“Went here on a Sunday. I loved how we were seated right away. It was a cold afternoon and they had a large fire place as well as heaters. The food arrived extremely fast. We tried the Brussels sprouts, German pancakes, and chicken tenders. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, the German pancakes were ok, they needed salt. My boyfriend loved the chicken tenders. The beer was also great. We both had flights, I noticed a man was setting up his music to perform a live show. Will definitely come back here.“
“I love this little neighborhood cafe and would frequent it any time over Peet's or Starbucks. While the inside is small, there is a large backyard area with tables and chairs to lounge in. You can tell that this cafe has its regulars patrons The pastries and quiches are fantastic. I have a fondness for their blueberry scones and their "peppery" chai lattes. Places like these are unfortunately a dying breed. I hope this one remains open indefinitely.“

“I finally got to try Bake Sum! The bakery was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Because of the small standing room, it was sort of hard to tell who was waiting on their order and who was still in line. They also offer few gift items along the wall, including Taiwanese chocolates, matcha powder, greeting cards, and cute shopping bags just to name a few that I saw. There is no seating, but luckily Lake Merritt is close by, and the perfect spot for a picnic. On a Saturday you might also finding seat at the Farmer's Market a block away. We tried the jasmine milk bun, pandan milk bun, ube cookie, and a coffee. It was around 11:30am on a Saturday and they were already low on inventory (when I got to the front I hear them say they JUST ran out of sesame cookies and I ordered one of the last jasmine milk buns). Of everything I tried I liked the jasmine milk bun the most, it was quite fragrant (just the way I like my jasmine flavored things)! These milk buns reminded me of my favorite melon milk buns that I had in Japan. I have no idea if they make them here...but that would be a dream to have that right here in the neighborhood! I will definitely plan on coming earlier next time so I have more of a selection to choose from.“

“I've been meaning to try Bombera for awhile, so I was excited to finally get the chance to check them out. I ended up getting the fish tacos, duck, and mango gem salad and splitting it all with a friend. First off, the mango salad was excellent, very citrus forward and flavorful. It's pretty much the same recipe the chef used during their Cosecha days. The fish tacos were huge and fried well. The duck dish was also super tasty, although I wish the portion was a bit larger since most items here are meant to be shared family style. I thought the general vibe was quite nice. Definitely a packed and chatty atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating. They even had blankets in case customers seated outside were cold. I would say that Bombera offers some tasty food options and great atmosphere. I do wish some of the portions were slightly larger given the price point, but that doesn't detract from the food quality itself. I'll be coming back to try more dishes!“

Atmosphere is nonexistant and we were the only party in there from 630-730 on a friday night. It was described to me as kind of like a port but in cider form and being aged in a barrel (I can't remember what kind of barrel) - so just the right thing for me. Over all 10/10! “Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors.
