“probably the best non-casual middle eastern restaurant i’ve been to. appetizers were top tier, packed with flavor and elevating classic dishes with unique pairings. drinks and service were solid but nothing too memorable. outside of drinks, prices were also pretty reasonable. overall, if you liked bestia, would recommend bavel as well and would come back to take others (just skip on the mains)!raphaella: smoky, savory, tasty drink but not top tierhummus avocado tahini: must try! don’t usually like hummus but the avocado made it lighter and creamier. pita was so fresh.chicken liver pate: enjoyed this dish. ingredients were fresh and sweet sour savory combo hit. bread was amazing. ranked lower in our list overall but still tasty.grilled prawns: must try! perfect charred flavor and well marinated. salad pairing was perfect to balance out the prawnsoyster mushroom: fav dish of the night, don’t skip this! never had mushrooms this way before. crispy, juicy, grilled with slight smokiness.malawach: we were full by the time this came out but it was okay. forgettable.lamb shawarma: disappointing. dish was well cooked and ingredients were fresh but lamb was too salty. would give it another chance.“
“You will not find better service than when you enter Borjstar. Honestly, they treat you like a star. They are attentive and incredibly kind, friendly, and accommodating. The food is just as great. Very flavorful and leaves you wanting more! They also have a yogurt/ice cream dispenser so you can treat yourself before/after your meal. Put Borjstar on your list of restaurants to visit in the Gardena/South Bay area. You won't regret it!“
“Went here once for dinner. I don’t think it was too long after they had opened. The service was great and the food was definitely very good. We went for dinner - it was probably a Wednesday or Thursday. The thing that I remember the most about it though, unfortunately, was just how insanely loud it is in there. Be prepared to yell at whomever you’re dining with so they can hear you. The entire interior is concrete. Everybody is jabbering away and the sound bounces around and soon everybody is screaming so they can hear themselves.“
“The staff are so nice and I loved the falafel, I wouldn't call this real mediterranean food if that's what you're looking for. The meat and falafel are good but the sides and overall tastes are off, not unpleasant but definitely a lack in favor.“
“One of the best places to eat Middle Eastern food in Los Angeles is Sahara Restaurant in Pasadena! ? I've been coming here since the 90s. The kebabs, hummus, tabbouleh, and Greek salad are my absolute favorites. Everything I've ever tried here is made fresh, yummy, and super delicious. ? The staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. They have an open-concept kitchen, so you can see them cooking all the food when you order at the counter. ?️ My family and I usually like coming here to have lunch on Saturdays before 3:00 PM (they close from 3:00-5:00 PM Mon-Sat, then reopen from 5:00 - 8:00 PM for the dinner crowd, closed on Sundays). They have parking in the back and two spaces for parking on the side of the restaurant. It's a fantastic place to relax and enjoy delicious food with family and friends. I highly recommend it! ?Parking: They have parking in the back of the restaurnt and 2 parking spots on the side, check signs for street parking in front of the restaurantWheelchair accessibility: They have a door large enough to accomodate a wheelchair“
“Had a fantastic dining experience at "Bowery Bungalow"! The food was exceptional, with a diverse menu and delicious flavors. The service was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was inviting. Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience.“
“I was finally able to check off Kismet after months of passing by it after work. The food was delectable and distinctive, and the service was great. The tahdig/persian crispy rice and the roasted maitake mushrooms were our favorites of the night. My boyfriend and I thought that some dishes could tone down on the acidity (like the carrot side dish). Overall, it was a solid dinner, and we would certainly be back to try the other offerings and the dessert menu.“
“Their grilled vegetables are snapping! Love their green sauce (not the Mexican one and I think it’s called chimichurri or something like that), it goes really well with the grilled chicken and vegetables we ordered. Love the hummus and yogurt, salad and the dressing. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff. The owner/chief who was with us patiently help us out with the choices for the bowl and very passionate about delivering friendly service. Definitely will visit again! Very healthy options too!Vegetarian options: Grilled vegetables, salad, hummus, corn, tomatoes and cucumber toppings, vegetarian sauce and salad dressing“
“Fave spot in LA and order here at least 2-3x a week. Best, most creamiest hummus I’ve had in my life. Rice is cooked to perfection every time. Both their salads are delicious and refreshing, Tabouleh Oaxaca Salad is a must try. Taco plate with chicken and cauliflower is my go-to. Everything is fresh and packed with flavor. Prices are affordable/reasonable and portions are perfect. Owners are super friendly and you can tell they put a lot of care and passion into their food.Dietary restrictions: Vegan and vegetarian friendly.Parking: Has its own parking lot. About 7 spaces.“
“This is a little hole in the wall kabob shop in Glendale. What's interesting is when you're driving down the street, there are so many kabob places and we chose this one based on some reviews that we saw and the fact that it look like a mom and pop shop and it was! I love supporting small businesses and the people working behind the counter were so helpful and kind. I'm pretty sure the wife was the one that served us and she was particularly helpful and delivered excellent service. We shared a mixed kabob plate that ended up enough for both of us! The meat was super moist and flavorful, especially I took note of the chicken breast which often can be dry. I would highly recommend this place!“
“This is a great lil joint hiding away in a not often traveled part of DTLA. It’s a small and cozy spot but the food they cook up is delicious and very good portion sizes. Nothing is crazy overpriced and the flavors of everything are spot on. We got the beef and chicken lule combo and lamb chop combo and loved it all. The char and flavor of the chops and lule was amazing. Plus the rice that comes with it was cooked perfect and I love that it comes with a sumac seasoning to add. Would definitely go back and recommend“
“Tried their falafel a chicken kebab plates. Loved every bite especially the falafel of course, and the tahini covered lettuce and tomato. I ordered the plate but ended up making my own little wraps anyway as it comes with pita bread. The owners are very friendly and most of the people coming in were obviously regulars and I loved that! Will return soon!“
“The team here is great. I had the pleasure of hosting a party here in December, they allowed me to book the entire place for the night with full service and entertainment. The owners treat you like family and make sure you have the best experience. Their pricing is also so fair, it's hard to believe how good it is. They were very flexible to what I wanted the party to look alike and accommodated as needed. I wish I had better pictures of the initial time of the party, but here's what I could find. The food was a hit with my guests, everyone said their kabob was great. I personally loved all the side dishes too!“
“If you're reading reviews trying to see if this place is good just do yourself a favor and place an order. The quality of food is amazing, everything always tastes fresh and the service is excellent. I cannot recommend Pita Paradise enough.“
“I love this restaurant! I eat here (or order from them on a delivery app) at least once a week, sometimes more. This is my absolute favorite restaurant. I highly recommend the chicken and filet combo plate. I can't say enough about this restaurant! The owners are nice, and always remember me.“
“This marks my third order from Anwar's within a single month. The freshness and flavors are beyond description. Were it possible to rate with more hands, I'd award additional stars without hesitation. Concluding my review, dining here feels akin to receiving a warm invitation into someone's home, where the meal is served with genuine love.“
“Pardis is a great Glendale option for Persian Food. The ambiance is inviting, the interior is modern clean, and the tables are spacious. The food and service are good, and the menu choices are plenty. The tadig and ghorme sabzi are a must. When you are craving Persian Food, Pardis is a good choice!“
“This place is fun. The gyros are piled full of meat. I have visited twice now. The people are nice and the place is clean. The only odd thing is that my fries tasted like fish. I noticed that they offer fish and chips, so you might want to keep the fries and fish in separate deep fryers.“
“The waiter was extremely helpful and suggested we try their family style dinner. We did the Hafleh Beiruti and the food was amazing. All the variety and incredible flavors were delightful. The Karas wine we tried was superb. It was a lovely, cheerful experience.“
“If you want a true home cooked experience, you have to go to Caravan. I started coming here a year ago and now it is my go to for a hearty meal with my family and of course delightful conversations with the owners and staff. You will walk in there a customer but leave as a member of their family. Always remember to support mom/pop business!!!!“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at **Best Shawarma**, and I must say, it was an experience that left a lasting impression. The star of the show was undoubtedly the **combo plate**. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and incredibly delicious. The succulent meat, the fresh salad, and the tangy sauces all came together in a delightful medley that was both satisfying and memorable. What struck me as exceptional was the **presentation of the food**. It was as if the plate was a canvas, and the chef, an artist. The food looked exactly like the photos, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality and consistency. But what truly sets Best Shawarma apart is their **customer service**. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Their dedication to customer satisfaction is evident and greatly appreciated. In conclusion, Best Shawarma offers not just a meal, but a culinary journey. With its delicious food, beautiful presentation, and excellent customer service, it's a place I highly recommend. If you're in the mood for a flavorful feast, Best Shawarma should be at the top of your list.****“
“We were in the patio and it was raining and dripping everywhere, even with heaters it was too cold. Restaurant is very busy and serves authentic Persian food. It was very tasty and lots of different spices that I am not very used to but it was something new to try. Everything we had was very delicious, from hummus to Kabobs. Service was excellent!“
“Carousel has been there for So many years, they have the absolute best Mediterranean food you can get anywhere. Highly recommended. And I love that they have vegetarian options lots of vegetarian options.Vegetarian options: They have tons of vegetarian options. I ordered one of their soups and their combo veggie platter phenomenal I could barely finish half of it. A great buy for your buck.“
“I rate this Restaurant a 10 out of 10 I absolutely loved the lamb chops. I also got the chicken plate with hummus a side of cucumber yogurt. The skewer of filet mignon was delicious. I devoured the whole plate. if you are looking for a chill setting with delicious fresh Mediterranean food, then I recommend this restaurant for you.“
“It’s hard to find good food in dtla and a lot of places are overrated, had passed by on my way to work and the aroma got my attention. Once I finally tried their cuisine, my mouth was exploding with so many exquisite flavors. 10/10 highly recommend.“
“I stopped coming here 2 years ago because the chicken was dry , the. Beef, lamb & tabouli ,veggies & salads were way too salty, i came w 7 ppl & they said the same thing. So today i decided to gv another chance. The chicken & salad was perfect once again! So happy they got the recipe correct finally! I will tell my friends & family to come back & give it another try!Vegetarian options: Veggies & salads were delicious.Parking: Easy, lots of room to park!“
“This is certainly a place in the center of the business district that is always worth your time and money. Beyond the nice restaurant vibe and mouth watering fusion of dishes, after having your meal, there is a nice rooftop bar to help amplify your day/evening!“
“This spot is probably one of the best Mediterranean food restaurants I’ve been to.I ordered the salmon with extra salad, no pita, no bread and two skewers of chicken koobideh. The salmon was very tender and flavorful. The ground chicken kabobs were also very delicious and the salad with their house salad dressing was very tangy and matched well with the meats. Great customer service, two TV’s and a great spot overall.I’d definitely come back again to try their other menu items.“
“This is a delicious option, in a cozy place, no crowd and great service by the owner.Food is so tasty, beef is really good (both: ground and tender beef), you have to try the cucumber yogurt and hummus. This place is an amazing choice in a town full of traditional restaurants with this type of food.Highly recommended!“
“My wife was craving for Mediterranean,Armenian cuisine then I told my wife let's go to the Golden Skewer Restaurant in Montebello. We step in the restaurant then we ask it's a take out then we look at the menu then we decided to order the chicken breast kabobs come with roasted vegetable, hummus, rice pilaf and a pita bread. To took away while because everything is made fresh daily at the restaurant. When our meal real we left and headed home but the aroma from food amazing and also we got a new car scent from the food. I open the container and food looks so good but the taste incredible good so much flavors in the chicken breast kabobs season good cook perfect all the spices seal in chicken while cooking. The hummus was good then I try the rice pilaf also good then roasted vegetable very good then use the pita bread to complete the meal. The garlic spead was good but little bit strong flavor but my wife say it was little bit strong for her.We enjoy the food we need to come back again.“
“THE KABOBS ARE SO GOOD!!! I just had the chicken Kabob plate with hummus and greek salad! Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. My whole family couldnt stop talking about how great everything tasted (kids got the Philly cheese sandwiches and hubby got the Gyro plate). I cant wait to come back!“
“Had the pleasure of trying out this new gem in Pasadena. Loved everything about it -- the food was delicious (very vegetarian friendly as well), the ambiance was moody & fun, and the staff was so accommodating and personable. Would definitely recommend and am certainly coming back for more!Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian options“
“True Armenian bbq is served at this place, authentic tastes that take you back to Yerevan. Luleh kabob is out of this world and the ikibir wrap is a must. It never disappoints to order from here my favorites are Beef luleh wrap with spicy peppers and potatoes and also ikibir wrap with spicy peppers, amazement.“
“Decent food for the price. We got the chicken bowl, one with rice and hummus the other with lettuce and cucumber yogurt. Both were tasty and kept us full until dinner. The hummus was good and was not too strong with any one flavor. The chicken was seasoned well and moist. The yogurt was not too bitter and the cucumber gives a nice crunch. This is a great place to get a grab and go lunch.“
“The best Mediterranean/persian/armenian food in dtla. I had the half chicken plate and it was HUGE and very filling. The prices here are unbelievable low and the food quality is amazing. Very clean on the inside too and friendly workersWould definitely come here just keep in mind limited parking nearby“
“Wonderful people! Everything is fresh and home made. It doesn’t get more authentic and delicious than this. Highly recommend the kebab and the khinkali dumplings. Can’t wait to come back here over and over again!Vegetarian options: Armenian cuisine is extremely vegetarian friendly. All kinds of salads and hummus as well as roasted vegetables off the fire.Kid-friendliness: They adore kids here.Wheelchair accessibility: Very accommodating and plenty of room to sit at a table with wheel chair.“
“We have been ordering food from Kabab and More for over 27 years. Not only personal dishes, but we order her catering services too. The owner, Rubina, is the absolute sweetest person we've ever dealt with in the food industry. Her food is always absolutely delicious, so fresh, spiced very well, not salty and always served with a friendly face and big smile. We have tried every dish and they're just all equal in the best Mediterranean cuisine flavor and the prices are very comparable to other Mediterranean restaurants. This restaurant is an absolute MUST-TRY!!!“
“Excellent chicken sandwich (wrap)! Great sauces to get the sweet and savory to your liking...but the best part of HGs in Glendale on Brand is Gil and Claudia who prepared my food and were exceptionally friendly and professional. See you next week!“
“It's a great place for a family they have a Bar there so you can have what you like with your delicious food. The service is quick and you should give it a tryIt is similar to dumplings but it is not i am saying that just to give you an idea of what khinkali is, the flavor and the texture are completely different and you can have it either boiled or fried, you eat it with butter, sour cream which you don't with dumplings. They offer (Felemene) it is different from khinkali but it is more flavored in my opinion.Go and give it a try you will love it.“
“First timer here. They've got a lot of options here at parties. Tenders, sandwiches, I think I saw gyros and of course French fries. I got there and went straight for the tender combo with a nice cold fountain Pepsi and a side of ranch. First I had the fries which is always a must. I don't understand anyone who don't go for the fries first I've met people who don't go for it first and they go for their let's say they get a burger then they get into their fries. Anyways I love them! They are shoestring and it was nice and crisp! I went to the tenders next and man it was so good! It was juicy and flavorful and it was descent sized too! I was struggling to finish the tenders but I did it haha My one gripe is that I wash the breading didn't fall out so fast like it came apart quickly after I picked it up but no biggie it was good anyways. The ambiance is whatever it was inside a mall so you'll be expecting a lot of talking and walking and such however I will say that the inside of the kitchen is well taken care of! The staff was friendly and attentive and quick to help right away! Kudos! I will def come back for more!“
“I stumbled upon Shayan Express Restaurant, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be! The service was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to make us feel special. Now, let's talk about the food – an explosion of flavors that awakened my taste buds. The lamb kebabs were tender and flavorful, and the aromatic rice dishes were heavenly. The ambiance was charming, with Persian carpets and traditional decor creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I left with a happy heart and a full belly, and I'll be returning soon!“
“Delicious food and friendly service. Ordered to go, but ended up staying and eating in the patio area which has heat lamps. This place is small and no indoor dining. Will definitely go back!Parking: Street parking only in a crowded neighborhood.“
