chairs are the exact size of the table so it's fairly difficult to push in and out of your seat if you're shifted either direction. - server definitely felt like she didn't want to be there. The table next to us asked for their candles to be lit so the food stayed warmer and she gave a heavy sigh before walking away to get the lighter. When she delivered the skewers, she threw it on the plate without a word then walked away immediately.Value for - yummy food in general, service was quick but cold, and reasonable pricing.“
“The best service I've seen at a Shabu place!I'm allergic to peanuts and eggs, which most Shabu places I've found have not been very accommodating. But Miss Shabu has the most friendly staff as they wrote on the menu notes on what foods I'm allergic to and which ones are good. They were very efficient with setting up our table of 16 and were flexible when we had less people than expected. The food was really good for a decent price. For dinner and drinks and tea, we spent about $50 and got 2 different soup bases, had many different types of sides, and plates on top of plates of meat. Definitely recommend this Shabu place if you were looking for one in Buena Park.“
