They even made us a special dish not on the menu. “Always a great experience and terrific music by pianist Kevin Fox... I go about once a week, and the food and service are always excellent. Last night, more people came in than they had anticipated, and they only had one server and one bartender. Michelle, our server, did her best to keep up and was always pleasant in spite of her stress. They ultimately were able to get her some help after about an hour. (I think the adjacent Stonehouse Restaurant may have 'borrowed' some of the staff from the Speakeasy as they may also have been short-staffed.) I can highly recommend both the Stonehouse Restaurant and the Plow and Angel Speakeasy. :)”

“China Palace is a longstanding venue in lower village Montecito, around the corner from the Vons shopping center and nextdoor Starbucks. They serve conventional Chinese food in their small dining room and street-facing patio. The food is comforting and tasty if not imaginative or special, and the staff are consistently friendly and attentive.”

Food was very good, but not the best Indian food we've ever had. But yes: we are demanding and, as we all know, tastes differ. The butter chicken was too mild for our taste. Actually practically zero sharpness.
Lassi is super delicious, as is the samosa - a dream.”
