“Pangea is one of my favorite restaurants because the menu has something for everyone. The food is delicious, prepared with high quality ingredients, and is well-priced for our area. The service is attentive and professional, great bar! The only issue I had was that my father is hard of hearing and the ambient noise is moderately loud, had a hard time hearing him recount how he has been dining in that location for 50 years, under restaurant names like the Butcher Shop and the Jolly Roger. I wanted to better hear those stories. Not sure there is a fix. Otherwise, the vibe there is fun and vibrant. Love the cherry blossom art!“

“The dishes are tasty, we ate “Carmel sunrise” and “waffles” for breakfast, everything was tasty. The espresso served was more of a coffee. The place is nice, but was a little noisy for breakfast. To our taste. Not a criticism but rather a suggestion: Too bad the drinks are served in disposable tableware. A problem that we have noticed everywhere in California. Let's do something for the planet and serve drinks to drink on site in real cups.Parking: Free street parking spaces limited to 2 hours. Shopping center parking sign.“

“Extremely hospital & kind. When you walk in you check-in and they seat you. Staff is super flexible with any seat you want, very quick service. Every staff member from the host/hostess, waitress, to the sushi chef himself (Shout-out to Michael; he was amazing) are very kind and provide amazing customer service! I also saw that another one of the sushi chefs knew his regular's favorite sushi order, which is a nice touch. You can tell walking into the place that they really value customer service. Wait time was extremely quick. Came in on a slow night (Wed approx. 8:45pm). I overheard another guest who was surprised that there wasn't a wait, which a great sign meaning that people like the food! Even on a busy night though, I would imagine they would still be pretty quick, they didn't waste any time. Ordered the Phoenix Roll (they light it on ) & an order of gyoza. Gyoza was fried nicely, not overly heavy. They give you a light sauce for them. Phoenix Roll was a recommendation based on gram worthy pics & taste. It was really good, subtle flavors that all blended nicely. And the fire show was a nice touch! Usually when places add show, they miss the mark on flavor, but not this one! I was a little hesitant on ordering the Phoenix Roll as I'm not usually someone who likes rolls with spicy tuna, but the sushi chef told me not to worry, it was a really mild spice and he was absolutely right! Fun fact for the spicy lovers! They even have the extreme heat peppers like ghost pepper & (2) others if you're into the so spicy you're sweating or challenging your friends to see who can hang! Lol I saw a lot of couples here. Casual dining.“

“Happy Hour from 5 to 6 pm Monday thru Friday is a bargain, the sushi, appetizers, wine and saki are a hit. Most items on the menu are between $5 and $15 dollars for edamame, cucumber salad, gyoza, and sushi or hand rolls. Beautifully presented and excellent service, everything fresh and yummy, in a very expensive restaurant town, this family owned Japanese Restaurant is a local secret.“

“We have lived in Monterey for many years and we pride ourselves on having eaten at all the best restaurants in the Peninsula but, in terms of service and hospitality, no one has ever come close to the service and hospitality we have gotten from your server, Leikin. The food? Well, everybody in Monterey (and the likes) knows the food at Hula’s is fabulous, but what makes it feel exceptionally special is your staff, and heads and shoulders above the rest is Leikin. She has served us on more than one occasion and every time she has made my wife’s and I visit memorable and above and beyond our best expectations. You should really be commended and feel lucky for having such a professional, charming and accommodating employee like Leikin. She is one of the reasons we walk the couple of blocks from our house to have dinner at Hula’s once a week.“
“This place has amazing food! The food might be the best I've ever had. The location was a couple of blocks off the main strip in Carmel. The restaurant itself was plain and had a diner feel to it but the food was top shelf. I do recommend it.“

“Probably the best poke place in Monterey county, the fish and vegetables are fresh and it's not too expensive. There isn't much place to eat inside but it's great for take out, especially lunch. Definitely recommend going here!“

“Hidden gem by the Del Monte Mall! The service was great, fast, and attentative. The food options were plentiful and the prices were great! I really enjoyed their veggie wraps and their house rice. The dining area is on the smaller side, but there's also outdoor seating. The restroom was very clean!“

“I hadn't eaten here for a long time and I'm not sure why. I recently downloaded their mobile app, and have found that it's super handy! There's no wait. I just walk up to the counter, am quickly greeted and handed my food. It's always piping hot! I try not to eat fast food. Chipotle, and now this place, are my go to places for a quick meal. I like the chicken teriyaki, the sauce is really good. The sticky brown rice and veggies are delicious. The veggies aren't soggy, and usually more al dente. I feel less guilty about calories when I order from here. I'm glad I returned to this place, as it seems to have improved a lot from my first experience.“

“On 04/11/2024 we had a great dinner, with one of the best views in the Pebble Beach area. Watching the sunset from that corner table, (which has to be the best view in this place,) was a great experience. The drinks, the food, and the presentation was fantastic, and it’s because the entire staff was great!Special thanks to our waiter Jesus, (he was also our server at breakfast at a different place that morning,) we explained that morning at breakfast it was our first time vacationing in the area, and we were not impressed with the tourist attraction restaurants that dotted the local area. He suggested that we come to Roy’s for dinner.Thank you Jesus! He took a couple extra minutes with us at breakfast, and during dinner. Truly one of a kind human. It’s always better when people working in hospitality will focus on the details… and customers.During our dining experience at Roy’s, he was very busy, yet he was attentive to every table, and every customer. It creates a great atmosphere!Money well spent…! We’ll be back.“
