My mother chose the chili to start fish and chips rather than salad options. Ambiance? Like going to your favorite aunt for a meal.“

“This restaurant is the Epitome of Taco paradise! They have the most amazing meat, it's so fresh and delicious. The restaurant is in an interesting location, but it's so fun! The staff is very attentive and gracious. You order from the monitors on the wall and they bring the food to you. Their details are impeccable, they have to go dishes out for you to grab if you need them and various condiments and such. Go early, parking is just street parking and that's very rare to find. “Absolutely adorable family-owned Kosher candy shop! Many of my friends who grew up in the area have fond childhood memories of scoring a sweet treat at this old fashioned candy store. If you are attending a bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, bris or Jewish wedding anytime soon, this is an excellent place to get a nice gift basket or party platter for the occasion. When you enter the store, there will be tables on your right followed by a great-looking ready-to-scoop ice cream selection under the glass a big menu and an attentive staff member to help you make a selection and ring you up. Take your time filling a plastic bag with unique homemade candy from around the world. My favorites are flavors like saffron marzipan white chocolate with pistachio and rose. I stumbled upon this place because I had a meeting a few blocks away and had to check it out because of its super old school looking storefront. If something looks like it's been around that long, you know it's doing something right! Its a small basic little kosher deli with sandwiches, deli meat, fresh made knishes and other Jewish pastries. I just wanted a little snack, and got a chicken knish and it was amazing, just like my grandmother used to make them! While he was heating it up, we chatted for a bit and he told me the shop has been there since 1942 i believe and that he's the 3rd generation owner. He's the sweetest old man. He also offered me a sample of his lox that he makes himself with no nitrates, along with a chicken tender. The lox was some of the best I've ever had, it wasn't too salty and was super buttery and melted in your mouth. The chicken tender was great as well. If your looking for a great old school no frills kosher deli, look no further, this is your spot!“

“Bibi's was the third stop on our little self-made hamantaschen tasting tour of LA, and it was the RUNAWAY WINNER! They didn't look great sitting there in the case, and there were only three left--two apricot and one chocolate. The person working there suggested the apricot, and--none of us really into apricot--we prepared to be disappointed. But wow! The taste was unparalleled. Perfect texture, good filling, good filling-to-cookie ratio... It was also far less expensive than the other places we tried. Win-win! Hands down, Bibi's makes the best hamantaschen in town. (Also, I couldn't resist buying a bag of the pita topped with the Everything seasoning, and was delicious! Just don't accidentally leave it in your car overnight like I did, or your car will smell like a bagel shop...)“

“Tried this deli after walking in there last time just to buy a side of pepperoncini. I purchased a brisket and pastrami sandwich, and a 1/2 pound cut of fatty brisket. We all thought it was a pleasant sandwich and was flavorful but not too heavy. I will go eat there again, and try some other items. “I've been coming to this restaurant for years and it's easily one of my favorite places to eat. I've tried just about every item on the menu and have never been disappointed. The food here is always fresh and always tasty. Of course, my favorite thing to order are their burgers and they have a variety of different styles of burgers to choose from! I personally don't feel like you can go wrong with any of them. They're all unique in their own way. The restaurant itself is always clean and bigger than many other kosher restaurants in the area, with seating available inside as well as outside. The staff are all very friendly as well and the food comes out quickly, which is always a plus. Their extensive menu means there is always something for everyone so it's where we usually go when we go out to eat with a large group. LA Burger Bar has been my go to spot for years and it's a restaurant that I consistently recommend to anyone looking for some great food.“

I looked him dead in the eyes and asked, “is this heaven?”, and he merely smiled and said, “no, it’s the Fish Grill”. Is this place as much of a legend as Field of Dreams? Maybe. Was it pretty effing good? Absolutely. I’m coming back. Tomorrow. “Emuna Catering went above and beyond... and then they went above and beyond that!!!I'm an Azeri Jew from the former Soviet Union. Not only is our cuisine very specific but our culinary style is vastly different from what catering companies are accustomed to in this country. We redefine what the term "family style" means.On top of a loaded cocktail hour, we were looking for a caterer that could provide 12 cold appetizers to each table, a few hot appetizers, and 5-6 different entrees that would satisfy meat-eaters, pescatarians, and vegetarians alike. And of course, on top of it all, it had to be kosher. I spent many stressful weeks talking to different caterers. None of them took the time to truly understand what I was asking them to do. And none of them could deliver.Enter John. John delivered on every level. We had an abundance of food. Shawarma. Chicken kabob. Shish kabob. Kubideh. Tacos. Avocado egg rolls. Moraccan cigars. And that's just cocktail hour. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We had so much beautiful food waiting for us at our table after the ceremony concluded. I'm tempted to list everything here but it would make this review far too long. Nobody was hungry for one second at any point throughout the night and the food was amazing.There was also a desert room at our wedding that could have doubled as an art installation. The fruit was cut and assorted beautifully across the tables. There were so many different types of pastries. We had a tea station and an espresso station, both of which had a server who showed the most generous hospitality with their spirit. Everyone keeps talking to us about the desert room. My aunt just called me yesterday to rave about the wedding, specifically the food and the deserts. She told me it felt like we were all relaxing with everyone we love in a beautiful home that we created.Meanwhile, the bar at our wedding was outstanding. The bartenders were having fun with our guests. At one point, they brought out a tray of shots to the dance floor with bottles that had VIP sparklers attached. I had no idea they were going to do that. It was a blast. If that's not your thing, I'm sure they would read the room accordingly. But they understood our vibe and added a lot to our celebration.I'm telling you, John didn't deliver, he OVER-delivered.I probably called him 50 times throughout the course of the wedding planning and he always made time for me.
