Herbie's Cuisine Filipino • $
468 E Arrow Hwy, Covina

“Been here a couple of times now. I also ordered a catering order for 50 people and got it delivered to Yorba Linda with a very reasonable delivery fee! The food was great and heard a lot of good comments from the guest. The bangs sisig is definitely a winner because there was nothing left! So is the Kaldereta! Overall the food was delicious and will definitely order again and would recommend this place to all my friends and family.“

“Arts kitchen brings me back to the motherland! I'm married to white chick who is smoking hot but doesn't cook authentic Filipino food because they don't work with exact measurements when it comes to cooking. Just add a little of this and a little of that to taste. Doesn't work and it comes out bland. Enter Arts Kitchen...... the food is to die for. You gotta go! The sisig was tasty! The bangus banging and the garlic fried rice and chicken skewers were eaten by my picky daughter who says she doesn't eat "chicken". They were super friendly and very accommodating.“

“I go to a lot of Filipino spots and this hands down is one of the best. You must try their pork barbecue skewers! Rich in flavor and juicy! I wish I could eat here everyday, but I would get too fat. Anyway their West Covina location takes about 40 mins on busy days to finish the order, it took about 15-20. It's always worth the wait, just plan ahead of time. Great Filipino hospitality.“

Tastee Bakeshop of West Covina Bakery • $
1512 E Amar Rd, West Covina - 4.31 miles

“I love this bakery's pandesal !!! It reminds me of the ones baked in the Philippines. So big and fluffy!!! It comes in a bag of 10. It's always hot and it smells so good that usually we have to eat a few while we're walking around the Island Pacific grocery where it's located. I come here once a week for my pandesal-fix. The best pandesal around! So if you're in the West Covina area, get your hot pandesal from Tastee. It's inside the Island Pacific Supermarket located on the corner of Azusa/Amar. They also have other goodies in the display cases but I only ever have my eyes on the pandesal .“

Miki House Filipino • $$
2423 S Azusa Ave, West Covina - 4.2 miles

“Miki House is like walking into OLD MANILA's Ongpin Binondo district. The owners and servers exhibit the traditional honored hospitality of the hosts, and the food selections are heirloom good quality. This has been our 2nd visit, and the experience did not fail us. We slimmed down our choices to avoid leftovers (yet we still did, giving you the hint of big portions per order). We LOVE their LOMI, FRIED PORKCHOPS, LUMPIA SHANGHAI, and the SIOMAI. Next visit, I am targeting their TRADITIONAL KIKIAM and old-fashioned BEEF MAMI.Parking: Inside a shopping center, behind CVS Pharmacy. Lots of available parking spaces. Limited tables inside the restaurant.“

“This is inside Glendora Public Market. They offer all sorts of different food but today we went to go try the Lumpia Mania. We got the Lumpia Salad with Beef, the Sunstar Tocino, and the 6 piece Lumpia. Everything was divine, the lumpia salad is super fresh and contained a great amount of beef. The lumpia was fantastic and had a generous amount of stuffing. The sunstar tocino is almost made to perfection, the best tocino we have ever tried. The service was fast and efficient.“

“First time experiencing Filipino food without my Filipino friends. A lot of Filipino people are here for lunch on the weekends then it's authentic. The price is reasonable for me because it's not a fast food chain. I believe they need one more waitress on the weekend, and serve the food a little bit faster. And 15% guarantee tips pay if you pay in a card. (For me it's standard so it's ok) The food is very delicious especially the BBQ skewers. (juicy and al dente) Guisado is very good. (Recommend eat with hot sauce) Garlic rice is good. Sago Gulaman is worth a try. A lot of people get the butterfly shrimp here, and I probably come back for more crispy food and soup.Parking: Weekend parking is tough because it's small but weekdays are fine.“

Large Crispy Pata

“One best crispy pata in Southern California. Cripsy skin, soft meat, and it tastes very delicious. Vegetable sa gata consistently good. Owner need to put some effort on the Atmosphere. At least remove boxes and take out containers out of sight and fix restroom door with comb lock that is hard to open (have to ask waitress for combo but told me to just pull door hard with no apology - if they care). Need designer to update interior and exterior of restaurant. FilAm restaurant owners really need to level up their business in order to compete with other ethnic food restaurants.“

Buko Pandan Gulaman

“My sister in law ordered a catering package for my mother in law's birthday party. She had my husband pick up the food on the day of the party and I tagged along. One side of the restaurant is a dining area with a couple TVs, and the other side consists of Filipino snacks such as chips and crackers, as well as some dry goods/groceries. The main counter/register area displays the different dishes that ate served for the day. The order was ready at the agreed pick up tome. Employees are friendly, and helped us load our food into my husband's car. He paid $641 (with tax) for a catering package that serves up to 50 people and consisted of: 100 pieces of lumpia (bite sized!), a full pan of palabok, and half pans of: sisig, adobo, fried fish, pinakbet, steamed rice and bistek; and a large sapin-sapin for dessert. Cost seemed pricy to me, but the food was good, and the guests raved about the palabok. The dessert disappeared shortly after I served it, so I'm guessing it was bomb too!“
