“Great views and yummy food. Menu is quite eclectic with an Asian and Middle Eastern twist. Our waitress Jambeth was nice and politely asked us when we sat down if we had a show at the Pantages. That was very thoughtful and much appreciated. As it was we were there for my birthday and so we were not in a rush and could enjoy the skyline and cuisine. Ordered the shrimp cocktail, chicken liver and charred carrot starter. Had Cacio & Pepe, Charmoula and Duck Confit as our main. Was given a complementary dessert as it was my birthday with a candle which was a lovely gesture. Would definitely go back for drinks on summer evening and enjoy the sunset.“
“Fun time at kinkan! We had the where are we going tasting menu which was cool to experience and learn anout each dish and how the chef came up with it. The head chef was not in town that day so the sous was serving us. The best dishes were the ama ebi, tuna tartare, and ceviche! All of the staff was very kind tooUnfortunately one of the items was substituted with bolognese which was disappointing (supposed to be uni pasta). And the fish and chips (amaida, matsutake) and crab fried rice was not impressive for this price point. I think it was great experience but food didn’t feel worth it in the end so I would not go back a second time.Parking: Small parking lot, handful of spaces“
“We really liked the food! Both got noodles, one street noodle with chicken and one pad see ew with chicken. Prices are super reasonable and the food tastes good, especially compared to some of the other options in the area. Excited to try more of their food. Chill music and good service. Nice casual option.“
“I am Thai and I gotta say this place has the most authentic (and delicious) Thai food in the area. They’re called coffee shop but it’s nothing to do with cafe-like shop. This is a real Thai restaurant, run by Thai people. The dishes I ordered tasted like what they were in Thailand. The drinks are moderate sweet, which is exactly what I needed!! Servers are really nice. They played 2000s Thai songs. Great place for gatherings or solo dining! Price was great too! Totally recommend!“
“Angela is an amazing host. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. The place is warm and full of life and the food is amazing. Probably the best Thai you can find anywhere within 50 miles! The homemade cilantro hot sauce should be bottled and sold. I would drink that by itself.Parking: Big lot nearby.“
“Honestly, we rarely have Thai and this place, being close to home, has been our go to spot that's never disappointed. My boyfriend placed our takeout order online tonight, Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork and Sweet and Sour Vegetables (with beef), both very delicious. When he arrived to pickup they kindly asked if he had made an error and were prepared to make the adjustment! What a relief to discover that extraordinary service is still alive in small businesses that care about complete dining experience ?“
“This is a must have every time I am in L.A.! The Khao Soi soup here is amazing and the fried dumplings are the best I’ve ever had! It’s a quaint little restaurant that gives a family vibe every time I visit. My first visit years ago was made special by Mrs. Kay, I was sad to hear that she was no longer working here during my last visit. The food is still very good, I would recommend stopping by if you are ever in the area.“
“Compared to a few years back this street food spot has gained a few more food stalls to neighbor it. There is now a bbq meet place, a salad and fresh foods place and a dessert one. I got three plates, one pad Thai, one pork fried rice and one of their new ground pork with egg dish. Pad Thai is good as always, fried rice was lacking flavor as before but they have seasoning for you to use. Their ground pork with egg was so good but holy crap it was spicy. It did have a good spice though I recommend it.“
“I grew up in a Thai household and the food here is very much authentic! The Thai northern sausage “sai oua” (ไส้อั่ว) is made fresh and is soooo delicious! ? It is difficult to find a Thai restaurant that makes this dish fresh, not frozen. The atmosphere is very humble and the restaurant space is small, but I don’t mind at all. They have a lot of choices for takeout food.“
“Food: Ordered a Hainan Chicken set and a sprite. I originate from Malaysia. Our Ipoh chicken rice is slightly different from this dish but ever so slightly. Only difference is the sauce. Overall, sauce was great, chicken was nice and tender and perfect considering it's a Hainan Style dish. Rice was nice and firm, you could taste the chicken fat in every bite of the rice. (Extremely recommended to pour sauce over the chicken.) 10/10.Service: Not much to say about service, this place is kind of a small neighborhood type of restaurant. Cashier lady was nice and sweet. 7/10.Atmosphere: The atmosphere was perfect, felt like I was back in asia with the random seats, different color tables and chairs from home. 8/10.Cashier speaks Thai for any Thai customers.Kap Khun Krap, Heng Heng for bringing back memories from my home country. Will be coming back.Dietary restrictions: Non-Halal only. Serves pork.“
“Food was AMAZING... We actually wanted to stay and order more food and dessert. But the waiting staff was horrific in their services. They didn't bring our food out together... nor the tables around us. Our dishes were practically locked clean the food was good.. but our dirty dishes sat in front of us for nearly 30 minutes before anyone ever checked on us. They never refilled any kf our drinks. Might come back for the food one day but this was quite the buzz kill for our experience here.“
“Incredible food! Wonderful welcoming service and food was quickly delivered. Chic and fun atmosphere, and very clean. Everything was so good, but make sure to also ask for the garlic chili oil and chili powder if you want to kick up the spicy and garlic flavor a notch! I loved the basil flavor of the spicy fried rice, and the sweet and spicy flavor of the spicy garlic noodles! Everything is vegan but you would never guess it based on how freaking yummy everything is!“
“We’ve been to many, many Thai restaurants in LA and this one is about to become our favorite! We had 3 dishes and they all were absolutely delicious. The satay chicken appetizer was the best one we ever had. You gotta try it. The vegetarian papaya salad was so good with just the right level of hotness we asked for and the chow menu with tofu was so delicious we licked it off the plate. Service was excellent and the place is warm and fun to be in. Highly recommended ❤️“
“Food: I got to try their sweet Crispy Crepe/ Khanom Bueang. They look like Thai Tacos to me. Absolutely a perfect snack to munch on if you're craving something light. Its crunchy, thin and a little sweet and salty at the same time. 6$ for 6 pieces. If you check in on yelp, you'll get 1 for free! Service : Amazing. Quick and friendly. Ambiance: A decent authentic Thai snack store“
“Holy Basil is instant comfort that teleports you home. The dishes are flawlessly executed and the flavors are consistently on point. The vibe of this hidden gem reminds you of your family’s kitchen and I feel like a kid again full of excitement from the escaping aromas. I lean heavy into firing the menu family style and always look forward to memorable meals shared. Their take out withstands LA traffic to the far away land of Santa Monica. Service is hands down the friendliest in town.“
“SERVICE is bitter here the servers have a this upset looking faces LOL. SMILE man!Food is EXCELLENT but due to service I don’t come here anymoreIt doesn’t fail, I have keep waiving to ask for everythingThey see you and ignore you!! NO BUENOI go to Central Thai and Hollywood Thai where servers are HAPPY“
“The 2024 Smorgasburg season kicked off today, 1/14/2024! While it is not close to me, I usually go at least once or twice a month. It's an ideal spot for outdoor dining with diverse culinary offerings, exploring distinctive shops, and soaking in a positive atmosphere.Smorgasburg LA is open every Sunday on the five-acre site of the weekday Alameda Produce Market in Downtown Los Angeles, which is part of a larger, new development called ROW DTLA.Each Sunday from 10 AM - 4 PM, you will find dozens of exciting food vendors plus sophisticated shopping from the realms of design, craft, style, vintage, wellness, and more. Cultural events, pop-ups, and other surprises transform the vast site into a new node in Downtown LA's burgeoning scene, and a unique destination for the area.Today, I tried Pad See Ew from the Radna Silom vendor. In terms of rating for that, I want to give it 4.5 stars due to price and portion ($15+tax and not much on the plate). I remember it being larger before.Overall, it is a must-check out for various foodie options.Tip:-Free 2 hr parking-Take your food outside of the main space and sit in the main ROW area-Go with others to try many things“
“Came here during a weekday around lunch time. Service was quick and kind. I had the khao soi and it hit the spot. Broth was flavorful and it had the right amount of noodles and meat. Lots of steady foot traffic from people that seemed to me on their lunch breaks so you know it's a good spot. Check it out for some good Thai food!“
“Been going here since before the Pandemic and it's always great! However, today they asked us to see our Vax Cards and Id's, that was a little uncomfortable. If I was the owner, I'd loosen up on that and not do what you're told. It's your business and it's on its last legs. It was much better when YOU called the shots and not the Government. Otherwise foods usually good and authentic.“
“It was my first time dining at Thai Central. It is a gem in East Hollywood for a Thai food. The food is very tasty. We ordered a few things, Kao Clook Ka phi, Boat noodle, and Papaya salad - the was delicious. And awesome service - from getting our order in and getting the food from the kitchen to our table. I like the cleanliness of the restaurant. We dropped the lid of something on the floor , and the server took the lid from us, he cleaned it and brought it back - impressive. Very nice and friendly servers, great food!“
“Wonderful! Highly recommend this restaurant. The orange chicken, jasmine rice and spinach was amazing and the chicken was tasty and tender. We also ordered the milk fried chicken, rice noodles, and power greens which was equally amazing. The staff were very nice and attentive.“
“The food was absolutely amazing! Everyone at the party loved the food. The meat was super Tender and juicy. All the salads and bread was delicious. I’m so impressed with their service. I wish I took pictures of the presentation before we ate all the food.“
“It was my first time coming here and let me tell you it's amazing. The portions are good and the service and atmosphere is super friendly. Such nice people helping you out. I would definitely be coming back here again. Their thai tea is a must to get!“
“I've been coming here for 17+ years... this food feels like home. The owner makes me feel at home every time. I've come here feeling a bit under the weather and she took care of me and gave me some delicious soup! And I was cured instantly! She's got magic in her restaurant!!! Thank you for everything!!!“
“The food is delicious!! They have both burmese food and hot pot / dry pot hot. I tried the burmese food and dry hot pot and it was excellent! The restaurant is a passion project of the owner and it really shows, he just wants people to be able to have delicious burmese food, and he is proud of his heritage. all around awesome!“
“Best thai place I had in awhile. Great value. I had the beef satay and my wife had the chicken satay. Beef satay is bomb. I recommend the cucumber salad over the papaya salad. It had a subway veggies type of taste. My wife is picky and ended up loving it. Be here soon again. 17 bucks average meal.“
“Bulan is by FAR My All Time Favorite Place to EAT when I’m in LA??️? The food is Outstanding and Always on Par! I Highly recommend the Inferno Chicken, Yellow Curry w/chicken, and if you L?VE Peanut Sauce Definitely TRY “Under the Specials Dishes” Sizzling Pra Ram Also love the Hot Wings as an Appetizer! We Love You Bulan! We Will Always Be BACK & Always Recommend You! ??Vegetarian options: The Absolute Best Vegan THAI Food!!!“
“Fabulous restaurant and loved sitting at the kitchen counter watching all the action. The food was spectacular and watching the efficiency on how the Chef directed everyone was amazing. Having worked in the industry for 15 years and personally having managed restaurants, I was still blown away.“
“We came on a Sunday, it is somewhat busy. The location has a few small Thai stands. We ordered the mango sticky rice coconut cakes and green onion coconut cakes. They are $10 ( each has around 8 pieces ).The coconut cakes are sweet , creamy and flavorful, they made it right in front of you so they come out warm. The mango is sweet and not sour so we are satisfied. Remember to bring cash cause they accept cash & zelle. After they take your order, they give you a ticket and they make your food. You just need to bring that ticket to get your food. The wait is around 25 minutes for the food, and there are 3 long tables next to the stand so you can eat there. We walk around the Thai grocery store across the coconut cake stand when waiting for food.It is a nice place to experience some Thai coconut cakes! Would recommend this place.“
“Unique menu with lots of variety, wonderful staff, and sweet atmosphere. You find a table and the order at the counter to have dishes brought to you. The staff is very accommodating for vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free preferences. Some items are marked as such and you can ask for modifications of most dishes when you order. Loved all the drink options, with the choice of adding boba and swapping for non-dairy milk too. I found free street parking on Lucerne. Looking forward to returning.Vegetarian options: Very accommodating for vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free preferences. “I came to this place on a Thursday afternoon and let me tell you: I am a huge enthusiast of Thai food but it gets harder and harder by the day to pick up one spot that is above all of the others. This place is a strong contender for that first place, though: it has it all, reasonable prices, great food, amazing service and chill ambiance. The server was a woman with short hair and glasses who truly went above and beyond for us (I should have asked for her name but I forgot). Everything, including non-traditional items like fried shrimp cake was just cooked to perfection. It all came out quickly and piping hot. Parking was fantastic too. You can even street park by the 99 cents store and walk a little bit. Highly-recommended place!“
“Solid Thai spot in Cypress! The food was very good and their chili powder is super spicy. If you get the lunch special, it is $2 cheaper and comes with ice cream and salad, but the portion is slightly smaller. The pad see ew was very flavorful, and even though tofu isn't on the menu it is an option for protein.“
“A very small Thai restaurant but great food. There isn't a very big parking lot in the back but you can find parking nearby on the streets. There also isn't many tables inside so that is why the wait times get so long. Luckily, we came at a good time and didn't have to wait. The employees are friendly and have good service too.We ordered the pad thai, pad see ew, chicken satay, khao soi. The satay was okay but I really liked the pad thai and pad see ew. However, the portions are a bit on the smaller side for the price. One dish is barely enough for one person. But I guess the size is good for trying different dishes with friends.“
“Friendly staff and good (and spicy!) food. It was not very busy despite it being a Saturday dinner night. The place is small but warm and welcoming. This place is known for its papaya salad, and it was pretty good!Parking: Parking in Thai Town can be difficult to find. Make sure to give yourself 5-10 mins to look for a spot.“
“I've been here a few times, and in these times, I've had the lunch special. It was price well. It comes with a drink of your choice, which I had Thai Ice Tea. It also comes with a salad and 2 dumplings. I would recommend this place.“
“So damn good. Great after a walk around the Silverlake reservoir. We were able to walk in and get a table in their backyard seating without any reservation on a Thursday evening.Food was delicious although could be a bit spicier, loved the atmosphere out back.“
“This is a long-overdue review! I've been coming here for the past two years, and without a doubt, this is my favorite Thai restaurant ever. The coziness of it makes me feel like I'm dining at my auntie's house. The customer service is exceptional, and the chefs are consistently amazing. If you're searching for a new restaurant to try, please add this to your list. It's our favorite place.“
“Best Thai food anywhere nearby, bar none! Owner and his wife serve you personally, make recommendations and cook some of the best food I've ever had. Standard dishes like pad Thai or fried rice with crispy pork or spicy green beans and beef, are made to perfection. They will accommodate allergies ( my wife is allergic to nuts) or whatever level of spice you are comfortable with. You need to try this food“
“Hello! Well being that I have gone to Thailand, I think my review will be valid. First things first is the welcome value 5 stars. The most sincere and pleasant staff. Service time above average. Plating was very visually appealing. Had the lunch special eggplant. Was cooked to my perfection. Overall what was most important was the smiles. That is what made the experience a full star rating.“
“We stopped by for a quick dinner on our first day in east LA. We had the orange chicken, kung Pao combination, jasmine and brown rice with iced green tea. The portions were large, food was delicious, hot, and the service friendly. It was a great start to the week.“
“Excellent food! A wonderful family run restaurant. My whole family goes crazy for their crab Rangoon and shrimp and veggie tempura. The golden shrimp dumpling curry is also amazing. They just expanded the menu, very excited to try more dishes. Have never been disappointed, and very friendly staff and owners!Vegetarian options: Lots of dishes can be made with tofu“
“I've been here several times for a quick meal. It's definitely more of a "mom & pops" shop. Their pricing is much more affordable, considering the rising costs of everything. I had the #5. ½ chicken teriyaki & short ribs. Also requested double mac, not a fan of the salad. The taste of the chicken and ribs were great. I love the taste like it's been cooked over a hot grill. This place gets very busy at times, my best suggestion would be to phone in your order. They do not accept card payments, CASH ONLY.“
“I have been going here for many years but it's been a while since I was there. I had the golden Curry and pineapple rice. It was great! And, the service was good as usual. I really like the Upscale Interior and experience of eating there. And the prices seemed reasonable compared to what prices have been doing at restaurants all over.“
“Simply put, Hollywood will be forever changed without the lovely experience ofSanamluang Cafe Hollywood. With gratitude and gratitude to spare,Veganic Perspectives ?Dietary restrictions: Please be clear before hand / your orderthat you have "Dietary restrictions",as to give yourself an excellentchance of meeting them. ??“
“Drumsticks dinner was very tasty , good portion. Pepper steak my friend had was disgusting due to the sweet chilli sauce and hers was with grilled potatoes which weren’t properly grilled and she literally had like 5 slices:/ she left the restaurant hungry. Waiter didnt even commented on her leaving this steak untouched… plus I was charged $4 for thai tea(which is far too sweet , didnt like it) and it was happy hour $3“
“One of the best original thai food places in East Hollywood, been coming here since 2005. I would recommend everything, their food is cooked with real thai ingredients and have stayed true to their recipes since then, love this place!Parking: Parking is shared with laundromat, but there’s plenty of parking on the street too.Kid-friendliness: They have high seats for kids. Friendly people.“
“I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere was spotless and inviting, and the staff were warm and welcoming. The Chili & Lemon Shrimp Saap and Chili & Lemon Chicken Wing Saap were standout dishes, full of flavor and depth. I also noted that it is better to order the wings & shrimp when you dine-in. I wholeheartedly recommend adding this restaurant to your must-visit list!“
“Ordered: Tofu pad thaiTotal came out to: $13.41 I ordered take out, but waited inside for my food. It felt really homey inside, and I liked how it clean it was. My pad thai came with a side of hot sauce and pickled jalepenos which were bomb!!! The pad thai itself had great flavor - not too salty, oily, or sweet. Also the nicest people working inside (': I think the pad thai was the best pad thai I've had in a wile, and I'm looking forward to ordering the egg rolls next!“
“My go-to spot for Thai food. I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. My personal favorites are the papaya salad, the panag curry, Tom kha soup, and the Thai boat noodle soup. The staff is very attentive and friendly.“
“This is my third time here and what brings me back is the Tom kha gai. It pairs really well with white rice and crunchy chili oil. The first bite I took from the pineapple fried rice I fell in love! It has such a sweet and savory flavor and the pieces of cashew brings another crunchy and nutty factor. The curry flavoring wasn't too strong and complimented the dish well. I came in at around 8pm and there wasn't any guests in the restaurant. There was a lot more take out orders than anything else. The food got there surprisingly quick, as soon as we ordered we received our soup, and a few minutes later we got our rice and noodles dishes. The server was so sweet, she helped us put our food in to go boxes and had a very friendly attitude.“
