“The food was great. But there's always a but. I ordered no beans I was very clear. And you guessed it beans all over my plate. They did try to make it right with a new plate. The beans still made it on my taco. And the TACOS were good. I'll be back.“

“I stumbled across this place because I was craving birria tacos. I got the quesa birria tacos and they were hands down the best I’ve ever had. The restaurant is decorated so nice for Valentines and everything looked super clean. I went there twice within a week and had wonderful experience both times. The employees are super helpful and nice. Absolutely love this place!!“

“Great service. It was so helpful with their recommendations of tacos since there are so many choices. This evening it is raining, and due to that, they gave a discount. Fair prices already. Great little place. Friendly people. Really good food.“

“Service excellencent. Cash or check only. No bueno Coffee tasty. Small cups though. Like larger cup so less refills Had chili Colorado w flour tortillas. Tortillas were hot hot hot! Tasted homemade Chili Colorado w papás had decent flavor. Not like I'm used to but good. I just wish there was more flavor to it and a tad more serving size. I marked down 1 star for no CC and small serving size. Good neighborhood staple“

“Yes! The pupusas are amazingly delicious. Any and all of them. I've come here a few times. But another plate on the menu that has not been talked about enough is their mojarra frita (fried whole fish). Let me tell you that this speciality item is soooo worth the wait! Best pescado frito around for sure. And the beans and rice complimented it so nicely. On a note, if you are in a rush, I recommend to place a phone order ahead of time as the food is made fresh.Vegetarian options: Pupusas without meatRice and beansFried plantainPupusas de loroco“

“Just had one of the best dining experiences EVER at Zócalo. Not only was the food excellent, but the service was incredible. My server America was prompt and hospitable in helping me decide on their expansively delicious brunch menu (glad I took her recommendation on the Arrachera con Huevos). She and the bar staff were also very accommodating, even as I ordered technically “off-menu” drinks. As I finished up, I was so pleasantly surprised to see a manager on duty (Nicholas) cheerfully helping his staff clean tables on the patio and sweep up the area as the brunch lull died down. He even grabbed me a to-go bag for the box he saw on my table without me even asking. It was so refreshing to not only have my needs anticipated but to see a staff that seems to work together so well to provide a truly excellent dining experience. Worth even more Michelin stars than they already have!“

“I went to tipsy putt for the first time last week to attend drag bingo for my birthday. Bingo was fun! Arrive early to get seats and get your bingo cards from the bar. When you walk in, you have no idea where to go for bingo. Once you do get to the seats where it's at, it's still a little confusing. I just sat down, not knowing you're supposed to walk up to the bar to get your cards ($5 for 10 cards). You also order food/drinks at the bar.My friends ordered nachos. They were good. Chip to topping ratio was off though. The place looks fun with other various games to play.I will be back for bingo tho. I really enjoyed the host."Oohhhh yyyeeeaaahhhh"“

Listen u have like 5 to 10 bucks you're going to get at decent meal breakfast lunch or dinner.“

“It was okay. I'd recommend the meat grills, however, which they cook in front of the restaurant. The pictures they have on the menu are not the same esp for the sides. I thought treatment wasn't as friendly towards females at least my experience of it. No ice for drinks.“

“This place just might be one of my top 5 taco spots. The tortillas on the street and crunchy tacos are perfect, the meat is amazing, the chips are fresh and the salsas are really good. The horchata is also really good. Most of the great tacos Ive had are from taco trucks but this Taqueria might just have the best Ive had yet. I strongly recommend the chicken and asada. 5/5.“

“My family came in for a nice easy dining experience and we left with that and so much flavor. This place serves authentic cuisine at reasonable prices in a very chill clean environment. My wife got some veggie tacos, my daughter got a black bean carne asade kids burrito with fresh fruit slices and pineapple mango agua Fresca, and I got the birria taco plate with one extra taco. The food came out with a lovely display. I would have, and should have, taken pictures but the smells were so intoxicating the food did not stand a chance. The dipping of the birria was so good this rainy evening. I will be back and be bringing my appetite. Thank you for a wonderful easy night out.“

“We had been here a couple of times and the food was great, but we were there a week ago and it was horrible. The service was lacking, and the food was sub-par. I ordered the super burrito and the carne asada tasted burnt and had a terrible aftertaste. Debating whether we’ll return.“

“I stopped by Panchitos because of the unique name and I was very hungry. I was craving fish tacos. Thankfully they had it and I also ordered the shrimp tacos and their home made flan. I am a big foodie! I've lived in San Jose, mountain view, all over the bay area and I'm now in Placer County. Panchitos has excellent service and the best tacos and flan! No matter what you order, you will not be disappointed and you absolutely MUST try their flan. This just made my day! Thank you for your wonderful food and for your very kind hospitality. “Excellent view of cashiers and all different types of bottles of beer. Very authentic Mexican style. Glass top for heating the chips. We ordered our dishes and were able to dine outside in the open air. A couple of families were in there and a couple of patrons. When they brought us the food it was really excellent oh my gosh. Lots of cheese on the beans and excellent cheese enchiladas. I used to live near Mexico and I know how it is supposed to taste.“
“This place needs to be known by more people! Went in to get some grilling meat for NFL playoffs and it blew me away. Everything is extremely clean and the staff was very welcoming. I was able to ask questions about products to verify if anything contained gluten. I settled on the pre marinated Carne Asada. It was delicious and amazing flavor combo. They also offer to go tacos and tamales. I will be back to try them out in the near future!“

“This place is a historic restaurant that caters to many Sacramento locals. Generally very consistent with their entrees. probably the worst item in their menu is the chips and salsa that arrived on your table. very mediocre. But let's judge this place for their cuisine. They are very proud their entrees are prepared with lard. Yes, that rendered animal by-product that adds so much flavor. So what did we order: 1) chili verde: large serving of very tender pieces of pork in a flavorful sauce. Just a hint of spiciness. the rice and beans are also very good especially the beans which were probably made with lard. very hearty dish that also comes with flour or corn tortillas-but no longer home made. 2) 3 item combo: 2 homemade pork tamales with tender pork filling wrapped in a very moist flavorful masa. What helps these tamales is the homemade tamale sauce. yum yum yum. The accompanying beef quesadilla is also very flavorful with ground beef and cheese and grilled on a flat top. another tasty item The food here is very good. But i also sense my arteries are clogging after having this meal. Be prepared for taking food home because the portions are large.“

“10/10 the tacos are huge! They have tons of meat and the salsas are chefs kiss! The buche is my favorite! It's super tender and perfect amount of salty. The service was quick and good. The girl at the counter was super patient and kind. It's a pretty big seating area, you order at the counter and take a number. They bring it to the table. They have chips and a salsa bar that's all self serve! The sour cream with jalapeños are sooooo good with the chips. Def will be coming back !“

“Fantastic! I love the staff I love everything that I've had here. They turned me into a coconut convert. I used to hate them but the way they prepare for here is delightful. We used to live two blocks away and I was so sad when we moved because I wasn't within walking distance to this place anymore, I now make an additional 30 minute drive just to buy from here. Well worth it, they also hand make all of their ice creams in house.“

“Very disappointing experience. We've been to this Zocalo site as well as Roseville and midtown several times and always enjoyed the food and service. The server we began with was personable and efficient. For some reason (unexplained) a trainer and her trainee showed to take our orders. The trainer took the orders but repeated back my wife's incorrectly. My wife corrected her and the trainer assured her she had the order correctly entered in her pad. When the meals came, the order was wrong. The backserver was able to quickly make the change. All dishes were tepid or slightly warmer. This was not the Zocalo to which we had become accustomed. The patio was empty when we began but even as it filled, still a nice environment. But management needs to ensure better cleanliness as there were paper napkin ties and napkins on the ground as well as food crumbs/remains. A routine sweep, a double entendre here, would really help. Next time will be better, yes?“

“Excellent service! We were a bit late for our reservation on Saturday 3/23 and had to be at a show, so I was concerned we wouldn't have enough time to be seated, eat, and pay. The whole crew from the hostess staff, the back of house chefs, and the waiter went out of their way to make our experience pleasant. They didn't know that the dinner and show were a gift for my 15 year old son's birthday, and that they had a part in setting the night on the right foot. The place just seemed to be run well. The food came out hot and we enjoyed each dish, the ambiance is really warm and inviting with cool art, and the prices are reasonable. We'll be back to try some Vegan dishes next time we're in downtown Sacramento!“

“If you like to adventure with your tacos and like a bit of diversity in the flavors, this place is the spot!! The combinations of tacos they mash up are insane like banh mi, pork belly, butter chicken, tuna! And the cocktails are also delicious. I wish they were a bit stronger but it made them super delicious. My absolute favorite taco of all was the pork belly that was a close tie with the banh mi taco. The meat was so tender and flavorful, it was literally dripping down my arm. I loved that they matched the taco bread with the dish like the banh mi was in a softer bread and the tuna was in a lettuce wrap and the butter chicken taco was in a naan bread. They also have exciting new tacos all the time to try, and my personal favorite the “secret taco”. The “secret” taco is a daily rotating taco that has new flavors the chef decided to put together. You don’t know what it is when you order, so it’s a fun gamble. Also there’s chips and salsa come out in tortas not tortilla chips which was different but both salsas were yummy. I’m only not giving it a 5 because the day I took my friend with me here, it was a hot sacramento summer day & their AC broke. We were literally sweating throughout our entire meal it was so hot.“

“I don't often leave reviews, but my wife and I enjoyed this spot so much that we wanted to help spread the word! The vibe and atmosphere of this place is great...modern mexican with a bit of a sports bar feel. They had a really nice outdoor seating area as well that makes you forget you are on Jefferson Blvd...the food was stellar...honestly the best chicken fajitas I can remember having anywhere and their cucumber marg was on par with the best in town. I'd highly recommend heading in and giving it a shot...I promise you wont be disappointed! For the owners: if you could add a veggie burrito with all the good stuff (guac, cheese, sour cream, beans, rice, veggies cooked in the fajita sauce) to the menu as it's own standalone item and priced accordingly that would be a great add!“

“I’ve had barrios kitchen a bunch of times since they opened off of baseline, and the food is Incredible! From the tacos, torta, burritos To the dishes with hot Cheetos! So delicious! We don’t have a lot of authentic Mexican food in west Roseville So I was so excited to try it the first time, and I was very pleased which is why I have been back several times. “Went in for tamales and baked goods for the first time. They were all out of tamales and we were told they would be ready in about 2 hours, so we got some baked goods. We liked most of the baked goods so I came back for the tamales 2 hours later and Im glad I did. They were hot right from the steamer. They only had pork but thats all I wanted anyways. If you like tamales with more chunky meat to masa ratio like me and a little spicy then these are perfect. I added a couple of there salsas to amp up the spice and I was vey pleased. I would defintely pick these up again.“

“This is a colorful little strip mall spot with a great salsa bar and very friendly counter service. The salsa was fresh and there are several varieties to choose from. The wife got her favorite, Camerones a La diabla and the shrimp were clean, and simmered in a rich , red sauce. The rice and beans are perfect!! I had the shrimp taco fish taco plate. The tacos were loaded with a killer slaw, cilantro and onions, and a killer sauce. I was full off one taco but if you know me, you know I finished both. “Driving back to the Bay Area famished, after a full day of groomer-warriors antics in Tahoe, my friends and I decided to stop in Sacramento to stretch and replenish our weary bones. We turned off on J Street and trolled the area for the first establishment that would meet our unanimous approval. After going around a few times, we spotted and agreed on a Mexican taqueria called La Fiesta Alteña. When we walked in, it was immediately evident that this was much more than a taqueria. The expansive menu, consisting of meats, seafood, salads, soups (including menudo), chips & salsa bar, and even tap beers, has something for every possible inclination or preference for the cuisine. Struggling to decide from all the enticing options, I finally approached the counter and asked if they have any specialty. Well ok, that's not exactly how I asked, I generally (and jokingly) like to ask what they're world famous for. In any case, the young lady was a good sport and I agreed to try her suggested Alhambra Burrito. Now to the meat of my review (pun intended). Our table was served quickly and went immediately quiet, as we all dug in without hesitation. But soon the moans of approval started, followed by "this is so good!" and "uh-huh" statements. My burrito recommendation delivered big time, it was a generous portion of meaty and spicy goodness with every bite, which I initially doubted being able to finish but woofed down in no time. The spaciousness and high ceilings of the restaurant make it visually appealing and keeps background noises down. And last, but certainly not least, the staff is awesome. From the order taker (who laughed at my corny joke-big points!), to the helpful busboy, and the manager who checked in on us, everyone seemed to enjoy working there and having us. I only wish that they were closer to home.“

“Found the place on Yelp. I try to find places that have Mexican shrimp cocktails, in hopes they have campechana which just adds octopus. Top marks for their campechana here! It has more kick than most, so I really like it. The hostess was very helpful when I custom designed a dish to try to hit keto, on a different day. So I ate here four meals in three days on a business trip. I took a road trip during the week and had shrimp cocktail an hour up the road… This one is way better. I would look forward to coming back here for the food.Dietary restrictions: Hostess readily customized a dish for my keto request“
