“Been coming here for over 20 years. No soup today and they no longer have the dessert but we always enjoy the food.We love all the salt and pepper items, chicken wings, tofu, and fish. All of these are super good and had to get multiple orders of each for 11 people.Steamed tofu we had to order by showing a picture, we get 2 orders of this too.Was here on a weeknight so it wasn’t too busy and we were able to sit and talk for awhile.“

“I've tried the Daeho in japantown SF and I've had the Daeho in San Jose...but I feel like this Daeho tastes the best??? I'm not sure if it's the meat quality, portion sizes, flavor or what but this is my favorite location out of all the Bay Area locations.Daeho specializes in galbi-jjim, which is Korean braised beef short ribs in the most delicious sauce. You MUST get the cheese on top because they torch it at your table and it makes for a great IG story haha. I also like to get rice cakes in it. The large size can feed a table of four. The spice level is kind of inconsistent among the chains or even on certain days. I usually get spicy and I thought it wasn't spicy, during my most recent trip. (Maybe my spice tolerance went up? Maybe the chef just made it less spicy?) If you're unsure what spice level you are, I would err on the side of less spicy because you can always add spicy to it later.Aside from the beautiful galbi-jjim, I think everything else on the menu is pretty good. I like to pair my galbi-jjim order with a cold noodle to offset the heat. I think the soups here are so good. Their galbi-tang (short rib soup) is perfect on a cold day.“

“Inexpensive restaurant with a great variety of dishes. Don't if the dishes were not as tasty, but they also were plentiful. We will go back to sample other dishes. I did not care for the seafood noodle soup. Fried rice and chow mein were tasty. The salt and pepper bean cake was missing the salt.“

“Located in busy downtown San Mateo, this is an outstanding Japanese restaurant! Traditional preparation and high quality seafood. Be sure to try call in for a reservation, as this place is very popular. In fact, we had a 5:00 pm reservation and learned that the fresh oysters were already sold out(fortunately, they spared one order for us). Highly recommend their 8 piece sushi omakase. Loved their agadeshi tofu: fried tofu in warm broth. Their chawan mushi is another great starter, steam egg with chicken, fish cake.“

“I had visited this place after having walked by it many times when I came to San Mateo for food. The wait was quite long as it was an estimated 40 minutes but I believe we ended up getting seated after around 25 minutes. The restaurant was definitely quite packed as it was around lunch time but the seating arrangement was still comfortable. We decided to get a chili oil pig ear for appetizer and then got the hand pulled noodles. There were so many options for the type of noodle but I landed on the thick noodles and the texture was perfect! The flavor of the soup was super savory and hearty but also very clear at the same time. The noodles had the perfect Al dente texture. Overall, one of my new favorite places to go to for beef noodle soup!“

“I want to give 5 stars because the food is consistently good and value oriented. I can't remember a bad meal that I have had here. The only real complaint that I have is that despite the fairly high number of times we have eaten here, we are still treated like new customers.. No hello, good to see you again.. Although it is very petty, I noticed that tables were being given a complementary sorbet serving at the meal end. They forgot ours.. I know my wife will say I'm being ridiculous but I am kind of disappointed. No very disappointed ☹️.“

“Very good food quality. Their extra spicy noodle is no joke. It was really spicy yet the flavor was good. Meat was tender. Even the small dishes like fried fish and stinky tofu was good also. Plenty of seating inside. They have cilantro and green onion station if you wish to get some. Staff was friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend this place..“

“We had spicy tuna rice cake and both types of Ramen. Shoyu Ramen was better than Tonkotsu, though a bit more oily than we enjoy. Tonkotsu was very bland - it required more salt and spiciness. Crispy rice with Spicy Tuna was great. They do have 16% service charge.“

“Went to Himawari on a rainy day. Looking for an intimate location. The entire restaurant has an amazing atmosphere as the walls are decorated with records and jazz music plays throughout. The ramen selection is very good and they have quality broth. Despite there being three parties ahead of us, things moved by quickly, and I was seated in less than 10 minutes. Would consider this place a restaurant that desires for parties to eat quickly and leave instead of staying however, long they please to chat a.k.a. 1 1/2 hours plus.Vegetarian options: There is a singular vegetarian ramen, and some additional salads and side vegetarian dishes but I wouldn’t recommend this place to a vegetarian because there isn’t a large enough option and I wouldn’t consider the price is reasonable for almond for example, the vegetarian ramen isn’t base price“

“Cute authentic mom and pop shop with really juicy soup dumplings! FOOD- Soup dumplings: super filled with soup, moderate-thin skins, filling has good umami taste that is on the sweeter side. Ask for the slivered ginger to go with it- Pan fried soup dumplings: crispy outside, fluffy bun. Little soup inside- Scallion oil noodle: good flavor but oily. Would have liked fresh scallions as well to make it more fresh- Shanghai Ja Jang Noodles: it reminds me of bolognese with pickled cucumbers. The pickles cut through really nicely - Stir fried udon: really nice flavor with some veg, noodle texture is firm, I prefer it more QQ Service is friendly, English/Chinese speaking. Not the most glamorous or modern restaurant, but clean and simple. Parking lot outside but plenty of street parking around. No wait on Sunday dinner“

“Usually get the banh mi sandwiches here that are very good with delicious bread and generous fillings. The price is more than usual for banh mi, but that’s the Ave for you. Strangely due to it being a Vietnamese cafe, they have a lot of Japanese curry dishes here as well.“

“The waiters were very attentive and polite. Suggested dishes that we should try. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. Best noodle house in MilbreaParking: Finding parking is difficult as the restaurant is on a small street. You need to find parking somewhat further away and walk to the establishment.“

“We’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, and it never fails to impress. The delicious Thai cuisine is a culinary delight, and the staff's kindness enhances the overall experience. The yellow curry is my absolute favorite – a flavorful masterpiece. Five stars without a doubt!“

“Ben Tre has good flavor with good portion size. In my opinion the spring rolls are some of the best. The soup is in the top groups if you like beef broth. The restaurant is very clean and they are consistent throughout there locations.I always get the rare beef with brisket soup and meatball spring roll. Occasionally I will get the shaking beef or the 5spice chicken and neither option will let you down. The garlic noodles are pretty good, not oily and good flavor of garlic. A place worthy of trying for sure!Parking: Limited but not impossible, if you come on the weekends be aware they have a market and the parking may be toughWheelchair accessibility: Accessible and spacious“

“Happy Lunar New Year! Welcoming in the year of the Dragon. My friend Ralph spoke highly of the food he had at this location and since I've never been, so I was intrigued.Earlier last night, we came in fairly late thinking the establishment was opened until 2am. Despite coming in around 10:21pm and finding out they were only opened until 11pm... we were still welcomed in with open arms!In continuation of celebrating my 45th birthday and was hungry for the night, we weren't rushed and our server Shally took care of us for the night by introducing some of her favorite skewers.I ordered the following: Genmaicha Green Tea, Hana Lychee Sake, Butabara skewer (Pork belly) x1, Gyutan skewer (Beef tongue) x2, Momo skewer (chicken thigh) x1, Wagyu Beef skewer (sweet) x1, Unagi skewer (freshwater eel) x2 and last but not least their Tonkotsu Ramen!Their Tonkotsu Ramen was the best, it had a creamy, not salty broth with just the right amount of ramen to soup ratio, I highly recommend it! I was quite surprised at their quality and the price of $15 was absolutely worth it!“

“Social Eatery is a space that has 2 restaurants and 1 boba place all in one - Noodleosophy, Rice Monster, and Grapeholic. It’s very close to the Millbrae BART/Caltrain station (a 3-minute walk) and also has a pretty big parking lot??.There’s a screen near the entrance for people that are just ordering boba to-go. If you’re there for dine-in, they’ll lead you to some seats and you can order from all three places at the same time. Lots of seats for dine-in and there’s even a foosball table⚽️.Our table had a QR code for you to see the menu and order but they brought a tablet over for us to order. Not sure why but I have no issues with that??♀️.We ordered Beef Stew & Tendon (公公半筋半腩) and Pickled & Sliced Beef (知府酸湯肥牛).Took a little while for the orders to arrive (almost thought that they were preparing everything from scratch and cutting a whole cow open on the spot?), and there were kids running around in the place so it was pretty loud?. But after tasting the food, I have to say that the wait was worth it! The servings were pretty big, and the broth was very flavorful. Wasn’t too overly seasoned and the texture of the noodles were great.“

“I crave their tofu banh mi! Tonight I rolled in just minutes before closing and they were so gracious and kind, not making me feel at all guilty for ordering food so late… and it was made extra delicious! We are lucky to have them in HMB ✨“
