“One of the best meals I’ve ever had in Encinitas— A must try! This place feels fresh and inspired. You’re immediately transported to a trendy villa in Mexico with an aire of heritage and culture. The owner is from a successful line of restauranteurs in Mexico. It’s clear he knows what he’s doing from the atmosphere to the cuisine. The chips and salsa are delicious, fresh and unique (all made in house). We ordered the Mole Enchiladas and Tuna Tostadas, which were both incredible and would order again on our next visit. Then, of course, couldn’t resist the finale dessert of churros! (Filled with pastry cream with chocolate dunking sauce on the side). The entire experience was an absolute treat and I can’t wait to go back and introduce more people to this local gem.”

We ordered the çılbır (Turkish eggs) and added the hanger steak, and honestly, it was perfection. The steak was grilled beautifully — juicy, tender, and right at medium rare — and it paired seamlessly with the soft-poached eggs. The herbed yogurt added this cool, tangy balance to the rich chili-garlic butter, and the torn herbs gave everything a bright, fresh lift. Every bite had that ideal mix of creamy, spicy, and savory. The toast was golden and crunchy, perfect for chasing down every bit of sauce.

Then came the torrija (Spanish-style French toast), and wow. It’s rich without being heavy — a thick-cut sourdough soaked in yuzu cheesecake custard, topped with pecans, pear, and candied ginger. The textures were layered beautifully: crisp edges, custardy center, bright citrus notes cutting through the sweetness. It’s one of those dishes that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate what’s happening.

It typically comes with chimichurri but I couldn’t have that, so chef prepared a delicious garlic and herb compound butter for me instead. Thoroughly enjoyed how delicious my meal was and it was made all the better by great service and atmosphere. Attentive service from Zack and an all round fantastic dining experience with some fabulous views of the sunset.”

I recently had a family get-together here and the staff was so kind and accommodating—we pushed a few tables together and they didn’t blink, just made it happen quickly and with a smile. The food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent, and parking is always easy. I live in Escondido now, but it’s still worth the drive whenever I’m craving really solid, satisfying tacos and burritos. A long-time favorite that keeps living up to the memories.”

It's a perfect spot for my cycling friends, especially since they have bike racks for convenience. The coffee is great, the breakfast sandwiches are fantastic, and the service is excellent. “Best Juice in town. I usually go in a couple of times a week to get the V6. It has beets, apples, carrots, and celery. I usually add an orange to it also. Makes me feel energized and clean. They also have a pretty tasty Acai bowl with granola and peanut butter. Very accommodating if you have allergies. Has been in business almost 20 years with the same owner. You have to give them a shot. Every couple of weeks, I do the 3 day cleanse. If I'm feeling brave, I do the 6 day cleanse. My girlfriend likes the raspberry smoothie.

Vegetarian options: Clean juices with just veggies.

Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating if you have allergies or dietary restrictions.

I travel a lot for work and have had the fortune of trying some of the best Indian restaurants in the nation, including dozens of places in SoCal. Everest Himalayan Cuisine is by far, the best restaurant I've ever been to. This cozy casual restaurant opened in November originally for take-out. I am a big fan of dine-in, so I was excited to find out that they recently opened for dine-in. I came with my best friend (we're always looking for new favorite restaurants). We decided to get a couple things to share. Started off with the Lamb Momos. They were such a wonderful treat. For Entrees, we went with the Lamb Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken with Cilantro Garlic Naan. While eating our Momos, an adjacent table received their Tandoori Chicken and Lamb. It smelled and sounded so good, we decided that we would have to order more (we also ordered Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Tandoori). Our food came, and when I dipped my Naan into the sauce, I nearly cried it was so good. It reminded me of a better version of my grandmas famous Tikka Masala. It's was then, that I knew this would become my new favorite place. It was so flavorful and luscious. All the meat was so tender. The Naan was supple, while pillowy and stretchy at the same time, (clearly proofed perfectly). Every dish we tried was the best iteration of the dish I've ever had. I usually order my food quite spicy (9-10), but if you like a flavorful warm heat, get a 5 to 7. We ordered another order of the Cilantro Garlic Naan to get every bit of the sauce. I know I'll be back soon. I really would like to try more of their dishes and their desserts. They also have a nice Lunch Special, I'd like to try.
